Suki sighed softly as Umichi spoke to her, as he seemed to think something was bothering her. Well, of course something was. They were trapped here. And she felt so alone, so very alone. She never knew just how much she had valued her brothers presences. When you had spent your whole life with 8 people around you, constants in your life, to suddenly not have them, it was a shock to her. But she just shook her head, and said "I'm okay, really" She said, trying to put as much cheer and good feeling into the three words.

And now she smiled genuinely, "Thank you, though". As they continued to fight, to make their way to Geniku. As Umichi went to help some people, Suki looked about, with wariness. She couldn't help but think that the game was sending more monsters, spawning more. As if it were a test. Or as if it was really trying to cull the numbers. She engaged another couple of frenzy boar, As Aikoto soke, she stopped, and looked at him.

"Im not afraid, and I don't feel despair. I miss my family, and worry about them. I know that they will be afraid, and devastated" While she thought the offer of protection, and all the else, was sweet, she found it annoying. She didn't want to be treated like she was breakable. Like she needed protection. "Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't hold my own with you guys."

She looked up at the night sky as well. Back home, she had always enjoyed watching the stars, and as often as she could, she would sleep outside. The stars were just so...amazing, the night sky so vast. Eventually though, she shook her head, notcing how close they were to Geniku. "I think that this world is beautiful, despite everything"

She continued on, and as they reached the town, she immediately began to look for an inn, finding a small one. Geniku wasn't a large town, and she doubted many people would come here, but she still figured they needed to get rooms as quick as possible.@Savo@Little_ninja@Ebil Bunny

Umichi

As Suki spoke the words "I'm okay, really" with as much cheer and good feeling, Umichi mentally sighed, so she didn't notice him sighing, compared to hers. And then she smiled genuinely, "Thank you, though". He smiled softly back at her. She seemed better now, but, knew that there was something else. But until she spoke about it, it wasn't his place to butt in.

Aikoto then gave a spiel to Suki. "... Even if its our first steps, it will help everyone work towards a bright future. The stronger we are, the more relieved and encouraged a person feels. Listen, I can get a semblence of the despair your feeling from whatever thoughts you have, and I even feel some too to be quite frank. I might be incorrect, but I understand the immense fear you have. I promise to make that go away for you, alright? The same goes for the rest of the people here. So please, don't look so gloomy. Keep your chin up, and I'm sure Umichi, Ritaka, you, I, and the rest will conquer this game, right guys?"

With that, Umichi mentally face palmed himself. He replied "Of course we are gonna conquer this game." He spoke with some confidence. The reason he face palmed was the way Aikoto addressed the issue at hand about Suki. Well, at least he got some information about her. She was lonely, and also did not want to feel protected. A life of being protected, maybe? the thought passed his mind.

"I never really noticed the night sky, nor appreciated it before. Even if it is fabricated, it looks... nice, doesn't it? Maybe when I return, I can go on a trip with my friends to enjoy nature for what it is... Hey Suki, Ritaka, Umichi, what do you think?" Aikoto suddenly said. "Of course you can." Umichi replied

It seemed everyone else seemed to enjoy the night sky, leading to Umichi dashing forward to kill of a small mob that went to charge at the group. Walking back to the group, he continued to follow at the rear as they reached Geniku. He could see the girl hurry off looking for an inn. Following after her, they found an inn. Stepping inside, the NPC called out, "Welcome! Would you like to stay at my inn? It will be 20 col a room per night." Letting everyone else who wanted to go before him, he then walked up to the NPC and was prompted a pop up box.

Would you like to pay 20 col for a room?
O X
Albert

Selecting O, he checked the time. "Looks like it's getting late. 10:30 huh ..." He said to no-one in particular. "Well, I think we should get some food, I'm starving. What do you guys think?" Umichi knew that he wasn't going to actually fill his stomach, but in this game you still needed food. He learned that from the information he gathered in the beta. Although, he didn't play much, he was able to get hands on lots of information.

YukiHana

Being corrected on what to call the girl, YukiHana stayed in her position nodding her head to show that she was saying yes. "We can split up, but we can't run too far. I don't know how far the party member indicator goes, so we're not taking chances." Nagayama spoke to Jax, before turning her attention to YukiHana. "You promise you won't wander off anywhere, Yuki? Don't worry...just calm down. They're here somewhere, I know it, Also, do you know what your grandpa and siblings look like in real life? Anything that sticks out?"

