I went and found the rest of my soul being guarded by a giant floating rock and punched it. My soul, I mean. Not the rock. I yelled at that.

Martin & Nessa

West Commons - The Pale Horse
8:15 PM.

It had taken Martin a little bit to recover from the magical stupor the the Succubi had placed upon him. And, with his luck, as soon as he got over it she returned, refiling his drink. One of her bat like wings wrapped around his shoulder and she slid into the stool next to him. His eyes turned to watch her. He wasn't feeling entranced for once, and he knew that she could tell. Her body language was less flirty and more serious. Her face had a fierce smirk to it rather than an inviting smile. He took off his hat and lifted it a few inches above his scalp before placing it back down. He smiled and so did she.

"Sorry about that earlier, it's part of the job. I'm on break now." Nessa explained, dropping her wing from his shoulder and folding it against her back again. "So, what's new?" She questioned, crossing her legs and leaning against the bar. Martin hummed and reached into his coat, pulling out his new badge. "I was made a Hand today!" he just about exclaimed. Nessa looked at the badge, then to him and then to the badge again and squealed, grabbing Martin in a hug. "Congratulations hun!" she said. Nessa had, for a long time, wanted to become a Hand. Martin had shared the same opinion on the matter but was quieter about it. He felt he was less deserving of it gratification.

The night after was a blur. Nessa eventually got Martin as buzzed as she could and when she got off work helped him home. It wasn't until she got him in bed did she feel a pang. Demons always felt it when something bad was about to happen.

Nessa slept on the couch to make sure Martin was alright, as she didn't trust him alone after she felt whatever IT was. She was right however, as soon as he stumbled into the living room, the announcement ran out. Their eyes met.

They both knew Martin wouldn't fight. But he sure as hell could care for the wounded. Even more so with her help.

Henry stood up just as another person entered the room. Some man looking for Tobias. Another question he had no answer to. Now he wished he hadn't made Sarah leave. "Oh, uh, I'm actually not sure where exactly he is right now," Henry said, standing back up to his full height with Selena's help. "But, he did say he's going to speak with the Headmaster. His lad assistant, Sarah, should be around here somewhere.", he finished, then turned his attention to his own deputy.

"Hey, hey, Selena, I think you might have some brown on your nose." Henry replied to the shedding/weight loss comment. He looked to the newcomer. "I apologize, but you must excuse us, we have some pressing matters to attend to for now." he said curtly, nodding to the man in premature thanks. He followed Selena our the door following closely behind her and listening to her talk. Upon being questioned regarding their durability, he finally spoke up. [b]"Thank you for the compliment, I think?"[b] he said, first, before continuing. "Well, you saw the pictures of the creature itself. Looks like something straight our of Alien Vs. Predator.", he commented. [b]"I don't know first hand how tough they are, but enough so to take on several meta humans and still hold a distinctive advantage. From when I've gathered it's very intelligent and clever, as if it knows what it's doing. This could be more than an attack. This could be a form of... twisted homicide for all we know."[b] he said, stopping for a moment at the same time Selena did, almost as if they were in sync, as a young girl ran past them. When she was gone, he resumed. "The pictures we had were of one that was killed after killing several other students. When I went to do an autopsy, the creature's body was gone. Blackmore said that there's no way it's still alive so if he's right, we're dealing with someone who disposed of the body. We're working against a currently unknown force with an unknown amount of manpower." he said, taking a breath. "Meaning we could be dealing with a Roach."

A Roach, in NEST, was a term for an unknown person who had knowledge of the situation and was actively hindering forensic progress. A pest, and a problem that needed to be exterminated or eliminated. Roaches often covered their tracks and were hard to find. Once a roach's identity was found, they became a Rat.

Henry rumbled in response to Selena's thanks as he opened her door for her. As he unpacked, he continued their banter. "Please, Selena, I wouldn't be here if I didn't have ass kicking clearance. I'll be baby-sitting you in the woods at night. Don't you worry." Henry said, winking at her and crossing his arms, leaning against the doorway. The walls groaned against his weight and Henry scrambled back to avoid causing damage. His previous comment had raised another question though.

"How long until... that time of the month?" He questioned, tapping his toe claw on the floor. He quickly caught himself though, and tried to cover himself and proceeded to trip over his own words a few times. "Not-not that time, I mean the moon. I need to know when you're at biggest risk for... becoming something out of a Twilight novel. I know the moon and stuff influences that, right?" he questioned, walking over to her to look at her small armory. He whistled. "Damn girl, I only have an elephant gun and my suit's goodies. I have a spare vest in my room I'll have to you by tonight. Just show the school's security team your NEST badge. They can't deny you anything." he said, his scaly lips curling upwards into a crocodile smile.

"The only attack we've have so far has been at night with no day sightings, so we can only assume these things are nocturnal." Henry stated. "We can set some traps as soon as you're ready before the sun sets. But tonight, our first hunt is on."
Shoot. I'll get right on that. Sorry Shade.
I'm alive still, but I havent been able to get on in a while. Work's been killing me.
A combination of not being able to be on the computer, not having the time to read, and not being mentioned until now as to let me know to MAKE time to read kinda puts a hamper on things.
His shithead powers are too POWERFUL TO BE BEATEN.
Coca-Cola was invented in 1886 and went into mass production in 1889.

It's 1884 or something. So close enough.
Martin & Nessa

West Commons - The Pale Horse
8:00 PM.

Martin walked into the Pale Horse, one of his favorite bars. Sure, it was a healthy distance from his home, which was on the other side of the West Commons so that he had to want to go in order to actually get there, but not too far as to warrant it beyond a night's walking distance. It was a comfortable place and despite having an apartment and a comfortable place to lay his head when he slept the day's labors away, it wasn't uncommon for him to drop a few coin to simply sleep in the building's comfortable atmosphere. He never came to get drunk. As a Chupacabra, his liver and his body's metabolism functioned too well to actually reach that stage. He came for the company.

"Look at you, tall, grey, and handsome!"

Martin perked up somewhat and turned his head to get a look to the source of the voice that he knew all too well. Nessa, which was short for her full name that she had refused to tell him approached. She was average height but gorgeous, which was to be expected. She had an hourglass figure and wide hips and a large bust, a cute feminine face, large eyes and the most beautiful silver hair he had ever seen, which fell down to her mid-back. Her skin was an orangey color and her eyes were slitted and red. She more than likely had wings as well that were concealed under her clothing. Behind were was a thin, red tail that ended in a heart shaped spade. Out of her hair were two short slightly curved horns. Save for these few differences, she looked very human. She stepped towards him, flaunting her hips suggestively as she did so, and promptly poked him in the center of the face.

"You're starting to grow a nose! Going for a look that's less Martian Man-Hunter and more creep-ass?"

Martin groaned and have her the middle finger, to which she laughed. She draped her arm across his shoulders and got a bit closer than normal to him. "So what can I get for you?"

"Uh-water ple-" he began, only for her to quite literally disappear in a puff of smoke and reappear holding a glass of an invention hers.

Jack and coke. Based upon the recently invented soft drink titled "Coca Cola" and often shortened to "Coke". Jack was a whiskey and coke was just that. It wasn't that bad actually. "Enjoy, hun." Nessa said, winking at Martin and walking off. Martin in the mean time turned around and stared off into space attempting to figure out what the hell just happened. She ALWAYS did this to him, without fail. This was what, the thirtieth time now?
