Tekkan winced slightly as he took 100 damage from Templar's battle against one of the Keepers.

"Urgh...Well, that sucks. I'll end my turn, then."

Keeper of the Shrine, huh...looks like he's playing Dragons, the youth thought. And big ones, too. Oh well, as long as I still have my trap active, he'll only be able to set his big monsters. He smirked, still confident that he could win so long as he had his Tyrant's Throes and something that was stronger than Drake's Defense Position monsters.

"My draw!' He took a card from the top of his took, looking at at it briefly and giving a smirk.

"First I'll play pot of greed! I'm sure you know what this does as it allows me to draw two cards!"

After proceeding to draw his next to cards, his last draw caused him to pause. He felt a strong, almost inspiring connection, for once giving a smirk.

"Next I'll play, Stamping Destruction!"

He would play the spell card onto the field. "With my keeper face-up as a dragon-type, I can destroy any spell/trap card on the field, and you take an additional 500 damage!" He would point towards the same color haired youth, "And I think I'll choose that annoying Trap Card!"

Tekkan's eyes went dead as a doornail as his strategy came crumbling down...quite literally, as his trap card was smashed under the foot of a large dragon, and he took 500 damage as a result. "Wha--! Argh!" The youth winced as the damage was dealt. Angry, he gritted his teeth.

D-Dammit...! Now he can summon monsters! Tekkan thought. Now MY monsters are sitting ducks! He braced himself for any incoming damage from the larger dragons Drake no doubt had in his hand.

"Watch closely now." He said to the spectators. "True skill isn't about how fast you can stop your opponent from dueling. It is about overcoming the odds and obstacles you face as a duelist."

He'd pick out one of the three cards remaining in his hand. "I will show you the true Tyrant here, I sacrifice my Keeper of the shrine, who counts as two tributes for dragon-types!" Keeper of the shrine would be sent to the graveyard, what replaced him was the card he continued to hold a second longer before playing on the field, almost in a dramatic and proud pose. "Tyrant Dragon! I summon you!" Tyrant Dragon would be played on the field in face up attack position. "With 2900 Atk, he can attack two of your monsters in one turn!" He would thrust his hand towards Tekkan as he entered the battlephase.

"Tyrant Dragon! Destroy Igknight Cavalry and Templar!"

The boy at their side seemed content watching, though was distracted by his own ruined guitar.

"Yep. Totes." he responded half hearted, forcing a grin. The boy clenched his fist, then sat back. "But uh. You don't have to mind me! It's your duel! I'll take on the winner, nonetheless." He answered, tapping his duel disk. The boy took out his deck and began shuffling through it, looking between his cards and those of the two duelists in front of him.

Matt was amused by the small reaper blocking the attack from the massively stronger monster and drew his next card, nodding as though he was unsurprised by it. "I'll summon another Sasuke Samurai #4 to the field." A replica of the small spear-wielding warrior appeared on the field next to his comrade. Now I'll enter the battle phase, Sasuke Samurai #4 #1 attack, I call heads!"[/color] Once again the simulated coin flew through the air and landed on heads, calling the for the death of spirit reapers, the first samurai's spear gleaming with murderous intent that shattered the reaper. "And Sasuke Samurai #4 #2 will attack directly." The second spear-wielder hurriedly made his way to his opponent stabbing him in the knee before retreating with a satisfied look about him, high-fiving his friend. "With one more set card it returns to you, any startling turnaround's planned? Oh and while your brick was aimed at me someone else took it away or else I would've sent it back to sender." Matt said calmly, with a hint of laughter.

With no cards that could stop the attack, Tekkan's two strongest monsters were destroyed, and he took 1100 damage total, gritting his teeth as it piled on. "D-Dammit! That just leaves Paladin on the field, then...!"

The white-haired youth had definitely underestimated his same-haired opponent, but he had a strategy in mind for next turn. He just had to wait for Drake to end his.

"I'm not finished either!" He declared as he played another spell card. "Wingbeat of Giant Dragon!"

"By returning my Tyrant Dragon to my hand, I can destroy all spell and trap cards on the field, including your field and pendulumn zones!"

Tyrant Dragon would let out a roar as it would fly into the air and dissipate into light, as Drake retrieved his card, leaving behind the destruction of the board.

With this play, the only card even on the field was his paladin, which left Drake vulnerable. However, he took the risk in hopes that would slow him down good enough for his next turn.

"Now, I end my turn."

