Cyber was finalizing the planes for the sonic weapon to be installed on the sky cruiser when she got a text message from Engineer in binary. Cyber responded in binary saying she be there shortly. She also sent her a copy of an update to the design schematics that would allow the Sky Cruiser to separate into multiple flying pods. Engineer also sent over the dossiers of the two newest recruits which she studied carefully.

After detaching from her computers she noticed Fenrir. She could see he was what she thought to be angry, so she left him be. She gave everyone a friendly wave as she left. Her study of psychology suggested that little things like that could go a long ways, so she just mimicked one she saw on some popular tv show given by some cheerleader who was obnoxiously friendly, overly bubbly, blonde bimbo, a description she heard from some guy who wore a lot of dark clothes and painted his nails black.

In the Sky Cruiser construction area she noticed the Flash had brought more than enough to finish the Sky Cruiser even after the reconfiguration, additional need for engines plus room for more occupants, plus sonic weaponry.

She didn't say a word to the Engineer as she entered, there was no need if they were flesh and blood it would be referred to as a psychic connection. They knew when was near down to the millimeter. Cyber turned into a mist of nanites once again and began working on the scrap metal, the Sky Cruiser, and it's as of yet uninstalled engine.

After a while the Sky Cruiser was finished it could detach into a pod for each individual occupant and each pod was capable of flight and had a sonic weapon. Each pod could reattach with a press of a button and the on board computer would take control and do it for them, mostly because she didn't trust them to be able to do it. When all pods were combined the sonic weapon of the lead pod would have the combined power of every pod, which is not recommended for use at full power. Cyber would later on find out about Ditto's screw up in the training simulation and program the Sky Cruiser's on board computer to prevent operation if Ditto was in the lead pod.

While making progress down the main hall of the HQ, following the racket she'd heard earlier, Naomi's footsteps suddenly came to a halt when said racket suddenly ceased. She'd been standing only a few feet away from the elevator before its doors opened to reveal a group of worn costumed teens. The nineteen year-old rolled her eyes and scoffed in disappointment. Just as expected, she was late to the party. By the looks of things, the group had gone through a rather intense training session,... one that didn't go all too well for them.

"So, this is the team eh?" the nineteen year-old thought to herself. With a slight turn of her head, she'd look over to the also present Dinah, or Black Canary as most called her. "Well, this is certainly a charming bunch, Auntie Dinah," she'd say with a smirk, a sarcastic undertone accompanying her words. Canary would return the smirk with a small chuckle. "Give it some time, Naomi. I'm sure you'll all be getting along just fine." Canary would then go on to introduce her recruit. "Everyone, this is Naomi Wright, codename Bast, originally mentored by Selina Kyle, whom you all may know as Catwoman. She's one of the newer additions to your team, along with Fenrir here." Dinah placed a firm pat on the werewolf's shoulder.

Naomi quirked a brow at the hulking half-beast. Dinah hadn't bothered once to mention him. It would have certainly been nice considering...

The teen felt a considerable increase in weight on her right side. Luna, now awake from her catnap, had apparently crept up behind Naomi and perched herself atop her owner's shoulder. Immediately, the feline directed its attention toward Fenrir, hissing as the hairs on her back stood straight up. Naomi was almost driven to let out a curse word, but instead kept it to herself. She tried to caress the top of the Luna's head in an attempt to soothe the distressed ball of fur's nerves. It was of no use. Luna was obviously on the defensive. Naomi would take a few steps back, directing her attention towards Fenrir as well, waiting to see how he'd react. The teen was without proper battle attire, but, if the massive canine came lunging at her pet, she'd have to defend herself the very best way she could.

Plastic Man looked slumped down and beaten as the group exited out of the training room. Anyone who wasn't already getting onto Ditto for his lack of English language knowledge, were secretly doing so like Luke was as he pulled up his shades. It was hectic, insane, and yet strangely they won in the end. Still all Luke could think was trying to find a good spa in the city, wrapping up with a Ben and Jerry's pint, and crying until the pain goes away. Still he gave Naomi a wave and tried to come off looking friendly to her when he saw her.

Then he saw Fenrir...

"AHH!" Luke immediately without thinking leaped up and grasped onto the side of Ditto's head. Clinching it tightly before Ditto had to pull and tug him off. "Sorry..." Luke awkwardly mumbled as he looked over again at the wolf monster thing. Seriously what the Hell kind of team is this becoming anyways? Demigods, androids, aliens, werewolves, Luke was frightened about the thought of who'd join next.

