Current Now that I have given up video games I should have a lot more time to RP now. I'm sure that I'm not the first person to have declared this but hopefully I won't be the last.

To all those who are awaiting a post from me I'm sorry. I have no excuses. I expect the very best from myself and frankly that kind of pressure brings about some major procrastination.

Alright, no more screwing around. I have to get started on my various projects. I can't let another week go by with nothing done. Lady France awaits and I'm not getting any younger.

I guess this is where I explain myself.

All I can say is that my existence is an endless void occasionally interrupted by passing flashes of light.
Interlaced with a little randomness here and there to, ya know, keep things interesting.

A plate topped with rib bones and a completely empty bowl sat in front of Fiddelsticks on the diner table. He felt satisfied, at least, for now. Nobody in the galaxy hankered for their favourite food moreso than Fiddlesticks. Nobody except for maybe a particularly colossal meganox that just went through a very long and gruelling hunger strike. This was why he joined the crew, this Quest for Flavour, Fiddlesticks thought to himself. That and the adventure stuff of course.

Fiddlesticks surveyed the rest of the diner. He was relieved to find that the people around were going about their business like nothing happened. The waiter bots darted backwards and forth, doing what good waiter bots did. Overall the mood and atmosphere of the diner was back to normal.

His blood froze cold when he saw the Nurr-Slugg patrol ship. He quickly discarded his fears though, for Fiddlesticks knew that if they were in real trouble, then a couple of Vulcan class galactic peacekeeper patrol fighters would be outside instead. They wouldn't be just lazily floating around outside either. Their galactic peacekeeping troopers would've burst through the door in seconds. Fiddlesticks knew a thing or two about how pan stellar law enforcement operated, from experience. Fiddlesticks was pretty sure that Hendersons Ribs diners were neutral territory. That local law enforcement had no jurisdiction on galactic neutral territory. They weren't always stopped by such a law, unfortunately. Why else would Hendersons Ribs diners have the right to use chemical weapons if they didn't have extra judiciary rights?

Fiddlesticks took a gander at the Nurr-Sluggi patrol ship. It looked like rotten gizzards that were still alive, zombie gizzards? "eww" Fiddlesticks said audibly. He sure didn't envy any non Nurr-Sluggi person who had to work on that thing. Fiddlesticks was a bit of a traditionalist when it came to space ships. He felt that ships made from non organic material were easier to maintain, smelled less, and looked shiny. There were some amazing benefits to organic style ships though, Fiddlesticks had to admit.

A fat human approached the table, carrying two bags of food in variously shaped Henderson Ribs doggy bags. Fiddlesticks was both surprised and delighted that the were taking some extra meals for the road. His appreciation for his crew grew that much more.

"Thank. You. For. Visiting," the fat human punctuated his sentences with gasps for breath as he placed the two bags on the table, "Henderson's. Ribs. Your. Custom. Is. Appreciated." He gasped and heaved like a purple neoswine giving birth. Fiddlesticks thought that he would be obese as well, if he worked in a place like this. Constantly surrounded by his favourite food.

"Good call on the extra food guys! I love me some road ribs!" Fiddelesricks announced to the crew. Who's idea was it to get the extra food anyway? Whoever it was, as for as Fiddlesricks was concerned, they were his new best friend.

A moment later Vanessa took the doggy bag boxes and disappeared. She reappeared and disappeared several more times, until there was no more food. Vanessa must've stored them on the ship. She was amazing. "The food has been stored upon the ship, which fixes our supplies problem. We're ready to leave whenever everyone is finished eating." said she with all the beauty and grace of flower petal drifting in the breeze.

"So, we ready to hit the road? Cause I'd like to get to the ship as soon as possible. I wanna get the co-ordinates punched into the auto-pilot right away, so that I can spend less time arguing with the damn thing, and more time getting some shut-eye..." asked the uptight iguana guy of everyone.

"I sure am." Fiddlesticks replied. "Are we ready to leave captain?" Fiddlesticks asked the swarm of bees.

Sorry about the weekend delay, folks. I will re-read up on the IC posts and have a response up in about twelve hours time, barring any unforeseeable kitchen related problems. I hope everyone had a good weekend; I spent most of mine trying to hide my power level amongst alarmingly normal people.

That's perfectly fine. Don't worry about us. You just go at the pace you feel you can manage. We still have a hell of a lot of lore to write up. That's gonna take some time. I thought I had an idea but then I lost it. Maybe it'll come back, maybe.

I personally didn't have a good weekend. I wanted to go to the beach but it had to be raining the whole two days. Hot as balls during the week, rainy during the weekend. Way to go planet earth. Maybe switch it the other way around next time? Just a thought.
In Hiya 10 yrs ago Forum: Introduce Yourself
Plot: Two people meet for dinner in a fancy restaurant down by the waterfront. They meet at the restaurant at 6:00pm on a Friday night. They are seated by the pretty waitress at a rather lovely table by the window overlooking the promenade below, with all the nicely dressed people walking by, enjoying a night out. We enjoy a nice long conversation about our lives. We talk about all sorts of things. To us, this is just another pleasant conversation. To anyone who may be listening though, the conversation is an extremely engrossing one. More than a few eyebrows would be raised over this one.

