The space marines seemed unbothered by the security. They had expected nothing less, and in fact a truly unprotected location would have made them all suspicious. "By law, all sentient creatures have a right to freedom, and protection form harm. You will be forgiven if you break the law upon entering the Imperium, as you are a newcomer, but such activities would need to end immediately. Nonsentient creatures are free to be experimented on, provided your experiments do not break the Kolon Act." Amon spoke in near monotone, as if he had rehearsed the statement. Which he very nearly had. Over the years statements such as this had become routine, as quite often it was the Dark Angels who had the task of finding and informing potential new members, as well as escorting them into Imperium lands. "As for the explosions.... that area is home to an incredibly volatile supernatural phenomenon. It's exact nature is classified, but the explosions you see cover an area over 100 km in diameter, and never stop." Amon shrugged, which was an impressive feat considering the size of his shoulderpads. He discussed the nuclear holocaust in a way most would describe the weather. Stranger things had happened, and continued to occur.

"More importantly, we are going to need the information discussed in your broadcast. If this is indeed a matter of global importance, then urgency is of import, and the sooner we possess this information the sooner we can evacuate you from this area." Amon glanced over at the unfading explosive lightshow in the distance. "To set up a base this close to the Quarantined area is dangerous, and prohibited. While there is no indication of it spreading, we need to get this data safely away." Again, it would also be safe from other factions.

Meanwhile, Remus looked Vulga over. The figure hadn't lied, that much the Librarian was certain of. But some elements struck him as being off. For one, this figure was like a hole in the Warp. He possessed no presence, no aura. Not in the sense of a Blank, who were like a tear in reality, a horrifying presence to psykers such as himself. Instead it was as if there was nothing there. The easiest solution was that this was a hologram, or a robot, but even those things had some mild reflection in the warp. It was unprecedented for something to just not show up. And this being had claimed to be from Infernum, a word no doubt based on Infernal. And that meant nothing good. That wasn't the kind of word you put in the name of nice, friendly colonies.

"You speak the truth. You are free to come with us, but we will take charge of the situation. The information will be transported to the Imperium. If it is of importance it will be shared across the globe." Remus spoke with certainty, as if he had nothing to fear. He was a Librarian, after all. He also didn't trust this individual, and made sure to keep at the ready for any kind of betrayal. The Devastator Marines, however, lowered their weapons as they moved on. They followed Squad Beta, with Squad Delta moving in a parallel street, scouting out for alternate threats and other factions, as well as providing an alternate angle of attack should something go wrong.

Then, the station exploded. It was a rather impressive spectacle, and the marines immediately prepared their weapons as a strange-looking creature emerged from the wreckage. Squad Alpha moved forward, shielding Martin with their bulk as they raised their weaponry, ready to charge should it be necessary. Squad Alpha stayed back, with Remus gathering Warp energy around him as heavy weaponry was aimed and prepped. Squad Delta meanwhile moved away out of sight, aiming to move behind the creature in order to attack it if it turned out to be a threat. Several sniper rifles were aimed.

"Xenos! Identify yourself!" Bravely, Amon stepped forward, ensuring that Martin was well protected behind the line of warriors. "If this is an attack, know that you declare war against the New Imperium." The old imperium would have already declared war by this stage, but practises had become more forgiving in recent years. Although this place was certainly odd, problems tended to be more diplomatically approachable than they had been back in their home universe.

As he dove forward, his enemies moved towards him. The necromancer's spell had not faltered, Viral was blind as a bat. But he was a Beastman, and his other senses were more than enough to orient himself. He heard the sound of wings, and knew his opponent was upon him. He felt the movement of the air, and smelled the sulphuric stench of his estranged red brethren. Twisting he slipped downwards, balancing on his hands as he curled quickly in a ball. Like a bolt of lightning he then stretched out, using the full force of his body to drive his heel into the face of his oncoming adversary. The big red creature was heavy, especially with the primitive metal armour it wore, but Viral was stronger than a normal human, and the blow was expertly placed. Such a kick would have killed a human, but the devil was merely pushed back, perhaps bruised, as Viral once more landed on his feet.

The necromancer spoke, as Viral hissed, his charge broken. Devil. He had heard the term before, referring to the red beastmen. It was a strange name, but one fitting for the savage barbarians that had forgotten their true legacy as the sons of Lord Genome. This Asmodeus was no doubt a usurper, a being with decent power who had taken Genome's place, leading this estranged colony. Or perhaps he was another variation of Lord Genome, from another universe. An inferior one, no doubt. The entire concept of the multiverse was rather dizzying, so Viral simply retained his dedication to his cause, and forced the rest to the back of his mind. Right now, all that mattered was this fight, and to ascertain HIS Lord's dominance over this world.