Veronica was still pretty tired after the ordeal, especially since after a victory like that one didn't leave her body crackling with electrical energy. She knew better than to let people she still did not yet trust see weakness. "Wet dog?"She said with a raised eyebrow and a weaker smile. She didn't really smell anything... Exiting the hallway, It was then the werewolf introduced himself as the newest member of their little association. "I'm Shock."She said bluntly to the towering mass and new girl after both intros were over. Veronica's clothes were barely covering her and her lovely curves broadcasted for the world to see. This wasn't anything that embarrassed the free bird but could be a offsetting meeting a new member. Shock didn't bother sticking around for banter and left the rest of the team to introduce themselves. She probably came off rude to not stick around for conversation but she didn't really care and was wiped from using that much power.

She continued on to her quarters and didn't even make it to the bed before just laying down on the hard carpet. It honestly felt like the comfiest place in the world now. She'd work on that sauce a little later...after she took a nice long nap...

Once Jin had finished off the camera upgrades, and gotten over her embarrassment over Gabe, she headed for the area where their team vehicle was being built. "Woooow." A smile lit her face as she started walking around the large cruiser. "Now this is a nice piece of machinery!" She resisted the urge to touch the shiny exterior, and extended a dose of her power to boost herself off the floor, hovering over the top of the cruiser upside down. "I like it! Cyber, this is some awesome work!" She might even ride in it when it was raining, or she didn't feel like taking her bike there. Her shoes hit the ground on the other side, and she nodded her approval. "Well done. You've got to let me look at the specs sometime."

Further noise down the hall caught her attention, and she wondered what she was missing. Heading that way, she saw the new girl from earlier, along with the rest of her teammates, and... "Holy hell." Her footsteps went into stealth mode, despite her knowing she was completely visible walking down the hall. There was a werewolf in their base. Judging by the varied reactions, some were scared, some were defensive. She figured she'd add one more to the mix, and as she stepped up closer to the wolfman, a little burst of her power sent her hovering into the air. She felt a bit better looking him in the eye.

"Hey. I'm Jin. You can call me Orbit. I give everyone nicknames, so..." She rubbed her chin as she gazed steadily at Fenrir, showing more curiousity than fear. "I think I'll call you Lupe."

Patriot was glad that they had been able to get some proper training done and show some teamwork in fighting the training bot. Of course they would have to try and get Plastic Man to act more like a team player and not a hotshot who doesn't think before he acts. But this training session did show that they were making progress in learning how to work as a team. This would mean that they would be more likely to be given missions by the League and then they could really show their mentors that they were ready to face powerful super villains.

After their training session was complete, Ditto asked them if they would smell wet dog. Patriot didn't understand the question, he had not smelled anything and wondered if the young hero was cracking a joke. But when he left the War Room, Thomas saw the wolfman like hero Fenrir and he was surprised by the appearance of beastly looking individual. Thomas guessed that he was a new recruit for their team and curious to get to know his new teammate. He was also curious to know if the hero's powers and appearance were scientific based or had a supernatural origin, it would be cool if the guy was an actual werewolf but he doubted that it was true.

"Hello, my name is Patriot, if you're here to join the team then it will be good having another powerhouse amongst us, it's help take down the heavy hitters among the super villain community" Thomas said to Fenrir shaking his hand and giving him a welcoming smile.

Phil was exhausted by the end of the War Room incident. Two hours of combat would do that to you. Although some of his teammates seemed to be upset with Ditto for his mistake, Phil didn't hold it against him. We did all make it out okay. Exept...Apollo. Phil frowned as he remembered the Grecian demigod being carried off. Well, maybe I'll hold it against him a little... His hearts in a good place, though. Phil removed his helmet, and his clothes returned to normal street-ware.

As they walked back from the battle, a terrible odar assalted Phil's nose. Ugh, what is that? it smells like.. "Smells like a wet dog." Ditto seemed to pull the words right out of Phil's mouth. Suddenly, a great hulk of fur and muscle appeared before the group. A wolfman? Phil thought. I wonder if his affliction is magical. That would be something Zatanna would know. I've only heard of vampires. Who knows, maybe Frankenstein's monster is real too. Everyone was introducing themselves to the Apparently, the wolfman's name was Fenrir, or Lupe to Orbit. The lupine newcomer seemed to overshadow the other addition to the team, a girl that goes by Bast. Phil desided to introduce himself to her.

"Hey, I'm Phil, um, Fate. I mean, my name is Phil but my codename is Fate." He had dropped the "doctor" because he felt unworthy of the title; he would have dropped "fate" too for the same reason, but superheroes can't go by "Phil".
"I like your name. Egyptian mythology is so interesting. Um, don't you think?" Phil you're such a dork. Like always. Look at her! She's a tough as nails bad ass and here you're blabbering on about your college major.

