Nervously, Alex lagged behind the forerunners. When they momentarily stopped at the elevator, he paused to catch his breath. Despite getting more physical exercise than usual in this place he wasn't in great condition, and didn't want to use his powers again for fear of falling on the floor in front of all these people. He looked around at the rest of the group, desperately trying to get in and leave. While he was glad for a chance to catch his breath, he also felt nervous at standing still for any amount of time, and was visibly relieved when the elevator finally did arrive. He got in along with the rest of the assembled kids, and decided to lean against one of the walls for support. This elevator could take them back to ground level, and then they could leave.... was it really going to be this easy? While Alex certainly hoped it would be, something in the pit of his stomach told him that was impossible.

Of course, that was when the girl started freaking out, slamming the open door button repeatedly. Raising an eyebrow Alex wondered what had gotten into her. There was nothing dangerous in here, was there? Now hysterical she began shouting something about them stopping the elevators and Alex realised they were stuck in the elevator. Even then it wasn't such a big deal though, I mean with all the powers here there was certainly someone who could open the door, right? I mean, even he could probably do that, if he managed to get his fingers in the gap... in fact, he should do that right now!

That was when the gas began to pump into the room. With a horrible hissing sound a greenish-yellow fog began to fill the room, slowly moving from the top to the bottom. Alex started, backing into a corner as his heart made a jump. Oh shit, so this is why people were freaking out! Alex had never been gassed before. Was this knockout gas? Tear gas? Was it murder-gas? Oh my god he was going to die here in this little metal box cut off from the rest of the world choking on his own blood it was happening right now. Eyes wide he spent a moment staring at the ceiling as his mind screamed at him to move, but he couldn't get out of here. The only way out of the elevator was blocked by those doors! But....

Glancing back at the doors, Alex suddenly remembered he was a superhero now. Did he have enough power to break through those doors? What if he just broke them so they didn't open, and then they all died in here? That sounded like a thing he'd do... But if he was going to be a superhero one day, he had to learn to just do stuff. So, swallowing the lump that had formed in his throat, Alex forced his way to the front of the kids and towards the doors. This was his chance to show everyone what it was he could do, just how cool his ability was. So he placed his hands on the door, and began drawing on his stored energy. Like an invisible muscle he twitched it. He still didn't exactly control how much power he drew on, it wasn't an easy thing to do. Not like in the comics, where people knew exactly how to do stuff like that.... but for this he figured he'd need all of this. So he pulled with all his might, until he could feel a massive ball of power focused on his arms. Like he'd somehow tied a knot into his flesh, it was kinda painful. More energy than he'd ever held before, this was probably everything he had left. All of his reserves. Hopefully it was enough.

Breathing out, Alex let everything out. He opened the floodgates, and all of the power came flowing out of his body, through his arms and into his fingertips, into the door. Like a wave slamming into the shore it slammed into the door, and with a blast like a gunshot they were torn completely away from the wall. They launched themselves across the room and into the hallway, skidding across the ground before they came to an eventual stop about 10m away from their starting position. The entire thing left Alex breathless, the feeling of sending out that much power that quickly was like a punch to the gut. He was having trouble breathing properly, and stumbled out of the room, dropping onto his hands and knees. After a bit of coughing he managed to roll onto his back and started breathing properly again. Not exactly the awesome introduction he'd wanted for his powers, but damn! He'd murdered that door. Too bad he'd spent all his energy while doing it, he wouldn't be able to pull off something like that again for a while.
So when is this going to get started, if ever?

@Lmpkio
yay! I'll move him over to the Characters tab.
@Old Amsterdam

Well, it was now or never. Guilt could have done this for a while, stayed in the shadows and prepared. But at this point it felt almost silly, preparing so much for a combat situation when the other wasn't taking this nearly as seriously. If this was a trap it wasn't a good one, giving Guilt all the advantages like this. So it probably wasn't to begin with. Sighing Guilt once more ate up the Fog, all of it vanishing in a brief flash of light. That was not to say she wasn't prepared to go to battle anymore, as letting down her guard around another Epic was a potentially fatal mistake, but she wasn't going to waste resources like this. If this was intended to be a peaceful bit of communication, then she would have to treat it as such.

