While some in the group remained skeptic about the appearance of the angel and the validity of her existence, Li for one chose to accept it. It wasn't everyday some shining oracle of the beyond came floating down on glittering wings speaking divine and unknowable truths. Really, all one needed to do was observe the 'angel' for a few moments before the validity of the scene became evident. This was far more than some magic show.

Still, there wasn't much for the boy to say other than to nod his aforementioned acceptance. They'd been chosen for something, for some task, now it'd be best to hear it? Li allowed his arms to curl against his chest, folding them atop one another, slight scowl tugging at the edges of his lips. The worst part about this whole thing was that damned waiting.

The angel expected this. Indeed, she had just suddenly called them over, so it was a bit much to expect that they would all outright believe her. She smiled and began to explain herself when the one known as Yousuke bent forward to touch her wings. As soon as he did so, a pang of warmth shot through his fingers and spread throughout his whole body. On the First Day, stretched her wings, covering Yousuke's back like a blanket.

"Are you cold perhaps?" she asked. "If it is warmth, then I can provide you some, though we should hurry on."

She cleared her throat to get everyone's attention once more, and began her explanation.

"In the universe, as vast as it is, there are somethings born of natural causes, however, their effects on the world are anything but," she stated. "These are known as 'Disorders' they are like a virus; they latch on to something that can hide them from our eyes, that prevent us from knowing where they are. They grow and fester, until they become strong enough to take a form of their own. Then, they begin wrecking havoc on Reality, because they do not follow the rules set up by Reality since the dawn of time.

"Still, even then, they are a minor threat. The full threat that Disorders present is that they can become catalysts for True Devils. Once they become powerful enough, they can become hosts, a sort of fetus for the Devils until the time is right to be born. When they are, no matter how fast we Angels react, destruction and evil will spread at a tragic rate."

On The First Day paused, allowing that information to sink in.

"Despite this, as beings bound by Ancient Rules, we are unable to go down and find the Disorders ourselves; interacting with humanity cannot be done except in very special circumstances, such as right now. Thus, Virtues of Heaven such as myself often employ human agents to act on our behalf; priests or prophets, if you will.

"Each of you here were called because you posses the capacity to accept the gifts that I can give you. How or what determines that capacity is a mystery even to me, but the fact remains that I know you have it - for after all, you alone are the ones that accepted my summoning. I present this knowledge to you. Should you accept my call, then the gifts I have at the ready are yours, if not then I will send you on your way, unmolested. If it is desired, I can even remove all memory of this meeting from your minds, to preserve what you know about your ordinary lifestyle.

"My Lords and Ladies, I, On The First Day, humbly ask you to accept this task, and to do everything in your power to assist us."

The Angel finished with a deep bow, and her wings briefly glowed golden. A sudden flash of insight filled the thoughts of everyone - they could all see it; the different universes, the gifts that they would recieve, and even tiny hints of how a true Disorder looked like.

As Yosuke's fingertips came in contact with the feathers of light on the girl's wings, he actually gasped, as if he was in some sort of shitty movie. The warmth she emanated was intoxicating. He smiled for the first time in and hour, and an incredible calm shrouded him. When she wrapped her wings around him, he shuddered and his knees threatened to buckle ou from under him. Normally being this close to a woman would make him vomit out of nervousness and flee, but the sensation was so overpowering he couldn't even think.

Yeah, she was magic.

On The First Day, or, as he would prefer calling her, Angel, explained herself. As he understood it, they were her champions to go and correct various errors in certain worlds, as to not facilitate the destruction of the entire multiverse. A heavy job for a team of teenagers with attitude. He wasn't just tasked with saving the world, but all worlds. Ever. Shit man, that was a tall order. Especially if he was being placed with these probable dumbasses, all of whom he hadn't know until this very instant.