Days later, Star City...

It was late in the afternoon when the remains of the metahuman villain Shrapnel came back to life in the Star City branch of STAR Labs. He quickly used his power to turn everything metal into a part of himself and he grew from about as many parts as what comes in a couple MP3 players to that of almost an eight foot tall human, though with a jagged and rough form. The team of young heroes had been split into two groups, one group would deal with Shrapnel in Star City while the rest of the group visited Central City to see what's happened to the Flash. The lightning bolt like speedster was due at the team's underground HQ to finish up some work and deliver the last few bits and pieces of tech and he never showed. The Flash used to be known for being late, but it's been over a day now...

Patriot, Fenrir, Shock, Plastic Man, and Bast were on the outskirts of Star City battling Shrapnel about twenty meters from the entrance of STAR Labs. Wreckage was all around the parking lot with cars on fire and torn to shreds, Shrapnel making every piece of metal a part of himself as well as a sentient projectile. He was now standing over ten feet tall with more accumulated scrap. It seemed as if the group's been working on their teamwork since the first session in the War Room that left Apollo on the sidelines. Plastic Man again went at the legs of their enemy with his stretchy powers while the heavy hitters tried to beat the villain into submission and contain the battle ground to the parking lot. Shock and Bast seemed to be on crowd control.

"You punks don't know what you're getting yourselves intoooo!" the metahuman madman screamed as he blew himself apart to clear the area immediately around him, seconds later reforming himself into almost the same body shape as before.

Central City, many states away...

In Central City Orbit, Ditto, Frostburn, Hellfire, Fate, and Cyber Knight were dealing with the combined might of both Girder and Double Down. Girder was another seven foot tall metal beast of a man with incredible strength, however he doesn't have all the strange powers of Shrapnel. Double Down is a grotesque sight peeling off an infinite amount of playing cards cursed to be fused with his skin. The fleshy projectiles are razor sharp and have the appearance of playing card tattoo'ed flesh. Hellfire with his black flames and Frostburn with his ice powers made the first move on Girder coming at him from both sides. Double Down's 'cards' were mystical and enough to penetrate the magical protection fields of Fate, and the speed at which he threw them was enough to take even the split up Ditto by surprise.

"What have you done with the Flash, freakshow?!? We don't have time for this..." Ditto1 shouted grabbing DD from behind with his enhanced strength as Ditto2 grabbed an arm while Ditto3 came in close for a few punches before a hard stomp from Girder made the ground shake enough to take the young heroes off of their feet.

"You punks don't know what you're getting yourselves intoooo!" Screamed Shrapnel before he expanded explosively, directing his energy at Fenrir and his pack. The wolfman was confident in his ability to weather the storm of the malevolent, metal man's fury, but he wasn't so sure all his allies could. Perhaps he hadn't been present for all of the group's training exercises but he was part wolf, and in a wolf pack you had to look out for each other. He bounded quickly in Bast's direction, intending to take the brunt Shrapnel's attack for her. He did this without thinking. If he had spared a thought perhaps he wouldn't have been so quick to act, as Bast allowed her insolent cat to spit and hiss at Fenrir every time he passed, and this infuriated the wolfman. There would be a reckoning for that cat. Still, Bast was his pack and the defence of her was instinctive for him.

Several splinters of metal exploded into Fenrir's chest and belly, snatching a squeal of pain from the metahuman's lips. The blast was more powerful than he imagined it would have been, and more painful, even if his regenerative powers would heal the wounds in minutes. He was momentarily embarrassed at his weakness, but that embarrassment gave way to rage quickly. He was the alpha here, and he would not allow a glorified tin can to cow him in front of his pack. He dropped to all fours and with inhuman speedloped towards Shrapnel.

The metal man towered over Fenrir now but that was hardly going to slow the feral hero now that he was within a striking distance. Shrapnel had finally noticed him coming , but it was too late to do anything about it. Fenrir lunged at the villain, powerful back legs rocketing him towards Shrapnel's head. The metallic madman tried to get his arm up and get another blast off into the wolfs midsection but at this point Fenrir's forward momentum was too great to stop, so all Shrapnel managed to do was get his arm tangled up between the two as they both fell to the ground in a heap of flailing arms and legs.

