There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Personal Profile

Name: Taylor
Pronouns: They/them
Age: Mid 20s
Relationship: Married (happily, I might add)
Time Zone: Arizona (we hate daylight savings, so it's MST year-round)
Writing History: I've been on a number of different roleplaying websites for over a decade and a half
Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes
Level: Advanced. Will consistently provide around 400-700 words per post, but can occasionally leap to 2000+
Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

@AHeartlessNobody Love them <3
I ship Tara and Jax so much and they haven't even met yet xD
Also Sarah and Kogren. They'll be a super fine couple ;)

I have a couple other RPs to reply to before I post again here (I'm trying not to leave any of my partners behind), so I may not get around to this one until after my two week hiatus to the East coast. After that, I should have more time though!
Serix chuckled at Cassie’s excitement at the prospect of having a child. She was already way beyond him in planning how to raise it and teach it to accept its unusual heritage. He was still just thinking about the humans’ reactions when they found out—as they would find out eventually—about what he and and his mate were trying to do. He only hoped they would be forgiving because of Cassie’s good standing with them. The half-bloods may have hated him because he was a Lunairan, but at least she had earned their trust and loyalty. That had to count for something, right?

“With you around to tell it how perfect it is, I’m sure any child of ours will feel completely accepted,” Serix assured her with a soft smile. “You’re already so caring and fiercely protective, and the baby hasn’t even been conceived!” He laughed again and drew her into a playful embrace, burying his face against her neck. “I love you, Cassie. Your passion for the things you care about is endearing. I’m lucky I get to call you mine.”

---

Over the course of the next three weeks, things slowly returned to normal. Serix’s injuries healed almost completely, leaving nothing but faint scars in their place on his back. He worked hard whenever the humans allowed him to help out and eventually regained the trust of all but Hunter and Ryan—although the latter was likely just frustrated with him for winning over the female he loved. Overall, the caverns were peaceful once more. No one tried to lay traps or start any trouble. It was even beginning to seem like many of the humans were softening to the idea of accepting Serix as one of their own.

He should have known it was too good to last.

The invasion happened on a day like any other, when Serix and Cassie were helping till the fields of the humans’ artificial farm. They were assisted by Jerry and Sarah, who made their usual sibling banter to keep the work entertaining, and by Tori, who gave her usual silent smile when her mate cracked a joke. Everything was fine until Gunner sprinted out of one of the tunnels, eyes wide and weapon drawn. The group in the fields looked up, alarmed.

Gunner paused only to catch his breath before shouting, “Lunairans in the hideout! Everybody, arm yourselves and get ready to fight.”

“What?” Jerry gasped, all humor fled from his eyes and he grabbed Tori’s hand without a second thought. “I need to get her out of here… I’ll come to help soon! Hold them off until I get back.” His gaze flicked to Serix for a brief second, but he said nothing more and turned instead to run down another hallway with his startled mate in tow.

Sarah frowned concernedly as she watched her brother take off, then turned to eye Serix with hostility, growling: “Well, now’s as good a time as any to prove which side you’re really on, alien. Who’s it gonna be? Us or them?”

Still reeling from Gunner’s unexpected announcement, Serix barely registered the female’s words. Other Lunairans? Here? Now? What was going on? He knew where his loyalties lay—with Cassie—but that didn’t mean he wanted to fight his own people. No, no, no, no. This can’t be happening. He raked his fingers through his hair in frustration; his wide, violet eyes fixed on the ground in front of him. It had been hard enough for him to fight the Scouts last time, and they were even threatening to kill his mate! Even though he knew he only had one option, he couldn’t help but feel torn.

“I…” Serix faltered. He swallowed and took a breath, forcing himself to accept the situation, then looked up at Sarah with newfound determination. “I’m on your side. Show us where the weapons are.”
@Damiann47 Kyou was born and raised in Japan, so he knows all the classic myths, and he's done extensive research on the less famous ones as well. He doesn't know much about Western creatures though (apart from some of the classic vampires and things like that), so Erika would definitely be more prepared to face those. This will make them a pretty good team :)
Don't worry about it! I've been ridiculously busy lately too. I'll try to get my reply up as soon as I can since I'll be going on a two week hiatus starting on Sunday
Ahhh I'm so sorry! I'm almost a week late. I'm terrible. Shoot me now.
New post is up though! Hopefully it was worth the wait.
Or you can just shoot me. That's cool too

Anyways, I was thinking about mythology. What's your opinion about this:
I've noticed in Japanese folklore, the demons and monsters don't seem to die. They're all specific entities that have been around since ancient times. So, I was thinking that maybe in our story, the creatures can't be killed, but are rather sent temporarily to a sort of netherworld for he unholy when dealt a fatal blow. It could make things interesting that way. Also our characters could wind up there later through unfortunate circumstances if that sounds good to you.

Thoughts?
Kyou tensed as Omukade lunged at him. Even though the monster was large enough to cut him off from his exit points and wrap its long coils around him in one move, he felt strangely prepared to fight and defeat it. It was obviously prideful, as it had fallen for his taunts and, enraged, made the first attack. He knew from experience that hotheaded opponents were the easiest opponents. Once irritated, they were easily confused and manipulated. He just needed to make sure he didn’t make any fatal blunders that would allow the angry creature to strike back. Simple enough, right?