Setting: The Bella Nuova Roma Italian restaurant. Located on the second floor of the Spencer and Chase building in the waterfront district. The restaurant itself is a marvel of polished mahogany, marble, and beige coloured leather seating. The scene is bathed in saffron light from the various chandeliers and indoor lamp posts. Various white wooden tables and chairs are scattered about. Seating booths line the walls. From where we are seated to my right, your left, we can see a pizza oven to the right, and the opening to the kitchen to its left. Further to the right of the pizza oven we can see a bar that looks like it serves all kinds of alcohol. To my left your right, of course is the massive window that takes up the entire wall. The other walls are lined with white marble reliefs of some of the many works of art found in Rome. The atmosphere overall is luxurious and jubilant yet relaxed.

Characters: I play your best friend, or lover, whichever you choose. We are both in our early twenties. You can be whatever gender you like. The menu is expensive but we can easily afford it. The other characters include the pretty waitress who looks like Ariana Grande, the suave looking bartender, and the loud and rotund chef. Other patrons nearby can be made characters as well if either of us chooses to drag them into the story.

How it's played: After we are seated by the waiter we greet each other. We ask each other how we are and stuff. I then recall some random memories of you and the times we spent together. What I will recall is true, set in stone. What you will have to do then is connect the dots and logically link and rationalise the memories I bring up.

Here's an example.

Me: "Remember that time you crashed that golf cart into the fountain, made out with that mannequin in that posh designer clothes store, streaked through that 50 shades of grey book signing event, and still made it on time to see the musical Cats?"

You: "Yeah I remember. It all started when...."

From then on you link all that I have remembered together into a logical and cohesive short narrative. Very short, at least two paragraphs long. Then you remember some stuff about me. Then I do the same. Back and forth. We can remember stuff that we did together but that will be in a tandem writing style. Here's another example.

Me: "Rememeber when we went to the park that day, the Ducks were fighting over the bread a threw into the pond."

You: "Yeah I do! It was a morning if I recall. After you fed the ducks a swan waddled up with a couple of its cygnets. It started spreading its wings and hissing at us on the park bench."

Me: "Oh I remember. We got up and backed away pretty quick. The swan still followed us though, all the way down the footpath for about thirty meters?"

You: "Some fat middle aged guy walked on by, oblivious to the situation. The swan attack him instead. It pecked him on the butt while he ran, dropping his coffee and newspaper."

Me: "But then it happened......"

And so on.

Any takers?
@Archmage MC

We've not even left the diner, as far as I can recall. I'd say wait to post ship-life stuff.

I'm just waiting for the captain to order us aboard the ship. Either that, or something cooked up by the GM that would cause us to leave the diner and disembark.
<Snipped quote by Hylozoist>

I have always meant to play that game it sounded intriguing. I am writing a series of foot notes about swarm species to add some random history to the galaxy. Not sure how interesting/funny/relevant they will turn out though.

I'm sure that whatever you come up with will be great. We've got a big universe to fill after all.
It doesn't have to be about your character, don't forget. It's probably obvious to everyone but, just in case, if you're going to do a "Meanwhile!" post, please talk it through with the people involved if it's going to be about things in their background and/or character in general. This isn't to say you can't touch on those subjects, just that you should talk it through with them, and that they've got the final say in terms of whether it's okay or not. No blowing up people's home planets in a Meanwhile, you hear me, you crazy kids?

Edit To Add: Something of a heads-up; my posting schedule tends to grind to a halt during the weekends. I'll likely be able to sneak some glances at the site during the weekend, and can probably quickly dash off responses on my phone, but there probably won't be many big, meaty posts to sink your teeth into from me during Saturday and Sunday!

So these meanwhile posts give each of us the freedom to add to the lore of the
Interplanetary Space Friends universe? I'm so into that! How do you feel about adding additional side villains? Of course we would all have to have a big group discussion before adding another main villain, just to keep things easier and more manageable for you of course. We wouldn't want the universe to be filled with ultra powerful super saiyan, vampire, Sith Lord, practically god like people of any kind. That would just break things. Neither should we add anything that would overshadow the main plot and render it pointless in comparison. Man, this is going to be a lot of work. Are you sure you want a maniac like me to have this kind of power!?

Well anyways, I'm sure we can survive a whole weekend without you. I'm not sure some of the others though. Perhaps blankets and hot chocolate will have to be handed out in order to cope. I would so be up for those things myself if it wasn't so god forsakenly hot where I am right now.
Fiddlesticks decided to finish the rest of his honey bruised ribs and sweet potato fries before thinking any further about the mission. His giant wrench lay in the dinner table in front of him. Glistening in gloriously polished stainless steel. It was used for screwing and unscrewing the larger nuts and bolts on the engine and throughout the ship. Fiddlesticks carried it around with him for he considered it his lucky charm. It seemed that whenever he had it around, good things happened. Maybe it was luck? Or perhaps maybe, simply, the mere fact that Fiddlesticks had the giant spanner strapped to his back made him feel more confident. Whatever the case may be, the giant spanner has gotten Fiddlesticks out of trouble before, and it will do so again.

For the life of him Fiddlesticks couldn't think of anything more to add. He tended to be the type of person who went with the flow though he wasn't afraid to speak up and challenge others when something wasn't quite right. He agreed with what the others said about not being ready for space combat. The weapons systems and the general functionality of the ship were several upgrades away from being ready for anything hardcore. They were just starting out on their adventure after all. A bunch of amateurs they were still. Upon further consideration, Fiddlesticks thought that choosing to go help throw a party would be a great first mission for the amateurish crew of the quest for flavour. Perhaps he could find one of his childhood bullies there. A clue maybe?

"Yeah, you know. I'm up for whatever." Fiddlesticks said aloud to the crew. He swung his giant wrench over his left shoulder with his left hand and holstered it in its special holding strap on his back. He figured that the crew would be leaving the diner soon. Not soon enough Fiddlesticks thought.
