Ariel - Grand Magic Games Stadium

Died and been soulnapped, that was a new one. But maybe she should finish the thought on Edolas. At first Edo-Karn's description of Edolas was less than stellar. ALthough pretty much any place would have its problems when the leadership is bad. But despite that there did seem to be a silver lining, namely that of Edolas itself.

Ariel listened intently as Edo-Karn described how they lived without magic. It was actually quite fascinating that they found other ways to do things. And there was also mention of the sky. It made her wonder what it looked like since it sounded distinctly different than the one here in Earthland. "My father didn't like the use of magic for some reason. So I grew up not having much around. It sounds like you've made some great advancements." Leaning against the railing she glanced up at the sky. "Kind of wish I could see what Edolas looks like. My parents always told me it was far away. Turns out it's a different world completely. I don't even know how I ended up here. I was too young to remember. Not that I'm complaining. But it is a little curious."

Drumming her fingers for a minute she looked back at Edo-Karn. "It's probably weird being in someone else's body. Everyone thinking you should be someone else." Kind of reminded her of how people reacted to her various personalities. It took a while before people got used to the fact that she might act completely differently one moment from the other. "So if you're in this body then what happened to the Karn I knew? Is he still there or..." She'd rather not say the last bit.
@t2wave Its currently two post rule for now.

Ah yes I see. I misread.

@Silver Fox
@Silver Fox I think we have the three post rule in place again. Just so you know.

Ariel was perplexed by Edo-Karn kissing her hand for a second before remembering how the introduction had been presented. It was probably a formality than anything. "People from Edolas aren't really that common in Earthland. Although I didn't realize that Edolas was another world. My parents never told me that for some reason." She filed that away as something to ask her parents next chance she got. Maybe after the games she should make a trip home.

So far she hadn't really told anyone else much about getting kidnapped. But in this case it might be alright. "In the last few days I was kidnapped by one person and almost killed by another. The first was the one I mentioned from Edolas. The other was a guild member. I think she was jealous or something. Not a very good reason if you ask me." Shrugging she decided to drop that part over something she found more interesting. "Maybe you can tell me then. What is Edolas like? I was born there but as far as I can remember I've always lived here in Earthland."

She stared for a few moments. That was quite a lot to take in. But it would explain why the magic seemed to be the same even though he acted different. Was that kind of thing even possible? Probably a dumb question, magic could do many crazy things. But that definitely would explain the behavior. After a while she decided not to question it, more curious about this other Karn than anything.

She did seem to show interest after Edo-Karn mentioned being from Edolas. Besides Tidius she hadn't met anyone else from what was apparently her homeworld. "Edolas... You're the second other person I've met that is also from there. Although the last person was less than agreeable." She mused for a moment before coming back to the situation at hand. She offered a hand to shake. "Nice to meet you Karn. It sounds like a lot has happened in the last few days."

Karn was very clearly distracted. It seemed to take a second before she had full attention. "He" also said something in a tone Ariel never heard Karm use before. Cocking her head to one side she tried to work through what she just heard. Who was this in front of her? It looked like Karn but so far hadn't acted or sounded like Karn. Questions were running through Ariel's mind along with several different answers. Most of which couldn't be substantiated without more information.

The train of thought was derailed by Karn asking who she was. Really? Did Karn hit his head or something? "Me? Did you lose your memory? I'm Ariel. Ariel Gratas." Perhaps this wasn't Karn. People did have Transformation magic. Maybe someone was pretending to be Karn. If that was the case they weren't doing a very good job.

"You're not acting like your usual self. Did something happen that I haven't heard about?" Probably not a good idea to just jump the gun and accuse someone of being an imposter.
@Silver Fox Had a little trouble identifying what parts were spoken to Ariel and what was hallucinations. But I see that it's just the last few lines.
Ariel

@Silver Fox
After a long day, though not quite as long as the last, Ariel headed back toward the Phoenix Wing stands. With any luck no one there would try and kidnap or kill her. On her way she glanced around at everything curiously. The battle was interesting but she wanted to get to the rest of the guild first. On the way she noticed Karn sitting of to himself. As she recalled Karn hadn't been feeling well so it was good to see him up and about. Stepping over she waved hello. "Hi Karn. Good to see that you're on your feet."

The woman that just approached Edo-Karn was not one that she would recognize. Though she sported the guild mark on her left thigh she didn't look like any of the Edo-Phoenix Wing members. And while Ariel didn't know Karn all that well she had watched him enough to tell that this moping was not typical of Karn. "Are you feeling alright? You seem a little... off." Hopefully she wasn't stepping on any toes. There was no telling with Karn sometimes. But the usual cheerful air was not present.
@hatakekuro For the sake of progression I am going to move Ariel along.
Ugh...I hate writing college application essays.

I understand.
