Stop being passive aggressive. Just be aggressive.

It is certainly not 'optimal', but it *is* doable, depending on what you want to do with it. You could go swords or valor bard and play them more like a warrior with some magical ability

DEPLOYMENT

The warning screamed across Sara's eyes for a second as she noted the pair of T-47s deploying from the Vitae. The Nighthawks, 11th Squadron were a squadron of primarily scout pilots- though quite capable in strike fighters as well, as they all were, they specialized with the scout-ships, whereas folks like Sara specialized in fighters. Sara personally disliked flying the delicate, temperamental T-47. Sure, having all that tech was nice, but it felt like flying a china vase through a hailstorm. Much to her dismay, these ships weren't even armed with missiles, but rather, sported ECM pods.

Plans from Sgt. Calhound, involved the T-47s skimming the hull of the ship with these ECM pods whilst the Barracudas and Grave Robbers babysat them. A plan that Sara wasn't too keen on- especially with the enemy closing in on them, and with the fact that there were so few of them. With a reluctant growl, Sara keyed her comms and confirmed.

"Roger that, Grave Robbers ready for baby-sitting duty."

They had a scant few minutes before the Devastators were upon them, and why the CAG thought it was a good idea to run electromagnets over the hull, but orders were orders and Sara wasn't too keen on getting court martialed after her first sortie. The T-47s began their runs over the Vitae's hull, over the close watch of the Barracudas and Grave Robbers. They had no visual confirmation that whatever they were doing was working, so they'd just have to put faith on Chief Calhound's plan and hope it didn't bite them in the ass. Sara kept a sharp eye on her radar, making sure that the Devastators didn't get too close to them- if they got too close for comfort, Sara and the rest of her command would engage the Devastators- Calhound's orders be damned.

"I don't like this Twitch." Called Setter, the squadron leader for Barracudas, over the comms. He wasn't too keen on the idea of babysitting instead of engaging either.

"None of us are. Lets just feel it out." Sara replied over the open comms. Opening a private channel with Setter via her Smart-Vision, she relayed different opinions.

We've got no more than a few minutes before the Devastators are on us, we'll keep the squadrons towards the tail end of the Vitae- Once those Devastators hit the 10km range marker, we engage and we send them all to hell.

Roger that.
I've been putting off posting for a while- lots of schoolwork and other priorities that don't give me enough time to sit down and power through a post. Luckily for me, tomorrow is a huge break so I'll be able to settle down and give this big post something worth while. - tomorrow being wednesday which is technically today.
@Maxwell you can pick an existing one or create one of your own. And yes, a bigger engine holds more power, but each chassis size tells you what size engine they have, so there will be no 20 core engine.

Generally,
Light = 3 core
Medium = 4 core
Heavy = 6 core

If you notice, the next-gen models have generally more powerful engines than when compared to current gen machines, which gives them an advantage, which is sort of the point- but most of my pre-made units are purposefully unoptimized, in order to balance that out. All player made machines will be current gen machines.
@The Dow Dragon Oh oops, I forgot to change that bit around, but the as the FNG you can choose to get either the AK-47 Of MAS: the Ferir II, or a Fafnir with his choice of combat package.
In case anyone is interested... roleplayerguild.com/topics/150339-fall..
Cool cool, go ahead and make a Character sheet, I've also updated the OP with an example character.

Falling Skies: Tigres Team

It is year 2899. Humanity has long since conquered the stars around them. The resources and riches from their conquests had brought the human race into an Golden Age of technological advancement. Powerful self sustaining AI's were developed to aid humans and their machines, and cyborg parts allowed cripples and the weak to continue working for society.With the advent of AI, biotech and cybertechnology several centuries prior, the advancement of humanity has grown exponentially. Starships of massive proportions were built, floating worlds in space were created, massive Utopia cities on lush green planets were erected. Worlds beyond even what humanity thought were possible were discovered. Wars weren't fought, the human race was too busy expanding at a breakneck pace. Life was perfect. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

And then it did. By the year 2480, Humanity had overextended itself; the great sprawling empire it had forged had become too large for it to support itself. The empire collapsed onto itself. In the course of 20 years, the mighty empire humanity had established splintered into thousands of factions. The fall of the Empire resulted in a massive power vacuum and the Galaxy erupted into a large feudal war. Some factions grew power by warring with other factions, taking them over; others stayed secluded for as long as they could. Many were taken back by the earth empire, and just as many were lost in deep space.