With those things said, Viral turned to face the 'devil' Firebrand. This big red creature had been gunning for him from the start, and he doubted he'd be able to close with the necromancer with that thing in the air. And even if he did, he disliked the idea of a 2v1 in close quarters. "And you! Red one! Face me, in personal combat. You will pay for what you did to Enki." Uncaring for any reply Firebrand might offer he shot forward, making a surprisingly high jump to close the distance with his opponent, aiming to grab onto the devil's wings or legs, and clambering onto him. If he was able to cut off the wings, that would give him a severe advantage.
Conversation with Tyki has occured over chat. Tyki's character possesses the following abilities:

- practical immunity to energy-based weapons, through an automatic drain

- reduction of damage from physical weaponry, but high-powered ballistics (Bolters, Heavy Machineguns, stuff like that) still works

- forcefield which blocks projectiles, but can be moved through, can be broken through sustained fire

- ability to create drones and constructs, which serve as allies/semi-sentient weaponry

- offensive disintegration beams comparable in power to Enki's big red beam, which can be maintained for massive destructive power.

- capable of draining magic to remove curses, barriers and enchantments, but not instantly

- powerful self-destruct which leaves him powerless

- weakened defences against unseen enemies

Tyki's character is accepted.

Points of Discussion

1) what limit is there to his energy manipulation? I'm assuming there are limits, and this isn't some universal reality-altering being. Good examples of limits are range, type, and quantity of energy manipulated. Others are speed of manipulation, including reaction speed, and the precision with which energy can be manipulated. The energy of a sledgehammer delivered to someone's face is dangerous, the same amount of energy focused into a molecule-wide area would tear through a tank.

2) Are we using a fantasy equation for the conversion, or are we just severely limiting the quantity of stuff he can convert? An amount of matter the size of an average European male converted to energy would end all life on half the planet, and an average American would rip the solar system to shreds (ha!). It would also require much more than a nuclear reactor to create anything more significant than a mars bar. As such I'm assuming there's some alteration to how actual physics would handle this?

3) The limitations on your ability to create matter are based on the mass of an object. However, in the multiverse there are a wide variety of incredibly complex and powerful materials with various effects. Examples include Celestial Bronze, Mithril, Vibranium, Prometheum (DC variety), Darkmatter (non-sciency variety), Energon, the many types of power crystal, and other Bullshitium. The ability to create such materials, even in small quantities, is incredibly potent, due to the sheer variety and strength of the effects that can be produced using such materials. Furthermore, even with common materials, the various flavours of bullshit science in the multiverse allow someone to create incredibly potent devices with a relatively low mass, but massive impact. Examples include the Genesis Device, the Philosopher's Stone, a Rosarius Shield, or a Lightsaber.

Proposed Rulings:

- quasi-immunity to most physical attacks, able to absorb relatively weak attacks and negate stronger attacks. Incredibly powerful attacks still do damage, but are severely reduced in effectiveness. Exotic matter and energy may partially bypass this ability until the element in question has been thoroughly analyzed, which would occur outside of combat. This would be limited mostly to universe-specific forms of energy and matter such as Energon and Innocence. Normal energy created from exotic energy/matter would be absorbed/negated as normal, so a laser beam powered by Ghostrock wouldn't be any more effective than a normal laser. Pure magical/psionic energy, being a non-logical type of energy, also partially bypasses the absorption/negation process. This is in order to provide a weakness that cannot be removed, and which your character will need to compensate for in some fashion, perhaps seeking means to protect itself from such attacks, without making him defenceless against them.

- the negation/absorption effect is partially automated, and sudden bursts of energy (such as those from rapid projectile attacks) are decreased in strength automatically, even if Xel'Rath is unaware of them. However, the full extent of the effect is only applied to attacks that Xel'Rath is aware of. This automatic reflex would be stronger if Xel'Rath is 'on guard', and believes he is about to be attacked, and weaker when he is relaxed, not expecting conflict. Effectively, his forcefield is regulated by the clenched-ness of his metaphorical buttocks.

