Yeah claws were fine. But on my short list of heroes/powers in the titanpad it just reads 'shrinking, control over rats' as I don't see having claws and teeth counting as a power. We've all got those when we need them.

@Weird TalesI just went over all the approved CS's and animal powers hasn't really been taken, it's just I had so many CS's with animalistic characters come in at once in the thread and PM's and I swear I saw one that had a werebear... anyway... the kid can look ratty being shorter with a larger nose, bucked teeth, etc. like that kid in Batman Beyond with the army of rats. But don't actually make him a rat human hybrid.

Would that work?

I can live with shrinking down to five inches, and controlling rats.... like a rat version of Ant-Man. But taking on the appearance of a humanoid rat with heightened attributes... that's where it stars sounding like a more redundant power set. I'll give ya claws and teeth, but whiskers, a tail, etc would be a deal breaker. Also, as others have pointed out, 'Rat King' is a villain in both TMNT and the Nutcracker. I googled some words, Rattus being one of the better sounding words for rat. Should use something like that for a name instead. Also, I found it interesting rats possess metacognition based on a study in 2007. What is metacognition? A mental ability previously only documented in humans and some primates, it is "cognition about cognition", or "knowing about knowing". It comes from the root word "meta", meaning beyond. It can take many forms; it includes knowledge about when and how to use particular strategies for learning or for problem solving. This is what I can only assume gives rats the upper hand in tight spaces, sewers, etc. and I believe it would be a nice addition power wise that isn't the same old same old. Just call it 'Amplified Metacognition'.

The purpose of him looking like that was to make a hero who doesn't have the convenience of simply blending in like a human. His mutation has made him look like that and adds in the whole never being able to blend in. He doesn't have any superhuman strength, I just gave him rat like senses for the purpose of rat themed flavor.

San Francisco California

Roberto took in a bit of the sights that the cit of San Francisco had to offer, but he kept on task with his assignment. His latest employer wanted him to get rid of a political rival who was staying in the American city for the weekend and the place was sure to be heavily guarded. This would mean that Roberto would have to think things out smartly if he wanted to take out his target. He kept himself out of sight of from the bodyguard and waited until dark. Equipped with his rope he slowly made his way to the compound where his target was staying.

Using his powers he made the rope levitate and silently slither towards one of the bodyguards. It was too dark for the man to see what hit him and the rope almost instantly wrapped around his neck and began to choke him. It was like unsuspecting pray being caught by a python and the rope tightened around his neck blocking his airways. Roberto then made the rope yank the man away from the area and pull him into the bushes.

"Ah not very well placed these guards are" he said to himself as the rope strangled the man to death. Roberto released the dead man from the rope and he quickly moved closer to the place. He sent out three ropes to take out three other guards and now had more of a direct way of getting into the complex. This assignment was going well and he hoped that there wouldn't be too much trouble with taking out this target. He had those before, especially during the drug lord job. He had been assigned to take out a big drug lord in Mexico and it had gone south rather quickly, he killed the drug lord, but he nearly got himself killed in the process.

"Time to go kill a politician" he said to himself with a smile.

no idea, I'm basing him off of Atom and a bit of Aquaman. Not to mention all of the superhero rps I've been in never seem to have shrinking heroes.

Name: Roberto Ochoa, but his clients and allies know him by the name Slipknot.
Age: 28

Religion: he's catholic, but he doesn't let his beliefs get in the way of his work.
Occupation: Mercenary and professional assassin.
Ability: Rope Manipulation
Personality: Roberto tries to not let feelings such as sentiment, love and compassion get in the way of his violent occupation. Even though he is perfectly fine with killing, Roberto does have two exception to his targets, he won't kill families and he doesn't take jobs involving the shipping of drugs. His past still haunts him even though he tries to hide and that gives him a very low tolerance for those that remind him of the people he hated in his life. He is religious in the sense that he believes in God, but he also believes that God gave humanity the right to chose their own path whether it was one of sin or virtue.

For this reason Roberto does not allow his faith to get in the way of his work and only hopes that his sins may be forgiven at the end of his life, but he is willing accept any sort of divine judgement for his crimes. He believes that those with power should be able to use it to their benefit whether or not it is for the greater good. He hates judgmental people who preach about the greater good, humanity is made to be neither good or nor evil, it's all a matter of choice.

Roberto prefers to follow his own rules and codes, but will honor his employer's wishes if he can do it. But he will not hesitate to try and kill those who cross him or try to kill him, in his line of work one must be cruel to their enemies and traitors to stay alive in the business.

Background: Roberto Ochoa was born in the capitol city of Quito in Ecuador. Living in one of the slums meant that life was tough and thanks to the drug lords that plagued the city with crime. His parents both worked jobs as a cook and a maid. Roberto always had dreams of getting out of the slums and becoming successful. It was his dreams that kept him from succumbing to the ruinous lifestyle of the poor, but his life would take for the worse when his parents were murdered.

A gang shootout happened and it had started so quickly and unexpectedly that Roberto and his parents couldn't get to safety. He was small enough to avoid the hail of bullets, but his parents were not as lucky and were shot several times by stray bullets. They had put themselves between him and the gunfire and had died protecting him from death. The experience was dramatic and after the police came and took down the shooters, Roberto learned that the whole incident was over a claim of illegal drugs.

His parents had died all because of a few crates of cocaine and he was now alone. Roberto was placed in a foster home, but the mistress was a cruel woman who treated the foster kids poorly and he hated it. He hated that his life had gone to such a horrible place and he swore that he would not let this be the end. One day while he had made the mistake of attempting to steal some cookies, the mistress caught him and began to beat him. His anger at her and living in such an awful place made him use his powers for the first time ever.

He caused ropes to ensnare the mistress around the neck and then hanged her. Roberto then ran away before the authorities came. He had been thirteen at the time and it was the first time he had killed. After realizing the powers that he possessed Roberto became dedicated to mastering them and using them to his own benefits. He eventually took up mercenary work and became a world-class assassin and gun for hire. Taking a code name Roberto Ochoa became the infamous mercenary Slipknot.

Other: he has an AK 47 assault rifle for when he wants another method of attack other than his ropes.
