White Wolf Returns: A Homecoming for World of Darkness
For over three decades, White Wolf has stood at the bleeding edge of supernatural and horror storytelling. From Vampire: The Masquerade to Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Mage: The Ascension, our games helped shape generations of roleplayers, writers, and dreamers who sought meaning in the shadows.
Today, we are proud to announce that World of Darkness will once again be guided under the name that birthed it: White Wolf.
This isnβt just a name change. Itβs a return to our rootsβand a commitment to the future. A future where mature horror stories are told with care. Where community and collaboration are central. Where fans, creators, and licensees can find clarity, support, and inspiration under a banner they trust.
Simultaneously, we are announcing today that White Wolf will now be a publisher, as well as a licensor, of World of Darkness games. This means that we will continue to work with our network of licensing partners who bring you all the great video games, tabletop roleplaying games, card games, and more -- but we will also develop some new games internally, and publish them.
The first game that we will publish as White Wolf is Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 as co-publisher with Paradox Interactive. We will announce additional games from White Wolf as the publisher later this year.
As White Wolf, we will: β’ Reinforce our legacy as pioneers of narrative-driven horror and emotional roleplay across all our products. β’ Provide clear leadership across all World of Darkness media and products. β’ Support creators with improved tools, transparency, and canon guidance. β’ Maintain rigorous standards for inclusivity, sensitivity, and collaboration in storytelling.
The night belongs to us all. Welcome home, Vamily.
Alex didn't get a chance to do her diabological and sometimes irrational things as she stepped into the office only to be stopped by the psycho lady, well she was psycho now. She left the room without too much of a word as she headed back to the crowds of people, the crowds of cops - it wasn't a good feeling, the doctor had just been smoked by something not too natural maybe, but he was dead and everyone was still reeling it in. She was surprised she wasn't in a ball curled up and all sad-Alex mode, she ended up edging to the outer perimeter of the group not wanting to engage in talk or anything of that nature - talking with these guys sucked.
She ended up finding herself beside Cole, leaning up against the wall just like him as she hid from the whole crowd - hid from society, reality just becoming another messed up invisible blur for the world to pass over. She let out a sigh for once, letting out the frustrations of the night in her first audible sound of the evening. Returning to a rather passive state of non-compliant silence her eyes drifted off to the red and blue lights that danced off the glass of the nearby skyscrapers.
The sound of the radio blared out with an oomf as the bass picked up Zach's custom-slow-fi low-chills playlist, playing something that the two listened to on the daily. Behind the wheel was a rather young blonde, in his twenties the slicked up greaser, fuck boy whatever term you may have for such a young man - was gunning it behind the wheel of his 2011 Black Camero. The two cut through the countryside in the darkness of the night, the only thing illuminating their way were aging, old derelict lamps of decades before their time and the headlights on the monster that was purring down the road.
He's smoking a Belmont cigarette, one of his favourites as the smoke fills the car, Alex is rather indifferent to the smell compared to her self now she's more lively, excited. That's what happens when love comes in your life, it uplifts you - a cigarette of an unknown brand hangs on the lips of Alex, perhaps it's a joint. Both are smoking, the sounds of laughter and some fanfare echo the Camero as the two were talking but the memory is vague, blank. The conversation couldn't be recalled for the time, Zach looks towards her with a smile, and a playful smirk crossed his face.
"#*@$!!!!"
Zach's eyes snap back towards the front of the road as a figure is present in front of the car that's going about... 70MPH, a loud BUMP followed by a crack and and a crunch as the body flies over the top of the car and onto the roof before hitting the ground behind them. Zach slams on the brakes as the Camero comes to a violent halt, the two's expressions are changed forever. The memories skips lags - Alex is checking the man's pulse.
Though the day remained rather dull for the young woman, rather it was night but she had arrived at the scene of the statue and slowly the rest of the group poured in. Talking, saying hello though at this moment she remained reserved, and quiet as the rest talked and said their piece. Eventually, they moved into the building, she followed the young woman - Linda, the assistant to the good doctor. As they rid up in the elevator she felt somewhat claustrophobic as she was surrounded by all these people. Once the elevator dinged she stepped off and they made their way to meet the man in their usual room per the usual...
Except that's not what happened, the Doctor? DEAD. It hit her like a train as she looked down upon the dead man.. Just like she did with Zach all that time ago, it made her sick - she looked away, in shock as everyone else responded in different ways, some physical others emotionally and others inquisitively. Though it was all white noise to the woman as people decided to call The Police which generally isn't an issue but now it flared up her anxiety as she started to sweat a bit from the thought, she began to walk away.
Despite Linda's request she walked away from her, and went to one of the adjacent rooms nearby the scene of the crime so to speak as she went and walked by the reception area like a zombie, she was out of it for sure. Getting away from the scene would likely be the best course of action for her before she melted down - or something else bad happened, coming upon a door she pressed her hand down on the handle plunging it down to open it. The door opened creeeeeeeeeeeeeeak, and other awesome sounds doors made when you opened them under duress, what was inside?
Travelling alone without Zach had been hard for Alex at first as she had been by herself, without him the anxiety sometimes stopped her fro traveling at all but the therapy with the good doctor was working and there were results. Though that's where she was going today, to see the people she didn't really talk to. She wasn't a talker much anymore, she was for the doc but for the others they were just there the group therapy sessions were voluntary but she wasn't one to talk too much - flap her gums, all that jazz. The young blonde exhaled softly as she stepped off the metro, not dead - yet.
She made her way towards the office, well rather the momunment that the group was forming up outside of the office this fine winter evening. The young blonde was bundled up to prevent any attacks from the cold or the winter's breath, for now she dragged her legs like a corpse - a zombie, making her way up to the steps creeping behind the group, remaining silent as a few patients - yes PATIENTS the insane ones like herself.. Spoke, made small talk as they did, she remained silent. Observing, watching like a creature from the dark. She blinked sighing mentally.
Her eyes gazed up upon the dark sky, she lacked the street sense to feel the off-coming blues that was about to impose despair upon the downtrodden members of the therapy group. She looked up into the gaping glowing stars wondering if there was more to this if she had finally out run those P.I.s that were after her long ago. She exhaled, hot air bellowing from those perfect nostrils of hers as her hot air lit up the front of her face before vanishing before her. It would be just another session, nothing could go wrong - at least that's what she told herself..