YukiHana, shook her head. It wasn't that there weren't features that sticked out, but, she just didn't want to speak and to cry again. She waited patiently. Sniffling less and less.

Minako and her travelling companions arrived at the next town just as the night fell over Aincrad. Immediately after, she excused herself and said she’d meet with they at the tavern. She then went to sell some of her useless drops to clear space in her inventory and pack a few more support items, including three [Teleport Crystal], just in case something bad may happen on their little quest. She also bought a hooded cloak, to cover herself, just in case it rained.

Once she arrived at the tavern, she took a seat on the same table as her companions and began talking to them unceremoniously. ”[So, does anyone of you know anything about this game? I’m a total beginner at this

Geist

Geist didn't give his charging wolf another chance to bite at him as the blade of his dagger began to glow. Feeling the system take over he allowed his arm to shoot forward just before the beast leapt, the blade piercing straight through the hide of its neck and causing it to whine in pain. It didn't go down from one attack much to Geist's dismay, the red bar floating near it shrinking down to red, but there was a faint shattering sound that accompanied the attack. Without waiting for the enemy to recover, he slashed again without the systems help and saw his attack do far more damage than expected, draining the remainder of the lifebar and blowing the beast into a shower of pixels. He was starting to get the hang of it, little by little. Now all he had to do was train these movements into muscle memory...

He saw Dar finish another wolf with a powerful overhead swing of his weapon and couldn't help but be impressed by the greatsword's effectiveness. Geist also got to see one of its drawbacks as the slower speed of the heavy weapon didn't allow Dar to block the attack from the second beast; he winced as its maw bit down on the other man's shoulder. The direwolf bounded away for another charge just as Dar fell back beside Geist. The other man noticed something, there was a figure fighting another set of wolves not fifty feet away, and Dar seemed inclined to go help.

"Geist! Over there! C'mon!"

'Worry about your own self!' He wanted to shout but once again the speed of the wolves came as a surprise as Geist was barely able to react to another lunge attack. Luckily he was not the target and Dar was better prepared, bringing his sword up before him so that the wolf's maw struck the flat of his blade. It bounced back with a whine, landing on wobbly legs as if dazed, and Geist clearly saw the use of a <<Parry>> skill. Though Dar asked for his assistance, Geist ignored the man and focused instead on the enemy still before him. He knew he couldn't use his system attack again, he'd learned of the cooling period while fighting boars, but he'd felt a system hum from his last attack. Holding his dagger before him, he tilted the blade until he noticed the faint glow begin to form. With a growl he charged forward, determined not to let the creature recover, and slashed down diagonally drawing a long line of red across its side. He continued the motion and used the momentum to bring his blade around in a sideways figure '8' pattern that slashed the wolf a second time. It burst apart and a proud smirk spread on Geist's lips until he remembered Dar was still fighting. With a sigh, he rushed towards them to join the fray.

It didn't take long for the three of them to finish off the rest of the mangy beasts, though Geist was noticeably panting by the end. He'd taken a few hits but was glad to see his yellow health-bar slowly replenishing and Dar's health seemed to be alright as well, though a bit lower from the initial attack he'd taken. "See...?" He said with more than a hint of sarcasm. "Not too much trouble..."

"I know a little. I researched the game for a while before I entered the game. I have a rough idea about how much EXP you can get per creature, and I know a little about some of the quests. I was friends with a beta tester IRL, and they gave me some tips before we came in. I was unable to find them in game, but I know they are fully capable of surviving. Anyway, I know that the first boss drops a rare item, however I do not know what it is. If we are going to stay as a party in order to beat this boss, I propose that whoever delivers the final shot may keep this mysterious item, however if they do not want it, they are able to give it to whomever they deem fit." Asuna sat across from her two companions, trying her best to recall the information her friend had given her.

Cam-Cam

It did not take Cam-Cam very long to find his way back to the starting city now that he had his map out. An hour or so probably passed since the announcement and no progress was made from the silly boy so far. He was still level two and did not gain enough experience to hit three yet, he did however have enough material to sew up his little boar hat. At least with that he will be able to feel comfortable walking around now.