By the 25th Century, most of the numerous factions had consolidated into 3 major powers: The original Earth Empire, the largest and most numerous of the 3 powers, made up of most of the core empire planets; The Coalition, a group of separatists strictly opposed to the Earth Empire, spanning across most of colonial space; and the Krellian Republic, a reclusive, bizarre group focused mainly along the outskirts of known space. The Earth Empire and the Coalition fight bitterly, the Empire seeking to reclaim their lost territory, and the Coalition fighting for a new order in the galaxy. The Krellians choose to stay out of the conflict, their faraway frontier colonies too far away to be bothered by the other two factions.

By the turn of the 26th century, the Earth Empire and the Coalition had suffered dreadful casualties on both sides, and just as many worlds lost in the splintering had been razed by both sides. The two superpowers agreed to an uneasy truce. That marked the start of an intergalactic cold war, as the two superpowers begin a buildup of military strength and engage in proxy wars with smaller nations and colonies.

As the end of the 28th century drew near, unprovoked attacks by the UEE against Coalition planets has sparked up and reignited the flames of war. After almost 300 years of peace, war between the Coalition and the Empire had renewed in earnest. Millions of people from both sides are drafted as fleets of starships and planets are thrown into vicious war. The Coalition forces take advantage of the Empire’s overextended lines to take victory after victory by utilizing a new type of fighting machine: Mobile Armor Suits, a humanoid fighting machine much more maneuverable than conventional aircraft and ground units, and effective in most environmental situations.

In an attempt to counter the new threat and reorganize their military efforts, the Empire attempts to assemble their own Mobile Armor Suits, and succeed, and while are technologically superior to some of the aging Coalition designs, still lacks effective pilots and abilities. Still, a combination of their new Mobile Armor Suits, and the Empire's superior infrastructure and greater numbers have forced the war into yet another standstill.

Task Force Omega, an elite unit from the Coalition Mobile Armor Division plans a daring series of attacks against a thinly spread UEE in an attempt to turn the tides of the war. The Tigres Team is tasked with disrupting a transport convoy and capturing a member of the Imperial Family.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the second interest check for "Falling Skies: 7th Tigres Team"! This particular RP will follows the adventures of a group of men and women from the Coalition's Mobile Armor Division. I will be accepting up to four players, so this is not first come first served. This is a Robo-Suit-like RP, reminiscent of Gundam and Robotech, Front Mission and Super Robot Wars. Unlike typical Gundam series, I aim to make this RP seem more realistic and gritty and have implemented several systems to make these giant robots feel more like advancements of technology rather than than over-the-top, with super maneuvers capable of destroying dozens of enemies at a time.

Plot and Context:

We the players will play the role of the Tigres Team, an elite squadron from the Coalition C-MAD, as they assault a valuable UEE target in order to turn the tides of the war. Our story will be dramatic and tense as we attempt to prevail over insurmountable odds. Our characters will face daunting challenges, testing their wit and willpower, as well as their morals as they are pushed to their absolute limits in this RP that blends the humanity and melodrama of a space opera, with giant robots.

The following are the Character Skeletons for the Tigres Team. The CS's are a 2 part set. The first part is your character, the pilot. The second part is your MAS, which you can make using the builder above.

