One good look at Falisia makes her origins readily apparent—the burnt skin and darkened hair coupled with brown, almond eyes give away the southern Phoeni girl before she even needs to speak. The similarity with her homefolk end there however. Coddled indefinitely in a palace, Falisia's body has not faced the strife of true life in the Three Sands; her skin feels as smooth as a grape, free of every blemish in scar that would await a commoner while her walk is rather lively and free in contrast to the dreary shuffle of her robe-adorned servants. Indeed, Falisia has so enjoyed the easy life of a noble that it can be difficult to guess if her small 135 pound frame is that of a teenage girl or that of a prepubescent boy.
When it comes to fashion, Falisia truly pays homage to the name "Goldtooth." At all times, save for bed time, she can often be seen wearing a series of gold rings around her wrists and ankles, as well one large ring that snuggly hugs her neck. These rings are not intended to be a way for Falisia to show off, but rather they are ornaments forced upon her since childhood to denote her royal blood and have since grown on her. She would simply feel naked without them nowadays.

As a social butterfly stricken with a case of curiosity, Falisia enjoys a natural affinity for engaging with people. She holds no qualms with holding lengthy conversations, even if her talking partner is a dreary and boring fellow. It's not difficult to want to speak with her either given the honesty of her curiosity about others; additionally, she's a rather altruistic and open-minded person that rarely breeds conflict, making her to be much more understanding than the others of her social class. This, however, also reveals a weakness of hers—she's completely lacking in a firm hand. Whereas, for example, a regular royal would punish a thief in the kingdom, Falisia might simply demand an apology and a return of the stolen object. This is a weakness that makes her prime in being taken advantage of, especially by other and more opportunistic nobles.

Sure, merely being born to the king of Faeron ensured her authority above the regular citizen, but she was a simple small fry in the politics of nobility. As the youngest of the king's many children, she was certainly the least important in the dynasty since she stood farther in line for the throne than any of her siblings. She could have been married off to a wealthy and ambitious nobleman in the family just like her other sisters had done, but no suitors ever came and snatched up the opportunity. Ultimately, Falisia just wasn't relevant enough for her father to focus on her. Whether that was a blessing in disguise remains to be seen.
As the king would not put in the effort to teach Falisia the ways of their house himself, he practically left his daughter in the constant care of a loyal servant girl named "Shevar." This woman, though a commoner, would come to be something of a mother-figure responsible for teaching Falisia how a princess must behave. This included things like what to wear in public or how to act with subtly in the royal court, the latter of which Falisia found herself horrendous with given her straightforward naivety. Still, the hardest lesson Shevar had to instill within the girl was how dangerous the outside world was compared to the inner workings of the Hahra castle. Often, Falisia's curiosity (and disregard for Shevar's rants) persuaded her to sneak out of the castle to see what it was like. She'd never go far, simply a couple paces from the castle's wall to see the edges of what she guessed to be the town's market. Seeing how the people outside the castle were always far less reserved and boisterous always excited the princess.
One day, she had the nerve to actually walk into the market instead of just observe from afar. None of the commoners could really recognize her since so few had been in the king's castle, but her luxurious garments attracted a lot of attention. She could feel eyes on her constantly but it wasn't until she felt a tug on her wrist and noticed her golden wrist-ring missing that she ran back for the castle. The experience haunted her enough that she never walked into the market again, though she would still observe the place from a distance occasionally. It was fun to play with danger after all.
The fact that Falisia could sneak in and out of the castle made her feel awfully clever. It wasn't until she met her father's financial advisor, Noman the "Desert Spider," that she felt incompetent at her own lack of cunning. That's not to say she had a high opinion of the man. Falisia would sometimes stand in her father's court and watch as Noman cheated, heckled, and blackmailed regional business leaders in open daylight in the name of profits. The king, evidently, did not mind Noman's methods as he only reward the man for each successful deal. The young Falisia felt resentful at the injustices done to the commoners, but she also felt jealous that a snake such as Noman could effortlessly obtain her father's attention. It certainly pushed the princess from the "do no evil" message of Shevar's teachings.
It was unfortunate for the king that Noman the Desert Spider was an ambitious man. Despite the success he had under the crown of Hahra, he still lacked the official status of nobility and the perks that accompanied it. Noman, to obtain what he desperately desired, planned to marry into the Hahra dynasty through the use of a shrewd tactics.
In careful and deep secrecy, the man used his connections to convince the many merchants of the kingdom to halt business for a time, essentially bringing the economy in the region to a halt. To add to the damage, Noman under collected taxes on the king's behalf, falsified financial books, and did everything under the sun to stop the money flow. The king's coffer's eventually began to shrink until he was forced to beg for Norman's help. With that, the Desert Spider could ask of his lord anything and so he asked for a betrothal. Noman claimed that he could remedy the financial problems of the kingdom but at the cost of Falisia's hand in marriage. Noman was met with total rejection. The king would ordinarily have no problem with marrying his final daughter off to a some noble, but the idea of marrying one of his own to someone lacking royal blood seemed inconceivable.
Even Falisia's father had his limit though. When it became harder and harder to pay his own servants, the king reversed his decision on the matter and agreed to a betrothal. Not days later did the coins beginning returning, and yet the king was still dissatisfied. He had essentially chosen coin over honor, a heavy burden for him to carry. Not long after did he consider going back on the betrothal, but such talks always caused the coins to come slowly once more. It soon became heavily apparent that the king's riches were being held hostage.
In a desperate bid, Falisia's father attempted to salvage both his riches and his family's honor. He told Noman that the marriage would indeed happen but that his daughter would first be sent to the Conclave to further herself until she was of age. The king of Faeron sent Falisia to the Conclave in the hopes that the marriage between her and his financial advisor, Noma the Desert Spider, might not happen. It is his hope, and hers, that he might find a way to reverse the economic situation in his kingdom before Falisia returns or, at the very least, find a way to rid himself of Noman. Likewise, there's a hidden hope within Falisia that she might find an ally at the Conclave to help her somehow. As coddled from the situation as she is, Falisia is not certain what sort of help would be useful, but she has an inkling that she might not be returning home anytime soon if something is not done.