"Heh! This isn't too bad! I'm already getting used to the controls! At this rate I will be able to get a new set of clothes! Hehehe~" He said in a cheerful manner as he entered the city from the opposite side of where the meeting point was. The city was packed with players like always and from the looks of it everyone was beginning to party up and plan how they were going to get out of the first floor. It was Cam-Cam's intention to party up with whoever sent the party invite earlier...which he mistakenly declined out of sheer clumsiness. He just hoped it was not too late to join the party.

As he was making his way to his destination, he heard someone randomly calling out for him which just made his ears twitch like some sort dog.

"Hey there, Mr? Probably... You look like a reliable... person?"

Cam-Cam instantly stopped in his tracks and looked around curiously wondering who said that. There he spotted a girl waving out to him and questioned himself if it was really him she was calling out to. He faced towards her direction and pointed at himself in confusion trying to confirm it. "Me?..." He asked quietly.

"Are you in a party or anything?"

The second question confirmed it! This girl was probably going to meet up with the others at the gate! The expression on Cam-Cam's face quickly brightened up and he had a big smile running across his face. Cam-Cam quickly darted over to the girl and stopped directly in front of her with his hands clasped together. He was quick, like a jack rabbit on moonshine. His eyes were sparkling with excitement as he looked at her "No, I'm not in a party! Why?! Do you want to be?! Are you the one who sent the invite earlier?! Pleeeeeese tell me!" He asked acting like some kind of hyperactive kid. This girl either made the best or worse mistake of her life by choosing him.

- Ritaka -
As the others headed towards the Geniku Inn, Ritaka held back behind the group, until he sidestepped into an ally way. He followed the ally until he came out the other side. Looking up at a sign across the street, he smiled.
They're gonna love this... He thought, then entered the shop.

"Greetings, how may I help you?" the NPC asked. A window popped up in front of Ritaka, showing the things he could buy.
"Wow, there's even more selections then there were in the beta test!" Ritaka thought aloud, then purchased an item.

With that, he simply exited the store, and headed back towards the inn. Then a sudden thought occurred.
Actually, I should probably go back and buy something else as well, give them a little variety to choose from. He thought.

He headed back into the shop, and began looking through the items. The first was easy, he had already known what he wanted to before he got there. However, there was so much to choose from, he had no idea what to get. He would get it all if he could, but of course, he didn't have enough money.

He tried thinking about what his new friends would like, but he didn't know them too well yet. He would have asked them what they wanted, but that would have ruined the surprise.
After much thought, he finally decided on something, and began heading back to the inn.

"Well, that's a lot for a person like me, who barely played games before, to process at one go. Actually," Minako made a brief pause and kicked the ground lightly and gazed at her virtual legs before continuing, "I only tried this game because my friends said that here I could do something very dear to me again. They said that they would meet me once I had logged in, but I couldn't find them anywhere until now."

"But, enough of me bothering you with my problems." Minako took a small breath to recompose herself and then, with her carefree smile back in face, she waved the NPC barmaid and place an order for three cups of ale, "Anyway, since I shanghaied both of you into helping me, tonight's my treat. We may not be old enough to drink IRL, but since this is a game, I guess no one will be bothered. Right?"

Dar continued to move towards Linc while keeping an eye on the position of the wolves. It seemed that Geist was handling himself well enough, though Dar couldn't quite figure out if Geist was just caught up fighting his own opponent or if he really wasn't going to help him with Linc's wolves.

It wasn't important at the moment, he had to stay focused. The wolf that Dar had parried wasn't done with him yet. The wolf started after him again after it had picked itself up, and was hot on Dar's heels.

"I've had just about enough of you!" Dar growled. As the wolf closed in, Dar took a stance and brought his sword back across his body and over his shoulder.

<<Back rush>>

Dar brought countered the weakened wolf and cleaved it in half. Rather than being attacked again like before, it seemed as if the fighting had died down. Dar made his way to Linc and checked him for any serious injury. He glanced back at Geist and gave him a nod. It seemed as if they had all made it out ok.

"Rough first day as well huh? Seems like it's dangerous to be out in this part of the field without help. Name's Dar. You said you're Linc? You ok?" Dar asked.

