Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

Jose Christopher Alba Dela Cruz

Nickname(s):
O-chan, Jo-chan, That Big Thing In The Middle Of The Road

Gender:
Male

Age:
18

Nationality:
Fil-Am (Filipino-American) Immigrant

Appearance: (Will draw later)

Tall, almost excessively so, standing at 222.5cm (7.3ft), with a muscular and broad body. Despite his intimidating physique, he has a gentle and soft face that's looks much like a koala. He has short, frizzy hair and large round black eyes, thick eyebrows and a pointed nose. He constantly wears a pendant with the image of the Virgin Mary on it, even while bathing. His knuckles are callused and somewhat deformed looking due to boxing things too hard.

Personality:

A man of few words, Jose rarely talks, and only does so when needed or if asked to. He is a gentle person, despite his size, and dislikes conflict. He enjoys helping people and has something of a martyr complex, although its not that bad. Jose is a very tolerating person, with a long patience and who easily forgives people; however this only applies to slights against him, and not to the people he cares about. He is a protector and a guardian, and can his slow, steady nature is calming for most people. He is not good at strategic or academic thinking, however he is very emphatic, and despite his low intelligence, seems to know exactly what to say to people. He is a very morally upright person, and despite the being unpractical, he will always choose the morally right action, even if it endangers himself.

It would be best, however, for people not to underestimate him or consider him 'soft'. He is nice, kind and gentle because he wants to be. Jose can compartmentalize like the best of soldiers, and can easily consider matters to be to separate things, meaning that if he wants to, he can be extremely ruthless and cold as steel.

Biography:

Coming from the slums of the Philippines, Jose is used to 'hard life'; his single mother was the local whore, and he was one of twelve children - some of his sibling didn't even have the same father. Despite that, however, they were still a family who loved each other. Their mother urged them to study and to have lives that were better than they were now, at the same time instilling them with a strict sense of moral and spiritual discipline. Jose did his best to make his mother proud, and even as he worked in the evening collecting and selling junk, he studied hard in the mornings and afternoons at a local public school, where he achieved above average grades, despite his low IQ. He even got a scholarship due to his height, were he was drafted into the mayors basketball team. It was also around this time that he was introduced to boxing, where he aimed to follow the footsteps of his idol 'Manny', to become the same 'rags to riches' kind of story.

A recent economic plunge, however, made life thrice as hard for the excessively large family. They could barely eat a single meal daily, and finding the funds to send some of her children to school was becoming increasingly difficult. As a last resort, Jose mother sought out all of her children's respective fathers, sending them messages and pleas to take them in. Some where hard to find and took time to contact, others were basically non-existent; the chances of any of them replying were abysmally low.

A stroke of luck happened, and several of them did reply and agree - one of them being Jose own father, an American businessman with a base in Japan. The man agreed to take him in and take care of him, in fact, he even felt guilty that he had a son and never knew or checked up on him - as far as he was concerned, Jose's mother was a one-night stand that resulted in nothing but good memories. Thus, Jose was sent to Japan, where he spent three years studying before starting high-school. Due to poverty stunting his educational growth, he was older than most students when he was in highschool, being seventeen in his first year.

He gained a reputation as a scary person, despite not really doing anything, and so most people avoided him. He didn't really care, and focused on his studies instead. He was in second year when the virus broke out, forcing him to begin a new kind of struggle for survival.

@Masaki Haruna & @Nytem4re
"Kinda like what you did earlier, huh, snowflake?" growled Remliel. She was about to say more, but the other girl turned around and left, obviously good at giving insults but not too much at taking them. "Shoulda figured you were a wimp," she muttered, before shouting at her: "Oh, and before trying to sound all smart, fix your grammar dumbass!".

"Now I'm sure everyone is here for some kind of meeting, or some semblance of order, so can we just all just wait for someone to start it? And yes, I am mainly talking to the two girls about to have a brawl over the existence of magic. Sit down, drink something. It'll calm the nerves. And it probably would cost less than paying for the entire inn."

Remliel paused for a moment, looking like she actually had to consider following the request to stop before sighing and shrugging her shoulders. "Fine, whatever." She sorely wanted to cave that girls face in, but she was in the company of better, smarter people; she would leave her alone . . . for now anyway.

@HylianRose
Remliel made her way to the bar, her mood slightly sour because Rika, and planted her head into her hands. Looking around and trying to focus on someone else didn't help either. Seeing them preform various feats of magic brought back that earlier inadequate feeling, and in all honesty she was getting the urge to just up and leave before she embarrassed herself. Sighing internally, she looked at the guy that addressed everyone, and much to her annoyance, that Rika girl was still going on about science! God, how dense could she be?!

"Criston Cross, huh?" she thought. Her mother knew about him, and his mother. It was why she was here. She thought they might be able to help. Remliel didn't see it though; the guy was kinda wimpy looking, sorta sleazy even. Not the kind of guy Remliel would hang around for long, she thought. "Maybe his mom's different. She is the one calling the shots here."

Shaking her head, she approached the girl next to him, who was talking to a really depressing looking guy. Same hair as Criston, just not as sleazy looking. Still looks very depressing; it was better than being around Rika though.

@Driving Park
"So when does Miss Maria get here anyhow?" she asked as politely as she could sound, right before jumping back as she transformed into a bird-gas-thing. "Gah!? Woah-woah," she exclaimed, right as Carmen changed back.
@RumikoOhara Nope, haven't posted here yet. Should I? I placed it in another another place and I'm just waiting for @joeycbee to respond.

Well, just in case, here:

@Cuccoruler Did the thing~!

Name:
David Alexander Robin
Nickname:
Dare
Age:
17
Gender:
Male
Species:
Human (Esper)

Special Abilities:
A superhuman body and everything that comes with it (i.e Super strength, durability, etc.) and is immune to all forms of mind control and mind based illusions, with a few exceptions; his strength and durability is comparable to 500 pounds (0.25 tons) of TNT.

His more notable ability, however, is something he likes to call 'The Power of Friendship' - this is not a joke. This ability allows him to use the abilities of others as long as two conditions are met. These are:

1. Whoever he is borrowing powers from must be in a mutual friendship with him. If one party does not think so, then he cannot borrow said abilities.

2. He must have the express permission from whoever he is copying powers from.

Also, the stronger his personal bond is, the stronger the abilities he copies will be.

Other:
Is really protective of small animals and people

@ScienMalefica Don't! Think of it like this: Everyone should feel awkward that you're the only one who thought of it :3 You know, it's kinda like the 'I'm not crazy, everyone else is just insane' kinda thing :D
@ScienMalefica Ah, yeah, should probably lower his strength output. Still, I designed him to be a monster physically, but weak to practically everything else except mind control unless he had help. Anyway, lowering it~
