Current Never a good time when they have to break out the air cast. What an atrocious tackle.

Bio

MINORS: DNI

You can call me James, if you like. I live near Toronto, Canada (EDT, UTC-4). I'm one of those weird nerds that also loves sports of all types (I'd better. It's literally my job to watch hockey, and it keeps me very busy.) I am also bilingual, so you may catch me speaking/swearing in Québec French.

My roleplay interests vary greatly: anime and video game fandoms; gritty, modern realism; maybe historical fiction; or fantastical tales of monsters and magic. I wouldn't say no to a clever combination of any of those! Interesting, multi-layered characters & intriguing, thought-out plots always catch my fancy... as do enthusiastic and involved partners. I do my best to respond every day, and I will always try to inform you of an extended absence.

I've been doing this twenty-two years. You'd think such experience would improve my writing ability. The jury is still out on that one.

Yes, I know my music taste is shit.

Go Leafs!

Out.

P.S.: Misusing affect and effect is a pet peeve of mine. Watch yourself! XD XD

I envy them
Those who can't see
Those who know not
That they are not

And those who live
Blithe and free
Sins forgotten
And thus absolved

A fresh dawn in their playground
While we live in shadows
Swimming in ink

We are but a fragile dream
A singular weed
Resisting
Ever resisting

That iron dirt
That eternal law
Those who can't see
Those who know not
That they are not

Do you know?
We are fellows
Those who know not
That they are not

I think it makes more sense for Oliver to have taken one of her brother's older rooms. It's right next to the Academy, so the location is convenient for them. There wouldn't really be a point for them to live on their own with such a ready option available. Besides, being around more people would do well to bring him further out of his shell. He's a foreigner, far from home. Being able to live in a family setting would be quite advantageous for his well-being.

If you agree with that, I can't think of anything else that needs to be covered before we start.
Oliver Edward Selwyn

Background: Oliver is one of the few international students of the Academy, hailing from the English countryside, particularly Lincolnshire. His younger years were somewhat uninteresting, as his transformations never came to be an issue in a rural schoolhouse setting. In fact, his family knew next to nothing of the Academy before the European regional Death Scythe came to call. Contrary to most, Oliver felt no pull to leave his home and head to the Academy. He had grown quite accustomed to his quiet, unassuming lifestyle. Without very much going on, there never seemed to be any cause to converse with very many people. It had turned him into a somewhat reclusive, bookish type with no real interest in reality or its offerings.

His parents and older sister convinced him, however. Being a weapon was an incredibly rare gift, and it would've been foolish for him not to learn more about it and use it for a higher purpose. Above all, Oliver craved knowledge, and in the end, the Academy's emissary appealed to that side of him. The Academy's library was said to be a massive collection of tomes on the history of Demon Weapons, Kishin, Witches, and the like. Those weren't the kind of things Oliver could experience while cooped up in his English countryside home.

In his short time at Death City, Oliver has made a few friends, though none as close as his current meister. Still, his reclusive, studious lifestyle tends to get the better of him. His ability to make small-talk or start conversations is somewhat lacking, but woe betide the person who wishes to engage him in a battle of wits. He holds himself to an incredibly high standard when it comes to his lessons and his marks. Test his intelligence, and you won't be able to shut him up.

Weapon Form

I saw this one and decided that it went rather well with Oliver. He's been rather partial to the colour blue all his life, and it certainly isn't too flashy.
Slight change to the OP for this bump.
Wonderful wonderful. Yes, a katana was actually one of the forms I had in mind. A very simple yet elegant weapon.

I work well into the evening today, so it may be a while until you get my character sheet. It does look as if they're going to be complete opposites, though. :-D
That's certainly the gist of it! Glad we've got that squared away. We'll be sure to address other things as the thoughts strike us, I'm sure.

I have a couple forms in mind, but I really think it's a matter of the meister's preference. Is there a specific weapon you could see your character using? It's certainly no fuss of mine to adhere to it.
Here is the thread where our glorious story will play out.

Now, did you have any questions or concerns pertaining to my plot ideas?
I've contacted you with further information. :D
