Again, Tyler, I really like your character - Urban agrees. It's just that we need to tweak Mason's power a bit. I also think you should elaborate on the size of the mirror. How big does the mirror need to be for him to enter it?

Thanks for your feedback and supportive comments. I have amended by original submission and attached the changes below. I have also included Mason's NEST identification.

Limits, Weaknesses & Drawbacks

Limits:

Mason's powers are useless if there are no mirrors present. His powers only work for actual mirrors; reflections in windows, water, metals etc are useless to him. When he is remote viewing, his viewpoint is always from the POV of the mirror; as such, if an object is blocking the view or the mirror is dirty or covered with a sheet, his view will be impaired. The further he teleports or views, the more energy he is drained of; teleportation requires more energy than remote viewing. Furthermore, Mason can only enter the mirror world through a mirror that is big enough for him to climb through. He can remote view through any size mirror. Whilst he is the only one known to be able to enter the mirror realm, anyone is able to leave it; as such, if he ever learns to transport others with him, they will be free to leave whenever they please. For his telekinesis over mirrors to work, he must be able to physically see a mirror; he is not able to use this power to bring a mirror to him if there are no mirrors around for him to use. When he changes his appearance in a mirror, his reflection will still be himself. Whilst ever he is in the mirror realm, he feels a physical, mental and emotional taxation. This only increases the longer he remains there.

Weaknesses & Drawbacks

Mason has a very low athletic ability, and as such is largely vulnerable in combat situations. If a mirror he is connected to* is broken, he feels a degree of pain equivalent to that of the damage. A crack causes a small amount of pain while a complete shatter will cause enough pain that he becomes unconscious. Due to the fragile nature of his tools, this makes him vulnerable when using his powers. If he is in the mirror world when the mirror is broken, he is not only dragged back to the real world but also suffers physical damage to accompany the pain. These injuries manifest as cuts and scratches, the severity and depth of which are determined by the level of damage caused to a mirror. This does not apply to his telekinesis or shapeshifting abilities; however if a mirror he has used to shapeshift is broken, the illusion vanishes instantly and Mason is returned to his normal appearance. If a bright light is shone into a mirror Mason is connected to, he is dazzled. This is especially prominent when he is remote viewing; whilst anyone can see the image in the mirror, only Mason will be affected by the light. This effects of this vary from dizzying to temporary blindness, depending on the harshness of the light.

*'Connected to' definition:
[1] The mirror Mason has used to enter the mirror world.
[2] The mirror Mason is using to view somewhere remotely.
[3] The mirror Mason is trying to view remotely.

I'm debating how exactly we'll start. I was thinking that everyone starts on the boat ride there - but that would leave out the characters that would logically already be on the island.

It would lead to a speech by the Headmistress (Yes, the owner of this school is a girly girl) - alternatively, I was just thinking of skipping the boatride and starting there. Then that leads to the question of what to do next? I don't think setting everyone loose that early would be a good idea, so I was thinking of starting the same way I started the other two iterations of the 218: A grand banquet!

... Unless you guys have any better ideas.

The characters who are already students run the newbies through an obstacle course into the academy grounds filled with snakes, croissants, blackjack, hookers, and carpal tunnel.

Thank you, I'm very excited to roleplay with you all.

I personally believe starting on the boat will be best. The OP says that the ships are infrequent but scheduled to and from the island. People who join the RP later can enter the story as a latecomer to the school on one of these boats. Perhaps their powers manifested more recently, or they simply weren't aware of the school, or they missed the boat at the start of term. There is a lot of flexibility with this approach. New students arrive at schools all the time. They could even be transfers from other academies around the world.

Yeah, Superhero RPs on this site attract mary sues (Then again, so does every RP). I made this because I was itching for a good Superhero school, and the current ones are... eh. So I decided to make one myself!

Anywho, I think we're getting enough people. I'll be closing the doors soon. However, the guys who have already placed interest (Or discussed powers with me over Skype/Pms) officially have a spot reserved for them. I'm not screwing you guys over.