Seraphiel can look a little bit colorful to some. She sometimes seems extravagant or childish. She may one day have flowers and beads in her hair, and other days have leaves or what used to be a butterfly. Instead of choosing to dress extravagantly however, she wears more practical and simple outfits, that while attractive are usually minimalist and usually on the short side as to not get in her way. She is not one for large and wide gowns but instead simple beautiful dresses that lay comfortably on her body.
Her hair is lustrous and hangs to her hips, and instead of cut neatly, is layered at the bottom with a blunt bang and some shorter chest length layers of hair in the front. She has a perfect complexion with extremely fair skin and piercing golden eyes that seem to catch any source of light and glow sometimes. She has rather large eyes and long thick eyelashes that make her eyes one of her greatest features. She stands an average five foot six in height, and is slim and toned with only slight curves.

Seraphiel is what one might call a rebellious, non traditional princess. While she has the physical qualities as one, and carries herself beautifully it is as if her values were learned from some other place entirely. Ever since her youth, she has been a kind and empathetic princess, she always had a natural understanding for the feelings of others, even just by expressions and could manage to relate even to the most foreign of circumstances. She is extremely good natured and tends to invoke a kind of calmness among people around her.
However, she had always loathed the treatment that princesses receive, hating to be catered to and spoiled. Thus, she became someone that strived to do things for herself, get her hands dirty, and educate herself by whatever means effective. While she is sometimes not taken seriously, due to her natural demeanor and gender, it is learned that this is not how she is to be treated once given the opportunity to prove her worth.
Seraphiel has a tendency to be very sneaky, always managing to get away from her servants and sometimes her knights when she deems necessary. While she is aware of the dangers, she was also always aware of the restrictions put on her, and how little she would grow as a person should she always be told what to do. She is someone that has a hard time watching people suffer, and thus tries to understand the situations that people are in and how to possibly fix them from all different angles, regardless if not part of the norm.
This is one of the things that has been both valued and loathed by others. She is very intelligent or rather gifted, and with a quick wit she seems to be able to learn about and digest information, ending up with a different perspective then most. A rather deep thinker, she has a tendency to philosophize about issues even if her voice falls upon deaf ears.
Growing up, she learned the hard way that her kindness was cherished by her people, but not as a princess. However, she strongly believed in never conforming her beliefs, and while she learned to toughen up, which mainly was fueled by obsessive determination and a ridiculous amount of stubbornness which many hate about her; she never changed what she calls the core of her soul.
This did pose problems however, as someone that now fools or breaks the trust of this princess with the intention of causing harm can expect a sadist to take her spot.
Even among adversity, Seraphiel has such a stubborn strong will and amount of mental endurance that it almost rivals that part of mentality of a soldier. She is a fighter, and does not believe in conforming to others, not her father, nor her mother. She often will jump into conflicts and voice her opinion, even when her opinion is not desired or called for, she will voice her thoughts whenever she desires regardless of the consequences.
Like her younger brother, she was expected to marry someone of importance, and they would often find various potential suitors for her. However, she had disliked most of the suitors because of their terrible personalities and values, even more than that, they found that most of the time with only a few exceptions, she preferred the company of woman. When that came to light, they claimed they would force her to marry someone suitable which only made her resent them and she often claimed she would rather die then let that happen, as she wanted to find the right love herself.

