Important Please Read first: I'm looking for Rpers who are funny, can improvise and most importantly are dedicated. Otherwise do not post on here. Your unit will not comprise of the current members from the popular series and essentially will start a fresh. This mean that you can have your character act however you want or look however you wish. Oh yeah, one more thing. This rp will contain strong language.

The Freelancer program was one of the many programs trying to create the 'magic bullet' to win the Great War. The program was designed to create a unit of exemplary soldiers, like the Spartans only less drugged up. Hiring 49 members to participate all with from the military. These members were all given codenames after the remaining states in the USA, not including Florida which no longer exists.

This unit of 49 was split into smaller divisions, with the first unit being assigned a partner AI for each member. This is your Unit. Each AI has unique traits, as the AIs represented different parts of the human mind for example; Epsilon being memory, and Omega anger.

The Great war is the current on going battle between the UNCS and the Covenant. While the Freelancer Project was designed to fight the covenant its main focus has been to stop rebels and other threats that may threaten the overall stability of the Freelancer Project.

The project is overseen by the Director, with help by another high ranking member of the Freelancer Project; The Counselor.

Personality: Jacobs is an optimistic guy who always sees the funny side of a dangerous situation. He hates being wrong and doesn't appreciate being corrected (Even when he is wrong). Jacobs can be very cocky and overestimate an opponent, situation or even his own skills. Taking on tasks that are far too difficult for him alone, he can be very stubborn and will not admit when he needs help or even ask for it. Even with all this he keeps his head and always thinks about the objective and how to achieve it.

History: Jacobs had an ordinary childhood, nothing truly special. Brought up on military drills and weapon stripping he has known nothing but UNSC and the pride he would bring his family fighting for the UNSC. His family were quick to distrust the Elites joining humanities caused and this xenophobia rubbed off on Jacobs. Once he was of age he was shipped straight off to the nearest UNCS barracks to begin his training.

Fast forward several years and Jacobs found himself fighting an innumerable foe know as the flood and in charge of his own six man squad. Called the greatest threat to the galaxy Jacobs fully understood why. During one particular battle in which Jacobs and five other men had to protect and hold a comms array Jacobs finally saw the elite in a positive light. During the fighting Jacobs lost all of his men too the monstrous creatures with his back against the wall he saw his fellow soldiers rise up and turn on him. Seeing no way out he pulled the pin on a grenade and held it to what was left of his helmet.

Before he could finish himself the Elite reinforcements arrived in a rain of plasma fire. Throwing the grenade into the horde he watched as the Elite forces swept through the sea of flood systematically slaughtering this great threat. With the threat eliminated Jacobs thanked the Elites for their help. A few months later he was put forward for the Freelancer Project.

Personality: Ruby is normally quite caring of her teammates, but is also quite shy, meaning that meeting new people isn't exactly her specialty. Otherwise, she is a fun girl to be around, often cracking jokes (most of which are terrible, at least, she thinks so), sometimes even in the heat of battle at an LZ. She treats her teammates like family, growing quite attached to them. She is easily made upset, but just as easily made annoyed. Ruby will sometimes come up with good (or bad) ideas during combat that would support (or might now support) the team.

History: Just like lots of other children, Ruby had lots of jobs she wanted to take part in. She was good with computers, so she wanted to be a computer engineer. She was also good with electronics, so she wanted to be an electrician. Her parents just nodded, and helped her learn. One day, Ruby was watching a program about marines, and the UNSC. She turned to her parents, and she said to them; "I want to be a marine!" They simply nodded, taking it as another swing of which career the girl wanted when she was older. The only thing was, Ruby hadn't taken another swing. She had made her choice.

As Ruby grew up, she started taking part in more physical exercises. She got herself really fit, but also continued to study computing and electronics as well. Years later, when she was nineteen, she told her parents that she was going to register for the marines. Her parents looked at each other with a very, very nervous look, then told Ruby to sit down. They had a very long talk with her, and eventually were convinced that Ruby was going to be alright in the marines (and that there was no stopping her anyways). The next day, Ruby walked to the nearest recruitment station, and registered herself.