Angel's wings flashed with a deep golden light, and visions flooded his brain. He saw it. The variety of the multiverse. Worlds, Planets, Galaxies. The infinite complexity of universes, tons of them, compacted into an instant. He also saw the amazing powers to be granted to him. The ability to take the air right out of a man's lungs. To cause a massive implosion. To mess with one of the fundamental forces of the universe, vacuum. The ability to animate the inanimate, motion to the motionless. That anime plushie in his room? He could talk to it! But most importantly, there was a girl. There was someone to talk to, to defend him, to help him. Someone who just might understand him and like him, for once in his god forsaken life.

"I'm in." Yosuke said, with a resolve sturdier than topaz.

As the boy gasped upon touching the angel's wing, Lotte knew it was real. That the being in whole was, in fact, real. When the large wing enveloped him though, she did wish she could touch it too.

However, when First cleared her throat and looked serious, her attention went back to her message. With each word the angel spoke, Lotte had recognized them to be sincere. Truly, this was such a rare occasion. To accept the heavy task or not? The decision had been made even before she came to the hill. It was a yes, of course. She would be excited, even, to be able to change her predictably trite life; to experience something new.

As First's wings momentarily flashed golden, images filled her mind, racing about. The different worlds she couldn't recognize; the beauty of the universe. She also saw a glimpse of hints of a Disorder. What intrigued her most was, in fact, the gifts that she could possess if she were to accept the angel's request. To be able to actually be up in the sky, feel the wind, control it. To form shields to protect. To control speed. It was all wonders she'd only dreamed of. And before her was the chance for it to be hers.

But of course she weighed all the repercussions too: she could fail in her task, get lost between universes, and die, even. So many more. Still, she wouldn't pass up the chance to change her life.

"The same for me," Lotte said firmly, devoid of any hesitation.

The skeptic reached for First Day's wings to prove they were not real. Steven understood his disbelief, if he was a little more bold he would have done the same. However the angel, though unintentionally, proved to the skeptic boy that she was real when she enveloped the boy in one of her wings. Steven could see in the skeptic that he was definitely feeling whatever loving aura First Day was emanating. Steven could only wonder what it felt like.

After unintentionally 'schooling' the skeptic boy, Angel proceeded to explain 'Disorders'. Something that causes problems with the fabric of reality though their real threat is being hosts to 'True Devils' which causes much more destruction before First Day's kind could intervene. The angel paused after this to let the information to sink in. Steven could see why First Day was doing this though he wondered why don't the angels deal with the Disorders themselves.

Apparently, First Day and her kind are bound by 'Ancient Rules' which forbade them from dealing with the problem. Interacting humans with was also a special occasion and the humans before First Day were, according to her, very special. The criteria was unknown even to the angel though she, according to her, knew that these young people were the right people. They had the choice to decline though and no consequence nor harm shall befall them.

"My Lords and Ladies, I, On The First Day, humbly ask you to accept this task, and to do everything in your power to assist us."

The Angel finished with a deep bow, and her wings briefly glowed golden. Suddenly, Steven's mind was assaulted with information about the vastness and variety of the multiple universes, the hints of the appearance of a Disorder and most of all, what Steven's power was like. It was always his favorite power since it was incredibly useful in most situations and it was fairly adaptable. Despite its destructive nature, it was always up to the user whether to be that way or opt for a more peaceful approach.

Steven smiled. This was his one chance to change his life to something more louder and exciting. To cure his loneliness. Two others have already agreed. "Count me in too." Make that three.

"So help huh, with everything thing?" Jynmi paused, and took a moment to let that sink in. Everything was in danger. Not just himself, the world, the world beyond, the galaxies, or a few dimensions, but everything, existence as a whole was in danger of bursting into chaotic flames that would ultimately consume everything. That is, unless he was misunderstanding things, which he assumed was possible, but he doubted it. That was the weird thing. He doubted he was wrong about the severity of the situation. He'd never been without doubt. Why, just this morning he was doubtful that he was really alive, and that the whole world wasn't just a play that was badly cast, set up to make him think he was the star of some kind of bad reality television show.

