she bared her teeth at first and calmed down after Saaba began to talk, ezy looked at Avir and questioned him "Are you mates?" she asked and looked to the cub and laid by her giving her a lick and nuzzles her. Ezy always had a soft spot for younger cubs, mostly because her brother was eaten by a male tiger who wanted to mate with her mother and she refeused so in the night the adult male killed her brother. she put a leg over the yung cub and growled at the adults "You two wont harm us right? at any time" she looked mainly at Avir not fully trusting him. her fur fluffed out and she licked the cub again

Kai

Nodding in response to Lila's command, Kai immediately took off through the trees towards the sound of Shadow's call, tilting his head back with a long, drawn out howl to let his sister know he was coming to aid her.

Shadow

Shadow sat at the edge of the mountainside staring up at the goats that stayed huddled together on the cliffs. Slowly, she got up from her haunches and began a steady advancement towards the little herd. Shadow didn't pick up any other scent, but could hear something coming up on her and turned to catch a glimpse of Tikaani. With a short huff of relief, Shadow smiled a bit towards her pack mate as she talked to her, responding softly, "Thanks, Tikaani. Every bit counts, right!" Turning back towards the prey who seemed to become more anxious with another wolf in their presence, Shadow continued, "Well, Kai should be on his way, so-" Before she could even finish, the poor devil being spoken of came bursting through the treeline behind them and slowed down, panting as quietly as he could possibly manage. Shadow gave him a look and simply nodded off towards the other side of the herd, and without hesitation, Kai ran off to start spreading out and attack from multiple sides. Just as they'd been taught years before by Desaius, himself. Shadow looked back at Tikaani and murmured, "Kai knows what to do. He'll take right flank, usually I'd go left but now that we've got you, this will be a piece of cake. Would you like left flank or come from behind? With three of us, they'll have no choice but to run towards one of us or down the cliff."

Aleu

Aleu nearly turned back when suddenly she saw a pure white wolf pop out of the brush, waving his tail back and forth in a friendly gesture. Aleu's fur stood on edge in that moment. Not in a bad way, though. Her tail began to wag when suddenly she saw the male leave and disappear out of sight. Aleu's tail dropped completely and she made a mental note to come back out here to find him. Kita's voice brought her back into the moment and she trotted a little to catch up with the two pups who'd gotten a few paces ahead of her. "We're going to have to. I'm sorry, girls. Maybe tomorrow we'll pick back up with the hunt, ourselves." Entering the clearing again, Aleu led the two girls back to the opening of the den, then turned to look out at the treeline to see if she could spot him again. The thought was intriguing but she knew all too well the casanova wouldn't dare enter further into the territory unless he wanted to challenge Reaver.

Desaius

None of the other wolves really made much of an impression on Desaius like his adopted mother and father, and this she-wolf who'd become quite the Beta. Everything about this fae reminded him of his adopted mother, the late Alpha Female of Vandrow. So wise, caring and understanding. Watchful and protective. It dawned on Desaius that it was probably the reason he adored the young fae so and came to have such respect for her. She always took the time to help him, if needed. Especially after Lani was taken from him. Desaius craned his neck and gently caressed his muzzle into Lila's neck fur as they walked, chuckling softly. "Well, you'd be the only one who'd miss this old dog. I'm glad at least someone will, though." In a round-about-way, Desaius saw Lila as a daughter. Closest thing he ever had to one since Lani couldn't have pups. Desaius had been almost afraid of pups, at one point, only due to not being sure how to handle them. Lila had been the one to help Desaius grow out of that fear, only with Lani's help, of course. "Thank you for looking after me. I know you got better things to do than look after a senile ol' wolf like me. What about the hunt? Wouldn't you care to join the twins?" Desaius never cared too much for Kai nor Shadow since they came of age, but could always remember them as pups and how rambunctious the duo were. Nothing changed, of course, they just put it to good use becoming hunters. He'd been the one to teach the two of them to hunt, and subconsciously he was a little more than proud of the huntsman and huntress they'd become.

Avir let Saaba do most of the talking as he idly looked around. It wasn't long until the older cub had turned her attention to him and asked the most obvious of questions. As much as he was expecting this, he just couldn't help but sigh. Being asked that right off the bat huh? "We're not mates. To be honest, we only met today. Although we are going to work together to take care of you both." He replied. He observed that this older cub seems to be quite attached to the younger cub that he had picked up earlier. "I grew up in the same circumstances, without a family, barely knew how to hunt. I would not like for other cubs to experience something like that. So no, we are not going to attack you."

