Ender's Game:
Far future.

An alien race, an ant-like hivemind known as the Formics, or informally as 'the buggars,' invaded Earth and levelled the Chinese superpower- shortly afterwards, the world managed to fight them off.

After the war, it was decided they needed commanders to lead their spaceships against the Formics- they started building fleets and sending them out to known Formic planets.

Ender's Game focuses on Ender, who went up to the orbital space station around Earth, called The Battle School, to train with other extraordinary children to become future commanders, using their great neural elasticity. Child geniuses in space training in squad tactics to be applied to spaceships, essentially.

In the book and movie, the chilluns there were really just focused on winning the game of the battleroom.

I'd suggest watching the movie, but if you don't have time, no biggie. I can write up all the lore and stuff that's required.
@HaleyTheRandom
You said you'd post :c
@l0ck0n
Well, there's more to it, but yeah, essentially :b

Also, I updated to OP with some information.
@HaleyTheRandom
But I thought I was your bickerbuddy! ;-;

>sniffles
I thought I was your friend toooooooooo
@HaleyTheRandom
Well ya don't need to nerd out about it. You just gotta have an understanding of physics and an open mind while me and Aria's character lectures everyone about relativity, which will most likely happen at one point or another.

You can just be another grunt :D
Ender’s Game AU

AKA Space Nerd Bonanza

Okay, so myself and @RomanAria were nerding out [earlier this morning/earlier today/yesterday] about space and relativity and all that stuff that no one else seems to nerd out about, and we decided that we wanted to beat down other people with our extensive views on space and zero-g and relativity host a roleplay specifically for those of you who want to spin around in circles in space! And maybe even shoot some people with non-harming laser guns that look friggin’ AWESOME.

But mainly the space part.

Here’s what Aria has to say:

Oh, um, is it my turn now? Okay. Um, hi. So yeah, Wilson and I were goofing off, talking about space and stuff (mostly because he had the nerve to ask me what “up” was, and I somewhat misinterpreted the question) and yeah… this idea happened.

I think Wilson’s pretty well summed it up. Like Ender’s Game, but kind of not. Like probably not as structured as that environment. Knowledge of the series is unnecessary to participate, as there is likely no plotline even remotely resembling the one in the series.

The only prerequisite is that you have a basic working knowledge of physics. Doesn’t have to be elaborate. Just enough to know how a body would likely move without the forces of gravity on it.

Likely this roleplay will be run at a mid-casual level. Please try to use decent spelling and grammar (don’t take notes from me, then, because seemingly I’m having grammar issues lately) and write at least one decently-sized paragraph per post. Character development won’t be quite as important as it is in most roleplays; this is more of a physics sandbox than anything. Nonetheless we will ask that you submit a basic CS once the OOC goes up.

Anyway, back to you, Will. I think I’ve rambled enough as it is.

Mkay. Anyhow, yeah, what she said. Personally, I’d set the requirements she put above as the minimum, but post lengths are determined by inspiration and things to reply, so I’ll give people some slack :b (yeah, Will is probably the more lenient of the two of us. Listen to him, not to me.)

Yeah, some knowledge of science would be much preferable, because you know those things that make you twitch, it bothers you so much? Bad science does that to me and Aria. We’ll also pounce on anyone who says something stupid. Just saying.

We are the science nazis. Beware. Fear us.
I’m also a bit of a grammar nazi, so don’t have a buncha sentence fragments or nothing, you know? or I’m coming for you!

Basically, just don’t screw up and we’ll all get along wonderfully, mkay?

Stop trying to one-up me, Aria!!

Why? one-upping you is fun! And anyway I want to have the last word!

Hehehhe, I got the last word >:U

INFORMATION

Okay, so we've brainstormed some more and it's been decided:
Everyone will be part of the same launch group, with ages around the movieverse- 12-14 year olds, all starting out on the shuttle. This is PRE-ENDER. Ender may not even exist in this version. There's still, say, five years until the Formics attack, unlike Ender's less-than-a-year.
He shrugged, trying at a grin and failing because of the burning. He solved his problem by stuffing the rest of the pastry in his mouth, trying to alleviate the burn through ways that he doesn't even know.

Fanning his mouth and failing to alleviate his pain, he just waited with pastry held gingerly in his mouth, waiting for the pain to fade. After a minute or two, it finally did, and Bernard started slowly chewing his pastry. After maybe half a minutes' worth of chewing, he swallowed the last bite, and promptly coughed a bit.

Wiping his mouth, he mumbled, "Yeah, sorry about that. Not the brightest idea I've ever had. 'Think I'm good now, though, thanks for asking. Please, go ahead, laugh all you want."

He paused, then, feeling a bit awkward. He came over to apologise; that being accomplished, he wasn't entirely sure what to do.
I'm prolly gonna wait awhile- I'll most likely be posting on Thursday or Friday, or even the weekend. Dunno yet.