Tekkan gritted his teeth and planted his feet firmly on the ground as Tyrant Dragon flapped its wings and flew back into Drake's hand, destroying all Spell Cards on the field in the process. "U-Urgh...! Th-That really smarts!"

He shook it off and drew his next card. When he found out what it was, his eyes widened. This was his last chance at making a comeback.

"Alright, my move! First, I activate the Spell Card Reinforcement of the Army! This allows me to add a Level 4 or lower Warrior monster from my deck to my hand! And I choose Igknight Squire!" The card, which depicted a yellow knight with a rather large but short-bladed gunblade, ejected from Tekkan's deck and into his hand.

"Next, I activate both it and Igknight Crusader in my Pendulum Zones, and Pendulum Summon back all the Igknight monsters in my extra deck!"

The aforementioned yellow knight and a blue knight with a long and slim sword and a helmet with a flat top materialized on the left and right sides of Tekkan's field, whistling out Margrave, Gallant, Cavalier, and Templar, all of whom took fighting poses alongside Paladin.

"But that's not all! By destroying Margrave, Paladin, and Templar, I can Special Summon my strongest monster: Igknight Noble Viscount!"

The three aforementioned Igknights leaped into the air and crossed blades with each other, destroying the lot of them and summoning out a stronger warrior with sleek jet black armor and dual blades which resembled shotguns.

"And with his effect, I can destroy an Igknight in one of my Pendulum Zones and Special Summon a Level 7 or higher Igknight Effect Monster from my deck! I'll destroy Squire to Special Summon Igknight Champion from my Deck!"

The new sleek black Igknight carefully aimed one of his shotguns at the yellow recruit, who closed his eyes and gave a salute before he was blasted, immediately being replaced by a larger, more neon yellow Igknight with a weapon resembling a rocket launcher lugged on his back.

"And now, I'll attack your life points directly! GOOOOOOOO!!!!"

Tekkan pointed his index finger at Drake as his knight squadron launched an all-out attack, sure to destroy him completely.

Drake held up his arm over his face as the attacks blew over him, instantly dropping his life points to zero. He had lost.

"Hmph.." He muttered as his holograms faded, and his duel disk was discarded. He'd sigh. "Well whatever, that means I don't have to waste my time with these fools anyway." He said as he leaned against a tree, crossing his arms once more and closing his eyes.

Tekkan had won. Normally, he would feel proud for overcoming a situation like that, but instead he felt...different. He ran over to the youth and placed an arm over his shoulder, concerned.

"Hey, are you alright? You don't have to take that so seriously, you know. It's just a game." He smiled as he tried to get a closer look at his face. "A really good game, but still just a game. My name's Tekkan, by the way. Katsuragi Tekkan." He held out a hand to the other white-haired boy. "What's yours?"

"Drake. And I'm aware, which is why I don't care." He said, arms still crossed and clearly not interested in conversation. "Go duel the next guy now."

It did hurt a bit of his pride that he lost, but he was lucky enough to get over that control his opponent played earlier. Aside from that, it spared him the trouble of continuously dueling these annoying kids. Now was a good time to relax and stop paying attention to this whole 'competition.'

The Spirit Reaper dutifully looked forward knowing it was the sole vanguard to protect the kingdom of the damned. Spirit Reaper was ready, Spirit Reaper was prepared. It gazed upon one bobble-headed spearmen, fully aware it was the one of the few things that could remove it from the field and stop its task. Fyodor Leo Konstantinovich peered from behind the helmet as he watched the man with the hat as the first of the two Sasuke Samurai designated with the number four, made its charge to the Spirit Reaper. The coin was flipped and it appeared that it landed in such a way that would cause Spirit Reaper to get destroyed.

In its last moments, Spirit Reaper clutched onto its scythe staring forth at its destroyer dead in the eyes, fully prepared to be sent to the Graveyard. The spear pierced true as Spirit Reaper exploded in a grey puff. The next move that was going to happen was obvious to Fyodor.

As the other Sasuke Samurai #4 was making its charge, Fyodor gracefully extended his arms out to both sides at shoulder length as he tilted his head to the right prepared for his crucifixion stabbing. But again, it appeared that some did not understand an important scene and instead of being stabbed in the chest he was stabbed at his right knee. His leg buckled down as he moved his arms back into a more natural position.

At 1700 Lifepoints it did not seem like the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell was in anything but a bad position. Beneath that black helmet there had to be an expression of some sort; but as per usual that expression was just between him and the Devil.