Central City

Hellfire had charged Girder from his left, Frostburn from the right, only to get smacked away by the giant man before smashing into a parked, thankfully vacant car. Pain surged through his body, but not as much as it should have. Since his body was now superheated from the use of his powers, Hellfire had melted away some of the car, the now molten metal numbing some of what would have been excruciating pain.

"Ouch," he commented, rising up in the air and away from the melted car, before turning to Orbit. "Hey, Orb! You got your blade disks? I can coat them in my fire, then you do the rest. Got it?"

Orbit was adeptly deflecting shards of flying metal, and weaving out of the way of those odd playing cards. The toes of her boots skimmed the ground as she hovered around the battlefield. Hellfire's request hit her ears, and she burst off in his direction to aid him. "You okay, Hel'?" Hitting that car had to have hurt. She felt bad that she hadn't been quick enough to slow his impact.

She made an odd gesture with her gloves, which summoned her orbs to hang on place around her. A second gesture made the blades inside reveal themselves with an audible ring of metallic noise. Her eyes lit up silvery-white behind her goggles, as she summoned the orbs behind herself and toward Hellfire. "Make it quick, I've got you shielded." A shield of pure psychic force distorted the air around them, enough to keep them safe from Girder. She was hoping, however, that Double Down wouldn't pay her any attention. Those creepy cards of his had torn through Fate's barriers like they hadn't even been there, and she wasn't sure if her psychic shields would fare any better.

Hellfire aimed at Orbit's orbs, coating them in his black flames, superheating them, before yelling to Orbit, letting her know that she was good to shoot the ignited orbs at Girder. Ever since their... talk at home base a few days ago, the two friends had become a bit closer- a new layer of trust and understanding had surfaced, and their bond was now even stronger. And with that stronger bond, came stronger teamwork... If only that was the case for the entirety of the team. Shaking himself out of his thoughts, Hellfire watched as Orbit unleashed her projectiles onto their opponent.

As soon as she got the okay from Hellfire, Orbit unleashed a lot more of her power. The shield dropped away from in front of them, and the bladed orbs around her started picking up momentum in their spinning. She made a lunging motion with her whole body, and her weapons obeyed, flying off at 6 seperate arcs. They hit Girder from 6 seperate directions, all aimed for the metal villan's joints. Hopefully she could weaken the man enough for someone out to do real damage. Orbit grit her teeth slightly, as she felt power flowing out of her. She'd never had to fight so hard in Gotham. Usually there were more opponents, but at a lower level. Handling a group battle was like doing algebra problems for her- it barely required thinking. This, however, was something else altogether. It was complex, and didn't have one immediate answer. More like an experiment in physics.

She turned her head, very slightly, to check on Hellfire and make sure he was still standing as well. "We need something! Like... a supermagnet! Gotta restrain this sucker somehow!" She knew that they couldn't do what they'd done before and just punch the bad guy until he stopped moving. They had to get creative.

'A supermagnet? Good idea, but... Where would we get one? Could Cyber Knight make one? Is that even possible? Oh, what the hell, we'll figure something out,' thought Hellfire, before turning to check on how everyone else was going battling Double Down. Then an idea popped into his head. Hellfire remembered that Double Down's cards once pierced Superman's skin. Maybe, if they could get DD to fire in Girder's direction, they could weaken the metal man enough to allow for some time to find or assemble a supermagnet to hold him. Maybe.

"Hey, Fate! Ditto! Come over here, I have an idea! Stay on guard!" he called over to them. He then turned to Cyber Knight, Frostburn and Orbit, telling them to come a little closer, but keep their guard up, so he could tell them of his plan.

"...It might not work, but I think it's worth a try. Double Down's cards pierced Superman's skin, so they should be able to pierce and weaken Girder as well. Cyber, do you think you could work on the supermagnet Orbit was talking about with her? Ditto, Frostburn, Fate and I will distract DD, get him to fire at Girder. You guys up for it?"

Hellfire wasn't sure about his plan, and he sure wasn't certain about his ability to lead the team as his plan unfolded. He didn't think leading was his strong point, not by a long shot. But his plan... he thought that it just might work.

It was the next big mission and it's no surprise what Shock was up to. "Clear out, it isn't safe!", she yelled. Nobody paid her any mind though besides panicking and it was infuriating, especially since she had some close calls with the metals on this dude spiraling towards families. The mission had already started off obnoxiously. She made a point not to bring her metal rod but unfortunately forgot to get rid of her piercing. She learned the hard way no metals were safe. She massaged her gums with her tongue and still felt the iron taste in her mouth. "Perfect."