- the time required to create an object is directly linked to the complexity of the object to be created. Creating a solid block of iron is easy and fast, as it requires hardly any concentration. A highly complex interface and hacking device would require far more time, even if it's mass is lower. More complex materials (alloys and molecularly altered materials) add to the complexity of devices. Bullshitium either cannot be replicated or requires far more energy and time to replicate, depending on the particular flavour. Magical or divine materials cannot be replicated, or rather the magic applying to them cannot be replicated.

- the matter-to-energy conversion shall be based on a bogus formula, based on bogus science. This is to present Xel'Rath from needing to devour the sun every time he wants to create a burrito, or using that very same Burrito to one-shot a small moon. These are exaggerations, and not literally applicable. The formula need not be specified, just that energy can be converted at a more reasonable ratio.

Take Into Account:

Later on, Xel'Rath may gain more of a grip on magical energy and erase this weakness. But I believe it's important for characters such as this to have a weakness to bypass their defences. Erasing this weakness would be a formidable in-game achievement, performed over the span of the campaign, even as other characters improve themselves in other ways. In RPG terms, you have to buy off your Weakness with Levels.

The level of power I am estimating for Xel'Rath is in the Super-Elite tier, making him one of the most powerful player characters allowed in the roleplay. This allows him to be powerful, without being game-breaking. The specific weaknesses would also allow well-researched characters or characters with specific abilities to better counter him in combat, facing him even when they're much less powerful.

Assumptions Made:

- Xel'Rath has no sensory capabilities beyond those of a normal human, perhaps with a different trapping.

- Xel'Rath is able to withstand some physical damage without being destroyed, possessing a 'core' which would manage whether or not it dies, as opposed to the normal system which relies on vital organs.

- Xel'Rath, possessing a body made of solid matter controlled through direct kinetic energy manipulation, has a decent amount of damage resistance, and will not be immediately mowed down by small arms fire.

As Ozo shot up from the ground, the figure instantly moved, rolling away from the attack with practised skill. He turned, blue energy gathering around his wand as spears of blue energy shot forth, skewering and severing Ozo's tongue. Without a word the figure began gesturing with the wand once more, blue motes of light gathering towards them, floating around them. A glimpse of their face revealed withered skin, and eyeless sockets, the flesh clinging to the skull in an eternally somber expression. This was all that could be seen before a burst of crystals emerged from the ground in front of the mage, a line of spiked blue magical crystals arcing out in a straight line towards his target, shredding all in it's path. It was almost as if this figure didn't need to see attacks in order to avoid them, nor did it seem very inclined towards diplomacy, or speech in general.

Sighing, Viral turned to the tiny human. He wasn't dead yet? He soon would be. Small humans should know better than to make boasts they couldn't keep. Even if he had somehow evaded his laser and messed with his targetting equipment, this small figure was in no place to make demands from him. "Allow me to demonstrate your error here." Viral once more activated his laser, red energy gathering into his helmet as he aimed it downwards. Although his aim might be off, the sheer size of the explosion would erase most of the enemies around him. Even his armour would take some damage from this attack if he set it off around his feet, but there was no way he could miss the ground, and none of his enemies would be able to survive this. He could find a new army afterwards, most of them had been weak anyway. Enki alone was more muscle than he would ever need, and others could always be forced into submission.

Suddenly, a blast of high-powered flame slammed into the focusing ring atop Enki's helmet. The creature took a step back as the energy gathering there destabilized. A shifting burst of raw energy shot into the sky, narrowly missing Firebrand as Enki stumbled backwards. Viral hissed, a giant mechanical hand clutching at the broken ring. They would pay for this! He shifted position, before suddenly dropping to one knee, one of his legs paralyzed. He'd been too distracted by the puny human to notice another human crawling up his leg, somehow damaging his synthetic muscles along the way. Suddenly, he was also on FIRE, which he hadn't seen coming, and which no doubt at least forced the human to get off.

"You insignificant little..." Not bothering to finish the sentence, Viral reached around, several more slots opening as he aimed a barrage of Kunai and missiles at the little neon-haired pest. Then his other leg gave out, a beam of bright red energy slamming into the hip joint and melting the armour into the circuitry. Enki was forced down, the immense mech leaning on one hand, both of it's legs compromised. It could still move most of them, but they lacked the strength to support the mech's weight. There was a moment of frenzied movement as the Mech tried to get back on it's damaged legs, or at least in a more tenable position, crushing pretty much anything near it unintentionally. However, once Viral realized the extent of the damage it merely sat back against a building, finally coming to a halt.