"I mean, keep everything together." He swallowed hard. It wasn't what he could become that was driving what he was about to say, but the need to protect. There was a lot of personal things he longed to protect, but that paled in comparison with what was at stake. His whole life, hell the lives of everyone he'd ever know or dream about meant little to what could be lost. "I guess there's not really any choice in the matter is there, at least if I'd like to be able to ever look at myself in the mirror without having to experience so much disgust at myself I puke." He nodded. "Okay, I'm in."

Agni listened to all that she spoke and almost couldn't believe on what she had said. Saving the universe? Disorders? What is this? For him, it was becoming a story like Dissidia Final Fantasy, but with more things than just a single world to save and id didn't seemed like a conflict created by gods. Still, the puzzle in his head was big. Fine, it was true that she was another type of being and she seemed powerful enough, but what if this thing got complicated enough? Other than that, what it would be of his sister? How many days would he pass on this task that was being requested and he seemingly couldn't refuse and leave?

Then, when the wings from On The First Day shined, he saw many things passing all at once. All the universes were familiar to him. Of course, some of them were new, but it wasn't nothing out of what he knew. The many figures that he watched going on and on... made him think deeply about this. After all, he had his own wishes other than just responsibilities. But he never thought about something like that.

BGM: The Piano for Agni

"... So be it... if I have no choice other than doing this, what even.", he said. No matter what he was feeling, if you analyze the situation logically, he had only two choices: to accept and to accept. However, something he had to point out with her. "However, I have one thing to ask you. And I'll do that when we have a space and time to talk between each other, without any people near us.", he said. After that, Agni left a single sigh and awaited for what she had to add.

Being slightly late Sanaa did not get the chance to interact with everyone just yet. But the sight of an angel drew more attention than anything anyway. Hanging in the back on the group she couldn't draw her eyes away. To be honest she never really believed in such things and even having one in front of her was hard to believe. At least until she was suddenly shown things that could not be explained.

They were a select few and they now had a task to perform. There were still a lot of questions. But surely the being knew this and would address more shortly. Finally having a moment to think she looked at the others gathered. They appeared to be from all over, different nationalities and probably backgrounds.

On The First Day smiled, feeling elated as one by one they accepted her quest. With another bow, she thanked them profusely.

"My Lords and Ladies, now that it everything has come together, I will bestow upon you the gifts needed to carry out this task." Without further preamble, On The First Day Lifted her hands, and in an instant, a telescope and a scroll appeared in her hands. The scroll grew long enough to cover the entire group, before shining brightly. Inscribed on it were your names, random dates and places. Knowledge on how to use your abilities filled your mind, as well as a strange, invigorating feeling.

The light died down and the scroll snapped back into the Angels hands. She beamed at the group. These were her heroes!

Once again, she bowed low. "One final thing. Should there ever come a time when you feel you can no longer handle your duties, come and talk to me. When the time comes, I will return you to any world of your choosing in relatively comfortable setting. Consider it part of your compensation. Before I go on, are there any final questions?"

The Angel turned her head around, staring at each of her champions with pride so pure it almost hurt to look at, never mind considering letting her down.

On The First Day looked elated at the teenagers' unanimous agreement. "My Lords and Ladies, now that it everything has come together, I will bestow upon you the gifts needed to carry out this task." The angel then lifted her hands and in an instant, a telescope and a scroll appeared in her hands. The scroll grew long enough to cover the entire group before shining brightly. Inscribed on it were the teens' names, random dates and places. Knowledge on how to use the wished ability entered Steven's mind. Though they looked amazing, their overall purpose was... questionable at best.

The light died down and the scroll snapped back into the Angels hands. She beamed at the group and once more, bowed low. "One final thing. Should there ever come a time when you feel you can no longer handle your duties, come and talk to me. When the time comes, I will return you to any world of your choosing in relatively comfortable setting. Consider it part of your compensation. Before I go on, are there any final questions?"

Steven felt like all these conditions were too good to be true. Be a superhero, save universes, retire at any place you want. Steven raised his hand to get First Day's attention. "What's the catch?"