Lila:

"I doubt I would be the only one Desaius," Lila said with a small smile and returned the affection. "And it don't mind spending some time with you and besides, I'm sure we can find something to hunt on the way back. And dealing with the twins one on one is one thing, together is another, they tend to bicker or Shadow gets distracted and wander off, generally why Chincf takes one and I take the other." After some walking, Lila stopped and put her nose to the ground, smelling something strange, unlike any animals she'd ever tracked. "Desaius, there's something here I don't recognize," She said.

Pups:

"Do you think one of the other hunters can help us learn too?" Anum asked, excited that they would try again the next day. Kita padded back into their den and sat down near the entrance. "When do you think the others will be back? I'm still hungry," Kita said

Axel:

Running to the other side of the lake where he had found a nice spot that was sheltered from the elements, Axel dropped the fat rabbit he'd found and caught and laid down to start eating. His thoughts kept drifting to the she-wolf he'd seen, deciding that he would return to that spot later to see if she would turn up again... Maybe alone.

It was starting to look like the cub wouldn't be getting her nap anytime soon, especially now that the older cub was giving her nuzzles and licks. Oh well, maybe later. Calypso gave the other cub some nuzzles in return then looked up to Avir and Saaba "So you're going to be our new mommy and daddy?" Calypso asked.

"I'll take behind." Tikaani nodded, hankering down to keep out of sight and watch the herd while the siblings got into place. She kept every muscle completely still and waited for Shadow or Kai to begin moving the herd closer. Then she could strike and maybe grab one if she could get close enough, or otherwise take off down the cliff in pursuit if the goats went that way.

"What?! Oh no, no we're not mates." She protested, crouching down to the cubs' height so she wouldn't intimidate them further. "We're just adults who happened to both find you at the same time." She nuzzled the top of Ezy's head gently. "But like Avir says, we'll look after you." The tigress promises, her tail twitching. "Nothing bad is going to happen to you if we can do anything about it. Now...what are your names?"

Desaius
Stopping suddenly, the old wold inhaled deeply and could smell it, too. Looking towards Lila, Desaius raised an eyebrow, "Let me take a wild guess. You want to go investigate this new scent, don't you?" Desaius already knew the answer, but he had to ask just for the hell of it. Looking in the direction the scent was coming from, Desaius narrowed his eyes slightly, feeling a little uneasy.

Aleu
Aleu looked down at the girls and half smiled, answering each of them. "Yes, they would do a much better job than me teaching you how. We just got our hunting lesson cut extremely short. The hunters should be back soon. I heard Shadow and Kai howl not too long ago. They're in the process of catching something. You'll be able to eat your fill, shortly."

Kai and Shadow
Both the wolves took their positions at opposing sides of the prey and stood mid-step, watching the herd of goats to try finding the one less likely to out run them. Kai spotted it before Shadow could, but eventually both landed eyes on an older goat in the midst of the herd that was just laying down on the rocks. Shadow looked towards Tikaani, nodding slowly as both wolves ^{(Shadow and Kai)} began to slowly creep towards the herd, closing as much distance before the herd realized the immediate danger they were in.

"Fine, we can talk to the tigers. For all the good it will do. We all know how this is gonna end up" Carek said to Chincf. He wanted to either drive the tigers out or continue to hunt, but at the moment, that wasn't his call to make.

The Traveler
=near the border= a loud pop is heard and green fire apears on the ground. A young man ,about the about the age of 12, rises out of the fire holding a glowing green crystal. The fire vanishes leaving no trace of its existence. The boy holds the crystal high and whispers the words "albe con wolf" and he becomes a pitch black wolf cub with bright green eyes

