Character Name: Camriska Dobrynin (Prefers Cammy)
Age: 16
Gender: Female

Appearance:

Personality: Cammy is very strong willed and always had a bit of a..practical personality. She is a strong puzzle solver and has a deep want to understand the world. In fact if she hadn't been born with the gift for magic she most likely wouldn't have believed in it at all. She's not much of a dreamer, and prefers practical science over the more...out there classes. She can sometimes be misconstrued as a cold hearted person, but its just the way her hardened personality comes off as. If you were to get close to her she would defend you until her dying breath.

House: Viserious

Bio: Camriska's pure-blood parents were born Russian and immigrated to America when her mother became pregnant with Cammy's elder brother, Markus. Of course magic flowed strongly through both her and her brother. The young girl always looked up to her elder brother of 5 years, he got high marks on his OWL's and NEWT's, was charming and likeable, the pride and joy of Gladium...their parents were quite proud and expected their daughter to find the same popularity when she enrolled....it...wasn't meant to be. Though Cammy did well on her class assignments, it was more of an average score with a few classes peaking, than the all around amazing feats her brother achieved. She didn't get into Quidditch, she wasn't a social butterfly, and especially didn't care for House Gladium...having been sorted into Viserious without a second thought. She's taken a rather strong interest in Arithmancy..the class seeming to be boring to most students, she found absolutely wonderful. She's also finding more and more of an interest in DaDA, and the thought of becoming an Auror has crossed her mind a few times...

Skills:
Strengths: Arithmancy, History of Magic, and Defense Against the Dark Arts
Weaknesses: Charms, Divination, Transfiguration

Classes: Potions, Herbology, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, History of Magic, Astronomy, Charms, and her electives are Arithmancy and Art (though she's not a very skilled artist)

@Daemyn: It looks good. Accepted, though Id ask you to clean up your Skills section. It seems as though you've muddled up a bunch of unneeded personality traits in there. For example 'doesnt give up easily' and 'attention seeking and overbearing' are things that aren't really needed in that section. I understand that some personality traits can be a real advantage/disadvantage but I guess Im looking for more tangible things like being clumsy, bad at following procedures, poor memory, etc. Though, if youre lazy, you really dont neeeed to do this. :)

Yeah, I sorta threw anything in there that could qualify as something of the sort. It was late when I wrote it, so it got a little muddled. I'll clean it up before we start, but at the moment I have a headache so I'll do it when that clears up :3

Where are all the herbology loving Foxglove students? Tai Lun needs a 'ho(e)

No matter! Seranity, will you do the honour of being pals with Tai Lun in a glorious headbutting match of snarly personalities that eventually gave way to a pretty awesome friendship? Her cold logic and pessimism might be able to tame Tai Lun's urges to cause trouble.

Hey, I narrowed down my character's skills/weaknesses a bit and edited in a little list, shouldn't be as cluttered/filled with information that's not needed now. :)

Do so! It'll help us find everyone's CS. Maybe make room in the Head of House thing, and then list the house students underneath?

Character Name: Ailsa Carrow

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Personality: Personality? No; the main question is whether she would be diagnosed as a psychopath or not. It's not that she's particularly dangerous (unless angered) to anyone but she does have a rather shady sense of moral judgement. She's not unsociable, in fact she's like a sharp-edged sword when it comes to social encounters. Whether it's a witty remark or providing her opinions (mostly unwanted), then she can easily handle it all and take it in her stride. The paramount problem, however, is the fact that she really makes no effort to conceal her displeasure for muggles or half-bloods or simply anyone who connives with the whole lot. This has caused her some support in Viserious but a main back-lash from other students. Like she'd care, of course.