Seraphiel was the first princess in her family, and second born child. While growing up she had two siblings, she was not overly close to either of her brothers. Growing up, a life of luxury and privilege was forced upon her, however repeatedly rejected which always caused controversy between her and her parents. Even when she was young and this was all she knew, she always liked to help out and do work on her own. Instead of having her servants do it for her, Seraphiel wanted to learn to do it herself, and help the servants. When the servants did a good job with anything, she often praised them, being scolded afterwards only to repeat the same actions.
Seraphiel was always a curious child, and even a curious adult. She had a thirst for learning and knowledge and understanding why and how everything and everybody worked. She would often wander about the castle observing other people do their jobs, or ask to be taken out to the townspeople; and when that didn't work she snuck out. In doing this she would learn about the low morale of many of her people, and the ill treatment they received. Always having a soft heart, there was something that clicked that day as she acknowledged that they in fact needed change, and they were not as successful as they had thought.
As she got older she had picked up many hobbies and specialties, she was a brilliant artist who could paint anything in front of her and even otherworldly things, she was a great designer, often creating pictures of things she found would be useful if built, she excelled in alchemy, and was also better with words and people than the average individual. It was soon found that the princess had a natural ability to bond and empathize with her people and situations. She was very sympathetic, and would often have a calming affect on those she came into contact with, and strangely was able to understand people even without words; enough to know the company she should and should not keep. This however was not a skill that was acknowledged by her father, but a weakness that he kept trying to change about her.
Soon Seraphiel became known as the rebellious princess or the black sheep. Her ideals were so different than her father's and her kingdom's, and she was often crossing the line and pushing her boundaries escaping the castle. She always took it upon herself to make her voice and opinion known and prove her point even when it wasn't her place, to jump in front of confrontations and situations that could and should have had her killed, and often questioned her parent's ways of doing things.
Soon she felt as though she needed to learn how to protect herself and her people, and unlike her brothers who had been given the opportunity to learn how to fight, she had not. Not being satisfied with this, she would often sneak out and search for ways to learn on her own, eventually, coming across her mentor Lucas. Lucas was a well traveled man that had been working forging armor and weaponry. Out of sheer curiosity was she able to find out of his past battles and adventures, and eventually the two formed a friendship and he taught her how not only to fight, but how to lead, survive, adapt, and even learn while in battle. He taught her in a way that was unique to her and her body and stature as opposed to teaching her a narrow minded way of fighting. Not too long after her swore his allegiance and loyalty to her and she took him in as her second knight.
Seraphiel unlike her siblings didn't really have any friends which were her own age. Believing that she needed to have a way not to just be defended, but to defend herself and her people, she learned how to wield and fight with a sword and consequently a bow. However, her mentor, which was not a night, but a well traveled townsperson who had seen many of his own battles, had told her the most suitable weapon for her was not the traditional sword but a two very light ones due to her natural agility. Determined to become affective, she learned and pieced together effective strategies from not only her mentor, but her father, travelers, adventurers, philosophers, and the few who pursued knowledge (which she then dissected, deeming good or bad moves and why). Because of this, she was able to then formulate her own strategies and opinions.
Stewardship: Seraphiel's teacher and her father were both extremely well versed in math and financials. However, because her father wanted her to be reigned in and mature enough before she was educated about such things, her best sources for learning were mostly unwilling to teach her. She however, believes math and financials to be extremely important not only in ruling effectively, but for battles and strategies. The most knowledge she has is mostly a little bit of mathematics at this point.