Slowly, the mouth of the mech opened. Viral himself stepped out, sighing. Blood ran down his side from where he had stabbed himself, blood ran down his face from a head wound, caused by one of the many crashes he had been forced to endure. From his back he drew a long bladed weapon, a modified cleaver designed for combat. He stared down the small group of individuals who had been responsible for getting him into this position, gripping his weapon tightly. His army had been wiped out, and yet his enemies still stood. A single old rat still fought for him, boldly declaring his challenge to the skeleton face. It mattered not to Viral. He had accepted his fate. His supposed immortality could not protect him from the clutches of death, merely ward him. It would not be enough for the fight to come.

A clawed finger ran along his forehead, wiping in the blood, before Viral licked it off. Smiling, as if appreciating the taste of it, he brandished the weapon in front of him, stepping down from the mech's mouth to stand before his enemies. "Very well then. It appears you have bested me. So let us see how many humans I can kill before I go down." With these words Viral leaned down and dashed forward, aiming for the necromancer. Midway he would jump in the air, throwing a kunai he had kept in his other hand at the blue-haired human before closing into melee with the necromancer, seeking to bury at least one before his time was up.
@supertinyking
I'll allow it, but take into account that your 'grounding' power may not always work. You haven't really explained how it works (telekinetically forces things to the ground, mind controls pilots, directly controls engines), so people may make their own assumptions.

@Wraithblade6
How'd my monster go from 10m to 100m in the space of one post? At this rate, in a couple posts, it'll be eating countries ^_^

"Then choose death." Alucard shrugged, as if it made little difference to him. "I'm merely the janitor here. The beasts you see below you are nothing but my broom, a tool given to me by my master. And not the only such tool." He sighed, looking down at Mithias with a glimmer of pity in his eyes. "Your world is doomed. I am unstoppable, and I am not the only one you would need to face. Even if you could eliminate the bugs, and defeat me, there would be many others to come, erasing life on this world in their own ways. The forces stacked against you are infinite, unmoving, unstoppable. You have no hope for victory. Honestly, if you killed yourself now, it might be easier." He smiled. "But no. Life struggles to the last. Else, it would be life, now would it?"

"As for why I'm giving you seven days, well...." Alucard turned away, looking off into the distance. There was something nostalgic about the way he smiled. "I once held a speech like this to a vampire a bit like you. I was going to destroy the world in seven days, and he disagreed. I was invincible, unstoppable, and completely immortal. He.... disagreed. Suffice to say the odds weren't as impossible as they seemed." Looking down, Alucard seemed to size up Mithias. "So maybe it's just for old time's sake. I've always enjoyed the seven days thing, after all. So go struggle, as life does. Do not go quietly into that gentle night, and all that jaz." Grinning, Alucard tossed Mithias a few feet up, and waved at him as he crashed down towards the ocean below. "Swim for your life, little vampire. And next time we meet, we'll see how impossible the odds are, no?"

Watching the black-clad vampire tumble downwards, Alucard sighed with self-satisfaction. He was allowed to play. After all, this time, it really was impossible. He didn't particularly get along with his.... colleagues, but there was no doubt they were effective. And as for their master... well, they'd better clean up before it got back from wherever it had gone. Alucard reached out to the hive mind, and took control of the feeding Tyranid deep in the water. That little vampire was not to be eaten. Just chased. Snap at his heels a bit, make it look dangerous. The killing would come later.

Carefully, Alucard made a small cut on the tip of his index finger with one of his sharpened nails. A single drop of crimson blood delicately hung from the tip of his finger. With a gesture he cast it into the abyss below, a tiny drop into an ocean. But this was not normal blood, and it contained Alucard's true power. Even as it hit the water it had begun expanding, mutating, growing. It pulled into it nearby Tyranid, corpses, and other organic matter. Great tentacled black fins emerged, as tortured screams echoed through the air from a dozen disjointed lungs. The corpses of Jaffa and Tyranid alike were stitched together, reanimated as old brains were grabbed and locked into, mutated into a horror beyond measure. Finally the creature was complete, a 10-meter shark-like creature, it's sides lined with screaming faces as it's twisted fins somehow propelled it through the water. The abomination swum, and it had only one target. To kill the little vampire before it could bring it's message. And then, after absorbing Mithias into the mass of corpses it consisted of, to take the first steps in wiping this world clean.
@supertinyking
Define the 'rooting' ability, and how it functions. Does it affect hovering creatures, or hovercraft? Does it affect spacecraft in space? Are there limits to what creatures/vehicles can be forced to land?