As soon as Omukade’s faces were within striking distance, Kyou ducked down and slipped beneath the monster’s neck, sweeping his blade at its exposed throat in the same motion. While the majority of its body was armored, there was a small gap between its skeletal plates just below its chin. This was the Hunter’s target. Unfortunately, however, the centipede’s reflexes were as quick as his own and it reared up so that his blade only nicked its skin. It hissed and retreated, long tail lashing in blind fury, while he skipped out of he way and readied himself for the next attack. The centipede circled him again.

“Come now,” Kyou jeered. “Is the almighty Omukade humbled by a mere scratch?” He flicked his wrist, casually passing his knife from hand to hand as if bored with their brawl. His eyes betrayed his focus, however, as his icy gaze was fixed unwaveringly on the monster. “Don’t tell me we’re done already. I was only getting started!”

The centipede’s faces hardened and he smirked, bracing himself for another strike. But before that could happen, Omukade’s body seized up in a violent ripple and it screeched, whipping its head around to face the open alleyway behind it. Kyou blinked in confusion. Strange... What happened? As if in answer to his question, the Hunter’s eyes fell on something protruding a chink in the monster’s armor: an arrow. He stared at it for a moment before the reality of the situation clicked in his brain. Someone else is here. He hurriedly looked up to see who the new arrival was, hoping it wasn’t just some foolishly brave soul with a bow who thought he might be able to help. Protecting a bystander would put Kyou in a difficult predicament that he did not want to deal with.

However, instead of a wandering civilian, Kyou saw a well-armed, young woman. She held what he guessed was a magic talisman, which could only mean that she was another Hunter. Intrigue filled him at the prospect of meeting another person who shared his unusual occupation, but he forced himself to put the thought aside. After all, Omukade was still alive and kicking. He took advantage of the distraction the female Hunter had caused and lifted his hands, open-palmed, towards the centipede. Narrowing his eyes in concentration, he summoned the element of fire, engulfing as many of the creature’s legs in flames as he could before he felt dizzy from the effort—as a water specialist, the other three forms of natural magic were difficult for him to control—and lighting the alley ablaze with a flickering orange glow.

“Human scum!” Omukade screamed, writhing in pain and rubbing its lengthy body against itself as it tried to extinguish its burning limbs. The way it was contorting, the centipede was beginning to look like a weirdly deformed pretzel.

“Never look away from your enemy in a fight,” Kyou said between heavy breaths.

“Not fair; not fair!” the demon howled, slowly putting out the fires on its legs. “Two against one. Let me eat you in turn!”

“Swear to return to your mountain, Omukade,” Kyou commanded, raising his dagger. “You know you can’t escape.”

The centipede hissed at him murderously, it’s head swiveling back and forth as it looked between the two Hunters. After a moment, it seemed to resign itself to his words. It crawled towards him and raised one of its burnt legs, letting the fresh, dark blood drip down and form a small pool on the ground, “I, Omukade, swear to return to the mountains of Lake Biwa.”

Kyou nodded and nicked his own forearm with his knife, letting his blood drip and join the centipede’s in the pool, “I, Mizuchi, accept your pledge, demon. It has been sealed in blood. Now leave and never return.”

“Very well,” Omukade’s eyes narrowed spitefully. “You have made a powerful enemy today, human. Remember that if you ever find yourself near my home.” The centipede turned and scuttled away from him, hissing once more at the female Hunter as it passed by her on its way down the alley.

Kyou let out a soft exhale as he sheathed his dagger. That went better than expected. On my own, I never would have been able to convince a creature of that strength to peacefully depart. Speaking of which… He raised his blue eyes to look at the unexpected arrival once more. In the darkness, her features were difficult to make out, but he could see that she had a slender build, long, dark hair, and deep green eyes that reflected the light of the moon. He didn’t recognize her, which wasn’t surprising since they were in the heart of Tokyo, one of the largest cities in the world.

Should I say something? He wondered. She did help me, after all. As far as I’ve known, Hunters don’t interact much, but it would be rude to just walk away… I should say something. Determined now, he took a step towards the woman and bowed respectfully, “Thank you for your assistance.”
Sorry for the delay. I've been working late these past couple days and haven't had time to so much as glance at RPGuild
I have an appointment and church today, but I'll try to squeeze a post in for you when I have time later
@Damiann47 Google translate never gets it right, haha. I actually took two years of Latin, so I know a bit :)
It's a tricky language, but it's pretty cool!

I didn't really have any plans, and it's more fun when we play off of each other's characters anyway
I'll start on my response either tonight or Wednesday depending on when I have the most time
That's alright! I've been pretty busy lately anyways.
I look forward to your post :)
@Damiann47 Haha, I like starting RPs with a bang :P
I really just skimmed through a list of Japanese monsters and picked a cool one

You can post back whenever. I'm going to bed soon, so I'm not in a rush