She'd magnetize the projectiles out of the way but she couldn't keep the metals under her control because of the amount she had to focus on for the civilians. It was like a violent tug of war every time he put himself back together that Shock gladly let go of. As she glanced behind her, she couldn't help but nod in awe of the teamwork skills the group had. Causing that big behemoth to trip was no small feat, and she'd be lying if she wasn't somewhat jealous of the heavy hitters on the team. Unfortunately, they didn't keep the guy down for long. The second time Shrapnel launched himself, their werewolf teammate played hero for Bast. Shock was farther away though and held out her hand and let out a garage-sized magnetic field after running towards a young boy in fetal position. The metals were caught in her web, and she retracted the field to make it fall safely around them. Since the training session, her abilities had upped a bit but much like a battery she could tell she was at half juice. "Th-thank you.", the boy said with tears in his eyes. She nodded and watched him run off and out of sight.

Turning around, she noticed Fenrir heading the offensive. Doing a quick double check to make sure the civilians in her sector were gone, she ran Patriots way to head the defense. Since Fenrir knocked some of the metal sprawling, Shock shot some energy toward it, and focused her grip. "Anything helps right?"She smirked. It was a big chunk of metal, and especially since she had already been using so much energy, beads of sweat formed on her forehead. Hands out, she kept feeding her energy into the piece and kept it near as the meta-human noticed pieces missing...

Cyber thought about the plan for a bit. "Won't work. Only source little ones in cars. Need bigger."

She calmly walked up to a damaged car and harvested what she needed, adding to her size. She then proceeded to go from damaged car to damaged car. One car she was about to absorb had a kid in the back seat and a female slumped over the steering wheel. "Kid inside. Mother dead?"

Once she calculated that she had enough mass and as the others referred to as super magnets in reality they were called Neodymium magnets. She could feel the magnets magnetizing her whole body. "Body magnetizing." She even harvested the nonmetallic parts of the cars to create a barrier on the back and sides of her body so she could focus the magnet's power.

Once her body was sufficiently magnetize she walked closer to the metallic villian Girder. Girder tried to keep away from the hulking Cyber Knight but the strength of her magnetized body would not allow him to escape. She grabbed hold of him, once she had a secure grip on him she began to envelop his entire body in her mass. Once she was through with Girder there was only a ball left.

Cyber stuck her head out from the side of the ball. "Girder trapped. Incapacitated. Double Down yours." She put her head back in the ball. She could feel Girder struggle with in the ball shaped prison that was Cyber. "Quite stubborn this one. Why won't he give up? Does he need to breathe? Too bad if he does." She thought as she put up with his struggles to get free.

Naomi barely flinched as the metal shards whizzed by her. Her main objective was to get a single six year-old girl to safety. In the midst of the chaos, the child had been separated from her mother, and she'd spent the last five minutes being carried around by a total stranger while the two searched frantically for her parent. "Carly? CARLY!?!?" a woman yelled. Hearing the cry, the little girl responded by yelling out. It was her mother.

Bast continued to follow the voice until she found a woman just around the next street corner, standing in the middle of a rushing crowd. She quickly approached and exchanged hands with the little one's parent, taking note of the tears welling up in the woman's eyes. "Oh, my baby! My baby. Thank you so much, Catwoman. You're not the villain that my niece in Gotham says you are, after all." Bast hanged her head. "Sure thing. Anytime." With that, the mother and daughter fled. Naomi couldn't necessarily say that she was surprised at the assumption, even though she was nowhere near Grandma Kyle's age nor skin tone, but, then again, that child's mother had probably never laid eyes on the infamous anti-heroine in her entire life.

Back on the scene of the battle, Bast skillfully dodged blast after blast that the super-villain threw at her. She'd spent the last couple of days and nights thoroughly going over villain dossiers. The digital library at the HQ was quite extensive, providing her all the info she'd ever need to plan ahead for missions. For example, for this mission in particular, Naomi had left behind her metal gauntlets and boots and instead replaced them with reinforced leather. She also called in a favor from Gotham and acquired a whip from Selina, which would prove quite effective for this battle.

Just as Bast began to close in on Shrapnel, he let off another blast. This one couldn't be evaded. She was in trouble. Luckily for her, she wasn't alone. The gigantic half-beast, Fenrir, had put himself in harm's way, taking all of the heat for Naomi. Wide-eyed, she placed a gentle hand against the were-'s back. "You alright?" she asked. Without saying a word, Fenrir charged forth. "Hm. Gotta love his enthusiasm."