He is extremely protective of Seraphiel and is always trying to keep her in line, often scolding her for when she decides she wants to rebel. The two however are good friends, and Seraphiel enjoys his company.
Ser Lucas Almire: Lucas has been Seraphiel's mentor in swordsmanship and battle training. He is a diverse, well traveled, and intelligent man whose ways often differ than those of his people. Like Seraphiel he is stubborn and tactful, and unlike Ser Donivan, will often question authority and doesn't back down from anything even when told. He is a force to be reckoned with, with a style and way of fighting and training that is not yet understood by anyone but the two of them, and will take on any opponent. Like Donivan, he has seen many battles, with various kingdoms, all of which he wa a part of by his own will.
Lucas is also a blacksmith and an armorsmith. Seraphiel has a lot of affection towards him, and it would be foolish to say Lucas didn't have feelings for her. The two however have a kind of innocent relationship, that is not quite father daughter nor lovers but some kind of close friend or companion.
Josephine: Seraphiel's maid since birth, was only eight years older than herself. She was a quiet girl with a lack of self esteem that always seemed scared of her surroundings. Often times, she would mess up her duties and get intro trouble, and Seraphiel would take the blame instead. Eventually, Seraphiel's kindness proved to build up a confident, yet kind maid, whom she also taught to read, write, draw, and do simple mathematics. Josephine treats Seraphiel as someone she owes her life and happiness to, the two of them more like friends than anything. Josephine has been in love with the princess for some time now.

The two also sometimes share intellectual opinions on things, but most commonly they talk a lot about current trends and fashion; though she often teases him about his lack of ability to choose his attire for himself. She has a perfect complexion with extremely fair skin and piercing golden eyes that seem to catch any source of light and glow sometimes. She has rather large eyes and long thick eyelashes that make her eyes one of her greatest features. She stands an average five foot six in height, and is slim and toned with only slight curves.

This is one of the things that has been both valued and loathed by others. She is very intelligent or rather gifted, and with a quick wit she seems to be able to learn about and digest information, ending up with a different perspective then most. A rather deep thinker, she has a tendency to philosophize about issues even if her voice falls upon deaf ears.
Growing up, she learned the hard way that her kindness was cherished by her people, but not as a princess. However, she strongly believed in never conforming her beliefs, and while she learned to toughen up, which mainly was fueled by obsessive determination and a ridiculous amount of stubbornness which many hate about her; she never changed what she calls the core of her soul.

She often will jump into conflicts and voice her opinion, even when her opinion is not desired or called for, she will voice her thoughts whenever she desires regardless of the consequences.

However, she had disliked most of the suitors because of their terrible personalities and values, even more than that, they found that most of the time with only a few exceptions, she preferred the company of woman. When that came to light, they claimed they would force her to marry someone suitable which only made her resent them and she often claimed she would rather die then let that happen, as she wanted to find the right love herself.

Instead of having her servants do it for her, Seraphiel wanted to learn to do it herself, and help the servants. When the servants did a good job with anything, she often praised them, being scolded afterwards only to repeat the same actions.
Seraphiel was always a curious child, and even a curious adult. She had a thirst for learning and knowledge and understanding why and how everything and everybody worked. She would often wander about the castle observing other people do their jobs, or ask to be taken out to the townspeople; and when that didn't work she snuck out. In doing this she would learn about the low morale of many of her people, and the ill treatment they received. Always having a soft heart, there was something that clicked that day as she acknowledged that they in fact needed change, and they were not as successful as they had thought.
As she got older she had picked up many hobbies and specialties, she was a brilliant artist who could paint anything in front of her and even otherworldly things, she was a great designer, often creating pictures of things she found would be useful if built, she excelled in alchemy, and was also better with words and people than the average individual. It was soon found that the princess had a natural ability to bond and empathize with her people and situations. She was very sympathetic, and would often have a calming affect on those she came into contact with, and strangely was able to understand people even without words; enough to know the company she should and should not keep. This however was not a skill that was acknowledged by her father, but a weakness that he kept trying to change about her.

