Tinuviel looked between the two paths as Aika and Fumi discussed directions. He didn't want to laugh over Fumi not remembering, but as she herself laughed about it, he joined with a small chuckle. Yeah, it made sense that Fumi normally let others lead the way,

"You should keep trying," he said, "the only way to improve is through practice and training, after all." At least, that's what his parents told him when he talked about his trouble working alone. Fumi then asked which between him and Aika should lead the mission, to which Aika explained that leadership was normally her responsibility when the rest of their team was busy with other things.

"If that's the way you normally do things, then it's probably better if Aika leads," Tinuviel said, touching a wingtip to his chin. "She knows the way the two of you work best, so it'll be easier for her than me." He grinned back at Fumi, "Yeah, that sounds fine."

@ Veradana Maybe Shoko could have stood up for Hotaru on the few occasions where she's seen the latter being bullied? Perhaps Shoko, while the thought was there, never really did enough to do anything beyond stop the immediate instances of bullying that she saw, not knowing the extent of it while also being unsure how to even help more if it was worse than what she saw.

Yeah, that sounds good! I think it would also be interesting just to see them play off each other since Shoko seems to have such a forceful personality compared to Hotaru.

Hotaru Fujioka

Name: Hotaru Fujioka

Age: 16

Personality: Hotaru is a quiet, soft-hearted person around people she’s unfamiliar with. She hides it well, but it’s not hard to make her cry, and bullies have learnt to take advantage of her apparent spinelessness. The reality of the situation is that she believes that if she fought back she’d be the one who would get in trouble. When at school, she mostly tries to keep her head down and out of attention. She has a few close friends she feels she can be open with and is much more relaxed and cheerful when it’s just the small group.
She often feels sort of aimless in life, not being really excelling at anything academically, or being particularly interested in any given subject.

Appearance: Hotaru is 175 cm (5’9”) tall, but slouches a bit to hide it, and has an average build. She has a pointy face with sharp, narrow eyes and high cheekbones, and she tends to get mistaken for glaring at people. Her black hair is naturally curly, but the schools she’s attended have made her straighten it, so it has some heat damage. Despite the damage, she keeps her hair long enough that it almost reaches her chest, but doesn’t otherwise do much with it. Because of her height, she wasn’t able to get a girl’s uniform that fit and instead wears a male one, although it doesn’t seem to fit quite right either. Her casual clothes tend to be very plain.

Backstory: Hotaru’s mother abandoned the family when Hotaru was only a couple years old, so she has no memories of the woman. In fact, Hotaru sometimes jokes that she has more memories of the housekeeper her father hired to take care of her when she was a child than her actual mother. Once she started going to school, the housekeeper wasn’t needed and is no longer working for the family. She’s not really sure what she’s should feel about her mother, not knowing anything about her. Hotaru’s father hardly talks about the woman he had married, only that his parents didn’t approve, resulting in a falling out between them. They’re part of a branch of an old family, but Hotaru and her father have next to nothing to do with the extended Fujioka clan.

Even with just her father around, Hotaru has a good home life, and she trusts him enough that she’ll go to him with problems. Although, she’s become more reluctant to tell him about the bullying she’s received, since all it does is worry him, and his complaints to the school haven’t gotten any results.

She’s part of the school choir and enjoys singing and is pretty decent at it, but doesn’t make an effort to stand out.
Hotaru started playing the Demon Summoning Program on a whim when she saw it advertised on the app store as something new. Although she normally stuck to rhythm games, she got the hang of the rpg gameplay. She mostly just tried to collect demons she thought were cute and was vaguely disappointed that there weren’t any frog-like demons.

Tinuviel nodded in agreement before racing off alongside Aika. He smiled to himself at the nickname Fumi had given him. It certainly would be interesting working with these two. It was a shame that they hadn't had much time to work together during chore duty, but that came more from them having been there longer than him. They could probably have some fun talking together once the work was done. Now was no time for goofing off, especially since they'd be looking after a child. Fumi seemed serious enough, if a little impatient. Well, Tinuviel thought, wanting to get the job done promptly was admirable too.

The duo from Team Rhythm was naturally already waiting at the town gate by the time he got there. He hoped he hadn't kept them waiting long. It was important for him to make a good impression on his seniors. He could almost hear them chatting to each other as he flew over, and he caught the tail-end of their conversation: they expected to reach Treasure Town by lunch, and that the three of them would leave as soon as he joined up with them. Also that Aika couldn't remember his name. Would it be too awkward to remind her?

"Yes, sorry to keep you," he said, deciding against re-introducing himself, "I'm ready to head out as soon as you are."
