When you realize you gotta make an IC intro post and just '...'
@Prince of Seraphs You seem to have really interesting opinions on everyone's entries (I enjoy reading your pseudo-reviews). What's your opinion on Estelle?
It’s not everyday daughters of Aphrodite were the least popular person in any given interaction; that being said saying someone like Calista wasn’t always prepared for this kind of situation would be like insinuating children of Ares don’t sleep with their spears. Calista pursed her lips and let her hands that usually worked to accentuate her words fall to her side.
“It seems I’ve made not one, but two mistakes today. I understand now that this isn’t where I should be getting camp sweaters – I apologize.” Calista said calmly analyzing Erin. “I don’t suppose I could sacrifice this one to make it up to you?” Calista asked motioning backwards unto their mutual friend of whom she still didn’t know his name.
Calista let out a soft chuckle and took one step forward. “With all due respect though, I don’t appreciate being judged based upon my parent. I didn’t come in here wanting to braid each other’s hair and I certainly don’t want to test your patience: I made a mistake, for that I apologize.” Calista said, stopping taking a deep breath and continuing. “I get it, you’re one of the big three’s daughter, you help out around the camp, and opportunity must thrust itself at you. But all I ask is that you judge me based on my actions not my mother’s and I’ll do the same for you.” Calista could feel the tension in the air, it was palpable. But at the same time, she realized she was smiling a devilish grin – and so was she.
“I’ve got to say though, you really pull off the whole mysterious, sexy badass thing.” Calista said motioning to the girl in front of her. “I’m sure guys like him dig it.” Calista said turning Erin’s attention to Jericho, once more throwing him under the bus. She definitely hadn’t made any fast friends, if anything she felt as if she was about to be attacked but for whatever reason she was getting the same feeling she usually got off of a friend from Erin right now. It was possible she respected her for not giving up ground, but at the same time she could just be sizing her up even more. “But even you must’ve experienced even a little crush at some point right?” Calista said, trying to relate to the girl.
When you attempt to save a daughter of Poseidon from drowning, it just throws your whole day off. Calista was sopping wet underneath her newly dampened blouse and jeans, so she decided it was time to go find a spare pair of clothes. She was pretty sure when she first came to the camp she was introduced by one lovely girl by the name of Erin, daughter of Hades. Calista found her mesmerizing, she lit up the room like a beautiful rose, but instead of having thorns that rose could potentially raise the dead. Calista valued that quality in her friends. She found herself walking up, hugging her shoulders attempting to keep the warmth of her body inside of her body. She found herself pacing up and through the camp at a rather brisk pace, she didn’t want her first impression at the party to be an awkward one and done right, Calista could make a damn good first impression. Such was life as a daughter of Aphrodite.
Calista took a moment to think about who she was about to walk in on once she reached the appropriate cabin. Calista prided herself on her heritage, there weren’t too many negative connotations tied to Aphrodite, though infidelity was definitely one. Made it somewhat difficult to control that impression. People tended to get it quite often. Calista figured that the same probably happened to Erin. Daughter of the lord of the dead probably came with its own bag of impressions and insults from onlookers. Even in the demigod community, stigmas were inevitable and unavoidable. Calista finally came upon the cabins, they were all ordered in the Omega symbol in the Grecian alphabet it was a warm aesthetic. So many different cabins housing so many different people who all managed to coexist and help one another out. She looked over at the horizon that was peeking out in between the trees that surrounded the camp. She wondered if she would be leaving camp soon, she definitely felt a certain lust for adventure start to well up inside of her, it was something she craved for a while now.
Calista happened upon the Hades cabin, one of the big three. Noting that her fast friend from the lake was at the door already, she couldn’t really see what he was doing, but from it definitely looked like he was opening the door. She walked up to him, offered a warm smile and walked into the house, it was certainly a refreshing design – there wasn’t too much black. She found Erin sitting on a couch petting a small cat, which was adorable.
“Hey, it’s Erin right? I was just wondering if I could grab a hoodie or something. I tried to save a girl from drowning, but it turns out she just so happened to be the one daughter of Poseidon in this camp.” Calista said approaching the senior demigod at the camp. Her words were sure, though she did feel a little awkward about walking into the house. She looked behind her and noticed that the boy from the lake was standing in the doorway, door ajar and so was his jaw. He seemed shocked that Calista had just walked in.
“I’m sorry is this a bad time?” Calista said turning back to Erin.
Name: Estellise Sidos Heurassein Nuit. The Little Conqueror.
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Race: Faunus (Crow)
Estelle features the eyes of a Crow and once had small black wings which have since been removed.
Weapon:
Coup De Foudre is typically a regular blade, retractable and carrying it's own sheath. However it sports a dust loader when loaded with electric dust can shoot out lightning. However, it's low dust capacity and the great deal of dust it takes to create lighting, it can only hold one to two charges. This is further complicated by design. To load dust into the sword one must first sheathe it, the compartment being where the sheath lies dormant while the blade is out. Typically however, Estelle uses the lighting dust to simply imbue the blade with electricity, instead of use it as a projectile, this is much more efficient on dust.