Treger the tiger

Treger woke up in his den and groaned "I'm so hungry I'm almost willing to cross the border to look for prey". He got up ,with his stomach grumbling, and headed to the river to get a drink. When he got there he noticed a long sleek fish at the bottom. Treger eyed the fish, it wasn't moving and he could probably catch it if he got in. He crouched down and dove in "gotcha!" He exclaimed. Treger quickly killed and ate the fish. He immediately felt guilty, all of his friends were starving. He decided to look about and try to find something for everyone else. ÷later that day÷ "I can't find anything!, matey there will be something at the border". Treger walked to the border. He could see wolf territory when he suddenly heard a loud pop. what in the world?he thought. Green fire spread out from the origin of the sound. A boy rose out of the flames with a crystal he then held u the crystal and murmured something incomprehensible. Suddenly in his place stood a midnight black wolf cub with green eyes that almost glowed. The cub then ran off deeper into wolf territory and disappeared into the brush. Treger had to know who that was. He cautiously crossed the border and followed the cub into the woods

"Mommy and daddy? Uh, how about caretakers?" Avir didn't like the fact that they were being treated as mates, seems Saaba feels the same way as well. They were simply doing this to take care of them after all. His conscience won't allow him to leave these cubs alone; he doesn't want them to experience the same thing he had when he lost his parents. Starving and stumbling and learning how to hunt by himself wasn't really the fondest memory he had. "Yeah, what are your names?"

The beta male nodded his head, stooping down momentarily to grasp the rabbits they had managed to catch. He trotted back to camp to drop off the prey first. It was a meagre catch-hardly enough to fill the belly of one wolf, let alone the entire pack-but prey was prey and it was better than going hungry.

Keeping pace with Carek, Chincf backtracked their steps to the point where the two wolves' scent trails crossed with that of the tigers. Following that trail further on, it led out towards the borders of the Vandrow's territory; near to the stream, where it mingled with the faintest smell of blood.
"They made a kill." Chincf growled softly, his hackles bristling. The tigers must be struggling for prey too, but right now the pack needed anything the wolves could catch and they couldn't afford to give up a single bird to thieving tigers. "We need to up the frequency of our patrols, make sure they don't cross over again."

Tikaani acknowledged Shadow's nod, following the other hunter's gaze to lock onto the intended target. The she-wolf sat and waited silently as her packmates advanced slowly, inch by inch, with the goats as they grazed along the cliffside. When the perfect opportunity presented itself, and Kai and Shadow were both positioned either side of the old goat, she pounced.

The herd scattered, bleating and bellowing out frantic alarm calls as the adults realised the danger right in their midst. Young were shielded from the predators by their parents as the prey animals leapt nimbly along the cliff ledges to escape the attack. Tikaani's focus was locked onto the old goat as she loped after it, snapping at its heels as she tried to drive it towards Shadow or Kai.

Lila:

"No... Actually I don't, it's making my fur stand on end. We should get back," Lila said, starting back for their home once again, urging Desaius to move just a bit faster since she didn't feel safe out here anymore. She didn't know what it was but it just screamed danger, even more so than the occasional trail of bear they would come across on hunts.

Pups:

This news excited both pups, Kita mainly happy that she would get to eat soon. While they waited for the hunters to return, Anum amused herself by running after leaves or bugs and pouncing on them. Kita plopped onto her side and watched, wondering how Anum could have so much energy.

"My name's Calypso," The youngest cub said, looking up at the adults who would now be caring for her. Even though the male said caretakers, Calypso's young mind had already decided that calling them her new parents was just simpler. Which must make the older cub her new sister now too. Well then, she had a big family now.

"More patrols. Alright. Perhaps I should find some of the others. Do you know where Tikaani and Shadow are?" Carek replied. He sniffed the air, trying to get a lock on their scents. No such luck.

Desaius
Desaius nodded but couldn't let it go, peering over his shoulder, he reluctantly followed the Beta female back towards the dens. His curiosity wanted to take over, but he had to listen to his Beta's orders. Desaius lowered his head and walked beside Lila when suddenly he heard Kai's distant howl, letting the pack know they were in pursuit of their prey. Smiling, he glanced over at Lila and mumbled, "That boy sure makes quick work of a hunt."

Shadow & Kai
As Tikanni went after the the old goat in question, both Shadow and Kai crouched and sprang after it as well, Kai letting out a long howl. Shadow realizes the goat getting much closer to her as it tries escaping Tikanni, snarling and snapping at the goat, forcing it the only way it can go. Down the cliff. Gritting her teeth, Shadow dives down the cliffs after it not particularly watching her step, eyes focused on the goats rear. Kai followed shortly behind Tikanni in pursuit.