Player Roles

I am a personal fan of smaller scale RPs, as such, I will only be accepting 4-5 other players to join me in this adventure. While you are free to make your character however you like, acceptance to this RP will be judged by me, and is not on a first come, first served basis. While not necessary, there are several roles I would like to see filled:
  • The FNG (The Fucking New Guy) - This player should be among the youngest members of the team, as well as the least experienced. He has many roles, such as serving as the pseudo focus of the RP as the 'impressionable youngster', as well as likely having a brighter, likely more positive outlook than the rest of the gritty, scarred veterans that make up the rest of the team. He also serves as a convenient reason for characters/npcs to explain and describe the lore that, while known to the characters in the world, is otherwise new or unknown to the players themselves. He will either be broken down mentally and physically and reforged into a newer, stronger person through the fires of war, or serve as a beacon of hope for the rest of the team. - The new guy will also begin his career piloting a MAS of my choosing, though he will be the first to receive an upgraded unit.
  • The Scarred Veteran - in contrast to the New Guy, the veteran will be among the oldest- if not the oldest member of the squadron. He/she will likely be the most jaded and cynical member of the team, and will likely be the reliable backbone of the team. The veteran will also be given some special responsibilities later down the line, and will also be privy to some information before the rest of the group.

The rest of of the roles will be normal squad members, with preferably varied personalities to keep this RP fresh and unique.

Who's game?

I believe it's just general posting at the moment.

aye
"Some people get all the fun," K-Ton remarked lazily as their Sergeant gave them their new orders, which was to split up their already small team to take the objective. It was a bit unfortunate, K-Ton didn't think Alpha would have any trouble watching the roof on their own- that's what they were already doing before Bravo got set up anyway. But at the same time, they were dug in pretty well here, and there as no point in abandoning a set-up post if they didn't have to. Either way, not that his nap was over, K-Ton was starting to get antsy, it looked like a fight between the protesters and guards would erupt any second now, and K-Ton really didn't like the idea of being caught between them.

"Bravo Team? Do you confirm the deployment of CS gas? Berne?!"

"Corporal Kensington, assuming temporary control of Bravo Rooftop element, our squad leader is dealing with some intruders, recommend hold off on CS for now. No use in riling up these protesters any more than they already are."

"Oh, that felt good."
K-Ton sniggered as he turned off his transmitter, so only himself and Stick could hear. "Its always worth it putting Sgt. Rowles in his place."

K-Ton could almost see Alpha team's leader fuming from his rooftop across the street. Alpha wouldn't launch CS without confirmation from Bravo, and vice versa. If only one side of the street fired CS, it'd be a quick guess to find out where the CS came from and then their cover would be blown. If both sides fired CS at the same time, it would force the protesters back down the street from whence they came, allowing the guards to round up any stragglers and break up their groups. The protesters definitely had power in numbers, but they had tech and tactics. Still, K-Ton kept his finger wrapped around the grenade launcher's trigger, and kept it leveled at the streets below. More and more people were pouring in, and the mob was getting increasingly irate. It was like watching water slowly drip into a full glass- it would dome up and fill to past its capacity, but eventually it would pop, and water would start pouring out of the glass and onto the table below, however in this case, the table was pavement, and the water was blood.

Up on the roof, where Iron and Luciel watched the armed men below, they could see more arms being handed off by what appeared to be militiamen in plainclothes. More alarmingly, another group of some dozen armed men approached a building across the street- where their resident neighbors, Alpha team had set been set up. The armed men stood around for a bit, trying to look inconspicuous before a few of them entered the building. One of the men across the street gave a thumbs up, to which the group of men below them responded in a similar manner. While most of them held assault rifles, the sharp eye could pick out the glint of DMR scopes in their groups.

As Berne and Fours descended down the staircase, they could hear the rapid patter of thick leather feet running across marble floor. The footfalls were rapid enough that they couldn't tell how many pairs of feet were in the building, but there were definitely more than one or two. As Berne and Fours rounded a corner, they came face to face with a protester who simultaneously rounded the opposite corner. The protester froze up, his pistol raised just like the ODSTs, but his grip shaky, and clearly unprofessional. The protester had goggles pressed up to his forehead, and had been wearing a bandanna, but it was around his neck instead of over his face at the moment, his shoddy clothes seemed dirty and somewhat torn but befitting of a ragged guerrilla. He looked no older than 17.
