Penny sighed at what Mayt said. She was silent for a few moments, watching him as he scooted away, opening a book and then closing it. She eventually said "I know it sucks and it's a slap in the face to be named an S Class wizard, Mayt, but...are names would have been tied to this anyway. It's not like we have hidden away that we are Phoenix Wing Members. And well...perhaps it's good that you are an S class Phoenix Wing Wizard" she shrughed, and shifted into a more comfortable position. She sighed again and said "you'll get your katana back. master Jamie will, or one of the other guild members. Who took it?" she asked suddenly

Maddox lowered his hands, a look of disbelief on his face. How tough is this guy? Maddox wondered, standing upright as Grane addressed him. A stern expression formed on his face when the Council member questioned what he meant by calling himself a Dark Mage. "I've spent most of my life in a guild that operated outside the law," Maddox explained, giving Grane the benefit of the doubt and holding off on his assault. "I have done many, terrible things. While I no longer walk that path the fact remains I cannot undo the things I have done." "No amount of water can wash the blood from my hands, Grane." Maddox raised his left hand toward Grane, with the palm facing toward him. "The rest of the guild doesn't know this. They believe that I was a victim of a Dark Guild. They also don't know how much it means to me that they have accepted me and supported me." He ran his free hand through his hair, brushing some of the red strands out of his eyes. "They've given me a life in the light, and I have been doing everything I can to repay that. Even if it means bringing down the entire Magic Council..."

Mayt just listened to Penny as she talked, checking several different books before deciding he didn't like the entire section. "I have no idea who took my Katana." Would be his first response, before he turns around to face Penny. "I guess if you consider me coming here a good thing. To be completely honest, I was thinking about leaving Phoenix Wing before the whole S-Class hullabaloo." He puffed, leaning back, not looking at Penny. "I'm not now, obviously, it'd be pointless now." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Melina laughed at the suggestion of joining Phoenix Wing. "We both know me joining Phoenix Wing wouldn't end well. For more than one reason." She crossed her arms, still chuckling a little. "I'd tarnish your reputation in a way only I know how, besides, all I'm after is maybe any knowledge you possibly have on blood magic, naturally." She grinned at him. "Would hate to be... Ineffecient with my magic."

Penny frowned, watching Mayt. She sighed and rose, shakily making sure she had her feet before letting go of the book frame. Her body ached, and seemed to want to rebel against her, to sit back down and to just relax. But she didn't. "it's never pointless, Nayt. If you aren't happy, then you should say something" she said softly, looking about. Where would a katana have gone in a fight? For maybe Mayt had lost it in the fight against the council members. She grimaced, and started to walk about, often using her unhurt arm to balance on the book case. So much damage. She kicked away some rubble, wondering which hole that had come from. She searched for a few moments, before seeing the glint of metal. She let out a sigh, and very carefully, she leaned down. Dizziness swam over her, and she thought she was going to fall, but she managed not to. She picked the Katana up, and just leaned against the book case for a moment, before heading back to Mayt. "here" she handed it to him, before picking up an unturned chair, and sinking into it, breathing heavily. Her face was deathly pale, dark bruises standing out around her eyes, her skin glistening with sweet.

Master Jamie

Master Jamie laughed, "because you aren't efficient with it now, Melina? You know? I think you are scared Phoenix Wing will tarnish you as your reputation. That the guild, or any guild, would make you care for anyone other then Mytheria, or yourself. THat it would mKe you a better person. And that terrifies you." she chuckled, and said "there is some information on blood magic in the guild. Maybe I'll get the information to you" another shrug

"I'm curious, Penny if I did get the funds would you be interested in helping? he looks up as she hands a sword to Mayt then flipped to another section of the book, "Hmm... that's a nicely made sword. Where did you get it? I have a couple nice ones as well. My daughter has one of the nicest I've seen though."

