White Wolf Returns: A Homecoming for World of Darkness
For over three decades, White Wolf has stood at the bleeding edge of supernatural and horror storytelling. From Vampire: The Masquerade to Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Mage: The Ascension, our games helped shape generations of roleplayers, writers, and dreamers who sought meaning in the shadows.
Today, we are proud to announce that World of Darkness will once again be guided under the name that birthed it: White Wolf.
This isnβt just a name change. Itβs a return to our rootsβand a commitment to the future. A future where mature horror stories are told with care. Where community and collaboration are central. Where fans, creators, and licensees can find clarity, support, and inspiration under a banner they trust.
Simultaneously, we are announcing today that White Wolf will now be a publisher, as well as a licensor, of World of Darkness games. This means that we will continue to work with our network of licensing partners who bring you all the great video games, tabletop roleplaying games, card games, and more -- but we will also develop some new games internally, and publish them.
The first game that we will publish as White Wolf is Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 as co-publisher with Paradox Interactive. We will announce additional games from White Wolf as the publisher later this year.
As White Wolf, we will: β’ Reinforce our legacy as pioneers of narrative-driven horror and emotional roleplay across all our products. β’ Provide clear leadership across all World of Darkness media and products. β’ Support creators with improved tools, transparency, and canon guidance. β’ Maintain rigorous standards for inclusivity, sensitivity, and collaboration in storytelling.
The night belongs to us all. Welcome home, Vamily.
The two made their ways to their respective cabins, or rather officer quarters. Elna dropped Roy's stuff off at his quarters as she went to make her way to her own quarters. A few minutes later she was dressed down from her armor as she waited for Roy to show up out of his dress uniform. It took five minutes as the woman waited for the PO to come out, she was about to knock on his door but he finally came out dressed in his PT gear. "Took you long enough." She said rolling her eyes, looking unimpressed. Roy let out a small chuckle and two began to walk towards the war game deck or rather sim. Upon arriving they realized they were the only ones there, it appeared that the rest of the team went to eat. Their loss.
After a few minutes of prep, they booted up the sim, and a few moments later they were in a thick of it. They had booted up a scenario that put them up against the URF - specifically in a covert role as the two set off to sabotage a variety of objectives. Elna kept close as for once the poor agent had to carry a lot of gear himself, in laymens terms it was the demolition gear. They headed up a steep hill, covered in snow as they moved under the cover of the blizzard that engulfed them. For Elna this was nothing new, but she had to condition the spook to some of the work they may be doing.
Listening to the briefing Roy kept quiet and took notes where applicable, it really just seemed to be a well-organized Covenant Remnants group that was interesting was the URF presence. Perhaps they were being advised by ex-ODST turned URF, it wasn't common but it wasn't out of the picture either. Though he didn't ask any questions he let the Spartans ask their questions like who was going to lead, and about the flood, all seemed rhetorical in the grand scheme of the whole structure of the group. He was wondering when someone was going to ask a decent question, in the end no one seemed to in his eyes. Once he formulated his own questions he'd pass them up but it all seemed so rudimentary, you coulden't really ask questions when there were obviously no answers - except for the basic or stupid. ONI basically knew squat about the whole situation, just some big fuck off ship, brutes and the URF sprinkled in between.
Elna kept a eye on the room as she scanned it constantly, seeing if the frames would crack around the swords or the loyal Spartans. In the end nothing happened besides the Unggoy being an Unggoy and breaking the chair it was sitting in. Command announced that Aviza would be the team leader, she gave a look to Roy like a "kay" look. He coulden't see beneath her helmet or visor and shrugged back before she lulled her head back to view the speech of it's ever most importance. The AI had to do a whole speech about who was really in charge like there was some bureaucratic issue like the Swords would go crazy or the Spartans would try to take command. It was redundant but she had seen it a million times in her career.
After being dismissed the two got up and began to leave, Roy noted that Aviza wanted to talk to the Captain but didn't press it further as he made his way to the pelican. Elna followed in suit bucking all their shit on her back as she made her way to the bird as well. The ride was bumpy but she had worse, once the Pelican landed the two looked around as they went to make their way to their quarters. Elna ignored Aviza as she followed Roy, obviously to go and drop off their shit first. Roy began to walk away from the group heading for his quarters, the two would later reconvene in the War Game sim room to participate in whatever training or session would be provided.
