Moosepaw: Camp

Interacting with: @PrankFox

Moosepaw listened intently to Duskwing, feeling a bit more invigorated at her words. Nodding to Duskwing, Moosepaw started to go back to the apprentices den for what could possibly be the last time before his warrior assessment. He had a lot to think on and consider before the assessment and getting some rest would be for the best. Once he wandered in to the apprentices den he went to his sleeping area to rest for awhile. Once he laid down and his mind began to wander upon what could be waiting for him and the clan in the future he began to feel dread once again.

Moosepaw could feel something looming over WillowClan, what it was he wasn't sure, but it was something of note. He knew he had to be ready and that involved becoming a warrior and taking more responsibility on for himself... He wouldn't let what happened to his mother happen to his clan, he would make sure of it. By any means necessary.
Moosepaw: Camp

Moosepaw was so lost in thought that he missed Stonefall come over and ask him how his training had been going. Seeing him walk away with a promise to come back later to hear how his training had been going brought Moosepaw from his thoughts. I need to be more alert, I shouldn't be so lost in thought that I don't even notice the deputy come over and speak to me... Looking rather sad Moosepaw looked over as Duskwing came over and bumped his shoulder. "I didn't even notice him at all, I'm a little bit to lost in thought about my upcoming warrior ceremony. What if I don't do well? I'm having some anxiety over it... I'm also a little sad you won't get to train me anymore," Moosepaw wasn't quite sure what to think about the future but it would be changing and he would have far more responsibility... while he did his best to put up a front as a good warrior in reality he felt a lot of anxiety around the idea... not that also took away his enthusiasm to finally be named a warrior. "That's not to say I don't want to be a warrior, I really really do but I do doubt myself sometimes and it bothers me that I do have these doubts... and I would never think that I was better then anyone else. We're all in this together."

Looking over at the newly minted Honeypaw, Moosepaw thought it would be a good idea to go over and congratulate the apprentice. As Moosepaw walked over to Honeypaw he thought to himself At least the apprentice den won't be so lonely anymore. It's very quiet being in there by yourself at night. Shaking those thoughts out of his head Moosepaw reached Honeypaw and leaned down to look the she-cat in the eye to give a quick appraisal. Nodding to himself, Moosepaw said "You'll grow up to be a strong warrior. I can see it in your eyes. Spidernose will hone that potential I see in there. If you ever need someone to talk to. I'm always available."

Moosepaw sat down in front of the young apprentice and then went on to say "I can see it your eyes that you're also a little nervous, that's perfectly natural. I can still remember my apprentice ceremony..." Moosepaw looked over to the left as if remembering a fond memory. Even though he himself was still young, he acted much older then his age would imply. "I hope we can be friends Honeypaw."
Moosepaw: Back to camp

After finishing training with Duskwing, Moosepaw started to head back toward camp feeling tired from the days activities. I need to get some rest, but before I do I should check in with Honeykit, it's almost time for his apprentice ceremony. Sluggishly moving onward Moosepaw did his best to remain vigilant outside of camp, doing his best to fight off the exhaustion from the days activities while also being excited at the prospect of becoming a warrior.

After several minutes of walking back to camp and attempting to catch a mouse, Moosepaw walked back into the center of camp, longing for his spot in the apprentices den only to hear Fernstar call for a meeting I guess sleeping will have to wait, but some fresh kill does not. Grabbing a bit of rabbit from the fresh kill pile, Moosepaw settled down within view of the Highstump munching on a piece of rabbit thigh, looking on in amusement as Honeykit scrambled over to Fernstar. I remember my apprentice ceremony, just like it was yesterday. I'll have to congratulate Honeykit later on.
Moosepaw: Training

Moosepaw flinched several times at the blows Duskwing was able to rain down on him. She may not look it but she had muscle behind her blows. Taking the opportunity Moosepaw launched both of his hind legs into Duskwing's stomach and began to repeatedly land 6 blows into her soft underbelly. Using those same blows Moosepaw launched himself out from underneath her making sure to protect his underbelly.... Moosepaw got back to his feet and began to move and circle around Duskwing trying his best to not sit still. Speed was his friend here and as long as he kept moving then he should be able to keep Duskwing from doing that again.