Sayuri

Sayuri watched very intrigued by the area. She followed taking as much in as possible knowing she probably wouldn't be down here for a long time. As they walked out towards the eleator she looked down to see how far it was. Wistling she walked onto the elevator when Wes told her to be careful. She smiled at him, "You know me I'm always careful," as they entered the last room she just stared and was taken by surprise when she heard a wispery voice, "Wes what the hell is this place and what is that!"

Penny blinked and looked over at Masahiko, somewhat confused at what he meant. Help? How could she help? And help with what? Making magic seen in a lighter way? She frowned and said"well, what do you mean by help? That could be taken several ways. Help build a better council hall? Help with a festival? Help burn Angelica or lizard man? I'd gladly do that last one" she said, but her tone was light, almost jokingly.

Mayt looked over at Penny, skewing his face a little, and frowned a little bit as she got up. ”What do I say though? I’d be the minority in the situation regardless.” He sighed, and grimaced as Penny went off, but smiled a bit when she brought him his Katana. Taking it with both hands he put it across his lap. ”Thanks.” He nodded politely and motioned that she could sit next to him. As the Council Member asked about his weapon, he held it up and ran his hand along the blade’s ‘scar’. ”I think it’s custom forged, I don’t know from where though. My birth parents gave it to me on one of my birthdays, and I haven’t gotten a chance to ask where to got it.” He spun it once, carefully, before sheathing it. ”Looked nicer before I somehow managed to char it. Heaven knows how the hell I did that.” ---------------------------------------------

Melina smiled, enjoying the fact that this was becoming a battle of words. ”Whether or not I fear becoming caring, I doubt your guild would appreciate someone who will kill first, ask questions later.” She twirled her knife to demonstrate this, smiling. ”And it’s hard to be a renegade when you’re having to report to some above power.”

Lazarus admired the book for a moment, before daring to look at the front cover. He couldn't read too well either, but much better than Sasha. "L-Lucy Heat.... Hert... Heeartphilia." He was proud of himself and he posed somewhat for getting the words right. "It funny isnt it? How one little book can cause all this trouble for our guild, yet it holds the answers to our problem. He sighed before handing it back to Sasha carefully.

"The dead are everywhere. Places they love, people they loved, the place they are buried. They can be in any of those locations and more. They store energy during the day and come out at night most of the time." Amelia said." I can make a contract with any spirit and summon them. I mostly go for mages and fighters though." Joshua, meanwhile, was looking at Lazarus " Do you know how to read?" He asked, surprised to see the mage having a hard time.

Lazarus rolled his eyes in the direction of the Joshua. "I can read. Just not as well or as quickly as others." He thought about his past for a moment, understanding that Joshua knew nothing about him really. "I'll tell you about myself someday, and you'll understand." He grasped a hold of Sasha with one arm and squeezed tightly once more. "But we are getting better at it together you see? Another victory for Frozen Heart! Best team in Phoenix wing." He clenched his other fist. "But to answer your question. I can read what is necessary to completely my role as a phoenix wing wizard." he humphed.

Sasha cradled the book. It might seem silly, but it felt slightly warm. Was that because of the importance of it, or was it because it had been written by a guild wizard, one who probably impacted some of her own thoughts and feelings into te writing? She traced the mark on it. "What about those that are lost?" She asked softly, her voice curiously void as emotion, "my family was never recovered" she looked up, feeling comforted when Lazarus took a hold of her once more. "So it's interesting to me. Wouldn't souls, spirits, be confused and lost after death?"

Master Jamie

Jamie laughed "well in anycase, there's valuable information in the guild library and I just can't let you have free rein. I can however find information for you" better that then Melina trying to find out what she could do on her own. Certainly less pain for people, he imagined

"A body is not needed for a spirit. If they cared for you a lot, they may watch over you and make their presence known at some point. If I were to see them I'll let you know." Amelia said, giving Sasha a small smile. "Huh. Someday then." Joshua said, returning to his sword. He knew when not to ask questions and this was one of those times. Sides, he wasn't going to tell them his past anytime soon so he had no right to askem them theirs in his mind. But some was bothering him." Hey Ame, were are your parents? Your young to be wondering around on your own." "That's... a long story." Amelia said, looking a bit sad now.

