Bio

I have been writing since I was 17 years old. I am now 33 and I've been enjoying life. Writing is a passion just as reading is. My favorite genre is murder/mystery, but I love fantasy and I love action/adventure. I have published a collection of short stories that can be found on Apple Books, Barnes and Nobles, and Kindle. I have a trilogy in the works, the first part scheduled for release this year.

Yuri was impressed by the skill shown by each fighter in the arena. He knew Earth had amazing defenders, but anytime he fought alongside one, it always reminded him that he was never alone, that others fought the same fight he did. Be it cultivating evil spirits, or fighting off invading otherworldly creatures bent on conquering Earth, he upheld the belief that everyone on Earth deserved freedom and equal right, and he would fight to his death their right to live and be free. The swarm of butterflies did what they were meant to do. Even with Sign Master figuring out the one true weakness of the perfect cube. Had they been in the air, the cube would have no weakness, but since it was positioned on the ground, the ground was its weakness.

Yuri watched as Sign Master dove into a tunnel to avoid the hornet missiles and beautiful swirling mass of destruction from the Mech and Luna. The butterflies managed to keep up with him, but he quickly popped up outside of the cube, a few of the butterflies managing to strike him, and two affixing to the creature's back as a sort of homing device, or rather an energy drain. The two butterflies would not only send a beacon to Yuri, but they would slowly start to sap the energy from Sign Master to the point that would cause them to self-destruct.

Yuri had made a mental note to ask Gou about the spirit wolf he's shifted into after Yuri had lowered the perfect cube. Although they'd lost one of their allies, the Mech, Yuri knew it would only be a matter of time before he'd run into the owner of the machine, if only over a cup of coffee. After watching Gou and Luna rush off to catch up with Sign Master, Yuri smirked. The butterflies that had latched onto Sign Master's back would impale their proboscis into Sign Master just as Gou, in his spirit wolf form, would latch onto Sign Master's arm. This would hide the fact that he'd been bitten three times.

Sign Master put up quite the fight against both Gou and Luna who were giving him more than what he bargained for, but Yuri hadn't yet appeared on the scene just yet. Drifting through the breeze as a swarm of white luna moths, Yuri sped towards the battle. He was able to catch up with Luna, Gou, and the Sign Master with relative ease, but decided to observe before interacting. Gou was doing a great job at disabling one of Sign Master's arms, and Luna was hammering away at the side of Sign Master's helmet. It was a comical scene, but Yuri knew they needed to act swiftly if they were going to put down the threat. Yuri sped in front of the trio and took his normal form a bit ahead. Even with two beings attached to him, Sign Master was still moving at a decent speed.

Yuri clapped his hands together and felt the air around him shift. The butterflies that were draining Sign Master started to grow bigger and bigger. They would be visible to Luna and Gou. Sign Master would begin to feel his power slipping away, like a battery dying on an electronic device. Yuri slowly pulled his hands apart and arcana sparked between his hands.

"Arcana: Thousand Arrows"

Arrow upon arrow appeared around him and Sign Master was on a collision course with him.

When I tell you to let go, let go Yuri spoke telepathically to Luna and Gou.

As Sign Master neared, two luna moth shuriken struck his arm with the sign, slicing off the only usable hand he had. When they were in range, Yuri spoke to Luna and Gou again to let go, and the arcana charged arrows surged forth like a wave, all targetting Sign Master. At the same time, the butterflies would detonate further crippling Sign Master and decreasing his chances of survival.

YEEP! Awesomesauce! Remy would be so not ready for a relationship but would jump head-first into one cause he loves being adored and loved by someone. His fears, however, will get the better of him, of course. He wouldn't be human if they didn't. He's such a gullible little birdie tho, and can easily fall into anyone's grasp if not careful. But, really, if Yuri shows a hint of concern or interest towards him, he'll probably follow him around like a little puppy, just because he also looks like someone who can protect him as well.

