On the notion of 'time powers can fuck up shit'. That is completely true. I intend to possibly use it as a future plot device. I don't think it would have worked with a normal player but I will know how to gauge it as a GM.

I've done time powers before. But I usually prefer making a particular kind of character for that. It didn't fit the RP this time so I went with random.
