May 16th The Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Blutland, Edmund Kühn, who is avidly pro-Seljuk, personally hands King Arnold Von Titanus his resignation. "It is a stellar thing to turn one's back against Empire, when it is a battle we had only just emerged from ourselves. Supporting dissidents because they worship a different God, or wear different clothes is no different then supporting Antarian dissidents in Blutland or Blutlandic dissidents in Antari."
May 17th The Seljuki foreign attaché reminds the Saurilians that their foreign military observers will not be in harms way. Later that day, the three men: Sveen Aal, Jacob Morland, and Mari Teslow board the Kulthus steamer, headed around the Zellonian coast toward Seljuk.
May 18th The Sultanate of the Seljuk Empire campaigns for the war effort, hoping to collect donations and find willing recruits. Instead, in the Seljuk capital--students and impoverished workers begin to gather in protest.
May 19th The first Otto Mark II rifles begin arriving in Karalia, where grateful--and overwhelmingly under equipped militia--immediately equip themselves. The Tyro-Karalian border becomes a hotbed of smuggling activities where Karalians trade anything they can find for whatever supplies local Tyrians will barter for.
May 20th A minor skirmish breaks out at the Kasmus River, where 750 Karalian militia attempt to cross the river during a brief sandstorm and attack a Seljuk garrison there of the Birinci Nizamiye Fırkası (First Infantry Division). The soldiers there, equipped with 5 of the 60 Saurilian Havka machine guns, return fire and kill over 350 of the Karalians, who retreat immediately. The Seljuk report zero casualties.
May 16th Saurilian naval theorist Hunter Gonnig formerly an engineer at Throng's Shipping Company publishes his work on combat at sea entitled The Young, Fast and the Bright: The Future of Naval War. Gonnig's ideas are given the moniker the Saurilian Thought, which foresaw naval combat evolving into heavily armed ships with lighter armor. These ships, similar to dreadnoughts but with less than half of the existing armor are entitled Battlecruisers.
While the Saurilian Naval Staff could reject Gonnig's ideas, his writings were subsequently submitted to them for their use.
May 17th As per requested, both Conrad's Crowns Manufacturing and Robert's Reloading Arms submit Blueprints for the ZLR-012 bolt action rifle.
Description: The magazine system uses en bloc charger clips which were originally developed and patented by Henry Donovan, but the actual shape and design of the Mark C clip is derived from the Tyro-Antarian Model 1902 Schutze.
Until 1910, all Zellonian rifles and carbines were chambered for the rimless 6.5×52mm Model A 1895 cartridge, using a round-nose metal case bullet of 160 grains weight at approximately 2,000-2,400 ft/s muzzle velocity, depending upon barrel length. At least one small arms authority noted inconsistencies in powder types in arsenal-loaded 6.5×52mm military ammunition, often with different powder types and ammunition lots intermixed within a single clip of ammunition. The practice of intermixing powder types and ammunition lots in clipped rifle ammunition was generally avoided by arsenals of other nations, as it generally resulted in varying bullet velocities and excessive bullet dispersion on the target.
After reports of inadequate performance at both short and long ranges during the campaigns in training, the Zellonian army introduced a new short rifle in 1907, the ZLR-005, together with a new cartridge in 7.35×51mm caliber. In addition to the slightly larger caliber, Zellonian ordnance designers introduced a spitzer-type bullet for the new cartridge, with the tip filled with aluminum to produce an unstable (tumbling) projectile upon impact in soft tissue (a design most likely copied from the .303 Estalian Mark E bullet).
The Mark C is an adequate long rifle with a simplistic box chamber to prevent jams. With a 7.35x51mm cartridge, it's stopping power is interestingly less than the ZLR-003, but the same as the 1907 ZLR-005. A smooth action and accessibility for new soldiers makes this rifle recruit friendly. -- Simplistic -- Deficient in Firepower
Description: The ZLR-012RR fires the same 6.5mm smokeless powder round as the primary service rifle, but with a barrel that is three inches longer, the "Double R" (as Robert's Reloading Arms engineers nicknamed it) has a higher velocity and by extension, stopping power. With a four round box however, reloads are more frequent. A mere three inches for the barrel length effectively increases range by upwards of thirty yards. The Double RR however requires several handcrafted parts, making production more difficult and ultimately more cumbersome. -- Complicated -- High Firepower
May 18th In the Tyro-Antarian Empire the Carlsburg Investigation begins and is expected to last several months.
May 19th The Seljuk 14th Army prepares to attempt to cross the Kama River in force, now that their Saurilian built Havka machine guns have been built. The Seljukii diplomat in Saurilia promptly requests that three military advisers be dispatched to aid in their operation and maintenance. In exchange, they will be able to make important combat observations.
May 20th Mishandling of safety precautions in a Tyro-Antarian submarine causes it to be lost in it's mooring when one of the bow torpedoes explodes. Although a tragedy, with twenty-two hands lost, a salvage operation is possible but would be expected to cost $15,000,000.

Karalian Uprising: The Seljuk 14th Army under General Hassan Mahmed (Loyal/Alcoholic) is defeated at the Battle of Harash. Elements of the 14th army crossed the river and were promptly attacked by Karalian insurgents, but managed to repulse them. While handling their dying and wounded, the Karalian Army sortied forth from the hills, using mostly M1902 Schutze rifles stolen from nearby Seljuk garrisons. Outnumbered 2,700 against 8,000, the Seljuk soldiers fought a delaying action, retreating under withering fire from Karalians across the rocky, jagged outcroppings that lined the river. With over 1,700 dead, the Karalians proclaim a great victory.
An unnamed Zellonian fleet departs from Zellonia into the Inner Sea toward the Seljuk Empire. Early that morning, only forty kilometers from the coast, the ZRN Hope, an armored cruiser strikes a mine that long was assumed to have floated from the Sessauan coast. In a span of six hours the cruiser goes dead in the water, lists heavily to one side and flounders. Heavy fog inhibits rescue operations, but the captain and 187 sailors are rescue.

May 5th The Republic of Kavonia orders a partial mobilization. The Kavonian President requests military aid from the Kingdom of Dongaria.
May 8th The bordering province of Karalia in the Seljuk Empire revolts. With a population of 2,100,000, the rural Karalians have long labored under Seljuk oppression and while the Seljukii Army had not visited Karalia for nearly fifteen years, the Karalian Independence Party took it upon themselves to declare independence. Knowing however that their meager nation would not stand independent from the Seljuk for long, the Karalian nation immediately appealed to the other Great Powers for aid.
May 10th The Seljuk Army is ordered to partial mobilization. Two divisions--under newly recruited General Hassan Mahmed (Loyal/Alcoholic)--leave the Seljuk capital in marching formation toward Karalia.

Disgruntled engineers of the Goldreich Armory company in Blutland, who were refused several blueprint ideas for aviation designs, start their new aviation design bureau--Havukken Aero. While still working on actual aviation designs, they unveiled to the Blutlandic Army for potential review their Machinengunnen-10, a lightweight automatic machine gun that could theoretically be placed on aircraft for offensive operations. The Blutlandic Army immediately ordered 1,100 of the Machinengunnen-10's, but held off on the ideas for aviation, for now.

April 20th The Zellonian delegation speaks at the Foulois Accords. The original man to speak was one of those who had not arrived yesterday, and so James Conrad--an affluent political speaker--took his place. Speaking on behalf of the original delegate, James Conrad gave a heated and emotional speech. "The Kurzingas," he said, "have become a spot of derision among the world. It exists instead that perhaps Zellonia should collect ownership of the island, extending the various rights and privileges to those living on the island."
