Been lurking for a bit and keep coming back, so I guess I'll take the plunge and join sometime today. ^_^

Pokémon: Legacy of Trainers (Slice of Life RP)

Trillo quietly listened as a bunch of Pokemon and humans chatted, all of them (save for Pip) much larger than himself, and some of them he had never seen before. They all appeared to be in the care of a human, though, which was encouraging; usually humans didn't allow their Pokemon to eat each other.

Trillo turned back to Alan, curious. His trainer from before seemed to understand him a little, but that was mostly through gestures and his tone of voice.

"Hello, Alan," the Kabuto tentatively tried. "Uh..."

The rock type trailed off. Now that he was talking to a human, he didn't know what to say.

"...Nice weather we're having."

Yes, that was a good and polite thing to say. Humans loved to talk about the weather, for whatever reason. Like, it was right there, pretty obvious... but who knows what goes on in the minds of those strange creatures.

First Roleplay Idea: A slice of life about comically self-aware villains

Well, if starting up something without the original GM is super tabboo, I'm afraid it looks like we'll have to give up this idea. The players are willing, but the GM has joined RPguild, suggested an idea, and never been seen again.

Trillo continued to remain frozen inside his shell as another Pokemon tried to pull the glass chunk out of his shell. The fighting type did a better job of jiggling it loose, but it was also more frightening and a little painful for the Kabuto. With a particularly strong tug from Aura, Trillo couldn't help yelping and jolting away with an Aqua Jet, while Aura kept its grip in place. This last bit of force pulled the glass free! It also made a watery mess on the table... but that was just a minor detail, for which Trillo apologized.

Lileep munched on a berry as she blankly watched the Kabuto, a somewhat familiar face in all this chaos. The increasing efforts made to heal him, the way he and the nearby Pokemon shared a bit of friendly chitchat after. She turned back toward the Sylveon who was still there, waiting patiently to help.

"I just... I can't believe we're really..... free."

Tears welled up in the Lileep's eyes, and she allowed them to roll down. She crept a little closer to the comforting Sylveon. These Pokemon said they were here to help, and she would try to believe them. There was still a lot of pain left, a lot of lost time to recover from. But, by allowing these tears, the journey would start.

Arctozolt was less responsive to the healers around him. He ended up being sedated for just a short time, long enough to put him in a smaller room with fewer Pokemon and less stimulation. He would be a challenge to work with, but the nurses were up for a challenge.

The nurses also healed Sarah and Faye's Pokemon from their injuries received in the battle. After a brief wait, each trainer got their fully healed Pokemon back.

"Your Kabuto is ready to go," a nurse's aid called out to Alan. "It seems he spent too much time in dirty water. He doesn't appear to have gotten significantly sick from it. But we're giving you some medication he should take for a few days, just to make sure he stays healthy until it's all out of his system."

Trillo scuttled back to Pip and Alan.

"Okay, I'm ready," the Kabuto said, determined. "What else do we need to do to prepare?"

By the time all the trainers got their Pokemon back, the nurses informed them that Arctozolt would not be cleared for visitors until further notice, but Lileep would likely be ready by the next day. The Pokemon Center would use all their skills to help these fossil Pokemon with their long-term needs.

With that, the three heroic trainers were left alone in the lobby of the Pokemon Center.

Potentially Recurring Villain

Ringmaster Barley

Name: Ringmaster Barley (surname unknown... or perhaps Barley is his surname?)
Appearance: Your basic colorful-suit-wearing, whip-wielding, mustache-twirling cruel ringmaster trope.
Age: 30
Job: Con man
Personality: Barley is a skilled battler and con man, but he can quickly get angry and flustered when things don't go according to his plan. Beyond his charming front, Barley is uncaring... though he is a little less cruel to his own Pokemon team, if that means anything. He doesn't necessarily delight in cruelty as its own end, but he has no qualms about kicking the dog if it helps him reach his goals.
History: He ran a circus sideshow con with "amazing ancient Pokemon!" who were really more abused than amazing. He teleported to escape potential consequences, leaving the captive Pokemon behind. Nothing else is known about him.
Pokemon: Sableye, Fearow, Scrafty, Weezing, Mr. Mime, Kadabra. His main partner Sableye is notably cunning and vicious and may actually delight in cruelty as its own end.

First Roleplay Idea: A slice of life about comically self-aware villains

That might be a useful thing to suggest in the RP. The thousand-year-old's computer skills are not savvy enough for her to have figured that out on her own.

I'm not ready to recur that character yet. It'll be more satisfying to wait for round two. It's somebody else's turn to make a plot for an "episode." I'm hanging up the main GM hat for now.

@Vampiretwilight@Alisdragon911@Blackmist16 I plan to make a wrap-up post about the fossil Pokemon at the Pokemon Center, so that everyone can close out that plot and move on to other stories. If that's okay - you can say no if you don't like that idea. If nobody objects, I'll do it this evening. If everyone approves in the next four hours, I'll post it sooner.