Still however, she isn't one to mock you until she watches you and judges your usefulness to her before she categories you. Some people will gain her trust and she'll allow them to wiggle their way into her inner group. Most will be completely uninteresting to her and she'll let them ones drift through but occasionally, she finds a threat. A threat is someone who has the potential to destroy the chaotic system that she has engineered. Someone who could be close to her or her arch-nemesis - that's why she has to watch. In terms of school work, she usually tries pretty hard but likes to give the appearance that she isn't - her reasons for trying is because her parents would be rather disappointed if she got bad results.

House: Viserious

Bio: One would be hard pressed to find a wizard or a witch that didn't know the Carrow family. Although Ailsa was from a minor branch of that family, she was still closely related to the Carrow Twins who were given control of Hogwarts after Voldemort took over the ministry of magic. For that, her family were slightly avoided by normal wizards but it was hard to avoid one of the most powerful wizarding families in America

Ailsa was the youngest child and only girl amongst her three older brothers. For that reason, she was spoiled rotten when she was a child - anything she wanted, she got and there was even a number of things that she didn't want that she got. Growing up was easy for her, if her brothers ever annoyed her or gave her any problems then she would turn on the water-works and run to her father. Quickly, however, she discovered that this only worked in the case of her brothers and very rarely worked when dealing with other children. She needed something new, something that could allow her to bend and warp their little minds. It was only when she turned nine did she figure out what it was. All she needed to do was befriend the right people, make the right contacts and she had total control.

Moving from her private school in New York to Salem was easy, she had already made friends with other children from rich backgrounds and so, when she was put into Viserious, her rise was expected. Unlike most of the other pure-blooded children that joined her, Ailsa had a lot going for her up in that thick skull of hers and she used it with deadly efficiency. Bonds were made, friendships destroyed and she felt rather smug that she had did it all. Having a brother who was a professional quidditch (or that weird American variant) player did help her gain a fee others as well, but also made her pretty good at the sport.

Skills-
Strengths:
- Charms
- History of Magic
- Good at flying
- Quite intelligent

Weaknesses:
- Transfiguration
- Potions
- Herbology
- She's almost desperate to please her parents - she'll quite literally do anything.
- Little to no chance of her opening up to someone
- Despite having pretty decent looks, she hates getting compliments and this makes her mad.

Classes: Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Potions, Astronomy, History of Magic, and Herbology. Her two electives are Arithmancy and Ancient Runes.

Bah, I'm trying to decide which house to put my character in. He fits in every house but Gladius- I was originally placing him in Viserious, but we seem to have three in there already and I don't want to overload one house.

Also, one more suggestion, but can there be a "wand" section of the bio? It's basically as important as their arm and used a lot in describing characters.

Foxglove.

Pick Foxglove.

Also, for a wand, I want Thestia to have THIS beauty:

But that won't happen. Crystal isn't a good material for wands. :<

Yeah, I think I decided for them to be first or second cousins of her parents, I guess? Also I wanted to start her off with a bit of a bad rep :P

Also, I might make a Gladius character and if he ain't Gladius then he's heading for Foxglove.

Yes, adding a wand section is actually quite important. >< Though, I dont know about making it a requirement due to the fact that a bunch of people already submitted (and I have accepted) their apps. If anyone really wants to add a wand section to their application they may go back and edit it.

Character Name: Felix Ryder

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Appearance: Normally a rather well dressed individual, Felix looks older than he truly his. Eyes with dark rings from sleepless nights and stubble since he was thirteen years old. The boy's thick, slightly dark and sharpened nails resemble claws more than anything else, although he tries to file they down as much as possible. He'll often wear his wizarding robes on the weekend while other students opt for muggle clothing, as an attempt to root himself in the magical world as much as possible.

Personality: Far from the snarling beast that most would expect, Felix is a funny, kind, curious boy that tries to make friends with anyone he can. Raised without truly knowing the stigma attached to being a werewolf, it was a shock to hear such slanderous things about him in his first few years at Salem. Admittedly, he had written a few owls home asking to leave in his first year, but quickly made friends that inspired him to say. Felix's most defining feature is his curiosity- whether it's to hunt down a better tome in the Restricted Section or to follow his nose into the woods, his thoughts tend to lead him to conclusions before his feet get there.

