The Great War Rises

The date is the 27th of June, 1914. Tensions between Austria-Hungary and Serbia are at an all time high and rumors have it that Serbian nationalist have plans to assassinate Archduke Franz-Ferdinand. The world seems to be on a path to war, a war to end all wars.

New Technology, New Tactics, More Death

Sorry for the short description but this should be obvious, this RP starts a day before Archduke Franz-Ferdinand is assassinated OTL (Our Timeline). This RP, like most rps that involve actual historical events, does not involve you creating an app, it just involves you claiming a nation.
Nation claiming works like this, you, the person who wants to play, just says the top 3 nations that they want to claim, and if your first choice has not been chosen yet then you get it. (Note, if you pick Serbia or Austria-Hungary you do not have to have an assassination of Franz-Ferdinand happen, World War 1 in some way probably still happens)
That is about it for now, you can start claiming nations. I claim the United States of America.

How The IC will work

IC posts will be from the perspective of the character. You do not have to have a specific character for each IC post, you could have it from the perspective of a front line soldier in one post, and the leader of the nation in the other.
Even if posts are from the perspective of the character I do want you to provide information on what you construct. Instead of involving turns, I will allow you to just have IC posts from your countries leaders perspective with him/her just stating what moves he wants to make.
Lastly, making posts go from the perspective of the character means you have to be realistic, you can't just have the German Empire conquer the UK in 1 post

Can anybody find the name of the Italian ambassador to Greece during 1914? I'd like to do my next IC post from his (or her) perspective. I can't seem to get the name anywhere.

I see.
Seems like paint doesn't want to co-operate with me, though. I tried to edit the map through the picture you posted, but I'm having problems filling out the map. The colors simply won't fill up completely and make any territory that I try to color in look weird and block-ish. Though when I use the picture Metal posted in the first post, I don't have any trouble coloring in the map.

Might wanna check that out, man.

@LordZell The US is been getting increasingly left-leaning in recent years. The idea that a fascist party could take over and overthrow the US democracy is extremely unlikely. The only reasonable scenario for the US to become fascist would have been in the 1920s amdist the great depression.

@OnlyThePie The idea that a country unstable as Belarus could take on Poland, which as a fellow NRPer has pointed out me before, has been seeing economic growth and modernization of its military as well as fucking Russia is also impossible.

@Willy Vereb Again, this come to a issue of the people just kneeling as the democracy that they have had(and fought for, remember the Iron Curtain?) would just sit by and let a monarchy take over? Plus why would the nations in that area not band together to stop the Hungarian invasions, or NATO as well as the other European powers.

If this is a concern of balance, I will reduce my claims. But at least with the Commonwealth there is some basis for a restored British Empire, everything else here is so far out in left field it's unbelievable.

If I may give you an Idea I'd say you could still do a commonwealth type state, but just don't take the African and Indian Territories. Keep the British Isles, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and maybe a reclaimed Ireland.

@OnlyThePieTook a rather tiny slice of your territories bordering mine. It was included in the shape of my prior claim and besides I wanted my nation to be surrounded by the Carphatian mountains. Hope you don't mind.

@TheSageChanged your faction coloring to an even darker red in order to avoid clashes with the Brit coloring.
I may suggest magenta or royal purple to avoid further confusion, though. They're quite Roman/Byzantine colors.