Ruby took part in many missions, a lot of which included her because of her skills in computing. The skills she had meant she could hack into things quite easily, especially with help from a spoofer. A few more years, and she was making incredible progress in the marines. It was by this she was invited to join Project Freelancer, to which she accepted. Ruby was asked questions, to which she answered. She was asked if she wanted to ask anything, to which she did ask a few questions. Afterwards, she was put through an exam, and was truly admitted into Project Freelancer. She started to train a bit more in short range combat than she originally had in basic marine training, and continued to train in hacking.

Otherwise, Ruby prefers to be at close range with the enemy, though she will attempt not to let them get to a range where hand-to-hand combat is a factor unless it is necessary.

Appearance: If you want a size comparison, he's about the same size of Maine/the Meta.

Personality: Zeke is a hard-ass type of guy, it doesn't necessarily means he doesn't have a sense of humor but most of the time he is straight to the point and doesn't sugar coat things. If things look bad, he is going to be the guy to admit that shit is about to hit the fan and not everyone is going to make it rather then try and be optimistic. Yet despite his hard nature, he enjoys poking his comrade's buttons and has a sense of humor that lies under the hard exterior, though whether or not that sense of humor is safe for his comrades is harder to answer, he has been known to let a live flash grenade loose in their rooms to see how fast they can scramble away from it before it goes off. He doesn't understand why he is the only one who finds it funny. XD

History: Hard to imagine a dropout could find his way to the freelancer program. He dropout of college sick and tired of the grind and joined the UNSC despite his parents protests, figuring he would want more out of life then being a 'dumb grunt' described by his father. He gave them the bird and out the door he went to start a new life as a soldier. It was no cakewalk though and at first Zeke barely scraped by to make it even into the army but he wanted to prove to everyone that he was more then just some dumb grunt and kept pushing himself, trying to be the best of the best. He was eventually moved over to work in an ODST unit, though his hopes of serving on Reach when the covenant attacked never came true, he still saw his fare share of battles within his unit where he soon got know for being a hardcase with his superiors. He got the job done for the most part but there were complaints of disobeying directives and reckless endangerment though no one was ever killed. Perhaps this was what eventually got the attention of those who ran the freelancer program. His dedication to get the job done by any means necessary would be considered a valuable assist to the program for those missions that were balls to the walls so to speak.

So now there he was a Freelancer, after ten years of working to show the people at home he was more then a grunt, he stood at the top with some of the best of the best, now he just tries to show he can be even better then them while playing the practical joke here and there that may or may not threaten the safety of those around him.

Appearance:

Arizona has a clean shaven look, his young features marred by lines of stress and worry, not to mention the occasional scar. His skin while dark looks like it has began to pale from lack of sunlight, it serves as a contrast to his black styled hair and dark brown eyes. He is fairly well built, though not to the point of it being remarked upon, this of course is only further enhanced by his sense of style; Being able to wear anything and still look like that's how he dresses all the time. It's this trait that makes him forgettable to most that meet him.

Personality: Arizona is a masochistic fatalist, always looking at the bad side of things. It takes him a while to accept when something is going his way for once, and even then, he doesn't expect it to last long. During the best of times he can be an airhead, his thoughts and musings more important than what's going on around him. Quiet and soft spoken, he only really speaks up when spoken to, or to berate those that irritate him. While in battle, he thinks of himself first and others later. Usually under the assumption that others can handle themselves.