Gelure is a steel Katana imbued with ice dust. Gelure is an odd weapon as it is weighted terribly and typically would be considered unusable by most competent swordsmen. However, because of Bianca and Estellise's semblance they are able to correct it's weighting and make use of it. She is able to use the dust inside of the Katana in a variety of ways, for example stabbing the ground they can create an igloo-like dome in for protection. They is also able to create ice mid slash and by doing so launch chunks of ice at her opponents with deadly speeds.
Semblance:
Après Moi, La Déluge (After me, the flood):
Estelle's semblance is a powerful one, giving her control over the weight of objects she is in direct physical contact with as long as she has direct physical contact with said object. This includes her own body as well as her clothes. As a senior student, Estelle has a very highly tuned degree of control over her semblance. By using this semblance it can give Estelle the appearance of having incredible strength and agility. She is able to momentarily increase the weight of an object drastically, for example a blade mid swing. Or can decrease the weight of something just the same, say a vehicle blocking her path. For most things she touches, this wouldn't help her in combat. As no one can swing a blade that weighs a ton.
However as long as Estelle is able to channel her aura around an object she is able to swing it as if it weighed only a single pound. This however has various limitations and drawbacks. The first drawback is that by utilizing Estelle's aura on her blade, making it usable and also weigh an immense amount of weight to others who happen to touch it, she puts herself at risk. A hunter or huntresses best defense is their aura and without it, they leave themselves wide open for an attack. This can become especially troublesome in an organized match as it would appear Estelle is draining her own strength in order to combat her opponent, this is why it is vytal vital that Estelle end matches of this fashion quickly.
Estelle became able to completely shatter individuals under their own weight at a distance the more she slaughtered. It seemed the blood of her victims was strengthening her semblance. She can kill about fifteen people at a time like this. She tends to utilize this not only to dispose of enemies but as an intimidation factor more than anything.
The second limitation comes from Estelle's own energy. Aura is not limitless and while it is being channeled around Estelle's blade it is seeping away. This requires Estelle to pick and choose when to use her semblance instead of using it all the time.
The third and perhaps most important limitation comes from the speed at which Estelle can properly cover an object in her aura. To channel Estelle's sword in aura, it takes all of three seconds past the point in time it has been unsheathed. However a larger object, like the car used in an earlier example, could take anywhere from one minute to five depending on the size of the vehicle. The longer it takes for Estelle to utilize her semblance the longer she is available for counterattack.
Personality:
From an outsider, looking into Estellise’s life one see’s a marvelous tale, a young girl with incredible beauty and talent that far surpass everyone else. But Estellise was not an only child, she had a sister named Bianca. She is currently buried in their family’s backyard. Estellise’s family is adored by all who don’t know them well. By those that do, they are feared and despised. Estellise permeates a certain lustfulness, though to the unconditioned this may come across as a sexual element. It is however a bloodlust far deeper than any river or ocean. She craves the kill, she uses her semblance to bypass an opponent’s Aura and snap spines at her mere touch. She attempts to mask this bloodlust by outwardly being melancholic, lethargic, and even distant. But her only thoughts are on her next kill.
Appearance:
History:
Estellise was born into a family of very powerful and very wealthy Faunus. Her mother hand wings, her father had wings, even her younger sister born a few years later would be born with wings. Estellise was born with wings, though this wasn’t something many people knew. They were slightly malformed, the wings of a crow. Under her mother and father’s tutelage she was tutored in how to use these wings to fly, but it was to no avail. The Nuit family is one that isn’t known for failures in Mistral, thusly when it was determined Estellise wouldn’t be able to fly. Her mother removed them. She was still groomed as an heiress, the dead husk of a girl that once called herself Estelle. However, all wasn’t lost. She found a new purpose in life in protecting her baby sister. Bianca was a sweet little thing, an adorable happy little girl. But the life of a Faunus wasn’t an uncomplicated one. There were those that would pick fights with Bianca, simply for those devious wings. Those elusive wings that Estellise was robbed of. Estellise found herself shirking duties and responsibilities in order to protect her younger sister to take care of her.
One day, arriving home Estellise was told Bianca was put in a school, far away. It was for the best, she had been told. The ruse didn’t last long, as it was apparently only Estellise’s mother who wanted to kill Bianca in order to raise her remaining daughter to be a true Heiress to the Nuit name. When Estellise found out that her sister was, in fact not put into a school, she was furious. She stormed into her mother’s chambers demanding an answer. She was not pleased with the results she was given. ‘It was necessary, you had to focus on your status as heiress, and you couldn’t let yourself be dragged down by that wretch.’ Such a waste of last words. The rest of the world was told that a grimm had snuck into their home, killed their mother. But it was hard to cover up what looked like an implosion. Collapsing under her own weight. It was the second time Estellise found herself tainted by the bloodlust that now envelops her very soul. However she would never escape what she felt when she snapped her mother’s spine. Euphoria, pure ecstasy.
With her mother dead and sister dead, Estellise turned her anger upon the world. She found her abilities growing rapidly the more lives she ended. By the time she had set her sights upon the whole of Mistral, she no longer needed physical contact to crush someone under their own measly weight. It was around this time that Estellise began harnessing a cult-like following. Faunus who heard her story and fought for her injustices. They would perish in droves during and between battles, but for whatever reason, Estellise still found herself healthy and on the battlefield the next morning. She just wouldn’t die.
Out of curiosity, how well balanced do our villain characters need to be? Is part of the challenge properly balancing both the weapon and semblance or can we take it too extremes?