Sasha didn't need an incentive to rise, and give Amelia a hug. "We all have our stories" she knew what it was like to be a kid, and have no parents. No family. "But this guild, makes them seem not so...burdensome. I found a family, when I never thought I could again." She smiled, stepping back "if you choose to join, you will see" she said, looking over to Lazarus, and smiling again, sitting back down, the book now in her satchel once more

"I'm considering your idea by holding some kind of festival and your magic is useful for both entertainment are security. I have some concerns and having some strong mages as entertainers would be extremely helpful," he closes his book and returns it to the shelf. He looks the two again and sighs, "You guys look like you could use something to regain your energy. Any requests?"

Penny blinked, frowning at what Masahiko suggested. "So you want me to fly around in my phoenix from, entertaining people and looking for any trouble?" She said, leaning forward, but bracing her feet. "You realise for that to work, you will have to follow Master Jamie's idea, absolving Phoenix Wing of any blame for what's happened here? And therefore, having Phoenix Wing Wizards Entertaining will be seen as...amazing. The heroic guild who help take down corrupted council wizards? People will flock" she shrugged, "I'm fine. I feel like if I eat something, I'll just throw it back up"

[Damian] The pair moved through the maze like lower levels of the Council building with a single purpose, with the intent to find and defeat the wizard who hurt their friends. Damian was especially livid, with Penny being his best friend. When they rounded a corner, they found themselves facing a door with the sounds of combat and discussion coming from behind it. "Told you I could find it. You think I don't know combat when I hear it?" James shook his head and took up a position on the left side of the door. "Fine, you know combat when you hear it. We going to do this?" Damian took up a position on the right but made no move to enter, seeming to listen. "We wait until there's a lull in the combat. Be just our luck to kick open the door and get blasted by a friendly spell." [James] James sighed and nodded, listening to everything happening on the other side of the door. He also looked sideways at Damian. The man was way too friendly with battle, and what he'd said to Masahiko, about Death being an old friend to him...What secrets lie in the past of the Blade of Phoenix Wing I wonder. He always seemed to force himself to avoid dealing lethal blows in combat too, an odd practice for one who's magic is capable of death. In fact, he remembered from the ride to save Penny from the Blood Mage that Damian had said he actively blunted the edges on his spells to keep from killing someone. Again, so strange... James slowly drew his own sword and kept his shield ready. "I'll go on your mark, Damian." Damian nodded, and they waited.

