Waiting is fine, but OOC chatter is what keeps RPs alive. It's like a beating heart. You stop and everything shuts down.

Nice posts, everyone. I can't wait until everyone actually meets up, but unill then I wouldn't be surprised if it remains fairly monotone. Still, just stick with it. I promise once we get to the bunker in Yantar, things will pick up.

Also, I have finished the map of The Zone, though it's incredibly shitty and will likely be updated as time goes on. For now, here it is for all your viewing pleasure.

Well, it's better than nothing. Certainly better than trying to play it by memory. Frankly, I couldn't give directions for shit when it comes to the Zone. Plus I've never played Clear Skies or Pripyat.

So I'm curious, what's the stance on vehicles? Say, if I find an abandoned military outpost with a working jeep, can I drive it until it runs out of gas or explodes from a single bullet like in that one mod?

I'll start by saying that working vehicles are incredibly rare in the zone, and generally any working vehicles that are in the zone will have long since been claimed by one of the factions or imported specifically for a faction, so as a general rule, unless your character didn't mind both finding a building where, say, a UAZ is being stored and also killing the numerous guards who will be keeping it safe, you're not going to find one. As for how fragile they are, they won't blow up from a single bullet hit, but if one happens to get lodged in the engine block, odds are your working vehicle will soon not be working. It probably won't explode, but it will definitely stall in not too long. As cool as Hollywood style explosions are, shooting a gas tank with anything less than a high explosive or incendiary round will only make it leak.

How long would it take, roughly, to get from the Plains to Yantar? I'm not gonna timeskip right on over, but I also don't want to drag things out too much. Also, if anyone wants to meet up along the way, totally down for that.

The plains to Yantar, in real time, would be about a day and a half. The plains alone make up a large chunk of the zone, so just going from one end to the other would take hours, unless you're already right next to the Old Cordon. To save time, I'll recommend you start from there.

On that note, my character is just in that part of the Old Cordon. Ohhhhh, that gives me an idea.

Well yeah, Why wouldn't you fuck swamps? Swamps are horrible. Don't go to swamps.

This is from personal experience through video games and what not. Swamps will fuck your shit up.

As will Giant Scorpions.