History: There's nothing really remarkable about Arizona's life that others haven't went through, a compulsive need to please his parents and cold reactions from many of his peers sent the young man down a path of nihilism. He began to despise everything around him, this eventually lead him to a life in the UNSC at a younger age than most out of spite for his previous life. There, he put as much effort into the military life as he once did as a civilian, things were going his way for once. That is of course before his entire squad were picked off by an insurrectionist sniper, being the sole survivor only due to hiding where the sniper could not find him. He lasted for days sneaking about, the dead all around him. Reinforcements would arrive, but Arizona was just as dead inside as his squad was. No longer fit for active duty, his story would get him picked up from there to Project Freelancer. Not exactly much changed with that, he's back to feeling the despair of life, with his superiors and other Agents ignoring him.

Weapon Loadout: M319 Individual Grenade Launcher & M6G Personal Defense Weapon System (Also favors his Combat knife).

Fighting Style: To put it in one word; Sneaking. Arizona isn't one to get in a full on fire-fight, instead he wait until such a localized chaotic event does occur and strikes while people are distracted. Preferring to be up close and personal with those he strikes people down, he has been noted to enjoy using explosives as well from time to time.

Personality: Ana is possibly one of the most positive operatives there ever was. She's always brimming with energy and isn't afraid to joke around with her squadmates, which can make her a bit unbearable at times. Her attitude hardly changes during battle. She enjoys herself immensely in the heat of a firefight and feels at home while fighting. She loves challenges, and might just drag out a battle longer than necessary as she plays and toys with the enemy.

History: Ana was hardly the model soldier the UNSC would look for. She grew up in a slum with her father, a retired, alcoholic marine, in a slum in Mars and quickly learned how to fight and when to run. What the little girl lacked in muscle she made up for sheer speed and agility. Eventually, she ran away from her home and father to join the UNSC, thinking that it was probably her only way out of the dusty red planet. And it was.

Soon enough Ana proved herself to be a fearless fighter. She fought with little regards for her life, her quick reflexes saving her life more than once, and quickly began ascending ranks as her scars started to pile up. She also became quite the pilot on the army, but the crafts she drove or flied didn't always return in one piece. Her crowning achivement was when she was able to take down a Brute Chieftain while commanding a squad of marines. She finished him of by tripping the wounded chieftain and then emptying an entire M7 submachine gun in his mouth. The fight did cost her her right arm, but she later commented it was the most fun she ever had.

Even after joining several Spec Ops teams Ana was still looking for something with more danger and excitement. When she was offered a place in Project Freelancer she was told she would be dealing with experimental technology, high-risk missions and adversaries more fearsome than the Covenant. How could she say no?

Fighting Style: Ana fights at medium to close range. Her Armour Ability allows her to close the distance between her and the enemy very quickly, slicing them apart with her knife. Instead of using brute force, she prefers to use rolls, backflips and precise strikes to engage the enemy.

Other: TL;DR She is essentially a rogue/pilot.

Personality: Hood can best be generalized as a laid back jokester. Most of the time, he is neither angry nor upset, and he likes cracking a joke or two when he finds the opportunity. When in combat, he becomes utterly serious. He'll still let his humor shine when in a fight by using one-liners, but the laid-back end of his personality almost seems to disappear.

History: Hood used to be a renowned sniper for the UNSC during the Insurrection and a portion of the Great War. He was at the Fall of Reach, and during this battle, he claimed over 3000 confirmed kills, almost half of which were Kig-Yar, and a quarter of which were Sangheli. He escaped from the planet's glassing on the Pillar of Autumn, and he even met the Master Chief briefly. After being honorably discharged from his service as a Marine sniper, he signed up for Project Freelancer.

Appearance:
Small, thin, and weak-looking, it would be an obvious reaction to giggle at this Freelancer's appearance, though one should not judge a book by its cover. Underneath her helmet she is round faced and stoic, with short blonde hair, gray eyes, and thin lips. Her armor is thinner then most, though a bit heavier as well due to her interest in a thicker defense, and is gray and blue in color. When out of her gear, she dresses as plainly as possible, and almost always has a cig on hand.

