Or we could always come up with our own type of characters, you know, like how we're supposed to do in writing :D

Sorry, the Demon Hunter-Knight who's also unknowingly a Succubus Seductress and Sorcerer is taken :D

I used to have a character who's a Lost Traveling Far Eastern Samurai and Holy Man, and yes, he made it into a typical western fantasy RP. (He's something like an eastern spin on the Paladin, but his divine help comes in the form of blessed potions and talismans, though the usual route for that is also possible)

So yeah, the sky's the limit.

@Darkraven I was originally gonna go for a Tiefling Trickster, though I asked POO and demonic offspring didn't fit the lore. The cavalier didn't play out well, and as you will probably hear me say several times, humans are boring in high-fantasy D&D type stuff.

So I went for half-elf arcane rogue, something I've always wanted to do.

I was more puzzled than anything, wasn't trying to be malicious. Wasn't the emoticon clear enough? Or did I use the wrong one? I've just never heard of anything as limiting as what you're saying before, for pretty much my entire time in any writing-based activity.

In any case, yeah, you should probably leave this RP if your confidence is so easily shattered by a few honest words.

I was joking around! (please don't hate me) I know it's hard to tell with writing, but I'm sorry. But still, how boring your character is doesn't lie in what race they are.

Either way I wasn't trying to be hostile, and I don't think @Darkraven was either

Looking back, and I understand that. Text doesn't really come off that well with emotion. But I meant to say that comparatively, humans are boring from a physical standpoint. They can be very interesting characters, but I'm a human every day. In my mind at least, it'd be more fun to be something not exactly human.

Feel free to push An-Hasst around as needed in case I fail before the weekend, I've complete trust in you and don't want to break down the RP just because I'm currently broken down. My Skayleigh on a horse must look absolutely hilarious.

That's what I always used to say, I don't know why I've really shifted away from that mindset but there we are. I guess I found having to be a different race was more restricting, everybody expects a dwarf to be booze in one hand and axe in the other. Elves are always seen as roguish and off with the faeries and if you play anything other than those stereotypes with other less-fantasy-fluent people they tend to lose interest in your characters.

That indeed is a problem I'm often struggling with at character creation. However I often try to counteract this by going on and making the character I would like to play, even if it contradicts common expectations.

However... I'm probably not a good example for what to do best. I like playing beings who are.... semi-friendly undead, gargoyles, barbarians, rogues who give a damn about speed and agility (Assassin's Creed cliché *waves*) and rather work with elaborate traps and devices. Or in other words: It could have been far worse than with An-Hasst's sometimes a little loose mouth.

Honestly be what ya want. Humans are uncreative. Dwarves are alcoholic midgets. Elves are pointy-eared fucks. Dragonborns are abominations. Tieflings are dirty demon halflings. Halflings are the bastard children of humans and dwarves. Half-Elves are pointy-eared uncreative fucks. Orcs are savages. Skeletons are spooky. Yadda Yadda.

If you wanna be that Half-Orc rogue, do it?
Tiefling Paladin? Why not?
Halfling Bard? Sure!
Gnome Barbarian? Hell yeah!
Harpy Warrior? Do it!
