Deanah woke with the sun as she normally did. After pulling herself out of bed, she showered and dressed and got ready for the day. Yes, she could have slept in, since today was a personal day for her, but she had always been an early riser no matter what day it was. She then made her way to the kitchen for some breakfast. She went with something simple this morning, a couple of fried eyes and some toast with grape jelly. After eating, she grabbed her things and headed out the door, being sure to lock it behind her. Deanah lived just on the outskirts of town. She couldn’t ever bring herself to move closer in because she needed to feel like she still had a bit of freedom. Hopping on her purple bike, she rode into town to grab some things that she couldn’t get in the forest. As she rode through town, she received strange looks from the people that lived there. It wasn’t anything different, and by now she had become used to it. Many of the townspeople suspected her of being a witch, but had no proof to back up their claims.

Deanah rode through town, heading to the market to get fresh veggies and herbs that didn’t grow nearby her place. Not to mention, it was one of the few places that she could meet and talk to a few kind people. Plus, there were a few who weren’t human like herself, and she could relate to them. Upon reaching the market, she got off her bike and pushed it through the street and to the stalls she needed to visit.

Today was a slow day for Marabella Stirling, for it was a day of downtime for her. It was a day for herself, which is something she didn't really do all that often, but this week had been exhausting and she felt she needed it. She also needed the time to give her apartment a good cleaning. It was looking as if a tornado had hit it. After giving her apartment a deep cleaning, she walked over to her radio and lowered the volume to make it more like background noise, then grabbed a book off a nearby shelf. She then walked over to her couch and plopped down upon it, making herself comfortable before opening to where she had it marked. All sound was drowned out as Bella became lost within the pages and part of the world she read about.

A blood-curdling scream brought Bella back into reality with a jump. Looking up from her book, her eyes stopped on the window. It was then she realized just how long she had been reading for, marking her place with a bookmark as she closed the book and set it upon the side table. She then got up and walked over to the window to see who had screamed and for what reason. She thought she might see the aftermath of an accident down below as she looked out the window, but all she saw was a gray and heavy fog outside her window. Confusion plastered itself upon her features, for she had never in her life seen fog get this thick. She stood there listening for any other sounds that might come through, but she heard nothing. The scream had unsettled her because it wasn’t your normal scream; it was definitely one of terror. Pulling away from the window, she decided she should see if anyone else knew what was going on, but first, she would need to change. She had been in her nightclothes all day. Bella went to her room and changed into a pair of dark blue jeans, a black v-neck shirt, and a pair of black lace-up boots. Before leaving the room, she grabbed her Walkman, headphones, and backpack purse. She clipped the Walkman to her belt and put the headphones around her neck.

After heading to the kitchen, she grabbed some snacks and put them in her purse, then a little something extra to eat on her way downstairs since she hadn’t had dinner yet. After doing that, she went to the door and opened it, but before exiting her apartment she took her black leather jacket and keys off their hooks. After closing the door, she locked it and put on her jacket, then slid her keys into one of its pockets. Bella ate her snack as she made her way down the stairs and to the lobby. When she arrived, the atmosphere changed drastically. It was clear something was definitely going on by how everyone was talking in hushed voices amongst one another. She hung back and listened, then two voices rang out loud and clear above all other voices. She recognized who they belonged to, but only knew the two in passing. Bella’s eyes scanned the crowd that had gathered in the lobby, then landed upon Wyatt as he made his way to the door. She watched as he grasped the handle, ready to open it. She pushed herself through the crowd while saying excuse me, as she made her way to him. “I don’t think that would be such a good idea.” she said when she finally reached him. “We have no idea what is going on out there.”

Personality Traits

She is a kind-hearted soul who will do what she can to help out those she cares for. She will also help out those she doesn’t know if she can. She will try and avoid confrontations at all cost, she hates fighting. She is very loyal to her family and those she calls friends. She can get a bit stressed out at times or seem down and out but give her some music to listen to and she'll be alright in no time.

Background

She was born in Texas to two loving parents, but by the time she was one her parents had grown apart and split up. As she grew, her mother found new love but they weren’t the greatest of men. Not only were they abusive to her mother, but to her as well. As time went by, she was able to have small breaks from her step-father when she would visit her father on certain weekends, but soon that wasn’t an escape anymore. Her father had found a new love and she wasn’t the greatest of women. Both her step-father and step-mother were mentally abusive, but luckily she had at least one pet to help her through those hard times.

When she was old enough, she set out on her own and once she was settled and stable she helped her mother out of her situation with her husband. When her mother found a new and healthy love, she felt good enough to go and do her thing once more. Soon after that, she got word from her father he left his wife as well. Marabella decided to move out of state after hearing both her parents were doing better and found herself in Boston working at a health food store and then volunteering at places when she had free time.

Since being in Boston and living in the apartments she’s felt freer than she has ever been. She really hasn’t made many friends but has met a few of the other residents in passing. Most of them seemed to be pretty nice in the short conversations she had with them.

She has blonde hair and green eyes. She's about 5'2 and weighs about 130lbs. Some of her hobbies are archery, drawing, and helping at food banks and animal shelters. Always has headphones, a Walkman, a couple of cassettes, and extra batteries with her.

Oh, don’t worry about it. *smiles* I know I don’t look any older than eighteen, but I’m 32.

How did you arrive to our Wonderland?
Umm, to tell you the truth, my memory of it all is a little fuzzy. All I can really remember is waking up and getting ready for the day. Then after breakfast, Hollis, my wolf-dog, and I went for a walk in the woods behind our house. As we walked, we were enjoying the sights and sounds that were around us. Then something white shot past us and caught his attention, causing him to run after it, which is something he never does. I ran after him, hoping I could get to him before he harmed whatever he was chasing, but he was so fast I couldn’t keep up with him. I followed his barking, but I still couldn’t find him. The last thing I remember is hearing him yelp and running to where I heard it. Then I tripped and fell into a hole and darkness swallowed me and I passed out. When I woke, I found myself here. I can only assume Hollis fell into the hole as well and is here somewhere.
What is it like? In your world? Tell me about your past.
Back in my world, there’s nothing really special about me. I’m just an ordinary woman. I had a troubled childhood with a couple of abusive step-fathers but I won’t go into that. As an adult, I’ve helped family members get out of tough situations before doing what I needed to do for myself. Once I knew I didn’t have to worry about them, I got my life back on track. I found a job that involved rehabilitating dogs, then got a place of my own and Hollis as a companion, so I wouldn’t feel so lonely. Some of my spare time went to volunteering at shelters and nearby sanctuaries.
