Ignatius frowned as he examined the flying fish in his hand. It wriggled and snapped at whatever it could, quite clearly trying to take a bite out of his flesh. ”I don’t think we should try to eat these.” he said, reaching for the rock he had gathered earlier and tried to hit the flying fish over the head. He was somewhat disappointed- the other flying fish had been lovely to eat, these… he feared it might be eat or be eaten with them and he really didn’t want them in his belly.

He knocked the fish out as best he could- it still flopped feebly as if denying him even that chance of success at defeating it. Disgusted, he dropped the fish to the ground, turning towards his companion.

Studying Jasmine, Penny frowned. Something had happened to the girl, although how that was possible when she had been asleep against her… Dreams were nothing strange to Penny, but this seemed to be one impressive epiphany. She looked for any sign that Jasmine would be unable to do this, meeting the younger girls eyes before she nodded approvingly. She couldn’t doubt Jasmine- not without the girl doubting herself immensely.

As Jasmine spoke, she thought on her words. She watched Jasmine more than a little worriedly, even knowing the girl was steady. She didn’t want her to get hurt- if Penny could prevent any injury than she’d go home happy. While Penny didn’t follow everything Jasmine said, it was clear that a lot had happened in the girls life to lead her here. ”At least you have answers now.” Penny said softly.

"As for the doctor... we can check on her, but I think we need to do some checking around on th is fish while they aren't attacking. See if we can find their lair." She said, her gaze drifting around the town, ”And make sure that everyone stays inside. If you would like to stay Jaz, you can.” She wouldn’t force the girl to follow her- she wanted Jasmine to do what she wished to, and if she was more comfortable healing and defending, then that was okay.

Sasha had made her way to the front of the ship and looking out over the waves she watched as the island drew slowly closer. It was clear that something was going on on the island. As they drew closer, the magic that was all around them seemed to grow thicker, until Sasha was sure it should be visible, and yet it wasn’t. Smoke filled the air and every now and then, she was sure she could feel tremors running through the ship, causing the waves to rock. A feeling of uneasy settled in her stomach, and absent she lay a hand on her belly. As arms came around her, she turned toward in Lazarus’s arms, looking up at him before she rested against his chest laying her other hand over his heart.

”It’s going to be a rough battle.” she said softly, her voice full of emotion she’d rather not display- at least where everyone else was. ”We might not all come back from this.”

Lazarus gave her a smile- one that even now could set her heart racing- “I thought we’d already decided to have hope. As long as you and the baby are okay, that’s all that matters to me.”

Sasha sighed softly, bowing her head slightly and closing her eyes taking a few moments to simply gather her strength, her courage before nodding and turning to look back to the island, which was closer than it had been. Drawing a deep breath, she stepped back from Lazarus and to the railing once more. Laying her hands on it, she continued to watch the island draw closer until the crew was getting ready to dock. There was nowhere viable to do so, although the crew sought to get as close as possible it proved dangerous as rocks protruded from the water, jagged and broken. The island clearly wasn’t doing well, scarred and damaged from what she could see and it made her heart ache.

“You’ll have to use the ships boats from here.” The Captain said, looking over at the mages gathered on his deck.

Edarn/Karn

Ship To Tenrou Island

@Crimson Raven@Demon Shinobi@MarshiestMallow@CitrusArms

Edarn glanced at Jamie for a moment, her glowing ethereal eyes examining the Guildmaster for a moment before looking to Trinity as she approached. The Edolan didn't say anything as she glanced away, catching sight of Sasha for a brief moment. Causing her to close her eyes before retracting to remain inside of this body, forcing Karn to have to deal with being in control.

Just feeling more ill because of it, Karn groaned and whimpered as he waved his hand a little. "Ugh... I-I'll be okay...." the blonde murmured before blinking as he heard the Captain, he immiedietly started shaking at the thought of being that close to water.

"...aaaaaaaaAAAAHHH Eddy switch!" Karn cried loudly.

"No."
came the simple reply from within his mind.

Karn whimpered as he glomped and clung tightly to the closest thing near him, which was Trinity as he shook like a cat that just got scared shitless.

"Just fly over."

"But scary!" Karn whimpered.

There was a internal groan within his mind. "You do know we'll probably have to carry your friend there right?"

Prince

Ship to Tenrou Island

@CitrusArms

Prince gave a amused chuckle as the shapeshifter ended up clinging to Trinity. The tall catman giving a amused smirk as his cat eye glinted. "Well, seems like someone still hasn't fully gotten over his fear of water it seems. Perhaps you should try turning into a bird or a Pegasus and just fly over darling." the catman mused, watching his blonde friend shakingly cling to Trinity.

Amaya Vanisis And Cecilia

Location: Ship heading to Tenrou Island
With: Joshua Tamashii

@Joshua Tamashii@MarshiestMallow

Amaya managed to keep her stomach under control as She watched the both of her favorite traveling companions bicker about who will do what "Just keep the bags here….We should hit the island soon enough….I think I will be fine….if I just meditate…maybe…"She managed to say trying her best to handle the motion sickness as she was kind of glad she ate a very light breakfast of water and an apple…just a little something to try handling if this was to happen.

"It is not your job to help nor am I able to really carry anything heavy as she is about as heavy as I can go. Last time I carried any bag all the clothes dropped and I was flying." Bickered Cecilia Folding her small arms as she rested her tail in her lap when she readjusted herself on the barrel before she pulled out a deck of cards "I am going to keep occupied ."She added

On the duration of the trip, Amaya had closed her eyes using Joshua as a pillow to lean on as she allowed her mind to wander letting it slip into some memories, which helped quite a bit. Sure she felt sick but not as much as long as she keeps her mind focused on her memories until she could feel the strength of the tremors "I can feel them even more." She said Opening her eyes as she slowly stood up a bit shaky but managing to keep her balance and lunch. She allowed her senses to take over as she listened to the various conversations on the deck especially the Captain speaking of more boats. "oh dear god no more boats." She said

"I am sure I can carry you over the water." Said Cecilia "Sounds like we are close enough…"She added
"If you do stay with the boat… I don't want to be first on the island and get ambushed or something…not till I get over this STUPID motion sickness" She said emphasizing the stupid in anger as she hated this so much. She was so excited to come along but man not with this condition of a boat.
"Might be a bit hard as you aren't that heavy but I think I can do if I glide a bit longer." Said Cecilia finishing her 15th game of Solitaire.

Rose, Ryu, And Raiden Yashia

Location: Phoenix Wing Guild Bar
With: Elyse and Sam

@PandaBrady@MarshiestMallow

"Alrighty Girls Keep watching closely…See nothing in my hands or sleeves right?" asked Ryu Showing that his hands and sleeves were empty "Now watch this." He said cupping his hands together before opening them as two flowers grew from the palms of his hands from thin air.

"Kids tend to love that one Back from…Always made the girls love Ryu for his adorable flowers." Laughed Raiden
"Too bad He can't talk to a girl right to even shows he likes them…."Teased Rose as She joined Raiden in the laugh before she heard a unfamiliar voice ring out over the near vacant guild hall "Oh a new member?" She said to herself climbing over the bar before moving over to the one who announced himself as Percival Grungust.

"Hello There, I am Rose Yashia, Welcome to Phoenix wing…Right now I don't see much of an Issue but…Our Guild Masters and I think our other higher ups are out on missions or errands. So for the time being I am the one in charge of keeping this place in one piece. For the time being, you can look around and see if we are the best fit for you, we also have open rooms and food if you need that…"Said Rose greeting the newcomer holding out her left hand as her right brushed some of her bangs out of her blue eyes. "Also if you need anything at all or if you wish to know anything then do not be afraid to ask. We are always welcoming new members into our family." She added knowing once she got him settled she would need to contact Jamie and Jarvis to know what they wish. She didn't want to bother them if needed but since penny and the other S ranks weren't around. She would need to take care of the hall till then right? After all, She was also babysitting Sam as well.

Joshua smiled as he rested against the rails of the ship, listening to the sounds of the ocean and the chattering of the people around them as the ship sailed through the sea. As Amaya relaxed against him, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders to keep her close and steady, as the last thing they needed was for her to fall off the ship, though how that might happen was completely unknown to him.

After a rather lovely nap, Joshua's eyes snapped open as he felt magic in the area, rather heavy amounts. He quickly gained a focused and serious look, even if the banter between Cecilia and Amaya going on nearby. He gently placed a hand on Amaya's head and began patting her.
"I wouldn't worry about the boats as much as I would about whatever is on this island. The amount of magic in the air ain't natural, as far as I can tell. Which either means something or someone is waiting for us on it." He said, his tone serious but also calm as he glanced in the direction of the island. "Just promise me that if you do have Cecilia fly you over to the island that the two of you won't go too far ahead. I don't want you to get hurt."