Funny thing about Remy, he's a weakling on the outside, but stronger on the inside. He just doesn't see/feel it yet. YET! I'm not sure exactly why this is (still under top-secret development) but someone within this band of witches we're building might have the answers to unlocking his hidden, completely underdeveloped, abilities. Meh, we shall see... But truly, YUUSS, give Remy a toy to dot over, please! It makes him feel better when he has some sort of purpose or is the one bringing someone some sort of happiness. But watch it - he can be a bit possessive and overly bubbly about his loyal care for someone so close; he can be a tad extra...

Consider it done. Their relationship will be rather complex, but Yuri will love Remy and will try to help him with his abilities and such even though he hasn't fully grasped his own yet. Yuri and Remy sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. LMAO, I'm such a dork. As long as Remy doesn't mind Yuri being overprotective of him and a little bit possessive.

Should they already be in a relationship at the start of the story or should we have that happen within the story?

I'm exited. If you need anything else let me know.

If anyone would like I could make a Discord and discuss these things. :D
If you don't want to do Discord then sure.

I don't mind Discord, I am on there all the time.

@Phi Chisym
accepted.

So far. I will probably make an NPC guide.

Any word on an IC, OOC, Character setup yet? If you want I can help you co-gm or be an assistant, I don't mind. So far we have 4 characters if I'm not mistaken.
Haha! Yuri & Lithy will definitely butt heads! I just realize that Yuri's a strong necromancer. With her unknown connection to the Crossroad gateway Papa Legba protects, Yuri's abilities will actually conflict (or control) hers, in a sense. And, in a way, her control of certain aspects of death will conflict (or block) some of his.

Therefore, arguments will ensue... until they learn to work together for the greater good. I'll have to send you my brainstorm of this shocking idea, and see what you make up of it. I think it'll be good character/group development, but damn! There's so much I've already had in design for my charrie that your charrie has broken, in a sense. I'm redesigning Lithy within the classical, older study of Voudou - more of the ancient sense I was taught, than the modern Haitian/Louisiana version. So, ttmherefore, there won't be a lot of conflict and repetitiveness between our two charries, but there will be enough conflict from the start - the typical 'mine is better than yours' standpoint that'll clear up through development.

K, brainstorming end... gotta get back to work.

I am all for character development and I can already see Yuri and Lithy being a beautiful unstoppable force when they learn to work together. Conflict is sometimes good because it makes you think of different ways to either adjust or get around it. I am excited for them to interact and I'll probably have Yuri flirt with Remy a little if that's okay with you. Remy is in the spectrum of individuals Yuri would pursue and he is one of those "hopeless romantic" types so he'll make sure Remy is taken care of.... again only if you're okay with it, I'd rather not force such things onto other characters unless they agree so that door is open should you choose to have Remy walkthrough. Or they could already know one another and actually be dating at the start of the story. If my memory is correct I'm sure they'll argue and whatnot because Yuri isn't quite adapted to handling Remy's personality and Remy probably doesn't know how to handle Yuri just yet.
My post will come in the AM when I wake up. I'll have Yuri intercept and start a fight with Sign Master to give Luna and Gou a chance to strike.
Looking great so far. I can't wait for Yuri to tell Rox..."give Papa my regards"

Keep up the great work and let our great GM know when you're done.
Once Mantou posts I can get something up then.

Quick question IceHeart, after Sign Master's defeat, do you want us to continue whatever side stories we develop or just pause and wait for the new monster? I know each character has a beautiful backstory and not to mention Yuri and Gou have an interconnecting backstory. Yuri would love to go for a drink with Luna since she got rid of the Slurpee.

Name: Yuri Paris
Sex: Male
Age: 22
Appearance:

Yuri is Blasian. He is half Asian, half African, and grew up in New Orleans. His father is Creole and his mother Korean. He speaks English, Korean, Swahili, and some Spanish. His mother has a lineage as an Asian Witch and his father delved into African Spirituality and Voodoo. Arcana and Voodoo run in Yuri's blood. He's a descendant of Marie Laveau.