Personality:
Cold, cynical, and quiet, it's obvious that Chris isn't much of a people's person. Growing up in a rather unhealthy environment is probably the cause for her distrustful nature, so one should make sure not to take any glares or harsh insults to heart. Despite her ruthless tongue, she can be rather decent person, often giving advice too closer friends, and can possibly crack a snide joke here and there if inspired. A solider who is very wrapped up in her training, Chris can almost always be found sparring, studying, or even just exercising when not on a mission.

Thanks to her past aspiration of being a medic, she is surprisingly well versed in pressure points, human weaknesses, medicines, and medical treatments, though she rarely has time to show off these skills. Ambitious, Chris always likes to try her best, even if she ends up burning out in the end. Her "try hard and anything can happen" ideals are often brought up when one looks upon her constant overexertion and need to succeed. When she doesn't win, or when she doesn't excel in something, she can become a bit depressed, losing all motivation for a few days until she can kick start herself once more.

Smart, Chris realizes her own strengths and weaknesses, and while she is a failure at using tech she does realize that her words can get the point across. She can easily play a female fatale if not for all that armor. Other than speech, she excels in knowing all about the human body, and she uses this knowledge much in close combat battles. Chris can also think rather well on her feet, though likes to follow a set plan more often than not. Normally cool-headed in tense situations, she always thinks before acting, and keeps light on her feet. However, her constant stubborn and cynical nature can make her rather hardheaded, and she can sometimes go over board and become reckless if agitated too much.

History:
Chris Valentine was brought into a shitty world. Nothing more to say. A poor family's daughter, she constantly fought to stay above others, constantly fought with her shitty, angry father to defend her mother, and constantly fought for her wants and rights. She was initially inspired to excel in the sciences by army medics, who always fought for others and strive to perfect their art and their abilities, but as she grew up in her lonely, shitty world, Chris began to realize how much she couldn't trust others. She first realized this in her second year of college, in a class full of tired adults and dreary lectures. In front of her was a med-school text book, and beside her was a stranger, and the more she thought about this stranger, helping this stranger, saving thing stranger, talking to this stranger, the more she realized how much she couldn't even imagine saving this man's life.

Chris dropped out of college in her third year, and with nothing left but her knowledge of medicine and somewhat athletic abilities, she joined the military. Her ambition quickly took hold of her life once more, and she once again began to strive for perfection, but this time in fighting and killing and obeying. She trained hard, harder than most, and constantly overworked herself, though even the worst of moments can pay off in the long run. She was drafted into countless missions, sometimes leading, sometimes not, but with anything she did she always tried her hardest, and eventually began to stand out enough to catch someone's eye.

After years and years of missions, Chris had begun to allow herself to open up to some of the other troops. One particular mission, a defense mission, gave her a moment where she had to rescue, defend, and then stitch up a fellow solider. The fact that Chris had done that made her feel a bit of hope, thinking that if she could help someone so easily then perhaps her cynical nature was beginning to fade. Her ability to plan on the run, kill and stay just one step ahead of others was what got her pulled into Project Freelancer, and, well, the rest is obviously history.

Fighting Style:
Chris, surprisingly, dislikes confrontation when it's not needed. Stealth is one of her better points, as she has always had a rather low presence, and her thin body frame and quiet footsteps make her a natural at slipping passed watchful eyes. However, if the time comes for a battle, she likes to, simply put, play with her enemies. Smoke grenades, flashes, confusing holograms, she throws whatever she can at an attacker to keep them stunned and easy to pick off. Thanks to her somewhat gaudy attacks, she is best suited to be a distraction. Due to her lack of strength, Chris relies much more on her speed and ability to catch and attack weak points to take down opponents, and because of this her forte is close-mid combat. Very flexible, very quick, and normally calm in tense situations. (Great martial artist. Mediocre marksman. Mediocre tank.)

- Could obviously become a makeshift medic
- An idiot when it comes to handling most technology