Guilt would appear on the opposite building, although she would still not sit. It was not surprising what Traveller had manged to learn, and her guesses were fairly accurate. As was to be expected of a major-league hero. Of course Guilt still could not remove her mask, but this time she was prepared. A teleprompter would appear attached to the wall below her, attached to a generator and a small keypad. Guilt typed what she wanted to say into the keypad, never looking away from Traveller. Her words would appear on the teleprompter, slowly scrolling upwards.

"I'm from the outside world. Where there are no High to protect you.
I kill criminals, because they do not deserve to live.
I am brutal, because it makes their death memorable.
It makes others take notice.
They die quickly. It is a mercy.

It is not hard to anger Comet. Comet is a fool.
He attacked me, and expected to kill me.
He claims this is because I kill criminals.
Yet he attempted to kill me, and he killed another, Nudd.
His judgement is foolish and flawed.
Are all heroes here fools?"

Silently Guilt waited as the large white letters slowly scrolled upwards. This method of communication was somewhat slower than speaking, but it was her best option, at current. And despite herself, Guilt was interested in what Traveller's answers would be. After all, this was the first time she had been able to sit down and talk to a big-city hero.
@Kiyran
Thanks for the response.

Although I am certainly curious what does happen when you remove darkness. I mean, what else could there be? Nothing is, by definition, darkness, so can darkness users just drain power from a room infinitely?

@Conscripts
The problem is that that's sharing power. It's one Aedis giving power to a different Aedis. Using their power to create something the other Aedis can drain. I was thinking of the very act of draining creating something the other can drain. Which would allow for an infinite loop, both Aedis gaining power, as opposed to one Aedis giving power to the other.

Name: Bob

Species: Loqi Colony

Age: impossible to determine, but it has been 6 years since he separated from the main Loqi colony.

Gender: 31

Height: 2m

Weight: 120 kg

Personality:
Bob is fascinated by humans, and attempts to learn as much as he can about them. His alien mind often has trouble comprehending concepts that make complete sense for a human, although his extended exposure has made him far more human than the greater Loqi hive mind. He dreams of absorbing as much of human culture and the multi-cellular experience as possible before returning to the hive mind with this information, once more melting away into the larger Loqi awareness. He acts in a cheery and optimistic manner under all circumstances, which can be both charming and disconcerting. Due to his lack of individuality he feels no real sense of self-preservation, beyond his recognition of the importance of the information he carries. This also applies to others, as to Loqi the value of an individual's life is his value to society as a whole, or potentially whatever 'faction' they're a part of. Concepts such as selfishness are completely alien to him, and he simply cannot understand them.

History:
Created by the Loqi hive mind as an ambassador to the human species, Bob was named for the scientists who witnessed the event. He spent the first five years of his life interacting with scientists, who designed machines that transformed the chemical communication of the Loqi cells into vocal communication. As Bob is a smaller colony his intelligence is more similar to that of a human, which was necessary in order to even begin comprehending humans. While not the first 'ambassador' and certainly not the last Bob was the most successful, as the Loqi had managed to trade with the humans for a technologically advanced suit which would allow Bob to interact with other humans as if he himself were also a human. For the entirety of his existence as a separate colony Bob has been working on integrating himself into human society and understanding humans better. Now he functions as an alien hunter in an attempt to understand human individuality, self-preservation, and to expose themselves to a larger variety of alien species.

