I've been RPing for about 10 years on and off, and I secretly want to be a writer. I'm a casual/advance RPer with a distaste for character sheets and extensive templating. I just want to write well with others.

Creative collaboration brings me so much joy, so please don't hesitate to message me if you're interested in telling a story together!

The purple light from the lantern mingled with the orange of the fire, casting an eerie shade on Robin and what was left of Eveline. She stood staring silently at the scene in front of her, unsure what to do when MC rushed past, her poncho and trinkets violently whipping in the wind.

“Wait!” She exclaimed and reached out, merely to brush the tips of the flowing cloth. She could do nothing but stand by Eveline and watch as the woman ran to the crank in the middle of the bridge after the first section of the bridge on either side had folded onto itself.

The bridge groaned with each turn on the handle, and the folded sections of the bridge slowly stretched themselves to the shore; it happened in the span of a few seconds, no one showing any signs of ill intent. She heard the faint proclamation of good will from the boy holding the green lantern behind the metallic sounds of metal grinding upon metal.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw a blue light on the other side of the bridge, and watched breathlessly as a large panther shaped itself around another boy with a stone hanging around his neck. It leapt into the water, and MC still hadn’t finished securing the bridge. Robin clenched her hands tightly, nails digging into her palms, and crouched, preparing to whatever action she deemed necessary.

The water shone an impossible ethereal blue as the rapids calmed momentarily, overcoming the violent light of the hungry flames. There was a palpable stillness in the air; the fire raged on in front of her, and her heart skipped a beat, eyes tracing each individual—something was coming. The first panthers broke the water’s surface faster than she could blink, and dozens of the animals ripped themselves away from the indiscernible mass of the river.

Robin’s eyes dilated. Her heart rate stilled and the only thing she could hear was the sound of rushing water. Her head felt like it was about to split and the roaring of something intangible overcame her entire being. She watched listlessly as the panthers threatening to crush her and Eveline came to a halt, soaring so slowly above of them. With practiced ease, Robin picked up Eveline and walked to the forest to set her down near the light of the aggregated fireflies.

Her mind was steady as she returned to the front of the bridge. It was slowly breaking away from itself as the torrents of water leapt above its surface and consumed all it could. She moved swiftly, dodging the panthers that loomed over her and reached MC, who had let go of the lever and was about to fall into the water. Robin looked back at the shore—it would splinter to the point of no return before she would be able to bring MC back with her; a tangle of shapes in the water pushed incessantly at the side of the bridge and would inevitably destroy the only pathway back to safety.

As she gazed upon the still images of falling humans, panic etched on their faces, and the forms of water that threatened to overtake them, the lantern in her grip glowed gently, unburdened by time. She grabbed MC and continued moving forward, holding the lantern high in front of her. Robin felt an immense calm envelope her being as she approached the boy, face twisted in an expression of fear, and felt the orbs inside both lanterns react with intensity as she got closer. She did not look back, but knew that Eveline sat safely on the other side, and that the water had reached the surface of the bridge, crushing it in an instance that felt like infinity.

Holding tightly to MC, Robin gripped the hand of the boy, letting the lanterns clink against each other in a moment of what she felt was euphoric satisfaction. She closed her eyes and exhaled slowly, letting the combined, increasing light of the lanterns blind her, as the sound of rushing water and crackling fire roared back to life.

OK, going to need some clarification because I'm lame: so, let me talk myself through this--MC is running onto the bridge and is turning the handle for some...reason? @Bunnita you may have to help me out on this one. You also want to bring Eveline and Robin to the bridge? And then the bridge snapped while MC was turning the handle?

The wood creaked behind her and she fell back with a yelp. Van lied on her back, staring at the a high wooden ceiling. The others rushed inside and she scrambled to her feet, helping close the opening she had fallen through. The rumbling of the earth became more forceful with each step that the monster took, closer and closer to the tree they hid in. She held her breath, nerves tingling, and hoped that it would not detect them.

The creature rumbled past them, it's heavy steps becoming less powerful as it went farther away. After she could no longer hear its footsteps, she exhaled in relief and turned to look at the rest of the occupants in the tree; a small pink creature was talking with the yellow bear, in a similarly cutesy voice.

She sat on a nearby chair and silently surveyed the room; it was larger than it seemed on the outside--a cozy home carved within the depths of an old tree. Her mind was running with questions, and she numbly muttered an affirmative to the pink animal, who placed a cup of hot tea in her hands. She took to spoon and swirled the drink, watching the tea leaves rise and fall.

After a swig that left her coughing and gasping, she slammed the mug on the table, "Where am I? Why are we here? I want to go home!" She wiped the tears that began to fall, and shook her head. Her tongue burned, her body heart, and she was utterly confused. She willed the anger and sadness that welled in her chest to subside and she took multiple deep breaths, clutching onto her necklace for support.

"S-sorry," she said, after a few moments of silence,"I just don't like not knowing what's going on."
Also kind of interested!
The small, cartoonish looking bear slammed it's honey pot into the creature's head with a powerful crack and sent the large creature flying. Still with her arms out, Van stared slack jaw at the furry animal. It reached up to her waist, but seemed to have the power of multiple grown men in that hit alone. The creature lie dazed on its back and Van beckoned to Malcolm once more.

"Oof," Van huffed as Malcolm dropped ungracefully into her arms. She let him onto his feet and did not hesitate to follow the bear, as it waddled away from the creature that would regain its bearings in a few moments time. She sprinted ahead as Malcolm picked up the bear and followed suit. A roar from behind them shook the earth, and the rumbling started again as the creature gave chase.

"Which way?!" Van yelled, heart pounding in her chest. She rubbed at her eyes again, willing herself not to cry; there was no time to bemoan over the circumstances--she had to get to safety.

The yellow bear in Malcolm's grip pointed to the right, and she skidded, stumbling over a tree root. They sprinted away from the creature, which had slowed for some inexplicable reason. Still running, Van turned to look back, and saw it struggle to keep up; it was an aquatic animal with short legs, and it seemed to be waddling more than running.

They turned another sharp corner and disappeared out of the creature's line of sight. If they were to keep running, they would tired out. She looked back to see if the beast was in view, and saw a large hollow carved into the base of a particularly enormous tree.

"There!" she said, turning back to run to it. She collapsed inside the meager protection that the hollow provided and pulled her knees to her chest. She tipped her head back, closed her eyes, and willed her heart to quiet down, hoping that the beast would run right past them.