If her first impressions of the boy had been bad, they were nothing compared to what Pyotr thought when he replied. He squealed like an overexcited puppy, grinning idiotically... In hindsight, this may have been a mistake. She had two options; she could try and stick it out, enjoy the advantage of number and hopefully attract someone more reliable, or she could ditch him and try again.

. . .

She went with option two. 'A-ah... Sorry, I think I mistook you for someone else...' There was no way she could stomach this much hyperactivity; Pyotr would have to find someone on her wavelength, even if it took a bit longer... Not that she had much time anyway. 'But no, that wasn't me. I'm looking for m-my... uh, yeah my friend from... school. Kinda.' Blatant lie though it was, it ought to be enough of a figleaf to cover her escape. Pyotr took a few tentative steps away, smiling blandly... and stopped when the guy appeared to be following her. This is gonna be a pain in the arse... I'll feed him, then skip out while he's distracted. 'I... um... I'm really sorry for getting confused. Do you know where the nearest tavern is? My... friend might have gone there. I'll buy you dinner.' Despite her rosy smile, the inner Pyotr was sighing irritably. Why the fuck did I have to do this to myself... Could at least have snagged a girl, would have been less creepy... And he was creepy, if only by her own rather harsh standards. What kind of nutjob acted so airy-fairy hours after being sentenced to death in a damn game? Eager to wash her hands of the entire affair, she offered a fairly convincing fake grin. 'You look like you've been grinding, so you must be pretty hungry right?'

Rey

Rey was somewhat happy after the progress they made today, even if they were this death game. She sent the two a smile as she walked with her rapier still in her right hand. The female decided it was best to keep her weapon in her grasp just in case they were to get attacked by anything. She held it up in front of herself as they went. She observed it silently. I never thought I'd ever be up close to a weapon such as this one - or any weapon at all.

"This place is really amazing. Though it was created by a total nut-job. But, all in all, this is kind of a cool thing - except with the whole 'if you die in here you die in real life' thing," Rey shrugged a response.

The town seemed to get bigger and bigger as they walked towards it. They were almost there. . .Rey couldn't wait to see what Geniku had in store for them. Oh, the shops that she could visit after they arrived! She was absolutely giddy that she broke into a run. She wanted to get there as fast as she could.

Seeing her traveling companion's reaction, Minako was quick correct the misunderstanding that she caused, "No, no, it's seems you've got me wrong, if I told you what I'm talking about you would probably laugh, 'cause it's rather silly, at least I think so." She said while scratching the back of her head. "Maybe I'll tell you someday, it's just that it's sort of embarrassing to do it now. Anyway, let's forget about the silly stuff and talk about profit."

Then, Minako finished her ale in one go before slamming the cup at the table, however because it's not the real deal that she was drinking she didn't felt the wave of pleasure that was supposed to follow it.

She turned to her companions with a shrewd smile in her lips and said, "How do you think that we should split our gains in this little expedition of ours, huh? Since I'm paying for your help with my craft I'll have priority on any raw materials and I guess that we should split any money in equal parts, but I'm open to discuss the other things like weapons and other treasure that we might come across."

After shoving another person out of his way, Ojiisan felt a tap on his shoulder. Ojiisan turned around in response to the tap. The person who tapped him on the shoulder was a skinny young male with long brown hair. Then the male said, "Ojii-san, by any chance is that the girl you’re looking for?” while pointing off to their far right.

Ojiisan's eyes followed to where the young male was pointing, and then they met their destination, a crying little girl. From where he was Ojiisan was unable to tell if it was Hanako or not. "I can't tell from here, one way to find out," answered the old man, "HANAKO!!!" 'If that little girl wasn't Hanako, hopeful she would be able to hear him,' hoped Ojiisan.

Lao Jaximas

@ItsToppyTippers @PKMNB0Y

As they approached the town, Lao could not help but wonder what the next day would bring, the next week, month. Even if the game lasted that long, would they be stuck fighting and grinding forever. Lao really did not like the thought, not one bit, but that was the hand he was dealt as his father always said. Everyone may have not accepted that fact, some commuted suicide, or maybe attacked others and killed them. That last part was a bit disheartening, it went as far as to make him bring his hand to his blade and griping it for a few seconds before calming down.