"Gwahah-" Fyodor began cackling as he arose to a fully upright position. "Gwahahahaha! Ahahaha! GWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Fyodor laughed as he leaned backwards.

"GWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! FOOLS! I need no turnabout! For I ALREADY WON!" He returned back to an upright position before leaning forward. He quickly pointed at Matt as he turned to look at Ayami. "Ever since that one entered play, I could not lose! GWAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHA! AND YOU DIDN'T SEE IT!"

Fyodor casually drew a card before he went about a more important action, theatrical pacing. He clasped his hands together in a mockery of a prayer, "Oh Infernal One, I give thanks that the conditions for my no loss situation occurred and allowed me to humbly serve you in spreading mayhem!

He stopped and turned on the heels of his feet to return to stare at them.

"Now the two of you can't possibly understand how my diabolic plan could cause me to achieve victory in either victory or defeat. So I shall explain to you simpletons! There was certainly an expression on The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell's face; but that was between him and the Devil. Although based on context clues, it might've been easier to guess than other expressions.

"This setting made it all too perfect. Satan blessed this gauntlet by making the conditions just right for me to spread mayhem. Because of the lack of intrusion penalty, it was far more likely that someone would interfere in a game. Perhaps a game which would involve me." Fyodor performed a flourish of the right hand as he continued on in his villainous monologue. "Now with that established, I'm sure you two can follow the details of my plan. All I had to do was get someone, anyone who felt "righteous" or "vindictive", The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell emphasized with air quotes, enough to join in arms with someone against me."

Konstantinovich returned back to pacing as he performed another flourish with his hand, "And as we all know, that has happened. Thanks to you..." The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell spun again on his heels and faced Matt directly, "I gained the position I sought from the very beginning, because from that point on there would be only two options! He raised up his right hand and stuck two fingers out, "The first result would be my victory. Through victory, I win."

He moved one of the fingers down.

"And the second result would be my defeat. BUT!..." Fyodor dramatically flung his right arm out to stare at the imaginary skull he had in it.

DRAMATIC PAUSE!

"IF I LOST, THE BATTLE WOULD STILL GO ON! AND IT WOULD BE BETWEEN THE TWO ALLIES WHO SOUGHT TO DEFEAT THE HUMBLE SERVANT OF LUCIFER! THOSE FORCES OF "RIGHTEOUSNESS" WOULD HAVE TO CANNIBALIZE EACH OTHER FOR MY AMUSEMENT! THROUGH LOSS I SPREAD AN EVEN GREATER MAYHEM! GWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Fyodor began slowly clapping. He went on for a rather extended period of time as he eyed between Matt and Ayami. "And besides winning in spreading mayhem in the INFERNAL ONE'S NAME, by making you allies face off against each other." The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell turned to face Matt. "You've even ran your mouth to disclose valuable pieces of information to me!"

The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell leaned back as he began maniacally cackling once again. Raising out his right arm, he performed a twirling flourish as he took his bow, and extended his left arm out.

"The battle was fought
Through trial and turmoil
The Heavenly Forces thought they won the spoils.
But little did they know
Of the Hellish plot in which they were caught.
Angels were now in the Underworldy Throes.
NOW LET THE CURTAINS FALL UPON THIS SCENE
AND MAY ALL OF MAN KNOW
THROUGH SUPERIOR PLOTTING HELL REIGNS SUPREME!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
"

Arising up from his bow he clapped, "I drew my card. The turn is over. Which one of you will fall... Ahahaha."

Ayami stared at the rider for the good few minutes that he went on raving to himself about his self-perceived victory. She rolled her eyes at his theatrics, and considering how a few people were beginning to look over at the duel now, the young woman thought it in her best interests to end this farce as soon as possible.

"Draw. Battle phase. Attack," she said curtly, watching as her opponent's Life Points dropped to zero. "In any case, I had things I wanted to be doing. I'll simply fold now so we can get on with other things. This works just as well, no?"

With as serious a face as she had sustained before, Ayami watched as her life points dropped to zero as she placed all the cards back in their rightful position in her deck. It was certainly... Anticlimactic, for sure, but it wasn't as if she had much of a stake in the game outside of having to deal with him.

"Sorry to cut the match short, Matt. If I didn't, I feel like our friend over there wouldn't stop spouting off for the next half an hour about it. In exchange, do you want to come along to the card store with me? I've been wanting to check it out for the last day or so, but I haven't gotten the chance to, yet," she offered, a small smile on her face as the Duel Disk seemingly disappeared into nothingness. "I wonder what else they'd have in stock, though... The school offers much of whatever else we'd want, I think..."