Powers:
> Spiritual Senses: Yuri's eyes can see the soul/spirit of the living and the dead. He can locate someone by their spirit/soul.
> Impartation: A unique gift, the power to impart (bestow) temporary life into something lifeless or bestow life back into what was once dead. This is dangerous. Small creatures will cause his nose to bleed and dizziness; however, if he brings back the soul of someone who has died he will pass out and it will completely drain his mana. He will feel completely drained for a few days.
> Spiritual Connection: Connecting to the spirit realm is easy for Yuri, and communicating with spirits trapped on the plane of the living is something that comes naturally to him. He helps guide lost souls to their final resting place; however, he also has the ability to trap souls in this plane and control them, twist them into something dark and sinister or fill them with light and benevolence.
> Teleportation: Yuri is able to teleport various distances as long as he can see the destination.
> Voodoo Doll: Quite literally Yuri is a walking voodoo doll. Wounds heal quickly. Anyone who he sets his focus on can become a victim to his power. Any damage taken by Yuri is bestowed upon a chosen target as long as Yuri maintains eye contact. The greater the damage, the more draining to his spiritual energy, and if he doesn't have enough spiritual energy, the wound created will stay.
> Necromancy: Necromancy gives Yuri authority over death, those who have died, and those things void of life. His command is unwavering and unobjectionable. What he commands of them, they obey. It allows him to use necrotic energy that decays whatever it touches.
> One w/ Water: Yuri can create, shape, and manipulate water, inorganic compound with liquid, gas (steam, water vapor), and solid (ice) states, including changing them from one state to others.

Spells: Every witch/warlock is taught spells at a young age if they are a part of a coven. Yuri learned from his mother before she died the usual common spells like moving things from place to place, levitating, fixing what's broken, etc; however, there are more immense, deadlier spells that require more, and those he learned through in-depth study.

Summoning --NEUTRAL--
- Cerberus Come Forth: A blood offering is required to bring forth the demon dog, guard of hell's gates, Cerberus. The three-headed beast is immune to fire and immensely strong. Control over the beast takes great focus. The caster must speak the incantation, "Hell's gates will miss its guardian, bring forth the one who guards it."
- The Undead Army: It takes either one very powerful voodoo master or at least four voodoo priests with one leading to summon an army of undead. In size, we are talking an entire graveyard size army. While summoning the army of undead, the voodoo priest is absent from the battlefield and is usually held up in a secret place because, during the ceremony, he is completely vulnerable to anyone who is able to locate him. It requires a great deal of concentration and because of this, voodoo priests go into a trance-like state. They can be knocked out of this state if someone powerful enough causes a magical surge that breaks the connection and severs the ties.

Protection --DEFENSIVE--
- Heaven's Wings: A simple spell that allows Yuri to protect someone from negative influences. The spell must be spoken and the target or something belonging to the target must be in the caster's possession for the protection spell to work. When activated, the spell will surround the target in a protective barrier that extends a foot out from them and prevents harm. Speaking the words "
- Death's Hand: A very powerful spell that only lasts for one hour. It requires a blood sacrifice and the energy of three voodoo priests/priestesses to work. The blood of the target must be poured into the middle of the voodoo circle. The three voodoo priest/priestesses must chant the necessary words and the victim will be protected from death for ONE hour. Because of the potency of this spell, it cannot be repeated on the same person more than twice.
- Monarch's Blessing: By touching someone and speaking the words "Liber Spiritus" the target's abilities will be enhanced for a short duration. The caster cannot bestow this enhancement on themselves, only on someone else. It does not require any sacrifice, merely mana to cast.
- Celestial Entanglement: By calling to the gods and deities in the pantheon, the caster can draw from them celestial protection on a person of their choice, but it comes with a price. The caster must fulfill a request from the deity they illicit the prayer to and be willing and able to do what needs to be done.

Magistrate --OFFENSIVE--
(Yuri is still learning, as there is so much to learn. Spells, hexes, etc, take a toll on the body, mind, and spirit)