Amelia Averyonna

@MarshiestMallow

Amelia had accepted the tour of the ship with her father, managing to enjoy herself as Jarvis led her around the ship. She asked a lot of questions, both towards her father and towards the captain and the crew when they were around and free. Once the tour was over though, she found somewhere comfortable to rest and fell asleep for the rest of the trip. As they approached the island, she would wake up and let out and impressive yawn as she stretched for a few seconds before getting to her feet. She then made her way up to the top deck, still rubbing her the remaining sleep from her eyes.
"What's going on? Did someone start fighting?" She asked, curious about all the magic in the air as the crystals on her wings began glowing a bit more brightly.

Elyse watched Ryu's magic trick with interest, the little girl's eyes wide as she paid close attention. When Ryu opened his hands and the flowers began growing, she let out a laugh and clapped her hands, amused by the sights. Once the flowers were done growing, she took one before dashing over to Rose, who was talking to the newcomer.
"Mommy, Mommy, wook! Unca Wyu made pwetty flower!" The little girl said showing her mother the flower Ryu had grown with his magic. She then noticed the stranger and quickly hid behind Rose, peaking out from around her mother before speaking far too loudly. "Mommy, who dis?"

Ariel and Ferrin

Flashback - A Pebble For Your Thoughts

The dreams. They were back again. Restless, eerie, nebulous dreams. Or perhaps it was one continuous dream. They formless and vague, as dreams are, cobbled together from memories and thoughts. They made little sense, and yet, in the moment, seemed wholly real. Ferrin saw the faces of his family, even though he had forgotten what they looked like. They were lit by a gentle, red flickering firelight. Were they smiling? He saw his guildmates, friends he had left behind. They seemed as if they wanted to tell him something, but the wind carries away their words.His mind turned to happy memories of laughter and cheer. He was looking on from the outside then he was in their midst, drinking and laughing under the festive, ruby light of the lamps. Then he was dancing upon a stage, with the love of his life. She laughed and twirled, wearing a dress that was like fire. He spun her and caught her in his arms. They smiled and bent in for a kiss.

Then the dream shifted.

What he held was a corpse, her eyes glazed over, crimson blood dripped from her open mouth. He pushed her away as he lept back with a cry, his legs splashed into knee deep blood. Her body fell back and sank beneath the blood,. He was back on the battlefield, fighting a pointless war. Bodies were everywhere, half sunk in the blood, faces upturned, hands reaching for the distant sullen red sky. His hands, his face, his body covered in sticky blood. He could taste it, he could feel it trickle down his back. The faces of the people he had killed flashed before him. Whispering, accusing.
I had to! I did what I had to do! He slowly sank into the murk, he struggled, but could not get out. This is a dream. He realized. Nothing more. Wake! Wake! The hellscape faded, but not before Ferrin glimpsed an eerie figure, it wore a white rob that was red with blood and in it’s hand it held with a long, thin, bright crystalline red sword. He heard laughing, mad, hysterical laughing. “Our Blood in on your hands, wizard!”

Ferrin woke. Just an opening of his eyes, nothing more. That damn dream again. It, or some version, had plagued him for several years now. Once awake, the details immediately began to fade, and it seemed almost silly. He had made his peace with the dead, so why did they keep haunting him? The dead ought to sleep forever. He groused. Not come and bother me while I’m sleeping. With a heavy sigh, he tossed off the blanket and sat up on the side of unfolding traveling bed. He knew from experience that after a dream like that, any chance of sleep was shot in the head and buried six feet under. He stood and stretched, joints popping and creaking. He put on a light shirt to go with the thin pants he was wearing already, and headed out on deck for some fresh air. Out there, he breathed deeply, reveling in the heady, salty night air. A few of the crew, unlucky enough to have night duties, greeted him on sight. He had been drinking and gambling with them a few times and they almost unanimously accepted the wizard as one of them.
The deck was mostly empty and covered in shadows, lit only by the dim light of several strategically placed lanterns.Ferrin strode to a spot out of the way of the crew and quickly cleared it of miscellaneous debris like rope and empty bottles. That done, he pulled his sword out of the air with a quick requip and took a two-handed stance, his metal hand over his normal hand. His breathing slow and easy, he went through a few basic forms, the easy rhythm and muscle memory drove the last vestiges of the disturbing dream out of his head and brought him fully awake. The gentle rocking of the ship and the wet wood beneath his feet made for treacherous footing, but Ferrin had been trained to fight on a ship before, so they did not concern him. Once warmed up and loose, he picked up the pace, through faster forms. Unconsciously, he slipped into the sword dance, saltatio armatum, a style that was all about the flash and show of fencing, full of acrobatics and spins, but not useful in battle. It was, however extremely impressive looking.. With it, unbidden, came memories of Ashelia, but he let them drift away. Thinking on her would defeat the purpose of why he was here.

Ariel had never done much sailing and while it was fun in the beginning the novelty wore off. Once you were far enough out there wasn’t that much to look at. Still the sea air was refreshing. There was still a peculiar sensation around though, even before nearing Tenroe. Turning in early one day she tried to sleep. Her mind wasn't letting her get rest though as it buzzed with various thoughts and emotions. After tossing and turning for several hours, more than you do normally on a ship, she woke up late feeling ill. It wasn’t sea sickness. Her head was killing her, felt like it was getting squeezed. Getting out of bed she made her way to the deck to get some fresh air. Topside she spotted Ferrin performing some kind of training. The motions on the man and the waves that she could now see weren’t helping. Taking a seat and resting her back against the side of the ship helped some and she opted to simply watch.

Ferrin noticed his new audience, but gave no sign of it. Instead, he went through several more forms, each harder and more impressive than the last to end to culinate in a finale of thrusts, swipes, twists, and spins. Then, he returned to the starting stance with a deep slow breath. He lowered his sword and turned to Ariel. “Are you enjoying the show?” He teased with a faint grin on his lips and in his voice.

Ariel would have rolled her eyes if she didn’t think it would make her head feel worse. Sighing slightly she shook her head slightly. “Sure. Helps take my mind off my throbbing headache.” She rubbed her temples before shutting here eyes trying to quell any amount of pain. Something was affecting her massively right now. It was a little like the disorienting sensation she would feel when changing magics, mostly because of the sudden mood swing, but amplified which didn’t make a whole lot of sense to her at the moment.

Ferrin dismissed his sword with a small wave of magic. “Sorry, but no encore tonight.” He said. “Perhaps another time.” He studied this girl before him. He wasn’t sure why, but she was vaguely familiar. But, with her tan skin and blue hair, she cut a very distinctive figure. He was sure he would remember meeting someone who looked like that.. “So, whom do I have the pleasure of entertaining on this fine night?” He asked.

Flinching slightly the deep blue of her appearance began to fade slightly. ”Uh, my name is Ariel.” In moving her hand away from her head she noticed her sleeve shifting color. ”Damn, what is it now?” Turning around she put her hands against the railing and lifted herself up. Her head was spinning as she suddenly felt a wave of emotions. Taken by surprise she froze for a moment trying to sort them all out.

She was looking a unsteady. Ferrin took several steps toward her. “Are you all right?” He asked, concern creeping into his voice. His sharp eyes noticed the subtle color change creeping across her sleeve, even in the uncertain light. He wasn’t sure what it signified, though.

Ever since getting onto the boat there had been a nagging magical presence that Ariel hadn’t been able to identify. As Farrin moved closer the magic influence grew stronger. Already having been drawing in some of the magic it transitioned to rapidly absorbing the surrounding Aether magic. The woman’s knees buckled as her ability began to try and incorporate the new magic. Internally her mind was screaming. All the fragments of her personality were being drawn together. Joy, fear, sadness, passion, and many other emotions welled up inside her all at once. None of them should have been all that surprising but it had been years since she'd had more than one so strongly at a time. Despite such an influx I the magic seemed to bind much more easily.

The color continued to fade on Ariel’s hair and clothing until everything became gray. The pattern shifted as well mimicking Ferrin’s unique attire. The hue of her eyes and the tips of her hair turned golden.

Ferrin watched this transformation with intense interest. He snapped his fingers as he made the connection. “Oh. So you are the one. The...chameleon. You absorb magic from wizards and are able to harness said magic.” He backed off a few paces, aware of the potency of his aura. “Yes, I have heard of your unique ability, now I have a name and a face to go with it.” He went on. He eyed her up and down, tapping his chin with a metal finger. “And it looks like you have taken on the form of my magic. Fascinating…I have never known another wizard, even mimics like yourself, that were able to handle it. ...well it remains to be seen if she can actually harness it.” He spoke quietly, half to himself. This was an interesting phenomenon, one he wanted to look into more. Also, his magic was extremely powerful and volatile. On top of that, it was exhausting, extended use would drain a wizard dry extremely quickly. It would be a danger to an inexperienced user and to those around them. He, himself, had blown up his fair share of buildings while he was learning, and nearly killed himself attempting spells too big for him.