Lao was finally granted the privilege of being thrown out of his own thoughts when Ayame spoke. Her concerns were justified, Lao went as far as to agree with her. But it was obvious their thoughts differed in such things like these. "It makes sense, low risk, low reward, we're getting what were getting and we're gonna have to deal with it for now." he said placing his hands in his pockets, they would need these boars until they reached the Fields, then they could fight a more powerful and rewarding enemy.

Lao glanced back at Rey when she spoke, it was mostly referring to her amazement for the game, despite the creators...mental faculty, which was in question. "This came could have become huge, I don't know to much about games, but I'm sure there is this league for Games like this. Lao said scratching his check, trying his beast to remember what it was called, one of the maids children mentioned it to him before. "But look on the bright side, this game will open up the path to newer, stronger, and better games, that's something to look forward to, if we survive." he said with a slight chuckle, as if trying to play off the last comments negativity.

Suddenly, Rey broke into a race for the town of Geniku, calling for them to hurry. Lao did not understand why she was so excited, they would barely have anytime to have much fun, they would probably set out early the next morning to get grinding again. Lao sighed and walked after her, it was not to long after that when they made it into the town. Lao immediately made his way to a Inn and asked for a room. Lao payed the necessary Col for a one bed room, it was not proper for a man and a woman to sleep unmarried in the same room, plus, he did not want to pay for their rooming. "Im heading out for a bit, I'll see you guys later." he said before quickly walking off. In reality, Lao just wanted something to eat, he did deserve a meal after the work that they had been through today. Lao found an open air cafe, many tabled were outside, but there were some inside. Lao took a seat in one of the outside tables and glanced at the menu that popped up in his Vision Center. Lao could not choose, mostly because he could not recognize any of the food they offered, no chicken, pasta, nothing. Lao sighed and shrugged, he closed his eyes and randomly picked one, hopefully this would be good.

"I'll be awaiting that knowledge, then." Asuna sipped at her ale as to girl spoke. "That would work. You would of course recieve the materials, and money is the easiest to sort out. Same with EXP. For the weapons, it would depend on what weapons people want. I, for example, am in need of a suitable rapier and a sword, much like the two I am carrying here. I am also in need of a powerful katana, as I plan to unlock the Katana ability soon. However, one of you may need a different weapon, or even the same as myself. I propose that whoever needs the weapon is allowed to have it, and whoever deals the last blow is allowed first choice on the items. Treasure is harder to deal out, however I believe we should go with the last hit, first served idea. Is that alright with you two?"

Fujiwara

Fujiwara glanced at the townscape, making note of how the area was designed. The elevated location seemed to be a reasonable location to build a town, which at the very least meant that the designers had at least put some degree of thought into level design...

Just as he began going off on his own mental tangent, though, Minako and Asuna seemed to slip off and do their own things for the moment. Exploring the town didn't seem like a bad idea at all...

Taking the moment of reprieve to repair his equipment and update his stats, Fujiwara noticed the two other party members slipping off into the tavern. Well, there was no point in not following...

Sitting down near the table Minako and Asuna were at, Fujiwara quietly listened in on the conversation that seemed to be bouncing about between the two girls. So the wannabe blacksmith was a greenhorn at MMOs, huh? Great.

As soon as he opened his mouth to speak, though, a mug of ale was delivered the the table for each of the three party members. He grimaced, shaking his head at the drink. Alcohol and him... They didn't get along.

"Sorry, but I'm fine with a cup of water or some tea. I don't... Like alcohol." He stated as Minako began to switch topics. Well, she did have a point with that, though...

"I think money's evenly distributed anyhow, so there's no issues with that. As for items... Armor should go to the frontline, lighter equips to the assassins and such. Item drops... Should be fine if you keep a hold on them, given that we haven't a clue what will or won't be useful in the future. That sound about right?" he asked the group as he flagged down a waitress for some water and a meal. "And don't worry about paying for me; just give me priority in future deals and I'll be fine."

His ears perked up, though, when Asuna mentioned katanas. Shoot. They were in this game?

"On the note of weapons... You can have first dibs, sure. I'll only need a katana when I can use 'em, so."