Weapons/Supplies:
Bob himself is nestled into a suit of 'power armour' which surrounds the colony itself. This power armour contains the necessary machinery to allow the Loqi colony to communicate vocally, and sends constant sensory data to the Loqi colony. This allows Bob to interact with the world in a fashion similar to how humans do it, which he finds profoundly strange. This suit is stronger than a human body, as well as being significantly more durable, although it is not faster. And Bob is far from agile, having trouble even conceptualising 3d movement on a macro scale. The suit is equipped with extendable blades on it's forearms and scanning equipment, granting it sensory abilities beyond those of a normal human. In the hands of a more capable 'pilot' it would be a far more dangerous weapon, but even as Bob's 'body' it is quite dangerous.

Misc: decided to make an astoundingly weird character.
Couple of questions.

1) What is 'Holy Darkness'? Or other 'Holy' elements, for example?
2) If a Darkness user draws from darkness, then does his absorption create light? And does a Light user create darkness when they do the same?
3) If the answer to 2 is yes, then could a light and dark user together form a sort of super-battery?
4) Could 2 people of the same element have different powers based on their speciality?

Are you guys still here?
@Old Amsterdam
Hmph. A rather obvious message. Guilt crouched on the edge of a roof, staring at the streets below as she considered what this meant. While Comet was brash and arrogant, Traveller seemed more cool-headed and intelligent. That made her far more dangerous. What reason was there to lure Guilt to a fixed location, other than as a set-up for a trap? In their last encounter Traveller had seemed opposed to killing, but well prepared to employ violence if necessary. So perhaps something about that encounter had convinced the deaf 'hero' that violence was indeed necessary. Comet must have convinced her of this, or perhaps another hero contact. Alternatively she had always been willing to use violence, but unconvinced of her ability to take Guilt down. The tactical approach. Unwilling to face Guilt one-on-one, or even with Comet's help, the logical conclusion was an ambush, most likely by a collection of heroes. In the end her motive didn't matter. Even if this wasn't a trick or ambush, it would be bad to come unprepared.

Now if Guilt was absolutely certain that this was a trap, she could simply bomb the place. It would be easy for someone with her abilities to set up a suitably powerful bomb, using materials from all across the world. Causing that bomb to materialise in the midst of these heroes, and then setting it off, could level the entire railroad station. Innocents would most likely have been removed from the scene beforehand, but the risk that they were present was just another reason this plan couldn't be performed. No, Traveller had not yet sinned, and she couldn't punish people pre-emptively. To do so would be to abandon all reason. So Guilt would have to do something far riskier and move in, while avoiding the superpowered entities that would no doubt be present. So this was a meeting that she would need to prepare for, extensively. Because if it did turn into a fight... she might have to slaughter a significant number of elite Epics.

So over the following day denizens of Epic City would notice a number of odd occurrences. When it rained, some places were completely dry without explanation. Strange seismic events that couldn't be normally explained. Objects vanishing from hardware stores, sports stores and warehouses all over the city, occasionally compensated with money and occasionally just a note saying 'I'll put it back later'. On once notable occasion, an entire house vanished for 20 minutes before reappearing. Even for Epic City, a place filled with strange events, these events were rather odd. But then the hour of the meeting struck.

When the train station itself was quiet, Guilt would appear. Her usual outfit was complemented with hardware gathered from various locations within Epic city, and a couple of locations without. She was familiar with a number of places, including her former residence, where she could access equipment that would be hard to come by in Epic City. This new gear included a set of heatvision goggles, which she now used to scan the area. Comeras appearing in various locations would allow her to monitor the entire station. While Traveller's ability allowed her to rapidly call in reinforcements, the amount of people here already was an important factor. As calling in reinforcements would require Traveller to expend focus, and if Guilt was able to keep traveller busy she could limit the amount of people who came in. After doing her little reconnaisance the extra equipment would vanish.

Whomever had chosen to show up to the train station would find a sudden fog rolling in, seemingly out of nowhere. The kind of thick fog, that made it difficult to see anything further than a meter away from you. Those susceptible to this kind of thing would find themselves highly nauseated... something in this fog was causing them severe discomfort from just breathing it in.