Thinking back on it, it was a wonder that he had survived.

His next thought was how fragile this floating tub of wood, rope, and cloth was.

He spoke up, “Girl, Ariel, can you hear me? Do not attempt to use this new magic yet.” There was alarm in his voice. The color-changing girl was looking a bit unsteady, he wasn’t sure if she was even coherent. He also didn’t dare come closer until she calmed down.

“Ariel! Focus on my voice.” He called. “I also heard that your personality shifts with each magic you draw in. How are you feeling now?” He hoped that conversing with her would help steady the storm of emotions he could see in her eyes. He could only guess what personality she might end up with, and that made him cautious.

One might be surprised at how well he handled this unexpected event, but when one spends their life studying magic, he or she quickly learns to handle the unexpected.

The turmoil within her settled as the new magic seemed to find its place. For Ariel it was almost instant relief. It felt like a hole had been filled that had been lingering since she first acquired magic. Her expression reflected as much as she wiped a few beads of sweat and mist from her brow. Confusion settled in as she tried to process what had just happened. She felt, normal-ish. If nothing else there wasn’t any sense of an over exaggerated personality trait. Sitting on her legs staring blankly for several seconds it dawned on her that Ferrin was speaking. The first few instructions went over her head before she turned her attention to the man. ”I feel fine.” There was a pause as if she was waiting for something else to happen that never did. ”I feel normal. I don’t know how else to explain it. This is new.” She stood and glanced at her clothing which made it abundantly clear of its source.

Ferrin relaxed and his grin reappeared. “‘Normal’ is new?” He joked.

Hm, that response probably didn’t make that much sense. ”It is for me. Magic only ever seems to highlight some part of my personality. I haven’t really been myself for some time. What kind of magic do you have?” She was about to try using the magic but something she’d heard earlier told her better.

He chuckled. “That question doesn’t have a simple answer.” He grabbed a nearby barrel and brought it over to sit on. There was a moment of silence as he thought about what he was going to say. Oddly, he felt vaguely irritated that she had stolen his magic, but he pushed that aside as soon as he identified it. It wasn’t her fault, obviously, and she didn’t seem to have been intending to take it. Beyond that, he felt compelled to help this girl. He couldn’t for the life of him figure out why. “To start with, it’s name. Names are very important. Names define and limit, Names describe and allow us to cognise the nature of something.” He sounded like he was quoting. “This magic’s name is Aether magic. Which sounds redundant. The Magic of magics.” He held up his metal hand and concentrated. A gentle, silvery mist began to rise from his palm “This is more or less what the ‘pure’ form of Aether takes. As for what ‘kind of’ magic it is...I have no idea.” He closed his palm and the magic vanished. “I have, however, several warnings and a proposal. First off, purified Aether reacts with magics. A little flame can become a raging inferno, or a small breeze a typhoon. I think you can already see the issue. Thus, it is dangerous to use. Don’t try to until you have practiced control. Second, generating and refining aether takes exorbitant amounts of magical energy. If you are not careful, you could exhaust your origin, and I do not think I need to tell you what happens to a wizard who uses up all of their magic. Third, using aether will train your magical senses to become extremely sharp. It will be disorienting as your mind attempts to process this new, heightened sense. On top of that, being near large crowds of wizards or places with large amounts of magic will become deafening. Like standing in the middle of a music concert with a dozen different bands all playing as loud as they can. There are some other issues, but those are the main ones.” Ferrin sighed and rubbed his temples. “Some days, this magic feel more like a burden then a gift.” He looked Ariel directly in the eyes. “I would highly suggest discarding this magic and stay away from me so that you don’t pick it up again. However, if you want to continue being in my sterling company, He grinned as he said this. “And learn to wield this powerful magic, I am willing to train you. Make no mistake, you will need it. This is not a magic you will want to try learning on your own. The fact that you are even compatible with it is amazing enough. Already, I can feel it exuding from you. Of course, quid pro quo, I get something out of this too. I want to know more about your body.” He said this with a coquettish smile, aware of how it sounded and expecting a reaction. “Your ability to change with magic.” He clarified after an intentional pause. “Mimics like you are rare, and although I have met a few, none of them have personality changes or are as reactive to magics as yourself.” All pretenses of humour dropped, and suddenly, Ferrin was deeply serious. “What say you? Do we have a deal?”

Well that didn’t tell her a whole lot. At least as far as clarifying what kind of magic she’d just picked up anyhow. Of course the one thing that seemed to help her turns out to be just as nebulous as her own existing problem. Now from the sounds of it she had to worry about accidentally causing more trouble, as if that was anything new. Crossing her arms she didn’t seem too enthused with the options given. At least there was someone willing to help her figure out a new magic. That wasn’t always a luxury with how she picked up magic. ”Well, I don’t know how to just discard a magic. So that’s not really an option for me. But I can usually just use another magic to avoid one if I want to… eventually. I seem to need some time to adjust or something when getting a new magic.” Expression showing her frustration for a moment it lightened a bit. Not stuck with a single emotion was throwing her off. Taking the time to consider the offer it wasn’t like she had that much choice. Or at least not at the moment anyway. ”I would like to know more about how I acquire magic. I haven’t really had the chance to figure it out. It just happens and it makes living life really inconvenient. I assume you’ll have some questions to start.” Ferrin’s cut and dry way of talking with the occasional quip probably rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Though somehow it reminded Ariel of someone. She was rather quick to accept help from a total stranger. Could be the magic at work, wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened. But Ariel was fairly certain she could trust the man.

“I see.” He said. “So it would be a learning experience for us both. I have extensive magical knowledge, so I may be able to help you discover more about your ability. And other magics you may have as well.” He leaned back, balancing on the barrel. “Well, you have answered a few of the question I had already, and those answers are both curious and vexing. It seems we are much in the same boat,” He paused and looked around. “...figuratively that is, about the natures of our respective magics. Now, as for questions questions questions…” He rocked back and forth in thought. “The easiest first, when did you first begin to develop this chameleonic ability?”

Thinking back she wasn’t 100% sure on the exact day things changed. It was probably more gradual. ”I would say at least four years ago. My Water magic, the blue look you saw me with earlier, manifested around that time. I end up being sad with that magic which really sucks. Knowing that now it probably was a slow start over years before that. After that though, and as I gain access to more magic, it seems to come easier.” Shrugging slightly she noticed that one of the crew was staring as her. That was a somewhat normal reaction considering the rapid and drastic shift in her appearance. Narrowing her eyes managed to communicate that he should move on and she managed a small smile.

Four years? Ferrin looked her up and down. So far as he knew, Magic rarely manifested so late. She had to be in her late teens, he guessed. Could be a late bloomer, which is still unusual. Perhaps something had triggered it? No way of knowing. Unless… As odd as it sounds, he could talk to her parents. But that was a little too personal. He decided to let that thought be. “All right. Can you freely switch between magics, or do you require re-exposure? About how many do you know or have used? About how well can you use a new magic right off the bat?” He wanted an idea of her capabilities.

”Switching kind of depends. The more experienced I am with a magic the easier it is to force a change to it. Otherwise it usually depends on my mood. If I feel a particular way strongly enough then that magic surfaces. Overexposure can sometimes cause it too but I haven’t had that happen much.” Thinking on it a bit Ariel continued. ”If I expend all of one magic then I’ll switch as well. They’re all kind of their own thing somehow.” Damn, this was the most she’d talked to anyone about the state of her magic besides maybe Jamie, Nolan, or her folks. Or Tidius, but best not to bring up those memories. Most others didn’t care or it was over their heads and left the topic alone.

Caught lost in thought Ariel came back to the moment at hand. It was difficult to focus a bit being able to freely feel. ”Sorry. I can usually use a new magic on a basic level. Like with fire magic I could conjure fire and direct it at something, but nothing really advanced. That takes practice like you would expect. I haven’t been properly taught but maybe a handful of spells so most of what I do is simple. As for what magic I do have let me think. Water, fire, light, dark, charm, ice, dust, lightning, uh… siphoning strength, metal, earth, green, wind, spirit summoning sort of, barrier, ash, crystal, paint... “ Trailing off she hesitated to mention the other two. Her golden eyes watched Ferrin’s for a moment as if gauging whether to say them. Checking the deck no one else seemed to be around to hear.

He was an attentive listener, nodding and watching her intently as she spoke. It was easy to imagine he was memorising every word and every motion she made. Which might seem creepy, but it was a sign that he was well and truly interested. “That is an impressive array of magic, comparable to my own.” He complimented her. He tactly didn’t mention the trail off. He had a few tricks of his own that he would never want to make known, he was sure she was the same. He nodded once. “No more questions for now. Do you have some you want to ask me? You have been honest and forthright with me, so I shall reply in kind, answering any questions you may have. Or shall I start your first lesson in aether magic?”