I need to topple Duskwing over, lets try and get on her back. Moosepaw did his best to keep to Duskwing's backside and once he was slightly to her side he pounced. Landing on the top of Duskwing's back Moosepaw used all his strength to topple her over. Once knocked over Moosepaw went for the throat and hit it's underside with his sheathed paws several times.
Moosepaw: Training

Moosepaw flinched at getting tumbled over by Duskwing. Maybe he should have thought about her using those hind legs to pummel his stomach. I shouldn't be so flashy, I need to be more practical. Hearing that Duskwing wanted him to practice defensive moves, Moosepaw moved into a more defensive position keeping his muscles loosely tense. Moosepaw eyed Duskwing critically waiting to see what she did. When he saw her puff up he had to try his best to hold in a snicker. Duskwing looks so funny with all of her hair puffed up like that... focus Moosepaw, focus. Thinking critically, Moosepaw thought to himself, I should wait until she gets close and then use my speed to get behind her... I can do a lot more if I stay away from the front paws.

Once Duskwing got closer to Moosepaw, he used his speed to dash around the side of whatever animal Duskwing was pretending to be and raked his sheathed paws across the side of her coat and backed up once again, doing his best to keep his stance loose to take better advantage of his speed and this creatures apparent lack of speed.
Moosepaw: Training

Moosepaw looked back over and saw a tree near Duskwing, thinking quickly to himself, Maybe I can use that tree to my advantage, it might be a little over the top but I want to show her what I can do. moving into another charging tackle Moosepaw shot straight at Duskwing, dodging by her at the last second he bounded up the tree to get a bit of height on her. Using every agile bone in his body he jumped off the tree and twisted in the air and aimed to use the full weight of his body to get the pounce on her. Crashing into her body with his sheathed paws they both went tumbling with Moosepaw landing on top of her triumphantly. "How did you like that? I'm trying my best to use misdirection like you taught me."
Moosepaw: Training

Moosepaw flinched a little at the paw that racked across his side. Turning around he realized what needed to happen. Dipping low he got into a strong low stance and eyed Duskwing. Tensing his body in anticipation he rushed toward Duskwing and thought to himself, I need to use my size to my advantage and take into account Duskwing's agility. Approaching Duskwing as quickly as he could, Moosepaw lead with a charging tackle and right before he struck her he ducked low and got underneath her. Using his strength he used his momentum to flip her up into the air. From there he used both of his paws and struck her on the side as she came back down. Backing up, Moosepaw maintained a low tensed crouch and kept his eyes trained on Duskwing, trying to gauge what she might do next.
Moosepaw: Training

Moosepaw's eyes gained a serious look to them, he knew he needed to show his mentor his absolute best because she deserved nothing less. Taking a moment to analyze the situation Moosepaw asked "What would you like to do first? You've taught me a lot after all." Duskwing was always very serious when they trained together, which made sense but perhaps it was up to him for now... "I think this time I'll take the lead" Crouching very low and keeping his stance loose to allow for fluidity of movement, Moosepaw said "Perhaps we should start with some clan fighting techniques that you've taught me, do you want me to make the first move?"

Although Moosepaw had a cool collected face on the outside, Moosepaw was feeling a little overwhelmed on the inside. He thought to himself I'm not use to taking the lead... I know it's something I have to get use to but it does make me nervous.

Moosepaw: WillowClan Camp

Moosepaw looked over at Duskwing and said "I already had some of the rabbit that we caught earlier, I think I'm good to go in regards to food for the moment." waving his tail excitedly Moosepaw gestured toward the entrance to camp "Can we go to the normal spot?" Moosepaw started to head off in the direction of the normal training spot feeling a grand sense of excitement completely forgetting about the ominous feeling he had earlier, after all nothing could ruin this moment... he was almost ready to receive his warrior name!

Taking a moment once he was at the entrance to camp, Moosepaw composed himself for training to begin. Outside of camp was wild territory and one always had to be alert and levelheaded once outside of camp. He also had to wait for his mentor to leave camp first with him... after all no apprentices were suppose to leave camp on their own, and Moosepaw was the best apprentice he could be.