Opal

Scrambling out of one of her more favored and hidden napping spots after hearing the howling in the distance, she realized the magnitude of the mistake she had made. She normally didn't do this, and she was furious with herself for letting it happen even once. She missed the morning gathering, she was missing the hunt, she failed her pack.

Desperately hoping she'd be able to redeem herself, she hurried away in the direction of the howls. Perhaps it wasn't too late to join the hunt. She ran as quickly as she could, though she was slowed down some by the hunger that nagged at her belly.

While she ran, she considered howling to the others, but something was stopping her. Little doubts and anxieties began trickling into her mind. They reminded her of the mistake she made, gave her doubts, confused her. She growled in frustration, shaking her head to try to clear her head. This always happened. This always made it so difficult to talk.

She just had to not think about it. For now.

She tilted her head toward the sky and let out a howl, calling to the others on the hunt. She announced her position with that, and let them know she was joining the hunt.

The beta male paused, his ears twitching as he picked up Opal's howl far off in the distance. A few seconds later, Tikaani's howl echoed in answer.
"I'm guessing, in the middle of a hunt." Chincf snorted with laughter. "We could go and join them, or alternatively we can wait until they come back." he offered, waiting to see what Carek would choose to do.

Tikaani's eyes widened as Shadow drove the goat down the cliff and jumped straight after it. "Shadow, wait don't-!" but it was too late and the black she-wolf had disappeared over the edge. Tikaani growled softly, pacing back and forth along the precipice. There was no telling how far of a drop it was.
She looked up, recognising Opal's howl and tilted her head back to give one in answer. Now Opal would know their position as well, maybe she could help them get eyes on Shadow. If Shadow was hurt they would have to go back for help...

Saaba
The tigress twitched her tail, nodding and touching her nose to Calypso's ear gently. "Calypso. Well, that's a lovely name." she looked towards Ezy expectantly, hoping the two adults hadn't made the older cub too nervous. "Yeah, I mean...we're not together or...or mates or anything." Saaba protested quickly in agreement with Avir. That was just...weird. They hardly knew each other.

"Let's go join them. I'm sure they could use our help" Carek replied, starting to run after them. He picked up their scent and began to follow it, hoping that Chincf was following close behind. Before long, he caught sight of Shadow in the distance.

Kai
Coming to a full stop at the edge of the cliff where his litter mate ran off the side of it in hot pursuit of their prey, grinding his teeth in frustration at her as he growls after her, "You're more important than the next meal, Shade! Don't kill yourself, yeah?" Panting heavily, Kai turns away from the cliff's edge and passes Tikanni as he begins a swift descent down along the side of the mountain, being careful of his steps but trying to cover much ground as possible. Hitting the next layer of ground, he could feel the soft dirt beneath his paws and grinned. Charging off after his sibling and the goat, Kai ran as fast as he could even though his lungs were practically on fire.

Shadow
Hearing the two voices calling behind her as she ran after the animal, she couldn't help but grin as she let out a long howl. Before too long, Shadow heard paws running across the rugged terrain behind her causing her to turn to find who had joined in. She could see Carek and up coming down closely after him was Kai, trailing just a few heads behind him. Turning back, only having looked a second to count the heads following behind her, Shadow realized how much she had gained on the goat. Keeping on its heels, Shadow opens her jaws with a vicious snarl as she lashes out in a sharp snap of her teeth. Clipping the goat in the back of its thigh meat, it squeals out in pain and kicks as it runs to attempt throwing Shadow off. One of the hooves catches Shadow's muzzle in the whole process, sending Shadow back a few steps with a high yelp. That made Shadow mad. Pushing herself as hard as she possibly could, she ran after the thing with a vengeance.

"Well then Calypso, nice to meet 'ya." Avir said. He then sat down, seeing as they might not even move for quite a while. Looking around, sniffing the air to see if there were any wolves in the immediate area, there were none. He looked curiously back at the border of the Vandrow Pack. Odd, their morning patrols seem to be running late. Or perhaps they had gone earlier this time? Hm... few wolves rarely change their schedule. Great, now he'll have to be extra careful when he thinks about getting prey from their part of the land.

"Hm... I find this highly amusing. Two rogues coming together to take care of cubs." The tiger said, shaking his head and practically shaking to hide his laughter. He just didn't think of the day. Once he calmed down, he asked the obvious question, "What now? Do we get out of here and hunt more food?"