Tilting her head a bit Ariel tried to think. What kind of questions could she ask? ”Well, I know your name but not that much else. Where are you from? You’re pretty new to Phoenix Wing right? So you had to have been doing something else before joining.”

Ferrin looked pained. “You had to go for the hard questions…?” He yawned it was getting early. He noted, it was far past late.He considered how to respond. “It’s a long story, and not one I’m too fond of telling. But, I did say I would answer. And I can’t fault someone for wanting to know more about me. Afterall,” He struck a pose. “I’m fascinating!” She didn’t look too convince. Ferrin laughed and dropped the pose. “I am just kidding, kid. I am not that wrapped up in myself. ...I haven’t answered your question yet, have I?” He sighed and his smile vanished.

“...”

“I am from a city that no longer exists, in a country that no longer exists. Before joining Phoenix Wing, I was in a guild that no longer exists.”
He shook his head. “There is a word for this. Ironic? Apt? Sad? Well, anyway. I did something stupid and now I cannot go back. I am here, however, to find a way back. Tenrou...well, it has ties to my past. I am not sure what I will find there, if anything at all. But,” He jumped to his feet. “History is happening here, can you feel it? The winds of change are blowing now. And there is no place I would rather be than in the midst of it, in the eye of the storm.” He fell silent, gasing into the distance.

There was a moment of silence. Then he turned to her and added, “Oh, and the world ending or some other catastrophe would be rather inconvenient, after all, all my stuff is here.”

A city, country, and guild that no longer exist. That was a rather confusing statement. Though to some extent Ariel’s origin wasn’t exactly that straightforward either. She did manage a smile from the last comment though. ”Well I guess I can understand a little bit. This is my home and everyone I know is here. But as I’ve come to understand I wasn’t born here in Earthland.”

“Not born here in Earthland?” Ferrin echoed thoughtfully. “What do you mean by that?”

Lowering her voice just a bit she stepped a bit closer so there was less chance to be heard. ”Well, besides this world there is apparently another reality they call Edolas. Some in the guild have been there but the way has been closed. But before them Fairy Tail traveled there. I don’t really know the details but somewhere in between my father teleported himself to Edolas, met my mother there where I was later born, and we all came back to Earthland together. I’m fairly certain that my magic has something to do with that whole thing.” She thought for a moment. ”You met the two Karn’s when we set off. One of them is from Edolas. I don’t think everyone does, but some people have counterparts in that world. I am probably an exception to that rule since I’m kind of from both.” She shrugged.

“Ah, I heard something like that from one Karn, although the other Karn made it difficult to learn anything more.” Ferrin put his hands up in an exaggerated shrug and shook his head. “Despite my vast knowledge, I know nothing conclusive about Edolas. Nothing but the ramblings of a madman describing fanciful dreams of flying cats, floating islands, and rivers in the sky. So, if you magic does indeed have something to do with this Edolas, I’m afraid I have no answers. Not that I couldn’t find find some...” Ferrin trailed off, looking pensive. He disliked not knowing things. He was going to have to dig up more information on Edolas after this. Something was nagging him, something at the back of his mind he could not place. This girl, something about her bothered him. Something in way she looked, the way she acted, her voice. Something was too familiar. But he could not, for the life of him, pin it down. It bothered him enough that he decided to try getting a second opinion.

Wake. He mentally commanded.

YES? Came the reply.

This girl. There is something about her. Ferrin brought up his memories and feelings from the last several minutes.

I see. Your instincts are on to something. I see a faint resemblance.

To?

You. It left.

“...hate it when it does that.” Ferrin muttered, forgetting himself for a moment. So she resembled him? Eh, maybe that was it. The girl reminded him of a younger version of himself, lost in a strange land and struggling with her own power, her own body. Keeping secrets from everyone around him.

He never did like mirrors.

Nodding a bit Ariel conceded. ”Couldn’t really expect anyone to know much about it. Not like it comes up in conversation much. Going back to your earlier question though, I suppose some training would be good. I would rather not be a hazard if we can help it.” Despite the fact that she was new to this magic, given having already been exposed to some pretty volatile magic before she felt reasonably confident she could keep it contained. Though she’d thought that before and been wrong.

Her voice brought Ferrin out of his reverie. “Okay.” He said, with another yawn. Weariness was beginning to drag at him like lead weights.. “I would normally give a lecture about the mysticism and lore behind the magic I hold, but it is far too late at night for that, and actually teaching you the necessary concepts would take months.”

”Okay…” The statement didn’t really give much to go off of so she left it at that.
“So, what I will be doing is giving you a few practical exercises to practice your control. Master these and eventually you will be ready for aether magic.” He reached into a pocket and pulled out a small object. He held it out in the palm of his metal hand. The object appeared to be a smooth, dark grey, spherical stone.

“That is a little toy I made, similar to one I used when I was learning magic. It is enchanted to move in the presence of magic, raise, lower, spin and so on. When I concentrate my magic on it: The pebble arupty shot into the air to hover at about eye level. “It defies gravity. Now, simply raising it is child’s play. The difficulty, and your exercise, comes in at keeping it steady. Observe as I loosen my control.” The pebble shot higher in the air, but then it began to fall, downard and toward the back of the ship. Ferrin raised his hand toward the falling pebble, and with impressive accuracy, caught the pebble mid fall. It dipped and came to a halt, floating a few feet above the deck. With a gesture, the pebble flew at him and he snached it out of the air. “As you saw, simply channeling magic into the rock will send it shooting upward and out of your control. So, your exercise it to not only keep the pebble steady, but also be able to control its movement. Like this.” Ferrin held out his hand, and once again the pebble rose. But this time, it started moving in gentle, smooth horizontal circles. “This ship is perfect, as not only do you have to fight the upward motion of the stone, but the forward motion of the boat.” Now the pebble moved in diagonal circles. “Control. An iron, unshakeable will over your magic and yourself. This is one of the most important aspects of aether magic.” The pebble spun faster, and rotated it’s spin on an axis. It wasn’t obvious, but the pebble itself was also spinning like a top. “This also carries over into other magics as well. Learning this lesson and honing your willpower will make you a better mage overall. With mastery, and a little bit of other applied magics, I can do things like this.” The pebble stopped and began to let off a light glow. It then began to move in precise motions, leaving behind a little trail of light, like a light pen. In hovering, silvery letters,and with quick flicks of his wrist, Ferrin spelled C-o-n-t-r-o-l, then A-r-i-e-l. The pebble then lost it’s glow and returned to hovering above his palm. “Catch.” He commanded. The pebble flew in a little arc at Ariel.

Holding out her hands the woman caught the pebble and examined it a moment. A little control would be nice, especially if it helped with other magic as well. Curious she tried to apply some magic to make it float. The regulation wasn’t all that good though and it went flying into the air. Scrambling after it she got hold of it again before it could fall off the ship. ”Maybe I should try this when there’s a roof over my head first.” This could take some time to get used to. Not just to a magic that was rather nebulous to begin with, but also to the fact that she was suddenly free to feel. She had kind of forgotten how that whole thing worked. Would it even stay that way? No way to know but to wait and see.

Ferrin chuckled at the predictable outcome of her first attempt. “That would be a good idea.” He said slowly. “Try not to lose it, but don’t worry if you do. I can make another. It’s not easy and it will take time, but I can do it.” He let out another huge yawn. “Well, this has been fun, but I am beat. I am going to go get some shut eye. Bene valeas et quiescas. Placideque quiescas. He said warmly, with a casual wave as he walked way. Back in his room his cheerful demeanor vanished. He sat on the edge of the little bed, his expression sad and lost in his thoughts. Eventually, he let out a sigh and lay back down. Sleep closed in. But this time, he did not dream.

Over the rest of the voyage to the Tenrue, Ariel continued to practice control of Aether magic. Given the brief amount of time she had with it she was where one might expect. Managing the magic was frustrating as the pebble would fly around the room erratically. Her body adjusted pretty quick though. Containing the magic seemed to come naturally. Still the hardest part was relearning managing her emotions. Being shattered and put back together left her personality somewhat in flux. Ariel wasn't entirely sure she could trust her feelings just yet. That said it was a relief that she'd found something of a solution, even if she couldn't explain why.

As they approached the island she joined them above desk to watch. The air being so thick with magic she couldn't identify. Her sensitivity to magic have gone up sharply, though it didn't seem to translate to her ability to absorb it luckily. That was already hassle enough. It mostly seemed to come in the form of being ably to sense magic around her. There was so much of it here she could swear she could see it rolling around them and the ship. "I'm not sure I like the feeling of this place." She muttered. No real turning back now. Hopefully they could get to the island in quick order and get everything back to the way they should be. But if rumor of dragons or the like were true that would likely be easier said than done. At least they had Dragon Slayers who had magic specifically for such a thing. Otherwise there was no telling how unprepared they might be.