Bast quickly matched Fenrir's speed, charging Shrapnel alongside him. She brought her whip forth and, when she was close enough, struck. The ten-foot villain had been in the middle of readying another blast when the leather slithered and coiled around his ankles, causing him to trip up and fall backwards. Her small part was done. She would whisper in Fenrir's ear before leaving his side. Like Selina, her voice was sultry, her words almost flirtatious. "He's all yours, wolfy. Tear him apart." Naomi's lips curved into a smirk as she fell back, letting Fenrir speed ahead. "Let's see how well he can defend himself on his back."

The blast that Shrapnel had caused when he self-detonated himself had sent Patriot flying for at least forty feet and crashing into the sides of several buildings. The explosion had packed quite a wallop and it had hurt. He pulled himself away from the crater he had made in the building, and flew back towards the metallic monstrosity. He had an idea and would test it out. He closed the distance between him and the villain, reaching out to grab Shrapnel. He grabbed onto the villain as he was distracted by Fenrir. He began to focus his energy manipulation to try and draw from the power of the villain and drain him of his energy. It was very slow but he felt the villain's power begin to seep out from his body as Patriot absorbed it. Shrapnel quickly realized what was going on and punched both Patriot and Fenrir with powerful blows and sent them flying off of him.

Patriot flew back for about several feet and tumbled to the ground. He got back as he could while dazed a bit, and went over to his team to tell him his plan.

"I have a plan, my energy manipulation powers can drain him of his energy, but it takes a while and I have to be holding onto him and have concentrate on doing draining the energy for it to work. You guys need to try and keep restrained while I try to drain his power" Thomas told his teammates. He hoped that plan would work and that the team would be okay with it. His plan would possibly guarantee of not having to beat the villain with the use of superior strength and possible excessive force.

"You mean that plan you just tried? The one that didn't succeed?" Bast sarcastically replied toward Patriot. "He doesn't have any energy to drain. I read up on his dossier. Our best line of defence is to hit him with everything we've got until we tire him out." Naomi turned to stand next to Patriot, facing both Shock and Fenrir.

"I'm just as fast as our werewolf friend here. I'll get Shrapnel's attention and get him running after me. I'll try to get him down again and, when I do, I need you all to hit this wanna-be Megatron with all you've got, alright?" She then turned to address Patriot. "I heard about you guys' very first mission as a team. This isn't Icicle. Don't be afraid to put a bit of a hurtin' on him, alright?" She then took off, throwing herself into Shrapnel's line of fire, waving her arms about. "Hey, tin can! Over here!"

"Puny little human!" Shrapnel began hurling pieces of himself toward the costumed heroine, aiming to eviscerate her. Bast managed to dodge every single bit of scrapmetal by performing a few quick movements, a simply turn to the right or left. She was hoping to intimidate him some. With Shrapnel's short temper, she managed to do so with ease. "GRAAAAAHHHH!!!!!" The hulking piece of metal came running straight toward Naomi, who then took off sprinting. "That's it. Follow the leader! Almost there!" Bast thought.

Shrapnel managed to follow her for the next two blocks, when they would arrive at what seemed to be like a dead end, the bricked side of a library. Shrapnel reached down at the ground for Bast, trying to scoop her up in his clutches and crush the very life out of her. She had other plan, though. Naomi scaled the bricked side of the building and performed a backwards somersault, vaulting just overhead of Shrapnel. She brought her whip forward and managed to wrap it around his neck. When she finally hit the ground, Shrapnel followed, tugged from behind. "NOW!!! Hit him hard!"

Bast didn't have to tell Fenrir twice, in fact he was moving before Shrapnel had even hit the ground, diving from his concealed spot atop the library roof with a melon sized rock in each taloned hand. It had been difficult to keep ahead of the vigilante and her metallic pursuer without being spotted, even more so to scale the library roof with two heavy rocks, but damn wasn't all that effort worth it now that the payoff was in sight. He'd aimed the drop near perfectly, his heavy form dropping down like an a-bomb, rocks held high to deliver maximum impact.

He landed before the villain had even got the chance to rise, clawed feet hitting the metal giant's chest. In the same flowing movement he crashed the two rocks down on Shrapnel's steel-like head, a satisfying gong reverberating around the street. The rocks had been reduced to splinters and powder with the force, and the metal metahuman was left with two deep dents, one revealing a hairline fracture, gracing the plate that made up his forehead. The wolfman leapt away before Shrapnel could retaliate, wary of the madman's tricks now. "Mangy mutt..." Shrapnel groaned groggily as he struggled to clear the spots from his eyes. In Fenrir's defence, Bast gave another tug of her whip. "That 'mangy mutt' is kicking your rear-end into the next dimension right now."

