@ClocktowerEchosHope you're still having time for thi game, though.
http://www.achtungpanzer.com/divis.htm#tank
I'll be using this as the rough basis of my force makeup.

Is it such a tragedy if we pass the 10,000 count in soldiers?
Can we be more flexible with that number?
At first I thought it's more than enough. Now it feels almost harsh.

Sure, just by how much though?

Also, I assume the link you posted was for tanks only. Or is the infantry stuff above it also relevant?

Tank divisions still have sizeable number of infantry.
I say that 10,000 is the preferred number of soldiers total but if we overshoot it by a few thousands then at best that means the other player would adjust his numbers to fit.

BTW, I thought of something.
How about if as the defender you have more soliders than me (50% more) but inferior number of vehicles.
You have entrenchments, artillery, field guns and anti-tank weapons but in terms of vehicles I'd have the advantage somewhat even though I'd have less soldiers.
I think it makes sense but it's all up to you.

@Willy Vereb
That seems fair, I'd probably only have something akin to an armored patrol instead of a full division or the like

@ClocktowerEchosMade a barebones army list.
I may increase or nerf certain numbers but this is what yyou'd be roughly facing.
When Yllendthyr makes motorized armies they mean it.

Also certain partsof this force don't strictly belong to the 7th Armored Division but they assist them during this offensive.
Airforce, artillery and certain other units are like that.

@ClocktowerEchosMore or less finalized my army composition.
I feel my AA and airforce may be still too big, though.
I'll put down the details tomorrow.
How's on your side?

I see, well this is only a hobby so ofc it's understandable.

Any objections to my army list? I want an opinion on it. It'd help me make this better.

The only issue I have is the number of aircraft and the ratio of machine guns to mortars.
I read somewhere that in most cases machine guns outnumbered mortars?

I may tone down the number of aircraft. I used Kursk as an example where during the counterattack depending on which side you took the ratio of aircraft were either 3:2 or 4:2. Besides aside from small bombs and such their main role is to secure the airspace. My main firepower will be with the airships and their not-V1 barrage.

As for machine guns vs Mortars, they do.
Here though basically every platoon which doesn't have a machinegun are carrying a mortar in roughly 1:1 ratio.
They spare no cost and also mithril makes my mortars less problematic to carry around.
As I said when Yllendthyr talks about motorized force, they mean it.

@ClocktowerEchosHave a new idea for the map:

Taken from an obvious source.
It's basically 20x100km in dimension which might be huge at first glance but artillery would still need some distance to be away from the front lines, so are location of aircraft bases and such.
Otherwise 20km is more than enough for flanking tactics.
What do you think?
I first ask you to draw an obvious line on the map where you wish to set up your defenses.
I attack from the "above" portion of the map while your defenses are originating from "below". Just for clarity's sake.

@ClocktowerEchos I feel some of your numbers are ridiculouslusly low.
Tanks for example. You can do with more and unlike ne you can have more variety to them.
Main force being medium tanks instead of light. Don't forget the Black Tortoise as your one-off super tank.
I can't wait to see gundam tropes as your super prototype tank defeats my heavy tank. Whether you can handle an entire force of them is a different matter, though.
On the other hand your air force maybe a bit high but well, I suppose they are the fastest to approach your lines as reinforcement.

Oh, and on another note don't bother with the detailed organization list for your forces. It'd be needlessly complicated and I feel it'd bind your creative resources during the game. We'll invent sub-commanders and the name of their companies/brigades/platoons on the fly.
What do you think?

Alright, I messed with some numbers. Again, I'm not good at judging this stuff but it should be a bit better. I hope.
The BT was originally just a normal Heavy Tank with a paint job, but I'm actually slightly enticed into making it something bigger. Something like a moving bunker. huehuehue

I like the make up names as we go but we should at least have the general leading them entire force and maybe some other high ranking guys listed.
We should also make a list of said sub commanders so we don't have a unit lead by five different people

One idea I had was to have a tl;dr version at the very end so neither of us get confused on what is really happening. Just a thought.

well, we invent the names of sub-comanders on the ride. I already have an elven name generator or three just for this.
I'll list lots and lots of names since I prefer telling stories from the viewpoint of characters.
It's just that until then I won't list any more than a few names in my char profile.

@ClocktowerEchosThe majority of my soldiers are effectively Stormtroopers so I am not sure if that's right.
But yeah, this is a division focusing on breakthrough power and advancing deep into the enemy territory quick.
Yllendthyr delibrately focuses their better equipment to these units so they can concentrate their powers real quick and efficiently.
Albeit it also makes them vulnerable if these units suffer heavy loses.