Jasmine Lockwood

@MarshiestMallow

Giving Jasmine a choice in anything was, in general, a terrible idea. As Penny might now learn as the girl seemed torn between the two options. On one hand, she wanted to help the townsfolk. She wanted to ease their pain and nerves, even if just a little. They seemed so on edge, that even a small spark could set them off and who knew what these wounded, paranoid people could do or become. The potential of such an outcome frightened the girl, but then again what didn't?

Yet on the other, Jasmine wasn't entirely confident of not freaking out without Penny being here. The smell of blood was so strong, it was overpowering her nostrils. Like if someone had just shoved a stinky gym sock that had been left in a bag for several months in her nose. Her enhanced senses were going to take a while to get used to again, especially seeing as the more time that passed, and the more her body became readjusted to magic, the stronger her senses seemed to get. And then the fact that she was surrounded by extremely volatile people also put her on edge, and if she, a person meant to be helping them, freaked out then the entire town could erupt in chaos which Jasmine was certain she wouldn't be able to handle.

No. Staying behind without Penny would be a worse scenario. Jasmine couldn't guarantee she could control her magic at the moment anyway. Best to stay with the older girl, that way if her magic gets out of hand Penny can do something about it. Especially with her mind still a bit all over the shop.

"I'll go with you. If we can find the fish, then no one else will have to get hurt! Maybe we can even find a way to end this without bringing harm to the fish! Best to solve this peacefully than to have any unnecessary fights, right?" The blonde seemed quite eager as she spoke, nodding a couple of times to reinforce it to herself if nothing else. She might be naive in her thinking but without the full story or details, she didn't want to jump to the conclusion that they had to hurt the fish in any way. They might only be attacking because they were driven out of their home, because of a lack of food, etc.

That and in a fight there was a chance of both parties getting hurt. She certainly didn't want to get hurt, nor see Penny get hurt. She was certain the fish didn't want to get hurt either, so a peaceful option suited all parties involved! So until all options had been looked at, she didn't want to fight them in any capacity. She figured from what the vet had said, she doubted they would receive the same mercy from them if they came across them and in which case she figured she might have no choice but to fight. But until then, she would prefer peace over violence.

Though a question now burned strongly in her mind, and the more she thought about it the more maybe checking out the doctor seemed like a good idea. "But where do we even begin to look? They could be anywhere..." The vet hadn't given them much information, and he didn't seem to be in the mental state to be of much use. But then again, even if they healed the doctor there was no guarantee she would be in any state to talk to them anywhere. Even with healing magic, if you're recovering from wounds as severe as the man said then she would need rest.

"Cease and desist your useless, pitiful struggles and be eaten you damned heretics! I demand it!" As Ignatius turned to look towards his companion, he would see the young exceed chasing a handful of the poor creatures around. Even they wanted nothing to do with the devil incarnate. The little demon lunged forward and grabbed one by the tail, yelling truimpantly as she saved it about like a limp noodle.

"Hahaha! I have bested you, vermin! Now get in my belly!" Opening her tiny mouth wide, she now proceeded to try and eat the thing whole. Much to her companions horror no doubt, especially as it now seemed to be trying to eat her at the same time in a frantic last grasp attempt to escape.

Jarvis shook his head, moving over to Amelia as she came up on deck. ”No… We’ve just gone as far as we can on the ship. The destruction on the island is bad- and the Captain doesn’t want to risk hitting anything under the water.” Jarvis explained, studying her a moment as if trying to figure out if she was okay or not. ”How are you feeling?” he asked, concerned.

Sam watched Ryu with a rather serious expression as if trying to figure out how he was doing what he was doing. She did giggle as he made the flowers appear, leaning closer and turning her gaze around his hands, as if looking for the trick. ”Magic? Or trick?” she asked curiously, reaching out for one of the flowers before she hesitated, looking up at Ryu. ”Can I?” She turned at the sound of a new voice, hesitating before she squared her shoulders, bringing her little frame up to its full height, trying to go for an intimidating sight, but that just failed and looked adorable.

She marched over to Rose, reaching out to take her hand and giving the younger girl a smile, ”Its okay… we’re together.’

Waiting patiently as Jasmine made her decision, Penny kept her senses heightened, in case the flying, deadly fish would appear. It seemed likely that it would happen at any moment… she wouldn’t be taken by surprise. Patient as Jasmine went through the options, Penny tried not to let her thoughts drift into areas she didn’t want to think on then. Finally Jasmine seemed to came to a decision, which Penny was glad off. Penny nodded at her words, but she was sure they would have to result to killing the fish to get rid of them. ”We can try to solve this peacefully, yes.” she said, giving Jasmine what she hoped was a reassuring smile.

Falling silent, Penny frowned. Finding the fish could take a while… and she didn’t even know how to begin. It could take forever, if they just searched… Where were the fish coming from? Looking about, Penny crossed her arms over her chest. ”Give me a moment.” She said, and took to the skies. She rose high in the air, not worried about Jasmine. The girl was made from stronger stuff than even Jasmine herself knew. Scanning the area beneath her, she looked over the town, and around. Narrowing her eyes slightly she lingered on small moving flecks, and deciding that they might as well start there, she dropped back down to Jasmine.

”This way.”

Chuckling at Rajah's behaviour, Ignatius watched her, the small exceed was nothing less than fiesty. He wouldn't want to be on her bad side… It was best to just keep her fed and happy. Otherwise… he didn’t let himself think on what might happen. As she grabbed one of the fish, he raised a brow watching her toy with it, amused. As she tried to eat it, Igantius watched with horror for a moment before he leaped into action, ”Rajah!” he cried, wondering how he had gotten into this position of looking after her.

”I told you i’d get you food! Don’t be eating something that could eat you too!” He said, reaching for the flying fish.

Michael tugged on Gabriel's shirt, starting off towards where he saw Prince was, the tall catman easily recognisable by said height. It almost felt like he hadn't seen Prince in a long time, but he knew that that was foolish thinking. Approaching Prince, glancing about him to see what was going on, Michael up at Prince, "H-hey."

Trinity Stratos
Ship to Tenrou

"We're gonna have to go in boats?" They'd come to the deck just in find to catch important news. And Karn wasn't pleased, it was no surprise. She put her arms around him as he clung to her. "Oh, there there, sweety. It's alright. I've got you..."

He really was like a little kid... It was worrying sometimes. But, well... She just had to look out for him, then, right?

"You can fly us, can't you? I'll catch you if you fall. It's just a quick little skip over there, isn't it? I'll catch you. We've come this far, you shouldn't turn back now. Chin up, steel yourself. Can you do that for me?" Right now, watching out for Karn involved helping him with a certain soul problem. Her best lead was vague, sure, but it was better than nothing. If nothing else, maybe they'd get another lead. She could only hope.

But in the mean time, they had the last leg of a sea journey to make. Just a little farther, buddy.

Elena and Percival

In the Guild Hall

Percival was flustered, how could Elena do that to him, he thought angrily. He was sure that Elena had made a fool of him and began to turn to leave. He was surprised when a dark haired woman appeared before him and politely introduced herself and explained that the people he needs to talk to were away but that she was the caretaker, for the moment. He was surprised to find that the woman was a mother as well.
"Hi there little one, my name's Percival. You can call me Perry though." He said crouching down to meet the girl's gaze.
You know, short people don't like when tall people do that. I used to be short too. Elena's voice chimed inside of his head. He sighed audibly.
"So," he began, "I'd like to explain my predicament." he said to Rose.
"I've been traveling around, guildless, taking on random jobs from people that can't afford the guild's help. Sometimes I'd even fight dark wizards, but I haven't run into one in two years. Anyways, recently I've run into some money troubles and thought about planting my feet for once. Do you think I could take a look at the job board and get a job?" He paused for a moment.
"I've also heard that some guilds force their newcomers to take a test or do something to show off their abilities before joining. This could be an opportunity for that." He said hoping that it would be enough.

@MarshiestMallow

The blonde sighed visibly, out of sheer relief. It may just be a naive dream to think they could end this without fighting, but she didn't want to think that justified killing or fighting these creatures. Nothing really could to be perfectly honest. Smiling back at Penny, she began to fidget awkwardly. It would seem the matter of finding the fish was difficult, even to Penny. Considering they had very little information on the creatures, to begin with, it wasn't surprising. Really, all they knew was that they were flying fish with sharp teeth which attacked everything on sight. They barely even knew what they looked like, though imagination gave them a rough idea.

