You'd think, right? But I think we've come to the point where A.) more and more people use it in that way, so there's not as much shame attached to doing it; and B.) it's also not uncommon for people to just have AI read it so... maybe they thought no human being would actually read and take the time to validate the report?

Either way, we humans have become very lazy 😭

Oh my gosh... this happened so many times in our field. Recently, there was this one student (from a different university) who contacted our PI and he showed off this one report he wrote... which one our own interns read and found out that this whole paper was basically AI generated (more specifically there was a butt load of hallucinated citations and the real information was interpreted in a way that made no sense given the context). It's soooo bad 😭