Matt laughed, both at their opponent's long-winded response and Ayami's decidedly short-winded reply to it. To be honest Matt had found himself preparing to duel with Ayami now, but it seemed she had other plants. "Heh, he is a bit long winded isn't he? I shall accept your offering and go pursuing with you." Matt said, his own duel disk shutting down after the cards were removed, turning into merely small piece of tech on his arm. "Do you have anything specific in mind to look for, or are we just window shopping? Either way I'm sure an academy like this has a more than well stocked card shop" Matt asked as he began walking with Ayami. "Oh, and it wasn't a half bad duel devil dude." Matt called over his shoulder, otherwise ignoring Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell, it seemed his help had been overkill in that duel by a bit, but that was alright, Ayami didn't seem to mind at all.

Rumi still a bit distracted by the fact she can't go and make her opponent some food due to the nature of the concept of last one standing heard someone approaching her and her opponent "hm? You new here too? you look pretty young for a place like this, not that I should talk I am in fact shorter than you" Rumi asked, giggling at her own little comment about her size "As for the duel... it was alright I wouldn't say the deck is perfect but it works well" Rumi commented scratching her head unsure "I only started playing a few months ago after all" Rumi explained that she was rather new to what she was doing

"young?"
He said, looking down at him a small, shrimpy and minuscule body that would easily explain the reasoning behind why he had been categorized as uncannily 'young' for this academy and it's general students. To him, it did not make sense. Perhaps most people inherently assumed he was the age he was based on him being at school at the senior level, but those were just his classmates. Perhaps up until now it just had not mattered what age he was and this was the first situation in a long time that caused him to think over this, yet still, he needed to respond.
"I'm Eighteen" He responded a disheartened by his new acquaintance's words, as they reminded him that he was the runt of his family and would forever go down as a pipsqueak in the eyes of others. Regardless he merely shook his head and smiled again, as if shaking out all of the feelings of scorn and sadness, leaving him nothing but pleasant thoughts. He went to work on returning the conversation back to her, as he was hoping to get some insight on who she was. Rather than awkwardly asking her about who she was, he decided it would be better to find out through context.

"Well for starting out, you are doing great! Your deck is structured, and the way you used your cards was like a pro. Even if you lost you showed you're not a bad Duelist. It looked like your deck was filled with sweets, I had never seen that before"

"I never said you were a kid! I just meant you looked young" Rumi said surprised to the surprise "I expected you to be my age honestly, I'm Rumi, The little baker from Europe" Rumi added a little twirl with her introduction striking a cute pose "So you're a year older than me, Not sure about my deck honestly, I'm nowhere close to being a pro by any means" Rumi added still dancing around and not acting her age despite revealing her actual age being 17 to the new person she met "So what is your name then...?" Rumi asked also turning back to her former opponent asking the same question

As Carnel scanned the surroundings for interesting Duels, a clapping sound caught his attention. Turning his head toward the direction of the sound, Carnel spotted a small kid running toward them, clapping enthusiastically. Carnel let Rumi interact with him first, silently wondering why there were so many people around that looked like little kids. He was sure he didn't enter an elementary school. Carnel then confirmed it when the two revealed their ages, though his next question was why they looked so small and young when they were meant to be older than their appearance suggested.

Responding to Rumi's question, Carnel answered, "My name is Carnel, and before you ask me about my age, I am 19 years old. Regardless, it is a pleasure to have Dueled with you, Rumi." Turning to the newcomer, Carnel asked, "Now then, what is your name, sir?"

He was surprised by how fast they went for his name. He knew their first names now, he supposed that that was kind of them, as generally Surnames were given first. He supposed that it was them trying to make friends, showing casual leniency towards one another so that they can become friends quicker rather than remain loose acquaintances for most of their lives. He would have loved to do this as well, except that for his family. He needed to remain businesslike, or else his family would look bad. Still, acting like some sort of salesman would make him come off as obtuse and rude. He decided to attempt to even things out. "I am Murasaki Lua, and it is really nice to meet both of you. You did really good out there Carnel, I bet if we ever dueled I'd get destroyed" He spoke, suddenly turning attention toward the newest entry into the conversation. He giggled slightly at the younger girl's little poses and dances. It was pretty new to him to see people act like this around him, and he liked it.