At Penny's words, she gave the older girl a confused look. What did she mean-

To say she was caught off-guard by Penny's sudden take-off was an understatement, letting out an over the top squeal as she felt the air brush past her. She had closed her eyes instinctively, and upon opening them she found Penny gone. It didn't take much to work out where she had gone, nor if one thought hard enough about it why she was gone. But thinking wasn't something Jasmine was capable of in her current state. She had frozen on the spot, not even breathing, from the fear that gripped her. She was alone. Various thoughts began swimming around in her mind, from minor things like strangers coming to talk to her to extremes like Penny having abandoned her, all sorts of ideas came and went.

But, almost as if like a switch, she seemed to snap right back to reality and shook her head. No, she wasn't alone. She never was. Ryujin was here with her, even if she didn't quite understand or remember how to talk to him just yet...he had mentioned something about her pendant. But she didn't quite understand what he had meant by that. How could she contact him through this small piece of jewelry? Gah, it hurt her head thinking about it so luckily Penny came back down so she didn't have to dwell on it for long.

"So you...found them then?" Though it was obvious, the younger girl couldn't help but ask the question. She could feel the butterfly's in her stomach, doing all sorts of party tricks and flips right about now. But there was no backing down now she supposed, and so she followed after the redhead.

Rajah

@MarshiestMallow

"Oi! Sir Ignatius, what do you think you're doing?! Get your own food you curr!" Not realizing the irony in her words, she tried to hold the fish away so that Iggy couldn't take it from her. She caught this fish fair and square, she wasn't going to let him stop her from partaking in its flesh. She had half a mind to smite him here and now!

"Noooo! Come back here and be eaten!" During the struggle, the fish managed to squirm free of her grip and took off like a bat out of hell. After giving a brief chase, Rajah dropped to her knees when it was out of sight and went dead silent.
"...Sir Ignatius, you have exactly three seconds to bring me something of substance worthy of a divine being such as myself or I'll fucking tear you apart and eat your guts for breakfast as punishment for letting that fucking fish get away."

Damian Gerard|Solving the Disappearances

Damian let Penny and Mayt leave, keeping anything else he had to say to himself. Penny’s reaction to what he said...it wasn’t his intention to upset her, but he also couldn’t abide by the notion that fear was ever a valid reason for anything. He stepped out shortly after they did and headed out to see the guilds off, the light of the sun shining over the group as they headed out of Magnolia. Godspeed to all of you and the best of luck. Once the last of the group had vanished from sight, Damian headed to his house, collecting Andor from the guild hall before doing so, and gathering some provisions for the trip. Oshibana Town’s mayor had contacted the guild shortly before, looking for one of it’s S-Class.

With a slight grimace, Damian had taken the call and apologized, promising to be there as soon as possible. As he stepped onto the train to Oshibana nearly an hour after he’d started getting ready, he pulled out the cell phone he’d bought and dialed the number he’d been given. It was picked up before the second ring had even finished. “Hello? Is this Phoenix Wing’s Damian Gerard?” Of course he’d know to ask that right away.

”That it is, Mister Mayor. I’ve just boarded the train and will be there by late afternoon. How many more since we last spoke?” That had, of course, been a couple of hours ago, but apparently the perpetrator had grown bolder.

“That’s the thing, Mister Gerard. Many of the girls and women have returned. The mages here say they’re almost completely drained of whatever natural magic they’ve stored, but they’re fine otherwise. We have them resting right now. Still, many did not yet return with the group…” Damian clicked his tongue in thoughtfulness. So then these women weren’t being held for ransom or some other reason similar to it, which only added a layer of confusion as to what he was doing to these women he was taking.

”I’ll speak with those who returned when I arrive, Mister Mayor. In the meantime, let them rest and get their magic returning.” There were a few more pleasantries exchanged before the Blade of Phoenix Wing hung the fancy, lacrima powered contraption up and relaxed. He really hoped that this wasn’t going to be as complicated a job as he thought it was, but the low magic with each girl…Something about this is...wrong. I’m not sure what it is, but… As the train left the station, it’s loud call echoing through the open air, Damian sat back and waited. He could theorize and guess all he wanted, but without getting to see what precisely it was that was happening, it would do him no amount of good.

Amaya Vanisis And Cecilia

Location: Ship heading to Tenrou Island
With: Joshua Tamashii

@Joshua Tamashii@MarshiestMallow

Amaya straightened herself up the best she could while Cecilia jumped from the barrel to Amaya's shoulders "I really don't want to fight and kinda useless in ways I still trying to get over. We will stay near the boats or a little ahead. To be honest, the dragon side of me is excited and curious...the rest of me is so worried that my nausea is like a tiny little speck on my soul compared to my worried."She said before Cecilia casted Aera lifting them both a bit off the deck but still hovered. it took a few seconds before Amaya sighed a sigh of relief "my nausea is gone now."she said happily

"thank god it finally is so I guess it is true once your not on a mechanical moving vechile you are fine.'Said Cecilia

"Seem so...just it is hard to do it on my own...I wonder how the boys are doing...if they felt it too..after all they don't have a exceed only me and Nolan do."Said Amaya folding her arms In front of her cheast "Joshua, you better get to this boats before they take off without you..."Said Amaya

"If they do I might have to carry both of you...if he is as light as you are should be a issue." Said Cecilla
"I am pretty sure he is heavier then me, if he was lighter then me I would be so sad for being so fat." Said Amaya shaking the depressing thought away, "no time to think of sad...Aurora might be on that island...I have to think positive...I have to be hopeful." Said Amaya

"And if she isn't?" asked Cecilia

"If she isn't will be saddening but that still means I can still possibly find her somewhere else...there isn't that many places a Ice dragon like her can hide...I will find out one way or another." Said Amaya filling herself with determination. She looked around before looking towards where Sasha was."I'm going to check something."She said having Cecila floated over to where Sasha and Lazarus was "Mind If we scout a bit ahead...see if anything is waiting on or near that beach?"Asked Amaya wanting to make sure she had permission but wandering off into possible trouble "If you want I could drag Joshua along for extra security." She added figuring since this was something Sasha was more or less the export on, it would only be right to ask her right? that was Amaya's Logic

Rose, Ryu, And Raiden Yashia

Location: Phoenix Wing Guild Bar
With: Elyse and Sam

@PandaBrady@MarshiestMallow

"it is both actually." He said with a laugh before he noded to Sam's question"I made them for both you and Elyse, it is yours to keep." He replied with a smile soon seeing Sam and Elyse run towards Rose and the Newcomer as he relaxed back at the bar with his father watching the sight.

Rose turned half way towards Elyse seeing her run with one of the flowers Ryu made. She smiled enjoying to see Elyse happy before seeing the usual shy Elyse hide behind her once she noticed Perry. She was about to introduce him but he beat her to the cake "He wishes to Join our guild...to be part of our phoenix wing family." She added gently to Elyse before looking back at Perry. "Normally, only the darker guilds have their members fight to prove themselves worthy to be in the guild, now there are some light guilds that do that to...But Phoneix wing is not one of those. We are always accepting members. You can sleep here for a small fee and take jobs as well. Hopefully the rest of the guild will be back in a week or two tops. I am taking a job with the two guys over there and one other when he gets here bringing the two girls here along... this is Elyse Yashika, my daughter and that is Sam, the guild Masters Daughter."Said Rose introducing the girls

Edarn/Karn

Ship To Tenrou Island

@Crimson Raven@Demon Shinobi@MarshiestMallow@CitrusArms

Karn gulped a little, listening to Trinity's comforting words before taking deep breaths as he tried to calm down from his panic attack. He could hear Edarn giving a sigh within his mind but he paid it no mind. Slowly nodding, he tried to focus long enough so he could properly transform. Pulling away from Trinity, the blonde transformed into a beautifully snow white Pegasus.

"What about your other friend?" Edarn's voice spoke within his head.

Pausing, Karn thought for a moment before looking to Trinity. "Mithy's here too... should we bring her? She looked tired though." he said, giving a soft neigh as he thoughtfully wondered if he should go and try wake her up or not, or let her rest on the boat.

Prince

Ship to Tenrou Island

@CitrusArms@MarshiestMallow

Watching Trinity and Karn, Prince gave a soft whistle and a cheeky grin towards their direction. Although he didn't get to tease the cute duo before his ears perked as he heard Michael's quiet voice speak up. Turning his head, Prince gave a bright smile as he saw his teammate. Giving a loud purr and promptly glomping the shorter male, purring and nuzzling his cheek against the top of the blue hair.

"Mikey! It's good to see you! Did you and your bro have a good conversation?" Prince chirped curiously, his one teal eye looking at Michael with interest. He knew that Michael would probably take this chance to speak to his brother since it had probably been a little while now. Though, that didn't stop Prince from being happy at the fact the cute boy would come up to him. Usually, Prince was the one that stalked and pounced on Michael. So this was a lovely change of pace.

