Well, I did manage to pick up Metal Slug 3. Awesome-est Sauce, probably.

It was only 3.74, too.

I reinstalled Shadow of Chernobyl. Somehow my saves from over 2 years ago are still there.

I bought Shadow of Chernobyl when we first started this, and holy shit I suck. Hopefully I'll be able to slog my way through eventually - the little bit that I did play really helped to flesh some stuff out - but PC shooters are definitely not my forte. :C

Also, post coming soon!

Well, the first parts are always the most boring in vanilla.

I remember downloading a mod called OGSE and ambushing the bandit camp at the Cordon when it was nighttime. I heard gunfire and hid on the upper floor of one of the buildings. All the bandits were shooting at something that was making weird noises. Then the gunfire ceased. I waited until it was daytime again. I found all the bandits dead. No idea what the fuck hit them.

I recently finished a playthrough of SoC, actually. I was determined to beat the game on Master with everything turned off but gun models. Effectively full realism mode. Then I got to the CNPP. If I thought that was bad, the inside was a fucking nightmare. I had to dial things down to just above Novice and I still got fucked up trying to get to the end. So many Exoskeletons...

Well, Master mode is probably best when dealing with exoskeletons. It makes you deal more damage too.

BTW I may not be able to post for a few days. If I can't, I'm hoping one of you guys will take care of Porfiry.

No problemo, Peik.

My god, the CNPP part was a nightmare for me. Going in there with hardly any radiation meds is a terrible idea, as I learned the hard way. That one part that is absolutely flodded with radiation killed me about 30 times before I finally slogged through with barely any health and grabbing radiation meds and first aid kits off of every other Monolith guy I killed. The struggle is real!

Oh Christ, that part was evil. I had about 5 antirads when I got in there. Fortunately I had about ten of every kind of medkit. Can't say I had too many when I got through, though. The worst part of that for me wasn't so much the radiation as it was that I had to push through with an SVD and a nearly broken Vintar. I think the only good thing that happened to me during that whole escapade was finding a dropped FT-200m and an Exoskeleton lying in a backroom.

And that's why the SSP-99M is the best suit when going through Pripyat and the CNPP.

Also, I still have internet connection. It will be slow but I believe I will be able to post.

Best post I could make here. The laptop will make me insane.

I believe this post explains why Porfiry is so well-liked by scientists too.

Your character is just the most unlucky chap, isn't he? First the mutant cat, and now Bloodsucker tentacle bacon. Utterly hilarious, though.

C'est la vie in le Zone.

That sort of shit happens when you've been in the Zone for over a decade. He's got many memories like that.

Only in Yantar, though. Only in Yantar. Though I think anyone that's been in the Zone for a few weeks and managed to live has some messed up memories.

Porfiry's trippy adventures are fantastic.

So, I'm curious - how much does Kruglov know about our characters? Was our little group handpicked, or did he send the message to more people and we're just the ones who decided to show up?

Well, Kruglov's supposed to be real good friends with Porfiry. They've been through quite a few together (not just the Tentacle bacon incident). Though I think the latter scenario is more accurate.

It's more a mix between the two, and Sakharov is the one who did the picking. Kruglov acted as an adviser and was the one who sent the messages. Sakharov didn't want just any stalker, but he needed men. There are others who got the message, but not many others, who decided not to come, and they may or may not be introduced later on. :p

Also, your tentacle trip bit was absolutely hilarious. FOR SCIENCE!!!

Hardcore drugs. Always fun.

Boy, I sure am behind. Of course, I really don't know what to make a post about. I had an idea a few days ago, but lost it. Damn it, I hate it when you're laying in bed, thinking about stuff, and you get a great idea, but suddenly it gets lost to the wind in the morn'. Blah. I'll think of something if I can, but I don't got much pumping out of these neurons.

Also, I loved the post. Twas amazing.
