Don't know how many people are familiar with ^ that series, but the concept itself could be fun for anyone with a favorite mecha series. And yes, Gurren Lagann too. Any claimed pilot/mech comes on a first come first serve policy though. And I won't accept any "dibs" in this thread either, so don't try it. Does this interest anyone at all?

Hmmm let me think about this for a mom-HELLS YES I'M INTERESTED!

...Tempted to go with Gunbuster (since it's my favourite mecha series and all), but we'll see.

Alright, good to know some people are interested. If this get's just enough interest I'll put up an OOC post with a plot and stuff some time later. Hopefully this will, since I wanted to do this on the old site.

I'm certainly interested. Will probably gobble up Demonbane just to keep it out of the hands of lesser mortals.

I'd advise against a stat system. Trying to quantify mechas with a power scale will invariably result in headaches when you have to factor in things like Diebuster and Turn-A Gundam. Unless you want to refer to an /a/-based power level chart, which is a headache unto itself.

Thank you, Jerkchicken. I meant no ill will but that was rather irritating. I will try to find a middleground to please everyone, hopefully. OOC work will start somewhere in the afternoon, EST unless I wake up early, so to everyone interested please bear that in mind and don't just lose interest and not show up if you don't see it, It'll take a bit to work things out. Thanks.

Yeah but neither did SRW otherwise everyone would assemble their god teams and steamroll everything if they were following their canonical power levels. Besides this is the same series where unarmed martial artists can punch Angels to death with kung-fu

To be fair, said unarmed martial artist was from Giant Robo, and the only person in that who wasn't a ridiculous superhuman was the boy with the titular robot. XD And yeah, I'm against trying to quantify stuff like that too, but mostly because I've seen such things boil down to unpleasantness in the past. That and it can kind of hurt pacing if things get bogged down in rules, but... We'll see how things turn out.

Anyways, might not be using Gunbuster, since I'm only going to use it if I can find someone to play Kazumi, and I know someone who probably wants to play Nono and I don't want to screw up the timeline by having Noriko and Nono running about at the same time. Luckily, I have plenty more options to choose from, so we'll see how things turn out.

You mentioned someone punching Angels, and the only guy I can think of who actually did that was Giant Robo's Alberto the Shockwave. XD Although I think in another SRW he and Master Asia got into some epic fistfight. How the world managed to survive that I'll never know.

...So clearly, I should play as Master Asia on foot armed with only a sash. Clearly. >.> <.<