Fenrir had to admit that he liked the way that Bast thought. He much preferred hitting a foe until he could no longer stand than peaceably trying to drain him of his energy. That, and her apparent fearlessness in leading Shrapnel away, he was gaining a new respect for her. Perhaps he wouldn't eat her cat after all. . . Perhaps. The big meta crossed over to a nearby tree, about fifteen foot tall with foot wide diameter trunk, planted in the sidewalk. He was momentarily saddened by the scene, a tree that should have been growing strong in the forest forced to scratch out a life in a relatively lifeless city, even if it was one as foliage friendly as Star City. The emotion passed quickly however, he had a enemy to crush now, no time for sentimentality. He put both hands on the heavy trunk, and with no small amount of effort he pulled it from the ground, ready to use it to club Shrapnel into scrap metal the second he tried to get back off the ground.

Shock's immediate thought was who died and made this newbie leader, but leading the enemy away was pretty fearless of her so she decided not to roll her eyes. Though honestly, she was feeling bad that Patriot took the brunt of a lot of snarky comments these days. Didn't having super strength make a person popular? Guess it wasn't so for real life. She could see he was trying to live up to some superman standards though, rallying the team each time. "Alright lay off the dude..."She smiled at Pat. "We can try it your way though, Bast. Nothing to lose right?"Shock winked and then she sheepishly sighed after the battle cry was given. She wasn't exactly sure how this would go but whatever, it was worth a try. Thumbs up if it succeeded.

Running to keep up with the pair, the Beast (as Shock prefers to mention Fenrir in passing this story) tore into the villain. It was almost scary. Almost. "Guess it's my turn?"Shock smirked before putting out both her hands and hitting him with pure blue voltage of electricity. "I'm thinking you'll feel more than a little shock."She winked. As electricity surged through and eventually grounded, Shock wasn't exactly sure if she was doing as much damage as the fighters did. Beads of sweat started forming on her forehead again and she dropped to one knee to keep herself leveled. Before this she was already somewhat tired so she knew she couldn't keep this up for long. After a few of the blast, her powers started weakening out, and she dropped her arms while the metahuman groaned finally."It's all you guys..."She started. "...I think i need a nap." As Fenrir began to pick up the tree, Shock collapsed as her eyes and the scene started to fade to black...

Patriot was glad that Shock stuck up for him when Bast made her comment on his failed plan. he flew off after his teammates to get Shrapnel's attention, and he landed a powerful punch on the villain chest, making the metal monstrosity stumble back a few feet. The villain's extremely tough skin made it harder to do damage with his superhuman strength. When Shrapnel tried to whack him with his arm, Patriot quickly rose into the air above him and charged up a blast of energy. He fired the blast and hit the villain right after Shock had zapped Shrapnel with her electrical powers. The blast sent the mechanical monster stumbling back, and Patriot hoped that it had done some damage to the villain, but the amount of energy that he had used to create the blast made him feel heavier in the air and it felt more of a challenge to keep airborne.

He lowered himself back down onto the ground, and stood in front of Shrapnel. He was about to go on the attack again when he saw Shock collapse onto the ground. This worried Thomas and he quickly moved over to her to check and see if she was okay. "Shock, this isn't a good place to take a nap."

but it looked like she was on the verge of blacking out, and Patriot knew he had to move her to a more safe distance before Shrapnel tried to self-destruct again. He picked her up and flew her a good distance away from the battle, he hoped that she would be safe. He laid her down on the ground and turned to survey the battle and see if his teammates were able to handle the villain without him. He would wait and see what ether Shrapnel or his teammates would do next.

This guy sucks! Phil thought as he blasted another of Double Down's volleys out of the air. I wish I could just use a shield. Blasting these cards individually is time-consuming, exausting, and I'm not even getting all of them. There was blood dripping from several cuts on Phil's body, but the civilians around him were safe.

Phil heard Hellfire call his name, saying that they could try to use Double Down's attacks against Girder. However, Cyber Knight made this a moot point. Phil watched as she absorbed parts of the parked cars, then massed her gained weight on Girder. She completely ignored the mother and child trapped in one of the cars. She really doesn't have any empathy. She doesn't care about human life. Why is she even on a superhero team? After making sure the civilians in his area were clear, Phil rushed to help the two victims. Phil checked the woman's pulse; it was there--barely. Phil did his best to get them out of the combat and to help. They appeared to be some of the last civilians now. Time for business.

