Still heavily WIP but whatever. Have a quick peek:

@HellishWaffleSorry, got busy yesterday so my NS is being delayed. I try to finish it by tonight.
@Willy Vereb
Allow me to look through.
Nah, if you haven't looked into it, don't bother.
I made up my mind on the tech and you can see that with my nation app.
More importantly, is it fine if I alter your format somewhat?
I feel certain sections are unimportant for my nation while others may be needed. A tech overview for example.

How much of this would you allow?
I think the viridgen and electric propulsion should stay. I already plan to nerf heat rays from "vaping through warships" to "ignite humans and trees" kind.

Hm. Could be interesting. Sure why not?
Basically Martians landed on the planet but while they conquered a country or two they couldn't advance much further yet and their homeworld lacked resources to send further support thus they're pretty much stuck here and has to make things work.
They have some unique technologies like heat rays (think of searing beam of light akin to Archimedes' mirror or when you use the magnifier on ants except this is generated from a power source) or their weird walkers (though the originals are made of lightweight metal not found on this planet so their mainline walkers are much smaller now). They also adopted a number of technologies from humans and other locals albeit their arrogance still prevents them to embrace it.
Martians also hold whoever is in their country as slaves but aside from that they can be reasoned with and can engage in diplomacy or trade. So you aren't forced to fight them at all costs.

@HellishWaffleHow would you feel about a War of Worlds style Martian Empire in this fame?
I mean the original HG Wells interpretations with certain changes to avoid giving them unfair advantages.
Alright everyone, mellow yer' mammaries. I've got opinions regarding Duck too, and I also have opinions regarding the situation. Personally I think that Duck is being overly hostile, and letting grudges control his actions. Whoop-de-doo. Now can we just move what is quickly becoming a heated argument over into a PM, and leave the OOC for focusing on the RP itself? It's these kinds of arguments that always plague these kinds of roleplays, and I tend to peg them with killing it off. So please, let's just calm down in here. I'll even make PM for y'all to argue in, but arguing over who holds a grudge or not isn't related to the RP.

Please, can we not screw this one up?
Reposting for emphasis.
I made the point about not continuing such an argument to prevent this from clogging up the OOC. Especially when I apparently don't even participate in it.
If somebody is dissatisfied with the way things are and think I would spinelessly turn away from this argument with a sense of faux victory... just hit me up in PMs and I tend to you. I refuse to make further comments in this thread for the sake of avoiding to ruin this game, nothing else.

For the record I have no beef against Duck and wish the feelings would be mutual. Regardless, I said what I did say. No changing it and I wish if Duck does consider them a bit.

Anyways, if we are at steampunk I quickl suggest a change of topic. What kind of steampunk techs everyone came up with? It's sharing time!

I read over your app from top to bottom, and I'll say exactly what it is that bothers Duck, and it's something I noticed yet passed over. The military section reads a bit strong, with a pretty tight focus on showing how advanced the nation is militarily. Most of it I just apathied past, as it doesn't really pose a concern to me, and I know that sheer technological power doesn't equate to military victory in any sense. My only real concern is that you seem to have set yourself up as completely self-reliant when it comes to the fantasy-resource. I too have a technocracy type of nation, but leave them to be more reliant on the outside world for their resources. What's the fun in having wonderous technologies and such if you have absolutely no need to trade for the resources that power them and build relations with foreign countries? Furthermore, I think it sets a dangerous precedent for one person to say how they have "large reserves" of "x", as in the past I have seen multiple apps following such NS' which state mostly the same. Regardless of how amazing this resource is, it is finite(At least I think it is...) and so we can't all have large mines of it. In truth, I would prefer that no player nation have a large source of the resource, and instead leave it to NPC nations so as to see about fostering a greater narrative. Beyond that, I don't see this RP as a game to be won, and I sincerely hope that no one else is here under that assumption.
Most resources being held by an NPC sounds like a fun intraction but only if the said NPC is controlled by the GMs.
Though I don't see large resource pool being a problem so long it doesn't lead to a "Mary Sueish" situation where your nation is the bestest because it can dominate anyone without any sorts of support.
Of course that's up for the GMs to regulate.
Players trading their resources sounds perhaps even more fun than doing it with NPCs.

I lose interest in being nice to players who in the past argued with my human player in a Sci-Fi RP over a name and then also got mad when said human players history didn't work for theirs, even know they hadn't even posted a app yet.
In short, you hold a grudge. Yeah, another reason I shouldn't be in this game.
This is an Internet forum about people writing collaborative fiction as hobby. If you can't get past petty things like this then it's going to get increasingly more difficult for you to enjoy a game here. Kind of explains a few things to me, really.
<Snipped quote by Willy Vereb>

To be honest, you came in here with an idea you knew wouldn't be accepted, and instead of backing down started arguing with the GM. You refused to work with Duck before you even came into the thread.
I rather not pollute this thread with long arguments because it'd cast a bad shadow over the game so I answer this once and then let it be burried to oblivion.
You got it backwards. I pitched a strange idea which perhaps can be rejected. Duck's response was uncaring and hostile. I didn't challenge his authority, I asked his reasons. If people are incapable of even basic discussions like this then we may as well forget the OOC. GMs do have authority but things don't stop there. You work with the players, not rule over them. If you aren't capable of that then we have issues.

EDIT: I have the best wishes for all players here. I have no hard feelings and besides given my list of RPs balanced against my free time I may have dragged you down anyways. My suggestions to Ducd and the not so recent trend with GMs not bearing any critique is worrisome to me. GMs are people, too. Remember that and look at your players with some humility. Again, I wish all players to enjoy this game to its fullest.
Willy, you have two options.

A. Apply as a regular human nation

B. Get out

If you attempt to argue with me some more, I will you assume you have chosen B and I will ignore you.
I chose B because I refuse to work with a GM who can't even speak with its players
properly.
You may wish to tone down on this attitude in the future.
