He closed the interface in front of him with a swift swipe of his hand and lifted his head towards the surrounding field. His job was done. The sword was quickly sheathed back to his side and proceeded to hold the teleport stone in his hand to head back to town and return the 'Sturdy Bone' back to a friend. He looked below the stone as he held it up, a person was walking by-- well out of the way of enemies. He lowered the stone and stared as she walked by before putting it back and began walking towards them curiously. He quickly sped towards her direction until he reached a talking distance. "Nice place to walk, eh?" He casually conversed.

As VR-Games continued to thrive within the past for years, the game Sword Art Online was released along with its VR Gear. The game was a massive success. Aren, being the one who caught the early worm had his money saved up for the so-called Sword Art Online and purchased his copy as soon as they were available. Everything changed from then on... Everybody knew the story.

The initial shock seemed overwhelming, but a handful of people including Aren banded together to form an alliance. A secret Alliance between players whom would share information and resources together to help survive this game. Aren had chosen to be a guildless agent within the alliance.

That's understandable. What I wrote were examples of what it could be like. A weapon can't simply just have a Stat of 1 on out of 10 for everything. A weapon has its own set of stats as a starter. With power nodes, they are enhanced.

Also, I thought all weapons we had started at 1 / 10? Most items you get at the first of the game aren't bumped past 3 / 10 initially, and most of the time it's 2 / 10 anyway, if we're using that system.

Some of the items would have several stats already jotted into them as base stats. They would not start at 1.

E.g.

Plasma Cutter
DMG: 4 / 8
REL: 5 / 10
RoF: 3 / 7
CAP: 6 / 10

Id it is more scarce, then we should keep the KISS method. What do you need the node for? Thats what it will give. Fpr example: if you meed your plasma cutter to cut with more intensity for a deeper wound, use a power node and it does just that. Need to fire quicker with that Pulse Rifle? The power node does just that.

Instead of a ten-scale, just a brief explanation.

@VKAllen Are you busy? Think you could help us out? I'm too afraid to play Dead Space again, it practically gives me a heart attack with my weak heart. If you could map out the upgrade routes that'd be great

I apologise for the late response. @ClocktowerEchos pretty much nails it in terms of nodes with different specific properties. However anymore questions should arise for a closer inspection, feel free to @ mention me. I'll try to keep an eye out.

EDIT: I must also mention that the upgrade circuit for an RP should not be as complicated as the original games. Empty nodes are annoying to fill even in the game, so the RP shouldn't have it. However, that also means the frequency of which a Node can be obtained must also be 'sparingly'.

Here's a quick example of how an upgrade for this RP may look like;

DMG : 8 / 8 (Cuts limbs with ease)
REL : 10 / 10 (Push a button and voila!)
(above-mentioned is not very relevant unless you use a dice-roll... But what the hell. Gives you an idea of how easy you can reload a weapon...)
RoF : 7 / 7 (Trigger-Happy players heaven)
(above-mentioned is commonly known as SPD or Speed, but speed means nothing in an RP setting... I usually associate Speed with how well the weapon handles. SPD More useful if its a dice-roll setting.)
CAP : 7 / 7 (It's like a hand-cannon with more bullets)

[Javelin Launcher]
STAT : Current / Highest
DMG : 10 / 10 (Penetrates deep *oh yeah*)
REL : 8 / 8 (Auto-Reload feature, nifty)
RoF : 6 / 6 (It's like everything is a pinning board)
CAP : 5 / 5 (Pins more things)
ALT : 10 / 10 (What necromorph?)

I gave both weapons generous + fully upgraded scores to my 'balanced' preferences... Although it may be skewed.