Karn Fiore || Kabo || Council Underground Aquifer Interacting: Trinity

Body tensing as he felt something hit his hind leg, he whipped his head to his left side in examination, and seeing Trinity using her magic on him. Blinking a little, he put more weight on his hind leg, and it felt a little better. Smiling, he looked to Trinity and nodded. "Thank you!" he said happily as he waited for the others to catch up before moving a bit deeper in. He could sense they were close. And he could hear the sound of battle, but he couldn't see them. It was just a empty room and the smell of water made him edgy. Slowly, he cautiously stepped inside, agreeing with Trinity that they should be careful, not wanting to head right in the middle of the crossfire. Karn wasn't sure if he could handle such a thing in his current condition, even if he did feel better. If this Lizardman was able to beat up Penny and Mayt that badly, he wasn't confident he'd be much better as injured as he was. "Hey everyone, I know it's somewhere here..." he said behind him but saw there was no one there so he shrugged. Stepping further inside, he heard a crack from under his weight, and suddenly the stone collapsed from underneath him. All of sudden, he was falling. Now, perhaps if he was thinking clearly, he could of just changed into his Pegasus form and him and Trinity would of been just fine. However, all thought and reason left as he recognized the thing that was below him. Nothing else registered in his brain. Not the battle between Maddox and the Lizardman, not Trinity, not his comrades behind him, just the source that had his full attention below him. Water. Time seemed to go slowly, his brain feeling numb and still as his body trembled and the large furry body flailing in utter panic before crashing headlong into the water. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! AHHHH AAAH AH AH AG AH HEID EBFFF!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHRRRRROOOOOAAAWWWWRR!!!!!WATERAHAHAHAH DROWNING DROWNING AAAAAAAHRRROOOOOAR!!!!" Karn screamed in between a human screaming bloody murder and a beast roaring at the top its lungs, the massive beast flailing wildly in utter panic in the lake. Fear engulfing every fiber of his being as his body was soaked, the fur becoming heavier and dragging him lower into the water as he flailed about. No control was into his transformation, all he knew is that he was terrified, and that he had to be out of his animal form, otherwise he risked losing his mind. So he transformed. But it was spastic transformation. One point, it was a horse , the next a cat, then a snake, then a monkey, then a fish, then bird, and several others as he spastically flopped about in the water in a panic until finally he managed to be human again. It took him several failed attempts, but the boy managed to scramble on a little rock in the middle of the water, pressing his knees against his chest, curled up in the tightest sitting up position ball he could muster, and was trembling in terror. "Water... Why is it always water?!" Karn wailed with a soft sob before glancing toward toward the water surface, looking for his first friend when arriving in Magnolia.

Mayt --- Magic Council Library

Mayt muttured a few unpleasant words under his breath as he stood up slowly, using the bookcase to help him. "Hate it when my legs fall asleep." Once he was standing, he twirled his sword once before sheathing it. "I'll leave this conversation to the ones better suited to it. I'm not good at making deals nor as an entertainer. Waving a pointy metal stick doesn't begin to compare to a phoenix." He turned to face the two, smirking, before giving a wave and going to take a walk around, shoving his hands into his pockets. "If you need me, I'll probably be reading something." He grimaced as he almost tripped on a piece of rubble. He let out a breath as he recovered, and kept walking, his steps heavy.

Melina --- Magic Council Library

Melina shrugged. "I'm fine with you looking for something for me, since you're the guild master the only guild that's a threat to me at the moment." She crossed her arms, smiling a bit, and putting her knife back up. "Which means I get to travel with you all back there. Certainly will be entertaining to say the least."

Interacting With:Trinity, Karn. Jarvis looked back, seeing Karn and Trinity. He watched the fall, unable to stop it. At the yelling, roaring,screaming and general fear, he cursed and with a Lacrima, he appeared before Karn, a flash of light from both locations appearing. He crouched beside Karn, and said, "Come on now, son, the water doesn't hurt, does it? Just cold and unpleasant" He said softly, caringly, shrugging out of his jacket, he bundled Karn up in it. Everyone had a fear of something, he supposed. He just found it odd that the shapeshifter would be afraid of water. Did Karn know how to swim? Probably something to ask at a later date. "It's okay, Karn. The guild won't let anything happen to you" He rose, looking for Trinity, hoping the girl was alright. Was he going to have to dive in to search for her? Had she even fallen in the water? "Trinity?"

Master Jamie

Master Jamie gave a shrug, "As long as you don't tick anyone off, you should be alright. We will be heading back as soon as the rest of the members join us here. So you have some time". She looked about, and approached a stack of books that had obviously been knocked about in the fighting, spread all over the floor. He picked up a random book, studied it for a moment, and then placed it on a table. "And we won't be riding the train in anycase" She added, as if on an after thought.

Masahiko laughs and pulls a chair up across from her, "Oh I'm well aware of what it will look like. As much as I dislike it the Council is more politics than anything. And I'm disappointed you could do many more entertaining things then just turn into a pheonix with your magic," he leans back in his chair, "Changing topics have you met my daughter yet?"