Plastic Man didn't need much time after wrapping around Shrapnel to realize what a God awful idea it was. Sure it worked with Doomsday, but Doomsday wasn't a guy who made wrapping around feel like getting stabbed by billions of different razor blades. Still he was able to hinder Shrapnel long enough to let the others wail on him like a giant metal punching bag. It was fun though to watch Bast step up, being natural in getting people to listen to her and help lead the beatings. Sure Patriot was clearly not happy about it, but Plastic Man still had to take credit that she was making a believer out of him. As Shrapnel was getting slowed down Plastic Man saw an idea formed to get rid of the Gillette shaver with legs. Pulling off of Shrapnel in a long body form that slithered down the street quickly. Plastic Man got up to a fire hydrent and formed a wrench with one of his arms to open the top of it.

Plastic Man wasn't particularly thirsty at the moment, but you wouldn't be able to tell as he wrapped his lips around the water spewing opening. His body downed the water furiously flowing into him. Causing his body to begin with swell up like a human hued balloon. Though as he grew all the razor sharp points on Shrapnel came back to haunt him. As his swelling body started to leak from all the tiny holes his body got. Quickly Plastic Man stretched his hands out to hold over his body to stop the leaking. As his body continued to grow he finally reached such massive sizes he was taller on his sides then the others standing upright. Rolling into position looking like a giant jiggly ball with a head sticking out. "Take a bath!" He called out through water stuffed cheeks awkwardly, "...bi-bitch!" With his massive hands he pressed down on himself. Unloading a giant high speed torrent of water at Shrapnel. It knocked him over with all the force. He struggled to get back upright but couldn't as Plastic Man's water flow didn't stop or slow down for a bit. All the while though Plastic Man only had one thought, did he just swear?! HAS HE EVER SWORN BEFORE?! Wow that was so cool!

Girder broke out of the nanite sphere prison crafted by Cyber Knight and went back on the offensive knocking Ditto2 into a wall. Frostburn saw a shot and took it freezing the enemy from the ground up immediately throwing the monstrous man into a panic as the dew from the ice would surely make his body rust. The young hero knew he had to pour it on. While Fate was having problems defending against the rogue known as Double Down, Hellfire, Ditto1 and 3, and Orbit seemed bound and determined to take him down.

Orbit's eyes flared up with brilliant light, as she signaled her orbs back onto her belt. She started to hover again, and the air distorted around her fists and feet.

"Hey, Poker Face!" a wily smirk showed her teeth, making her look animalistic, "Come get some!" She darted off the ground and aimed her fist at Double Down's face.

That was where she started, anyway, but mere seconds before her fist made contact, she twisted her body, bringing her knee up into a brutal chin strike. Usually, Orbit's hits carried all the force of an average featherweight athlete. But when she combined a hit and added her telekinetic power behind the blow, she could punch with the force of someone five times her size. With her also diverting her power to fly, it lessened the pure power of her punch.

"Got a few cards up your sleeve, eh? SO DO I!" Double Down screamed after taking a strong knee to the face as a couple dozen fleshy cards with razor sharp edges flew from his body and began whirling around all of his enemies including the multiple man, the boy with the dark flames, and the one called Fate.

Orbit dropped back to the ground, immediately pulling up a protective telekinetic bubble around herself, and moving backward while trying to locate Hellfire and Fate. That's when Computron made himself known. While the robotic girl was still pulling all of her nanites back into her humanoid form after trying to detain Girder, Computron took control of them with a wave of his holographic hand and molded her intro the giant energy conductor imprisoning the lightning like Flash.

[like the thing holding the Black Flash here...]

"I don't know who you second rate heroes think you are, but with the power this device is harnessing I'll control all of the technology around the world. The added nanites and tech from your android friend just sped up the process...!" Computron boasted, dissipating his 3D holographic body and becoming nothing more than a floating head once more.

Girder seemed to be contained with Frostburn's ice imprisonment, however Double Down was still holding the high card with most of the remaining heroes on the defensive inside the abandoned car part manufacturing factory that Computron was using to build his device.

"I want you to destroy the conductor with me inside!" Flash screamed but was unsure if he was being heard with all of the lightning cracking off around him in the prison crafted by Computron.

"WHAT?!? Flash how can we do that to you, why?!?" screamed Ditto3 once a wall was destroyed revealing the Flash's whereabouts.

"If Computron takes control of all of the tech in the United States alone he'll have access to nukes, the Hall of Justice in Metropolis has Thanagarian military defense systems and tech integrated in with the best stuff Batman''s got. Computron CAN'T have that much in his hands, it's like a video game to him. He doesn't care who lives or dies so long as that head of his survives and he's entertained..." the Flash pleads back as Double Down continued his grotesque assault on the heroes.
