@SgtEasy Sorry, Been doing a lot of procrastinating and sleeping way more than I should. Still finishing it up, but I think I'm going to tweak his nationality a bit to better fit the idea of a Russian being in a US counter terrorist team.
@Garden Gnome Yeah, but we were both competing for that role. I was being a dick.
Awwww daaaamn. Now who's going to be our pointman?...

No, but seriously, that sucks. Sorry to hear it.
@Massasauga No shit. I was in CAP as well, and I'm enlisting in the Air Force. Got my Mitchell too, so I'm coming out of basic as an E-3.
Sheeeeeit.
@SgtEasy Just finished with the equipment and basic information. Just gotta get the history and personality figured out.

And just as a sneak preview, he's a former Russian VDV soldier gone SOBR operative.
A student film taken in the Northernmost point of Alaska, which quite literally is a recording of the 30 days in which there is no sunlight due to it being winter at extremely high latitudes. It is very boring, and nothing even remotely noteworthy happens for the entirety of the film. There is also a $10000 prize for anyone who can watch the entire thing, taking breaks only to eat and sleep.

Casablanca.
This looks interesting. I think I might make a recon class.
I can't believe we've all been maintaining (sort of) an interest in this for so long. This will have been the third revival, and this shit's been going on for, what, over a year now?
The sound of gunfire can be clearly heard in the distance. Most of it is small arms fire, but on occasion you can hear the odd mortar or artillery shell. *thud* Another impact in the city; no more than a couple of kilometers away. The shells haven't stopped for more than an hour for the last several weeks. There is no building left standing that isn't in some way marred by the shelling. You wouldn't even be capable of hearing some of the gunfire if it weren't for the hole in your wall.

Most people were smart or lucky enough to get out before things got bad. You were not one of them, and now it's too late. You occasionally hear a rumor that someone found a way out, but there are so many different rumors you don't know which is true. You know there's a way somewhere, otherwise people would have starved long ago. Even still, that's not to say it's easy. Often times you go home hungry, thirsty, sick, wounded, whatever. Still, you've made it this far. You've always found enough supplies to make it, and somehow managed to avoid getting sniped or shelled, and for that you are thankful. Still, the city is completely cut off, and there's no sign of respite in sight.

*THUD* That shell landed much closer than the last one. You never know when your number will be up. You suppose it's time to find a place to hunker down and wait out the bombardment for the night. Not that there's a chance you'll get any sleep.

So, this is an idea I've had for some time, and it's largely inspired both by the game This War of Mine, and the event that it is based on, the siege of Sarajevo. For descriptive purposes, the siege of Sarajevo happened during the Yugoslav wars in which the Serbian Army completely cut off the city of Sarajevo. On top of cutting off supply lines, they bombarded the city with artillery and sent snipers into certain districts with the purpose of killing native Bosnians. The siege lasted for almost four years and resulted in over 5000 civilian casualties. It was also the longest siege of a city in modern history.

So, the idea is to follow the lives of those who have to survive through a similar ordeal. For obvious reasons, this is going to be a very dark and mature RP. Characters are expected to be realistic, and more importantly, ordinary. Within reason. Stealing, mugging, and banditry are to be expected in such a setting, but bear in mind that everyone in the RP is, more or less, an ordinary person who, at the end of the day, is just trying to survive. I don't mind if a character is ex-military, but they cannot be active duty personnel, nor can they be part of an underground organization. At least not in the beginning. I may allow for characters to become part of resistance forces later on.

On the point of survival, every character has to have at least one skill that makes them fit to survive in a city that has scarce resources and is occupied by hostile military forces. Maybe your character is agile and can run fast, making him good at avoiding snipers. Maybe they're good with electronics and can fix that busted radio in your basement. Maybe they took some krav maga and can wipe the floor with some asshole who wants to take your shit. You get the idea.

Just a feeler for now. I'm going to start working on details and getting some shit together.
