I'm working on a post, trying to work on the lore of the avatars.
From my original design of David, to seeing other peoples characters such as Germaine - I've kinda made it that David was in control, with Regirock slumbering inside of him, rarely if ever coming to the surface - but Germaine woke him up a little.
I feel if the logic process of the more in control the legendary Pokemon is, the more efficiently they can use their powers makes sense. I don't know what you guys think of that though?
Sounds fine with me - as long as you aren't doing anything that the other players aren't able to, then I don't see any harm adding some narrative depth :)
It can also be a used as a retrospective explanation for how Seras used her Dazzling Gleam to help break up the fight - I was considering describing some sort of Death Star II-esque array of gemstones focusing the light as a metaphorical shot at the roof, but I think I'll save that for when she actually uses it during a battle :P