@KoL@Asuna Yuuki

Ayame

Ayame nodded at Lao's response-it seemed reasonable enough, given that nobody wanted to be risking their lives in this death game. But from what she had heard and researched, it seemed logical to assume that whatever Lao had in mind was at least a few times more difficult than simply killing pigs.

As she began to speak, though, Rey immediately goaded everyone into running after her towards Geniku. Ayame smirked; being on the track team meant that running this distance would be snap.

Well, as least if it was flat. She had never really gotten into cross-country running.

Putting all of her effort into the run, Ayame dashed towards her companion, catching up in no time at all before running side by side with Rey as they reached the gates of Geniku, at which point Ayame sprinted into the town, smiling triumphantly back at Rey.

"Well, that was fun. Tiring, but fun." Ayame said, waiting for Rey to reach the inner gates as well. Lao immediately went off on his own, but that wasn't worrisome at all; for now, the two of them had a town to explore.

"There anywhere you want to check out first?" she asked, shifting the mood away from the somber atmosphere that floated around them only minutes ago.

"Hopefully we will be able to distribute any items and other things without argument. That is all I desire. In a game where you can actually die, arguments are as dangerous as a sword." "Sounds good" Suki said. Food did sound appealing. Suki knew that it wasn't necessarily needed for their bodies, but the signals the game gave them informed them that they needed food, water, and sleep. She wondered briefly how sleep would be here. Would they just have hours of blank? Or some connection to the real world?

The real world? The more time they stayed here, the more it seemed like it was becoming real. she refused to think on that. She didn't respond right away, getting a room for the night, mentally calculating her remaining Col. She sighed softly. Soon, they would, well, she would, have to go on a quest, or figure out how to get more col soon.

Well, hopefully they would be able to do the quest that Ritaka seemed to know about. She stepped back, so the others could interact with the inn keeper and get a room, glancing about the inn. It seemed quite homey, cosy and welcoming. She smiled, and allowed herself to relax. But that brought about thoughts that she didn't want to think about yet.

She squirmed, looking about again. She remembered Umichi saying that he would be happy to talk. But did she want t talk? She didn't know. But she didn't want to feel so alone. Ritaka seemed to have disappeared, gone somewhere, and Aikoto seemed...somewhere. She shifted slightly, "hey, Umichi...What do you think's going to happen back home?" She saw Ritaka returning from where ever he had gone, well pleased with himself is seemed.

It was almost nighttime and Jason was repeating the same thing over and over again while he was walking back to his house. Jason kept complaining about the deicision where his father moved the whole family to Japan.

Jason reached his house and the moment he kicked away his shoes he noticed a big package placed beside the shoes shelf with a note on top of it. "From Kinji," Jason took the package that his friend Kinji gave and dragged his lazy feet up to his room on the second floor."It better be working now." After a few minutes and several tries, the NerveGear finally start responding. Jason followed the instruction which was to touch his shoulders, hips and legs for some sort of measurement.

"Link start!"

Players who just join the game for the first time are required to set up their avatar. "Whatever..." Jason quickly finished his avatar setup and he was then spawned in the center of a big city. Jason does not know what he should be doing now, his friend, Kinji told Jason to wait until he was online so he can help Jason explore the new game. It happened too fast, suddenly he was teleported to a big field, with a big fountain in the middle. "Seems like I'm not the only one that was teleported here," as players began to appear around him, some players were confused and some other in the other hand were excited for what was going to happen.

A mysterious figure with dark red robes appeared above the place and claimed himself as the creator of all these - Akihiko Kayaba. He was explaining about what was going on but Jason really did not care about a single word Akihiko Kayaba has spoken until he heard, "No logout..." and right after that, "...if you die in the game, or someone attempts to forcefully pull the nerve gear off your head while you play, you will die in real life!"

Confusion and fear can be smell across the whole place, some players started to run away from the field, some players stood there trying to process what they just heard. "What should I do now?", Jason thought to himself thinking maybe the police will hear about this soon and the players will be rescued. Jason walked away from the chaos calmly, sit down in a stairway and started to read the guidebook he got from the starting NPC near the square.

There is just only one goal until the rescue reaches him - Do Not Die.
