Well, hello, I'm Witch Cat, as you already know. And I'm an unimportant nobody on the internet with no life! Well, that first part is a lie, I'm wanted in 17 states but I digress. I guess you want to know a little more about me, so here goes. (God, I never learned how to start these)
So umm, I'm just a RPer on the internets. I'm from Iran, which makes me a PURRsian, and I moved to the states a while ago. I know 4 languages, only 2 of those fluently, but I still prefer RPing and talking in English. I'm not really a witch or a cat (or am I?), but I still like making good luck jars and sigils for the ~＊~ＡＥＳＴＨＥＴＩＣ~＊~. I think I have a notebook full of sigils and written rituals lying somewhere that I use for RPs.
Speaking of RPs, before the most I've done are short 1x1 RPs with strangers on Omegle, very few RPs which I remember fondly. But coming to the RPGuild was my first experience RPing in a group and I've been loving it so far! I've met a lot of wonderful people, joined a bunch of memorable RPs, and had a butt load of fun. Can't wait for more!
what if, say, the gene was rare and recessive. and if you had the gene buried in your DNA and was bit, would the gene activate? Because if not I would have to rewrite my backstory. Darn.
Well, depends. In some cases, the trait is just recessive. The bite won't affect the target at all, and will just turn them into a minion. However, if the trait is co-dominant(The carrier will get some vampire benefits, but this mostly is just living for a few extra years), the bite will "shock" the trait into overriding the other, which makes the trait dominant and turns the target into a vampire. Due to this sudden change in your gene, many changes are noticed. Pale skin, high metabolism, etc.
@Wraithblade6Well that is the point of this. It is based on the idea that the world of magic is studied as a science. While I don't need everyone going and explaining the chemical reactions that allow you to make teleporting shotgun rounds. It is the idea that at the core people know how it works and that science and magic aren't separate.
If we are going to get science-y about it, I say we throw in a handful of demons 'n' stuff to spice it up! For example; Mitochondria is the power house of the cell BECAUSE THE ESSENCE OF GODS RUN THROUGH IT!
Taking a look at all of the myths revolving around vampires, I was severely disappointed. They all seem to say the same things. Vampires devour, trick, and are like really pale. But while snooping around the internet, I believe to have stumbled onto a clever idea. Vampires can not turn other people into vampires.
Crazy idea right? Well, let me explain, it all started when I discovered Lilith. The Mother of Vampires (or sometimes demons).
She was a rebellious child of God, refusing to be submissive, and thus was casted out of Eden. Bitter and filled with contempt, she swore to devour every child of Adam and spread her own underlings onto God's green Earth. Lilith would seduce the good men of God, stealing their sperm and utilizing it to give birth to Demons and Vampires. Giving her the title "Mother of Vampires/Demons". And some ask, "What would happen if a Vampire bit someone?". Simple, they turn into a vampire. But not a vampire vampire. This bastardised version of a vampire is cursed with ever lasting blood lust, and if not fed will go wild. However, keep it happy, and it will willingly submit to the will of their master (The person who first bit them), making handy minions. "Normal" vampires are made through birth, some speculate there is a vampire gene that can be passed on through the generations, some say Lilith herself consumes the baby and places one of her own children instead. No matter what way you believe vampires are made, bottom-line is, vampires can't be made by other vampires through biting. Though giving birth to one is a legitimate way of getting a "normal" vampire. Though this is rare with Vampires with an active vampire trait as their sex drive is basically zero, people who carry the gene but aren't affected by it don't face this problem

Well I mean, with the charm every vampire has, I wouldn't be surprised if they left a lot of babies around. That is unless they lost their sex drive completely.
I think it's ok if the two vampires are quite different. It would be boring if they were similar, but I am glad Wraith made the decision. Also, either one of us could have ulterior evil motives. >:^)

@AdobeFlash Alright. Thanks. I will start working on a CS, but it probably won't be ready until tomorrow. I am not sure how crazy deep you guys want me to go into detail, but I guess we'll see. This will be quite a different character than the vampire you currently have.
We don't really have limits on what we expect, but feel free to take a look at the CS tab to get an idea.
@Wraithblade6 THe bat's purpose is for daytime/sunlight travel. We also established that vampire's have an ability to be rather charming/manipulative. It's a more subtle addition to their personal abilities rather than them getting mind control or something really powerful. The focus is far more on the schools of studies. There are greater vampires, and THE vampire (vlad/dracula) does exist in this universe, and they get massively more power, but are far to dangerous to trust (and way too much for player character. All the characters are meant to show the average of a magic user at least for the start.)
Also one weakness they forgot is that I do enforce arthimomania. Vampires are deeply compelled to counter small things when they are scattered on the ground. IT's actually a part of old vampire myths that you can delay them by throwing grain or salt on the ground and they have to count every last bit of it. Basically you go nuts at beaches.
EDIT: as for other regions of vampires I'd need some references on other myths about vampire to make that call. I'm not gonna just say SA vampires get X ability while Asian vampires get Y ability because I say son.
I could compile a list of vampire myths around the world and try to integrate them into the power set of a vampire from a specific reign. If vampires can heal faster, why not evolve faster too?
