This site's like Old Broadway...I'm seeing a young man sittin' in an old man's bar, waitin' for his turn to die.

I would sooner face outright phobia again than be given a half-hearted apology by the same systems which did nothing in the face of injustice and to now seek to make profit from our suffering.

I will never celebrate Pride Month for being stabbed in the leg and shot in the neck while it is sponsored by Chase. I will never mistake complacency for forgiveness nor acceptance.

Pride Month is celebrate by those who have never struggled. Those of us who have - those who have been harassed, assulted, detained and debased - have no such pride in it. There is only ire and spite.

So sorry if I'm not enthused. It's just that there's nothing to be happy about now, and people just buy rainbow stuff from the same corps who need us kept down to sell them in the first place.

“There was a time when I was master of the universe. As I was staying ageless and motionless before my computer, flying untouched over human frenzy, cities rose and crumbled under my thumb, tiny people ran hurriedly to their death on the roads I had built and time flew at my command.
Then it all stopped, and I had to become one of those running specks. They call it 'life.'”
Big props for getting this far. This RP was around when I first joined RPG a couple years back, and seeing it go on for just this long has honestly been pretty impressive.
The only son of a dock operator and a seamstress from Guangzhou, Kwan Tseng over time grew in love with the prospect of everything to do with the sea. From a young age, the youngster was fascinated by marine life and the pelagic, both of which have well persisted into his adult years. Coming from China into Al-Mitras to document the Aden Sea coral reefs - which by some good grace, haven't been demolished either by shifting oceanic temperatures or off-shore drilling - Kwan spends a majority of time in cooperation with the University of Almarfa's Marine Biology department, either collecting samples or providing some form of assistance in their expeditions of its shallow and deep reefs. In addition to the university, Kwan has also provided his findings in tandem with Al-Mitras' Ministry of the Environment and Water - in Kwan's own words, the coral reefs of Al-Mitras' coast would provide an excellent attraction for the booming eco-tourism industry. Much to his frustration, his efforts seem to fall upon deaf ears, with the Ministry only caring to provide a disinterested ear to his outside opinion, and little asides.
This, of course, provides excellent cover for his primary occupation: Kwan Tseng currently works as a spy in the service of the People's Republic of China's elusive Ministry of State Security, where his constant oceanic excursions give him the perfect cover to provide intelligence on the United States' activities from the Khalij Alrumaan Naval Base. Combined with his eyes and ears into the University as well as the MEW, Kwan has had little issue gathering intelligence up to this point. Results, on the other hand, have always been an issue. Al-Mitras' stubbornly conceited government has time and time again shown non-cooperative with the PRC's offers for development, instead opting to cooperate more towards the Americans. Beijing believes by now that they have offered King Yusef and his cronies more than a fair deal, and have instead recently tasked Kwan increasingly with providing intelligence on activities from the American Naval Base rather than attempt any headways into Al-Mitras' upper echelons.
Yet, come October of 2019, the whispers are abound - such that even Kwan's superiors heard of it far before he could even report it. It is widely rumored that Al-Mitras' famous oil wells have gone completely dry, and they are doing everything in their power to keep it their worst-kept secret. This turn of events will, of course, have serious ramifications for Al-Mitras: Within, its economy will simply crumble to pieces, and it would take masterful handling of the situation to keep the Kingdom afloat. Without, the extensive chaos to ensure will - no doubt - call American presence on the island-nation into question.
Either way, this is an opportunity that Kwan - and his superiors in China - make zero efforts to squander. After all, most on the island would agree that Al-Mitras is due for a more...appropriate change in leadership...