Penny nodded, studying Jasmine a moment or two, ”Its okay to be afraid, Jasmine.” she said softly, ”Its when you let that fear control you, that’s when it becomes a problem. I have lived in fear, most of my life before I found my magic was lived in fear” she seemed to trail off a moment, frowning slightly. Curse him. Why had he put those thoughts in her head? She wasn’t afraid. Not for herself, at least. For those around her. Killing Solias… it had show her just how deadly she could be. She wasn’t afraid… going to that island would be a mistake, she knew it. She certainly didn’t like doubting herself. Everything she had done… it still stuck with her and she didn’t know how to deal with it, even now. The thought of going to that island… it wasn’t something she believed she was capable off.

She could be more help here, dealing with the flying fish, then on the island where she’d be a risk to everyone around her. At least here she was of some use to the guild. She sighed softly, ”Jasmine… you are here and that’s a big step. And I’ll be by your side, every step of the way, okay? You won’t be alone.” She gave the girl a reassuring smile, before nodding in the direction that they needed to go. ”Come on.” she said, offering her hand to the girl, before she started off in the direction she had seen the flying fish.

It didn’t take long to find them, a short walk out of the town. She could see them from a far distance, flying specks that dotted the horizon. ”See? just there” She said, pointing them out.

”This is food that can eat you, Rajah! Gods, they’re almost as big as you!” Ignatius said, turning to his pack and rustling through it. ”It isn’t edible! The skin is too tough and chances are they’ll take a bite out of you, as well!”. He took out some food from his pack, turning to her. ”Now here, eat.” she said, handing it off to her, deciding not to worry about how little they had left. She just ate so much, for such a little thing… but he always found food for them, in the end.

Frowning slightly, he looked around, ”Quiet… people approach.” he said softly, his gaze moving towards the two figures coming towards them. He doubted that Rajah would listen to him, and so he reached out towards her, to take ahold of her arm.

Sasha looked over as Amaya approached, with Cecilla. She hesitated at the question. ”I’m not sure that that will be a good idea. I think we ought to stick together… I don’t like the feel of the place.” she said, ”It’s not about security… someone with Fairy Tail blood needs to be on the island first.” she said, glancing around, frowning slightly. ”I want to make sure everyone is safe, first.”

Sam gladly took the floor, clutching it gently to her chest.She seemed to intently stare at the new comer, keeping her stance by Rose and looking up at the man. Tilting her head, she said softly ”hello”

Expecting the embrace and nuzzle, Michael endured both, seeming to hesitate a moment before returning the hug. "Y-yes... It's b-b-been a while s-since we've t-t-talked. I m-miss s-s-seeing him everyday." Michael said softly, looking up at Prince, sure that he was blushing enough to put a tomato to shame.

Ferrin Astra

The cabin was lit by half light of the sun streaming through a small porthole. It's stale and musty air was tinged with the omnipotent taste of salt. Wood staves creaked and groaned with the gentle rocking of the ship, providing a discordant chorus. A lone figure, standing straight and tall, interrupted the light's path, sending his shadow sprawling across the floor. A silent tension lay over him. His breath was steady, a gentle, rhythmic ebb and flow. Around him, a gentle silver mist swirled in time with his inhale and exhalation. The amount of magic gathered in the room was visible to the naked eye in the form of that mist. Fractured images, like shards of a mirror, danced within the roiling mist, reflecting the inside of the cabin and it's occupant.

Tenrou Island was near.
Ferrin could feel it.

He felt a blanketing calm cover him, fill him. A stillness broken only by gentle sounds of life and the creaking chorus of the ship.

He discarded unnecessary thoughts.
He discarded unwanted feelings.

He discarded sight.
He discarded hearing.
He discarded taste, touch, and smell.

Only the magic remained. Seething and surging. Life itself. He focused his mind solely on his control. He held the trance-like state as he opened his eyes and with slow, dream-like motions, readied himself. Pants, Shirt, socks, shoes, and finally, his donned his Armament, the enchanted coat that had seen him through many battles and had preserved his life on numerous occasions. A flash of requip magic brought Shiden, his trusty sword, to his hand. he inspected it's glimmering length and razor-sharp edge. He gave it an experiential flourish, listening to it rend the air. Satisfied, he dismissed it, sending it back to it's magical storage dimension.

He was ready.

With a relaxed exhale, he also dismissed the gathered magic mist, which quickly dispersed into nothing. Wrapping his blanket of calm around his shoulders, like a mantle. With purposeful motions, he opened the door, passed through the hall and strode out into the sunlight.

And promptly collapsed on the deck. "It is...so hot." Ferrin gasped. The air was still and humid and the sun's heat mercilessly beat down on the ship. And in the thousand degree heat, he was wearing a heavy coat and a metal arm. "Nopenopenope." Ferrin muttered, dragging himself back into the relative coolness of the shade. He stood up and swung off his coat. Out of a pocket, he produced a felt pen and then used it to draw a rune on the inside of his coat. He stuck the pen behind his ear and placed his metal palm on the rune. "Rune magic," He chanted. "Regulare Cauma." The was a quick rush of magic and when he removed his palm, the activated rune gently glowed silver. Ferrin slipped his coat back on and sighed in relief. "Ahh, much better." He sighed. The rune regulated heat, which meant that he could stay cool even in the hot sun while wearing a heavy coat.

He spotted Sasha, the driving force behind this expedition, in conversation with another girl and what appeared to be a strange cat. He raised an eyebrow and meandered over, catching the last part of what Sasha was saying.

"With the caliber of wizards gathered here, I would be more worried about making sure the island is safe. If it is still there by the end of this, I will be quite surprised." He called, opting for his signature wisecracks. The magus stopped beside her, giving the two females a nod. He folded his hands behind his back and greeted then. "Good morning." He said to them with unusual friendly cheer. Then his expression turned almost comically puzzled. "I think it is morning. Is it still morning? ...yeah it's morning, jury is still out on the good part though. Good morning." He repeated, flashing both of them a genteel smile. It looked a little strange and out of place. A careful observer might notice the tension in his stance and the restless energy that his imposed calm failed to hide.

He was also gently tapping his right heel and rubbing the thumb and forefinger of his metal hand together behind his back.

Jasmine Lockwood and Rajah

@MarshiestMallow
Penny? Afraid? What would Penny have had to be been afraid of? At this moment she realised she knew very little about the older girl, despite how much she had been shoving her own problems on her. But deciding now wasn't a good time to pry into personal matters, they could do so on their way home, she simply nodded at Penny's words as she took the older girl's hand. This was fear she could somewhat manage, this was more akin to nerves at the moment than fear per say anyway. She had experienced far, far worse sensations than this. Like back in Crocus, with Mr Ducarthy...

Shuddering at the memory, she did her best to keep stride with the older girl. Luckily they didn't have to go far to see the fish, she wasn't too sure how she would go at long distance travel by foot to be perfectly honest, having spent the at least last couple of years cooped up in a carriage sorta destroyed your stamina.

Jasmine couldn't quite make them out very well from this distance, but the chances of these flying specks being anything other than the fish were slim. I mean what else could they be, a swarm of flying cats? pfft, that was silly. Cats couldn't fly.
"S-sure are a lot of them." Ok, now she was afraid that was for certain. She wasn't sure how many she was expecting, but just from the specks alone, she estimated there must be what...one hundred? Two hundred? More? It was impossible to make out their exact numbers, but what mattered was that there was a lot of them.

"Umm...Penny, what's that?" Noticing something flying straight at them, Jasmine tensed up. Surely they weren't close enough for any of the fish to spot them, no the large flock hadn't changed their distance all that much. Maybe they had caught the attention of some stragglers? Wait, this was too furry and small to be one of the flying fish this was...

"Bah, nothing can eat me unless I decide it. And obviously, that ain't happen anytime soon you fuckwit." Rajah proclaimed with pride and disdain, crossing her arms. How dare he even suggest that she, a supreme being beyond comprehension, would be eaten by such an insignificant creature such as that. It had been chosen as her food, it would've been honoured! Perhaps it felt it wasn't worthy of being eaten by herself and that's why it ran? Yes, that was surely it.

Nodding to herself, she turned back to reality and the foot that Ignatius now presented her. It was a small offering, some bread and fruit, barely even a snack but she decided that it would suffice for now. It also meant she could spare her acolyte for the time being, and seeing as he was the only one she had at the moment that was useful.
"That's more like Sir Ignatius." Snatching the food from his hands without a word of thanks, just a mere nod that somewhat resembled appreciation, she proceeded to gobble the food down in no time at all.

