Started my first ever pure mage character in Skyrim

Or any Elder Scrolls game, actually. I'm always a spellsword/theif. Thought I'd finally break the mold and be a filthy Thalmor graceful High Elf mage. The first thing I did after breaking out of Helgen was wrecking shit in Bleak Falls barrow and sequence breaking everything by grabbing the Dragon Stone. Then I went off to do the College of Winterhold quests....at level six.

A sad time indeed...I'm currently at the Labyrinthian, and I'm so bloody underpowered that I'll probably have to do stuff elsewhere for a while and build up my magicka pool. I think Faendal is the only reason I got THIS far.

I hope you can stick with it, I tried going pure mage with a Drow once, but eventually got bored so I made him a heavy-duty battlemage, who can also sneak around well and is a decent sniper with a bow.

I just got the game a few weeks ago and I made so many characters I can't keep track of all the seperate saves. I've only made it to level 8 on my Imperial who uses a bow and one hand weapon. On the bright side, I'm having a ton of fun just exploring around and probably totally breaking all the sequences.

The most fun I ever had in an Elder Scrolls game was playing a thief in Oblivion. Man I miss Oblivion.

I played the beta, I enjoyed it, just not 15 dollars a month enjoy. I don't have the time to get invested in a game that requires me to pay into it every month. I'm strongly considering removing my Xbox Live subscription for that reason.

Pure mage? o.o Wow, that's a rather tall order, hope it work out for you.
BTW, which school is your mage specializing in? Destruction/Conjuration/Restoration/what?

Blegh. Studios need to stop making MMOs. They're not fun anymore, it's all repetitious garbage. The things that make single player games like Skyrim wonderful is the variety within the monotony, even if you're fighting tens of mercenaries in the cave, they all are a bit different in their looks, fighting style and approach. Their MMO equivalents are bland, look the same, move the same, and get killed the same.

Plus, respawn is really immersion-breaking.

I think companies need to make more action oriented MMOs like Planetside 2. It proved you don't need hot keys and fetch quests to make an MMO work.

Hell, even Everquest Next is basically combining MMO concepts with a voxel engine like minecraft that let them literally shape the world and build their own towns. Now that is fucking cool.