While contemplating his life after school, the young wizard decided that wandmaking was always a trade he had admired above all else. The very device that allows the wizarding world to accomplish their magnificent feats is a field with new discoveries and creations on a daily basis. Since then, he's diverted focus toward the study of wand lore and crafting in the library while he still has the resources available. At the very least, he hopes to be the greatest wandmaker in the country, with a shop in the busiest market. At the most, he hopes to create a wand to rival the Elder Wand.

House: Foxglove

Bio: Marco and Sarah Ryder didn't know what to expect when they were contacted to take in a 'rather unusual' child. They were a pair of squibs that had met through mutual friends and married while attending medical school. The pair were the only medical staff in their rural, Ohio farming town; Sarah a versatile doctor for the whole town and Marco, her skilled assistant and nurse. They were unable to conceive through magical or muggle means and decided on adoption through the Department of Magic.

Their joyful, bouncing baby arrived with a government employee that explained his condition. He had been found three months earlier, abandoned with a note that simply read "His name is Felix". Spending only a week and a half in muggle protective services, the new born was discovered in its crib as a wolf pup, sound asleep. Animal control was contacted and were beaten by the Department of Magic, who vanished with the creature. Partly due to the Department's lax code on abandoned werewolves and the importance of the safety of the other wizarding orphans, Felix was placed in a home as far from anyone as possible.

Raised by parents who had been exposed to the magical world since birth but unable to practice magic, they did their best to make the young werewolf comfortable as he grew up a confused wizard in a small town of muggles. Leafing through wizarding textbooks from grandparents on both sides since before he could read, he craved the use of magic in a way that wasn't just his dangerous monthly transformations. On a strict, government-regulated dosage of Wolfsbane Potion, Felix was permitted acceptance to Salem. He was sorted into Foxglove and quickly proved his worth as a qualified, competent wizard.

Skills:
-Strengths: Due to his affliction with lycanthropy, Felix's senses are slightly heightened, allowing him to mainly hear and smell far better than most people. During the rising moon, this is usually elevated to the point that it results in severe headaches and nausea.
Potions- This is a skill that Felix didn't have to wait until Salem to start practicing. Ordering supplies through wizarding catalogs and as presents from relatives, he practiced with potion starter kits from an extremely young age. In the classroom, his sense of smell allows him to pick the freshest supply or best ingredient, creating slightly better results.
Herbology- Raised in a farming town, Marco and Sarah often joked about the young wizard's "green claw". They let him grow wizarding plants and herbs from a young age, encouraging the harmless hobby that just made their vegetable patch look extra exotic.
Transfiguration- Poring over volumes of magical books searching for some kind of a cure for lycanthropy, he inherently refined the necessary knowledge over the years.
Cooking- Not at all flashy, but he likes to think of himself as a mighty fine cook.
-Weaknesses: Naturally poor at Care of Magical Creatures, due to the fact that all animals have a general distrust for werewolves, even in human form. Even owls have a tendency to nip at his fingers or flap their wings at him defensively. He's dreadful in Defense Against the Dark Arts, mainly because most weapons and charms against dark creatures tend to make him feel queasy and light headed. Not terrible at flying a broom, but he's not winning any championships any time soon.
-Werewolf Weaknesses:Severely allergic to pure silver at all times. Normally, it causes a rash to form whenever he comes into contact, but a knife made of silver during the full moon will leave lasting wounds. As a werewolf, he will only react to the call of his own kind and will kill his best friend if given the chance.
Werewolf Weaknesses/Description

Classes: Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Potions, Astronomy, History of Magic, and Herbology. His elective courses are wandcraft related; Arithmancy, for the magical properties in wand measurements and Care of Magical Creatures. . . with disastrous results.
