@Rilla

Here's a link to a very basic CS for a character I write on another site that I'd like to use here as well. I'm trying to focus more on (and get better at) the storytelling aspect of fighting instead of just beating the crap out of my opponent, so I'm thinking an unranked match would probably be best.

You can go ahead and pick whoever you think would be the best match for her out of your characters (and we can assume that any unique weapons they carry can combat a lightsaber).

I'll go with Alphonse.

We can craft the story around your character wanting to enter the Way of the Warrior tournament, and seeking out the winner of the inaugural one. Unless you have another story.

I'm a fan of adding stories, so I can help with that. Unranked is fine.

It shall be. I'm rusty with Alphonse and this isn't even the actual incarnation. But it should be fine with this being more story based.

I think Alphonse has a decent defense against double-leg takedowns.

Um... You're fighting a female. >_>

As for the SL of the fight, perhaps she has encountered him in a fighters resort of some sort and he requested a sparring match. She's not really the type to go seeking out violence and splendor, which is one of the more interesting and challenging parts of writing her in a combat environment.

That'll work for me.

And the NAD comment was for Skally.

Would you like to start? I owe Melon a reply first.

The Force vs. Chi. This really should produce some interesting fight scenes. Perhaps Alphonse has a sword comprised of Phrik or Cortosis in order to parry the light saber, or could even be one of the legendary Darkswords.

I think his chi-infused swords are similar enough to a Jedi Katana to combat a lightsaber without difficulty.

Hopefully tomorrow brings me some movement on my matches.

I plan on hosting the next tournament, as it may be the biggest(I think, unless there is another before that. Will check soon)

It'll either be Way of the Warrior: Seven Sins(Or just Wrath), and will feature a lobby as in past incarnations, as well as sabotages. Depending on the number of players, some who fight notably and lose may be revived, and asked to continue on up until we get proper numbers(4, 8, 16)

Or. And this is a big OR/Maybe;

Have preset character types:

Fire/Heat, weapon type of choice
Water/Ice, weapon type of choice
Earth/Metal, weapon type of choice
Air/Smoke,weapon type of choice

Etc.

I actually have characters, or rather had, that fit these as part of a Resistance Storyline, going against my main.

If you've read Worren, you'd get the gist.

Manipulate element and secondary, as well as weapon of choice including size and density. For instance, Derik could manipulate electricity and magnetism, as well as chains.

Everyone would be at the same strength, thereabout, bringing it mostly to just skill. Overlaps of elements allowed. Secret and stuff. Until the actual matches.

Battlegrounds would benefit both players, but may give it away; unless I have them post opening stances first(white room) then post the arena.

I'm thinking of a more detailed tier list that you guys may or may not find helpful and could maybe be used for some battles. It also keeps opponents more packed on a level playing field by having a certain amount of points they can put into their character. Here it is so far (the left number is the points). Things like enhanced reactions and such could all fit into abilities:

Ew, numbers and stats. Can we please keep this away from the Arena and keep it at Tabletop? I'm sorry, @ImportantNobody, I'm sure it works for some people, but for me having numbers and stats involve just takes away what I believe is the best part about RPB's and that's the aspect of writing skill and being able to outsmart your opponent rather than having to write out your reactions based on certain stats and numbers.

If anything, stats and numbers only increase the skill required to defeat your opponent. All they do in most cases is define the framework that you have to use, thus restricting you to pre-specified capabilities and forcing your skill to play a larger role because you can't ad-lib things on the spot.

I have two questions. 1) are you going to use T1 and 2) will you allow unnerfed gunfighters in?