She had finished the food just as Iggy spoke about people approaching, and he was correct that she wouldn't listen to him. But he was too late in going to grab hold of her; she had already taken off towards the poor unsuspecting duo. He was older and faster than him, but a headstart was a headstart and by now they were well and truly spotted by Penny and Jasmine as she came to a stop just above them. Hovering with her arms crossed once more, and an arrogant smirk that was second to none.
"Ah, humans at last! You lowly creatures sure took your time finding your way here. Get down on your knees and beg and I might consider sparing you my wrath for taking so long to find your master!" With a tone that contained more disdain than an ocean water, Rajah now plopped onto a rock near them and gestured down at the ground.
"Now, atone immediately! Get on your fucking knees and plead for your pathetic fucking lives and all will be forgiven! Bwahahaha!"

Now the sight of Rajah wasn't intimidating in the slightest, she was way smaller than even the average Exceed and was basically just an oversized orange, striped fluffball. Even so, Jasmine took no time at all to scurry away behind of Penny. Was this a flying cat?
Oh god, it was a flying cat. And it talked. It was also extremely rude, seriously rude. Just downright disrespectful and ill-mannered. What was this thing's problem?
"What is that thing Penny? Is...is it dangerous?" It sure sounded dangerous to her. It seemed to have supreme confidence anyway, enough to make the timid girl intimidated that was for sure. Not that's fricken hard to accomplish, the girl was probably afraid of her shadow

Amaya Vanisis And Cecilia

Location: Ship heading to Tenrou Island
With: Ferris and Sasha

@Crimson Raven@MarshiestMallow

Amaya listened to Sash as she nodded thinking about it "Yeah I am see how that can be the cause. I didn't even think of that possibility. "She replied placing her left index finger on her chin clicking about it before she noticed a not so familiar face and scent. She observed him for a few minutes. She could tell something seemed off about him constantly correcting himself on whether it was morning or not. "It is Morning and haven't been the greatest one for me."Said Amaya

"You seem nervous...maybe strained by the way you act. "Said Cecilia

"C-c-Cecilia be nice, he might not like boats like I don't....so maybe being on a boat is so horrible f-for him. "Exclaimed Amaya looking at the cat over her shoulder pressing her index fingers together several times "P-Please excuse my Exceed...sometimes she doesn't know social ques."Apologized Amaya "I don't believe I have met you yet...I am Amaya Van Isis one of the three dragonslayer on this boat. "She said introducing herself to Ferris

As Ferrin approached, Sasha frowned over his words. She looked away, looking over to the island once more. ”The island will be there still. It always will be.” she said softly, looking back to Ferrin, Amaya and the exceed. She still wasn’t so sure about Ferrin… he seemed quite odd, but then again, they all did. She was sure she hadn’t made decisions that would be considered sane the last few months. So, who was she to judge? ”Good Morning. I think that it will be a fine one… until we get to the island, then that is.” She said, shrugging. What was going to happen on the island, was anyone’s guess, but Sasha didn’t think that it would be good.

At Amaya’s and Cecilia’s conversation, Sasha frowned, looking back to Ferrin closely. What was it that he expected to find on the island? She contemplated that for a moment or two, before deciding that that was his business. If he wished to tell them, then that had to be his decision. There was no need to poke or prod. Still, she watched silently, her curiosity burning.

She could feel the island behind her, in a way she never thought it could. It was like it was reaching out, seeking help or perhaps seeking a way of keeping the dangers on its back from spreading throughout the world. Whatever it was, Sasha yearned to help it. .

Penny watched the flying fish, eyeing them, knowing full well the beasts were dangerous. Whether or not they would turn aggressive was another thing, but Penny decided being on guard was better then being sliced to death. Nor did she wish Jasmine to be. She would endeavour to ensure that Jasmine escaped injury free. These creatures… something was angering them. Or maybe this was just a particularly aggressive breed. Or perhaps the fish had just grown tired of humans and decided to retaliate.

”There are, but don’t worry. We can deal with them.” she said, trying to be reassuring to Jasmine, looking to her and giving her a smile. ”If they give us any trouble, you can capture them in water… or I can roast them with fire. But I’m hoping we can do this without hurting them.” She said, looking back towards the fish, frowning as she saw something coming towards them. "I don't know... " she said, stepping towards Jasmine and infront of her.

”They’re exceeds… “ Penny said softly, wondering if she should tell Jasmine that they were often companions to Dragon slayers. She didn’t get the time however as the little flying cat stopped above them. "I assure you, Exceed, we arrived here as fast as we could. As for getting down on my knees, I don't think I will, thank you very much." She said in a mild tone, refusing to be cowed even as the small creature exploded in apparent anger. She met the small, angry cats gaze, her own rather neutral.

”We have a job to do, if you’d like to be civilised.”

Ignatius sighed, following after Rajah. “Rajah, damn it!”

Trinity Stratos
Boat to Tenrou

"There we go. Easy peasy over to the island like that, isn't it?" Trinity ankles softly, approaching and patting Karn's side. She pet him a little bit as he mentioned Mithera. She was with them back at the guild, she remembered Mithera came and spoke to Karn just before they left.

"Well, if she's here, I assume she wanted to come with. Do you know where she went? We can at least ask her what she wants to do, right?

Someone was missing, right? Where'd that cat man get to... Ah. There he is, snuggling up on some poor man. Heh, sure.

Damian, as the night fell over Oshibana, was no closer to understanding what in the hell was going on than he had been before he’d arrived. His conversations with the girls who had been taken and had recently returned had been incredibly unhelpful so far, with all of them describing a similar sensation of becoming suddenly weightless. However, there had been one story that had stood out to the S-Class mage, one that was...well, it was different enough for him to consider following up on it. However, he had already passed along to group up all the women and girls in the town in the one building he was positive would work for his plan. As he walked, he reviewed the story in his mind.

“It was...well, it’s hard to explain. We were all huddled in the living room, my husband armed with a pair of kitchen knives and our son with his guardsman’s spear.” The woman laughed as she shook her head. “We used to think some ruffian would be the worst thing he’d face after he joined up with the Guard force. Anyways, I know what I’m about to say is crazy, but I’ve had a long time to think on what I heard. So, like I said, we were in the living room and I remember hearing, which still doesn’t make sense to me, the sound of the wind rushing up behind me. The thing is though, and this is why I thought for a long time I was crazy, it never passed me. It stopped, then a split second later, I felt like I was weightless and it became hard to breathe. I’m sorry if that didn’t help.”

Damian had consoled the woman, telling her that it was as helpful as it could possibly be and then bade her rest. The story made it sound like wind mage, but it couldn’t be so simple. Every wind mage he’d ever met, which was admittedly only two or three, said that the Wind Body spell couldn’t affect other people, only the caster. Not to mention that I’ve never heard of any mage phasing through a wall or teleporting into an area without some kind of sound… There had been that one guy that James had told the Blade about, who’d been imprisoned beneath the Council building, whose Shadow Magic had been unlike any other that the paladin had seen, but Damian wasn’t convinced that this was a similar situation...yet.

As he rounded a corner, the house he’d picked out to have all the remaining women and girls protected in came into view, fifth one from the left, brick, with windows that were probably the most secure in the city. Of course, since it was the house of the Captain of the City Guard, he most certainly hoped it would be that way. In fact, he’d tested the door himself, and short of Titan Magic or some other strength boosting magic, that door wasn’t going to budge either. If this mage could find a way in around all that, then Damian would be convinced it was time to look at other examples besides conventional Wind Magic. One of the guards spotted him as he approached and rushed up to him.

“Damian Gerard? All the women not in recovery have taken up in the Captain’s house. We have them all in the living room for the night. Any additional ideas?” Damian shook his head as he walked, the guard falling into step beside him.

”No, not that would work. The mayor insinuated that you’ve already tried every advanced entrance prevention technique you can think of, conventional and otherwise. This? As much as I hate to do it, this is a test to se-” His sentence went unfinished as the light of the setting sun vanished and suddenly all the lights for six blocks went out. ”Shit!” He burst into a sprint, slamming open the unlocked door of the house. Damian should have known that any relation to wind magic would allow the man to hear their plan. The living room was just around the corner from the entry hall and the Blade rounded it, Hermes Blades in hand, to find a man made of wind reaching for a girl in the back. Spotting the Blade’s glowing magic blades, he grinned.

”Too slow, ‘Blade.’ Maybe next time.” Grabbing the girl as she turned with a scream, the pair became nothing more than a stiff breeze that flew right out the air vent, his laughter echoing throughout the house. Damian, meanwhile, stared in disbelief. Not only was the man seemingly made of the air that made up the wind, he had transformed that young girl into wind the moment he touched her.

The guard caught up just as the man vanished and turned to look at the dumbstruck Blade of Phoenix Wing. “So, uh...what...what now?” Damian turned after a moment, shaking himself awake from his disbelieving stupor and hardening his resolve to end the threat this lunatic presented.

”Now? Now we know what he can do and how he does it. Now we plan and prepare. We will catch the bastard, somehow.” The only question was, how do you catch and corner the wind?