Ezran is no exception, and he carries a bastard sword a his hip. The blade is stained nearly white, the hilt wrapped in tight black leather with a round pommel at its base. Since the first of their name, Taake kings, queens, princes and princesses have all been figures of strength and terror. They suffered no cowards, no insults, no weakness, their house was stronger for it. A common tale among the Darkthrone people is that Taake infants are born silent, and nursed in the cold of their lofty keep.
Then came Ezran. Despite his father’s best efforts, he could do little to quell the rumors that spread within the confines of his court. In hush they’d say Ezran wailed so loudly at birth the queen’s ears bled. They’d say he could not bear the cold as the Taake’s did, and that when he crawled onto his father’s throne as a child, it had struck him ill out of spite.
Though little of this slander reaches the common folk, few among the Darkthrone nobility believe Ezran a capable ruler, now or ever. Some call him “Ezran the Coward”, others, “Ezran the Cursed”. Either way, the fact that King Taake has all but ceased attempting to silence such venom and the noblemen spreading it speaks, even in silence, to his stance on the matter.
Ezran did much of his growing up around his uncle, Yvoddan –or as he came to be known, “Vodd”–, a man Taake to the marrow. He found no warmth in Vodd, but a frigid care and protection. Alone Ezran would enter a room to narrowed eyes and sneers, but trailing his uncle’s thick coat, all eyes would be down, all expressions statuesque.
In addition to Vodd, the boy spent an equal amount of time in lessons with his father’s First Knight, Ser Mara. Warmer than Vodd, but tough enough to assert that she was his teacher before she was his friend, Ezran was always eager to train with her, to spend hours learning and hours later practicing. It was through her he gained his proficiency with a blade, and towards his departure for the academy, his first shred of self-confidence.
In the lulls between lessons and accompanying his uncle about his duties, Ezran spent much of his time holed away in his room, avoiding the harsh eyes that lurked throughout Darkthrone Keep.

Others leaned towards his lack of confidence, something he’d heard his father once call “a death wish for Taake’s.” Initially initial hurt, he agreed.
And yet, despite a sound case for departure, there was, concealed from him, darker stirrings. The king’s complacency for his son’s shortcomings was at first merely the topic of gossip, but as Ezran grew from a frightened child to a poor heir, this gossip, some say, began to blossom into a much more malicious form.
Perhaps safety played a role in this decision as well.
And yet, despite a sound case for departure, there was, concealed from him, darker stirrings. Yvoddan Taake: Ezran’s uncle, and without a doubt, the most feared man in Darkthrone Keep, if not the region as a whole. A warrior in his early years, now gray and boney yet no less intimidating, Vodd is a shrewd diplomat that has not ceased to leave dismay in his wake, despite having long since put away his violent past.
He stands at around five foot seven, with a face of sharp edges ending in a thick, tapering beard. Though age has turned once proud scars ugly, one feature that has not changed from his youth are his eyes. Violent emeralds deep enough to invite caution to those that meet them, yet sharp enough to stand out in a crowd. If Vodd turns his eyes upon someone, they are generally aware.
He travels as well with a relic of his past years, a flamberge nearly as old as himself, only in far better condition. Around Darkthrone keep, he'd often carry it in ceremony, and while some of the quietest whispers doubt his ability to wield it any longer, none have dared to question him openly.
Ser Mara: Not a royal, not even a noble, but King Taake’s First Knight nonetheless. At Ezran’s behest, Mara regaled the young prince with many a story of how she clawed her way to Darkthrone Keep. A fierce warrior, even now at fifty years, she insisted on accompanying Ezran to The Conclave. Allegedly Vodd had a hand in convincing the king in allowing this, but he allowed it all the same.
Not quite as tall as Vodd, but still an imposing woman of muscle beneath black plate and fur lining. Her armor includes a helmet, but she tends to forgo it outside of large-scale battle, preferring the allowance of vision. As far as armaments go, she carries a longsword at one hip, and a curved dagger at the other, her combative style generally utilizing both at once.
The sword, engraved as "Blind", is seldom drawn in public; the Taake Court has even adopted a saying for the white-steel blade. "Noble Mara draws it for two reasons, once to clean it, and again to bloody it."
