If you try to exterminate the trading partners of the LSN, you will find yourselves in a war! Our worlds are backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

...

That's a scary thing, right? Why are you not scared? Why is that sword glowing? Wha- OH GOD MY ENTIRE LOWER BODY IS GONE

Well, I wasn't thinking energy swords, but now that you mention it, I really haven't been able to use them much in the past... so thanks, Keyguy. You sparked my imagination. :3

I'm going with battleship-and-aircraft-carrier style warfare right now, supplemented by frigates or light cruisers. Primary attack roles would be filled by fighters, bombers, corvettes. Primary defense roles would be filled by frigates, interceptor drones, and electronic-warfare corvettes. Primary support roles would be filled by battlecruisers, light cruisers, and construction drones.
Shit happens.

I don't trust people with the partying hook-up-with-whoever trait, cause shit happened.

Also, bullying happens. Yay for being isolated in an isolated town while already living isolated in a valley outside of town away from everyone else. "Kids these days," thanks for that. Sorry if I'm sensitive to that kind of thing, but I've gotten a lot of shit and writing is one thing that makes me feel better. That, and beating the crap out of everyone in PvP MMOs.
Of course, other, ah, people might not want ragtag groups running around selling all their technology to anyone who gives a bid, and these, ah, parties might be interested in, ah, stopping that trade. Permanently.
Not disbelieving- just teasing is all.

That, and a little wary. The only other person I knew that was that smart was a girl who was my first real friend, whom I watched slowly go from a normal (but supersmart) girl to someone with a dozen mental illnesses that have turned her into a completely different person. Where there was once endless conversation between us, there were only short shouting matches. Yaaay. Life sucks, neh? Then it comes back to restore your faith, before breaking you down again.

I learn quickly too, I just don't care anymore. Not very many friends at all, not exactly in the most nurturing household and with the concept of faith out the window for me. Don't care enough to do something I know, much less learn something new. *shrug*
@RomanAria
Wait
what?
I'm a Sophomore- a year under junior- and you're two years younger than me... but higher than me?

You one of those supersmart prodigies? *mock suspicious stare*
@The Scotsman
Yeah, I guess. Ro would likely be pushed forward for that kind of group. Like... the people who are in most of his classes shoving him forward.
Hi guys I can't post this afternoon, sorry, because clarinet projects. Maybe tomorrow. Then the next day I'm off for my very belated fourteenth birthday party and won't be back until sunday, at which point I will be up to my elbows in reviewing things for the twelve labors writing contest. So I may not be able to post until monday.
I'm in GMT-7, I think, it's 3:35 here.

You're only thirteen/fourteen right now? Hot damn, I wasn't close to being your level at that age. You've got my respect about that, for sure.
Superheavy WIP. Wouldn't have posted it, except that my computer's derping and I really need to restart.

Name of nation:
United Superpowers of the Homeworld Treaty Alliance, or USHTA, or Ushtah.

Species: Sidris, Sidrisian

The Sidris are sensitive, warm-blooded creatures of avian structure. Double-spine structure, reinforced bone structure, but bones are all hollow. They show more similarities to avians than to reptiles, besides their pebbly, reptillian skin. They are creatures that are hardy, because of their regenerative properties- where another race loses movement and senses below a point when their spine is broken, a Sidris has two spines, which both decreases flexibility and increases back strength. That, and their spine can regenerate. Their skin is leathery, not thick, nor soft. Metabolism forces all but the most determined to be thin and wiry, with very, very few showing any signs of real overweight.

Description of government:
Sectional Democratic-Republic, set in tiers depending on community->region->area->state->Collection->Planet->System->Universal.
At this point, the Ushtuh has yet to completely dominate the planet, so the five superpowers of the planet (among 35 smaller nations, from chain-island states to Australia-sized countries) are in a council of sorts who vote and decide on what they want. Every five suncycles, they vote in a new 'President' from the one of the other four superpowers- one superpower can't hold President for more than one term in a row.

Description of military:
Water and air-based. The planet they live on, Zeme Rutulys, or just Zeme, is primarily oceanic continents. Large islands, small islands, chain islands, that sort of thing. Three islands are as big as Russia; four as big as Australia, three as big as America, and then chain islands throughout. There is only one major ocean, which sits in the middle of the Eastern Hemisphere. The planet they are on is also what humans would consider a superplanet, being about 1.5x larger than Earth, with a less dense core and mantle, meaning less gravity to be just about Earth normal, at 1.2Gs.

Because of the conditions above, the high-buoyancy of the atmosphere allows jets and the like to be larger than the Earth normal, and therefore, more powerful. On the water, the ships are, on average, bigger than humanity's normal, each basic assault ship being at least 1.5x larger. Aircraft carriers are up to three times larger than humanity's, though they number slightly less.

In space, there is a significant focus on a naval/air-force type force, with most military ships being a droneship or a battlecarrier. Currently, the majority of ships are civilian/commercial, while there are only two battlecarriers and four droneships, accompanied by a dozen frigates. Attack ship classes range from anti-capital corvettes, which are launched from battlecarriers. Corvettes are, for example, like the tank to the fighters/infantry. Next are the bombers, which are similar to the artillery for the fighters/infantry, and then there are electronic warfare and support ships, which are slightly larger than Corvettes, and act as a command and control ship in the field. They are mobile command centers are armed with more point defense than any of the other Corvette types.

Planetary defense currently consists of a different nation's space navy of a different type of battlecruiser and a battleship, both of, more or less, equal size

Gray Marsh Warlord Kaziden Ceceryan galloped onwards towards the first real sign of civilization since they had come to this land. This was at no small part of luck or misfortune- the White Tundra tracker he had brought with them had been told, very clearly, that they were going to have to avoid all civilization, up until they meet the Northern authority here. And the first White Tundra tracker had been beheaded, because he lead them nearly right into a village of considerable size- enough to warrant a couple dozen watchmen, most simply farmers or teenagers who wanted to brag about facing down nonexistent wolves.

Skanda, beneath him, shuddered again, his hide vibrating back and forth in a way usually meant to fend off insects. He didn't like the cold weather, and neither did Kaz- it was unnatural, it was the opposite of what he had grown up in. Oh, the days were boiling hot and the nights cold enough to lightly freeze water, in the winter, but it was never so persistent as this. Day after day after day of constant cold weather, a week and a half of traveling in weather so unlike his own he was sure White Tundra shamans had conjured it up to punish him for the souls he held in his blade. It was needless to say that all but the White Tundra clansmen suffered from the cold, and he was looking forward to warmth- and he'll have it, through welcomed words or bared sword.

His horse slipped, catching himself before anything could happen, on the icy rocks that were common in this country. He muttered a curse under his breath, blaming his father and his White Tundra clansmen for this fool trip. They should've just built ships, and sailed overseas to this land, rather than try and cross by foot or horseback. His thoughts quickly changed, however, when the castle that was supposedly the seat of this land appeared ahead of him. Where he was, there was no need for large, towering walls, or great big keeps of stone blocks- they had lower, domed buildings, walls only a little higher than a cavalryman's head, with the largest buildings only three stories tall, maximum. The castle showed itself to be much, much more impregnable than even the Gray Marsh's capital.

So why not ride straight up to the riders leaving the castle's gates, a dozen armed men.
