Definitely weird. Soul-eating character seems to be a thing. I'm not sure how "useful" this one may be when battling the armies of hell.

@Rhymer Thank you Rhymer. I'm glad to know it wasn't entirely my fault, but I have to admit, I feel partly responsible. I actually do have some insight on what Grey has planned for this group, because he is a friend of mine, and I can tell you you are hugely wrong if you think survival is going to be easy. This is probably exactly the rp you hope it will be, but I really can't say anything further to back that up without ruining surprises. I like your character and hope you will reconsider, especially cuz we are out a healer now.

I think what you don't understand Tyki, and maybe Nats too, is that I don't want this version of my character to be anything like what I have ever attempted to rp as in the past. I've put a solid 5 hours in today, chatting about and writing up a fresh CS, generating new ideas and traits which will better embody the "person" I am trying to play. This is a new character, in a new world where he must deal with much more limitation and confrontation than I have ever attempted to portray or play out. To me, this is an opportunity to make this person more "real" and more alive than any thrown-together, generic "good" demigod fantasy character. To me, it's like a polished, finalized version of what I have only tried to get to work in the past. I'm very excited about it. I'm going to commit to this rp and make it serious, and I look forward to a great deal of fun doing it. I hope that other people will refrain from balking at the incorrect assumption that this is a remake, but consider it an evolution with depth and history that they can enjoy and find interesting as we rp together over the next several weeks.

Name: Eclipse Kornova

Appearance:



General Apparel: Eclipse wears shiny, silver-colored armor, a mostly decorative helm with no faceplate, and has a white cloak with gold trim behind him. He wears no gauntlets and carries no visible shield, but is still very well protected. The symbol of the sun and sword decorate him in various places. He has an ornate longsword.

Armor/Weapons/Equipment: Plate armor, sword. Not much else.

Magical/Divine Abilities:

Divine Shield - Eclipse creates an almost invisible shield of force around himself and/or others that deflects incoming weapons, projectiles, and magical attacks. It should also in theory protect from splash damage, fire, and dampen explosions to some degree, but I'm not going to get too technical. It's very strong but not impervious to extremely powerful attacks. It's also potentially 360 degrees around.

Healing - Can "lay on hands" basic paladin ability, which heals minor wounds and stabilizes.

Holy soul-attuned sword - A gift from his deity, Eclipse's sword contains an extension of his spirit, his own soul. Eclipse has the power to call his sword to him, knows where it is if it is taken from him and who has it, and in his hands it does extra magical/holy damage to demons/undead/evil shit. If he were to be killed, his soul would escape into his weapon and reside there with the potential for him to be resurrected by various means, which may or may not require some kind of sacrifice.

Divine social perception - Eclipse is very aware of others, and can read them. He automatically knows if another intelligent being is lying, is being controlled, and what their intentions are. He can't technically read minds.

Aura of Good - Good beings around him feel at peace or soothed, evil beings feel the weight of their guilt and fear. Good beings are more able to resist evil influence/magic around him.

Words of Inspiration - Eclipse speech is influential. He can strengthen resolve, and boost the willpower of his allies, giving them a bit more strength and endurance. His words can spur a surge in battle, renew hope, or cause deliberators to consider the higher good when arguing.

Personality: He is sympathetic to suffering, merciful, patient, trusting, more likely to lead by example than to command. Eclipse is friendly and generally happy and even playful at times.

Likes: Peace and life and light, honor, butterflies and gay things, new babies, seeing other beings turn to good. Reason, art, nature.

Dislikes: Lies, wastefulness, abuse of others, ignorance. Eclipse is loath to abandon a hopeless battle, but considers it important not to simply throw his (or any) life away. He is pained by his shortcomings, particularly that he is not a god and has limited power.

Fears: Becoming corrupted and turning to serve the forces of darkness. Losing friends and allies to this fate. Failing his goddess. The death of his goddess.

Aspirations: To spread goodness and enlightenment across the universe and all time.

Relationships: None with any beings yet in this rp.

Allies: Anyone is a potential ally.

Enemies: Enemies... are potentially redeemable.

Loyalties: Iomedae, truth, and love.

History: Eclipse was the son of a corrupt politician and a harlot girl in an old medieval-fantasy type city. His father was known, and he was well raised and was funneled into the army in his city, which consisted of the Knight of Iomedae and any and all other fighters who wanted to join to fight the demon invasion from the Worldwound. His dick of a parent was murdered when he was young, and eventually he also lost his mother, but not after he had already made adulthood. He was clearly different from the rest of the boys in appearance, charm, and physical abilities, and soon they were calling him Aasimar and treating him differently. Eclipse was believed to have manifest divine blood in his veins, which caused admiration in some and jealousy and hatred in others. He seemed to take on the lawful and good alignment.

In his first adventure, he joined a group to hunt down a terrible demon lord who had slain their city's beloved dragon protector. He fought long against the beings of hell as they poured forth from the rent in the world, called the worldwound. He later negotiated peace between two warring countries, redeemed a corrupted and insane immortal sorcerer by talking to him, worked with a semi-evil demigod to banish another demigod colossal hydra to another plane before it could wipe out a continent, gave his own blood to heal a dying race, acted as a laywer and arbiter for the Sergal empire (which included doing a LOT of paperwork), and that's probably enough good deeds for one paragraph.

@Natsucooldude Hey Nats. Do you mind removing your quote of my old CS? Although the pics are awesome, it takes up a lot of space and is now irrelevant information. I also don't want new readers to come in here and think they are reading a real CS. btw, i did tell Grey on day 1 that I would be bringing in an old character of mine with modifications, so it's cool yo.

Also Jessica is resistant to mind reading/control ever since she had to fight one previously. A very strong mind might be able to puncture her defense as I have her pegged right before getting formal psychic defense training, but she is still pretty strong in the willpower department. So it is a very strong possibility that your guy couldn't read her thoughts like that, but I don't really know.
